Naejangsan National Park - National park in Kwangju, South Korea
Naejangsan National Park in Kwangju
Description
Privilege
Visited on 8Nov22 which was 3 days after peak foliage forecast. Quite a lot of leaves have fallen from the trees but still had quite a good number of trees with beautiful autumn foliage. I think it might be better to visit a few days before the forecasted peak foliage date of that year so that at least most of the leaves haven’t fallen.
MoreI used to live out in Jeongeup and would go here all the time. Its been eight years since I left and would love to go back one day to visit.
MoreIts beautiful with maple trees and water streams in the valleys and hills of mountains. Also there are traditional dishes with special tastes..
MoreLines are long in autumn, but the colors are beautiful and the atmosphere is fresh and crisp. I can see why this place is so popular
MoreThe beauty of nejangsan never fades ♡♡♡
very beautiful in autumn..i was amazed to see it
Very beautiful colorful park in the autumn
This may be my favorite park in all of Korea! Hike the entire ridgeline loop if you have time, the peaks at either end are the best!
MoreI guess we went too early to see all the leaves change colors. Will try again next year.
MoreSo beautiful 🥰🥰
Very nice, and very quiet on a weekday in mid-November. Too late for the beautiful looking leaves unfortunately but still great hiking in this very beautiful national park.
MoreWay too many people as well. But it’s really nice in fall and can imagine