Modern Middle Eastern counter-serve chain dishing up shawarma & falafel on pitas, rice or salads.
Naf Naf Grill in West Chicago
Description
Privilege
Poor quality meat and tiny portions. Was great first couple of years when they first opened, theyve gone down hill, wont be going back.
Morebeyond frustrated with the quality and quantity of food here. I have always seen this place pop up when searching for a Mediterranean place.I thought of trying since the reviews were good.I ordered the build-you-own plate and looking at the picture of the food it seemed the quantity would be sufficient.I went to pick up the food at around 5 pm when usually the place should be full or at least have a lot of people but, there was hardly anyone. That should have been my indication of how good this place is. I went to pick up my order and there was a lady standing behind the counter I said I am here to pick up the order, she gave me a weird look and without saying anything pointed to where the food is. I get the silent behavior of this dead place.went home opened the packet and the picture you see is exactly what I got. I cannot believe that they deceive the customers by first getting a wider plate and then spreading the food so it looks full. 3 scoops of rice and maybe 2 scoops of chicken is all I got with falafel. Mediterranean places usually give you a lot of rice and thats their specialty. This place is not even close to what real Mediterranean food is. with the quantity, this food should be $8 not freaking $14.Find a better Mediterranean place than this. you will starve here...
MoreNot good at all they are charging money for mini cup of sauce and tahini ,75 cents
MoreWonderful food very healthy choices.
It had been over a year since weve been here. Theyve changed their menu. You can no longer get the shawarma plate with Israeli salad and potato fries.Israeli salad have no flavor to it strictly had a vegetable taste no seasoning. Can we get potato chips instead of potato fries. We were both very disappointed I just cant see going back here cuz its completely changed
MoreMay star review has been on here for 3 years. But today went with co-workers for lunch. I ordered a kids meal because gotta start being more conscious about what I eat. Asked to swap the chopped salad for hummus and got told that they dont substitute on the kids meat. Fairly disappointed with the no swaps. Would eat their petas all day; plain, hummus, PB & J.So just a heads up.
MoreFast casual for schwarma and falafel. The hummus and pita are the best parts!
I am never disappointed here. I see a lot of subtle changes from the ordering to the quantity to the sauces offered but who can blame them given the inflation these days. Taste absolutely cant be best for sure but at some point the balance needs to maintained between fantastic quality and quantity. 5 stars never the less.
MoreNice place. Good food from a different culture.
Horrible crew. Service is slow. Theres always something missing in my order. Most time crew is just arguing. Naff naff is good just dont go to this location
MoreDid not like the service, food was uncooked. Waste of time and money.
Everything Ive gotten from here is always fresh and amazing! Makes me regretful going to the neighboring Potbelly so many times when Naf Naf was right there and incredible! + Becky shes super polite on the phone 👍👍👍👍👍
MoreLove the variety of restaurants in this place delicious friendly plaza and cool place to chill out and walk around
MoreOmg, I cant say enough about this place. Honestly, Im in love. Im ashamed to say how often I would eat here if I could. Its so good, food is always fresh. So many options for customization and the red sauce is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I LOVE IT! Word to the wise ALWAYS get an extra pita. Youll thank me when you got that little bit extra left in your basmati rice bowl and you think to yourself tomorrow at lunch "man, this would make a great pita pocket" CAUSE IT WILL!!!
MoreExcellent, the girl who made my pita wraps is awesome. They where fantastic, give her a raise
MoreFood quality has gone down over the years. And I don’t know what’s up with these sauces like I wanted some extra and they wanted me to pay for that. Really ? You call it customer service. Also if you want to add chips and drink it’s close to $6 with taxes. That’s too much. They should definitely lower the price on this one.
MoreSUCH a good place for something different from other places in the area. they make the pita fresh and it all tastes delicious. service is pretty good too
Morethis place has gone in the toilet, they are trying to be like chipotle, used to be awesom, stopped for a hummus topped with schwarma and got this pitiful amount, used to be a full bowl of hummus loaded up. rice was tasteless and unseasoned, even pitas were raw and doughy....
MoreGreat food. Do use their rewards
Had a long day at the office and just didnt feel like cooking. But still wanted something healthier than a burger and fries. Ordered the falafel bowl and it was fantastic!
MoreNice place to grab Middle Eastern food. The baba ganoush is very good! The pita bread is fresh and the staff is very friendly. The falafel was tasty but a bit overcooked.
MoreIt used to be an affordable option for Mediterranean food but now the cost had increased a lot and the quantity and taste of the food went down. We ordered falafal, shawarma and fried chicken bowls. Once the falafel was good . Other both were not that tasty. But the rice quality is still the same which is good.
MoreWonderful serviceClean facilityFood is plentiful and the best Mediterranean food in area. You wont find a better pita than naf nafs.Hummus is out if this world🥰🥰🥰 trrat youself
MoreI remember the first place that got opened in Naperville. I met the owners and it was a wonderful experience. But that was many years ago. Few weeks ago I stoped at Naf Naf by the Fox Valley Mall. I was really excited. In fact it was an awful decision. The food was just old and dry. It just smelled bad. The chicken was burned. I still have a bad taste in my mouth when I think about it. I ate a little Baba Ganoush but it tasted like and old rotten eggplant not like a smoked in the wood chip eggplant. And the food is not cheap.Naf Naf became just a one of the fast foods that will give you a stomach ache just what we ended up with. Such a big disappointment.
MoreFor those following a low carb diet the chicken shwarma plate is perfect. You get about 6 oz of chicken, and you get the choice of two sides. I opted for the purple cabbage and the chopped salad. I also got a side of tahini and pickles. I also opted for curbside pick up which worked out very nicely. The food here is so flavorful and fresh. I highly recommend trying this out.
MoreThis is the worst location. After placing a scheduled order at 5:00 pm for a 6:00 pm pick up time, we arrived to the staff informing us they had never received our order. After pulling up the confirmation email, they were able to locate the order and begin to make it. 30 minutes later, we still hadnt gotten our food and then they informed us that they had run out of pita and were only able to complete half our order. The options they gave us were to wait another 10 minutes (now 45 minutes after our original order timefor someone to return with pita or for us to cancel and refund only half our order. The order was still not ready even 10 minutes after the pita finally arrived. When speaking with the owner, he was extremely rude and kept repeating that everyone makes mistakes. That is understandable but for a fast casual restaurant, we shouldnt be waiting 2 hours for food!
MoreMy first time here was a nice experience - cant wait until indoor dining returns; nice interior decor. Food was great, chicken shawarma plate was plentiful and tasty. Friendly and courteous staff was very welcoming.
MoreBeware they close at 8pm now.Their service is average. Back in 2014 Naf Naf was packed with customers, great portions, hot food everytime, fast as possible, great customer service and you could tell the employees liked working there. Not sure whats changed, maybe we could blame it on Covid, but the last year Ive hardly been there because all of those reasons have declined. If they dont figure out how to improve those important areas they will have some problems. When its $10 for cold meat, not toasty pita and the whole thing falls apart before youre half way eating it with an order of cold fries not many would be willing to return.
MoreGood quality food with mediocre service. Ive ordered the curbside pickup 3 times, only once went well. The last two times I sat in the car waiting for 15-20 minutes before going in and picking up the food at the counter. Order ahead but dont plan on the curbside pickup working. The food is delicious. Hot pita is fantastic, moderately good humus. Lentil soup is fantastic, Baba Ganoush is delicious. Homemade fries are great hot but go soggy on a drive home, eat them right away.Great vegetarian options, great food but avoid the curbside pickup.
MoreWhat a horrible experience. This is the third time we did not receive pita breads with our order. There was no apology when we called or any courtesy to offer partial refund even. Very bad management. I plan to avoid the whole franchise in future. I am only giving it 2 stars because we like their food.
MoreWhite sauce doesn’t taste like tahini sauce at all. It taste more like Mayo blended with water. Which change the taste completely of a sandwich. I used to like this restaurant a lot . Not so much anymore .Another incident two people walked in without their masks. Comfortably walking around people with their masks on. When I showed my concern to one of the employee I was informed that “All they are doing is, Picking up their order”. To my understanding that’s what everyone else is doing. Not sure if there was a sign at the door for “ requested Mask”.I requested for red sauce, the girl said they ran out, however they had in one of their working supplies so she ended up giving it to me in a separate container with a written note on a container “Just this once”..... I don’t understand this part.. as if they ran out their little containers for customers to take out she accommodated me with different container, if I look at the situation, written comment was not necessary. It’s not my fault that they ran out of the sauce...Over all ....Bitter experience.. Drove in storm .. half an hour in a hope to get good food.. not so much:(
MoreThis Naf Naf location is honestly a hit or a miss. I go here a lot as thier menu is vegetarian friendly. However, there are some days when the food is amazing and there are some when its mediocre. Another downside is that they do not have bowls which almost all the other locations do. As no restaurant is perfect, i would definitely recommend going here.
MoreI always order online and pick up my lunch here . They leave a smiley face with my name on the lunch order, I think its a nice gesture and it makes my day whenever I go to pick up. Thanks for doing that :)PS: Their sandwich is my favorite!!
MoreNaf Naf Grill has become successful these past years based on great "Fresh" food at a reasonable price. The Pita is extremely fresh and served warm. Filial is good, but not outstanding, Kabobs and chicken shawarma are very good. The Israeli salad is outstanding and everything is priced reasonably. It is not fine dining, so not fair to compare but if you are in the mood for quick and different, reasonably priced food, this is a great place!
MoreUsed to really love this place. I stopped in to get a Falafel, ordered and then waited, and waited. After fifteen minutes of standing there the cook decided to start cooking my food. The poor lady working the counter seems to be the only that cares. Food was great, service not so much.
MoreI had this location at a 4 star about 5 months ago. We went in today and wow what a difference. The place was dirty, very dirty. There was food all over the floor, like it hadnt been swept in a few days. The tables were not washed down food and grease everywhere. This place wasnt busy at this time maybe 4 customers, and about 6 employees from what I could see. When I say the tables were not washed I mean every table. We tried to find a place to sit down and there wasnt one wiped down table. Im not sure we will come back. If they cant clean the easy stuff, how dirty is the hard to clean items? Like the stove, grill, cooking utensils, the refrigerator and other items. We love the tabbouleh and bread, but not happy with the cleanliness. Differently not recommending this place to anyone.
MoreWhen I first came here about two years ago, I was impressed with the food quality, the speed and efficiency of the service and the cleanliness of the place. Today, I was struck by the disorganization , the poor quality of the chicken schwarma I got, the noise and the dirty floors. And this is on a Sunday. So, it’s not as though this was a weekday lunch rush and they were slammed. And it’s been this way for a while, now. So sad to have seen a once great place to eat go downhill so badly. Try someplace else.
MoreService is key in all businesses. Quality of food is also very important. This place has both! I ordered a chicken shawarma plate and the chicken was a little dry. I go here, to this location a lot, so I know its normally not like this. I simply asked the guy if he had any fresh chicken, that mine tasted a little dry, and he gave me an entire new plate. So I scored an extra piece of naan too. The new plate was juicy and delicious! Would highly recommend to a fried.
MoreMeh. I want to like this place because I love Mediterranean food but I had a few issues. First, the food isn’t anything to write home about; the taste isn’t all that great. The restaurant itself is clean enough. Not spotless but I did come right after the lunch rush. The worst part is that they don’t even actually make the food. They give you the ingredients but you have to do the rest. You have to cut your pita, you have to fill your own sauces in small cups, you have to stuff the meat in your pita, etc. You basically have to make your own food and they charge you nearly twice as much as they would at a Chipotle. Overall this place isn’t worth the price.
MoreNaf Naf Grill is a great place to enjoy authentic Middle Eastern (Israelifood. They also cater too.
MoreThis place isnt authentic mediterranean in my opinion but its very good! I wish they would do combo plates but their version of pita bread is soooo good! Its very fluffy. Every thing is good here and the people are nice.
MoreThe restaurant was very dirty. My wife had been there once before with friends and had said how tasty the food was. We walked in tonight and the restaurant was just dirty with food scraps and litter strewn all over the floor and also by the drink station. My wife enjoys the food, Im not a big fan of the sauces, but the meats are good. With the restaurant as dirty as it was, my food was never going to taste as good as it should.
MoreIts a really great place for a quick bite. The menu is small but delicious. I didnt know this at first, but if youre looking for something low carb, you can always get one of the dishes that is served in a pita, but ask for the pita on a plate. They will have the meat and veggies separately! My favorite is definitely the chicken
MoreDecently fast service and really great food. The food is authentic and flavorful. If you are looking for good Middle East shawarma, then this place is for you. Prices are decent as well. I have not eaten in, but there is plenty of seating.
MoreGood for fast food. Better than a burger. Love the pita but its a shame they stopped making them fresh to serve. Salty, not to taste but high sodium content and will be thursty for hours. Service is typical rush of fast food service. Tables dirty.
MoreThe restaurant was very dirty. There was garbage all over the floors, the trash area was a complete mess and almost all of the tables were visibly dirty. The mens room needed yo be cleaned, too. There was one person in line ahead of me and it took almost 20 minutes to get our food. When we got our food, two out three orders were wrong. The food tasted fine, but the lack of cleanliness and very slow service makes the experience mediocre at best.
MoreAbsolutely love this place. Great schwarama, Ive enjoyed the chicken and the steak.. But the chicken is my favorite...it is a craving. The chips (friesare good.. Sometimes great and others.. Cold. Love the falafel! Abundant sauces available.. Garlic, tahini and the two hot ones green and red.. The red looks dangerous but its not (if you like hot saucesbut, the green has great flavor that compliments the food. This is one of the locations of the original owners and is one of my favorites.
MoreThe absolute best pitas I have ever eaten in my life. So soft and fluffy. Never had anything like it. This place is set up kind of like a Chipotle where you order and walk along the window watching your food get served. Had the chicken Shawarma plate. Was a ton of food. The filafel can be ordered separately for $0.50 each. They were good as well.
MoreAs of 12/28/2016, this Naf Naf does not have BOWLS - as in hummus bowls, shawarma bowls, etc like their newer locations. Which is a huge negative - enough to deduct a whole star. But their plates and sandwiches are still excellent.
MoreI come to Naf Naf Grill about once a week on the weekends and every time the experience is wonderful. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The falafel here is by far one of the best that Ive ever had. You have to try it with their garlic and red pepper sauce. I also love their fries. Theyre made from scratch and not so salty. The only recommendation I would make for the staff is to check on the cleanliness of the bathrooms more frequently. Every time I come in the bathroom trash can, or "trash pocket" as I would say, is always full. Thats right, their trash can is the size of a laptop bag. But this doesnt take away from my 5 star rating because everything else here is far superior. Enjoy!
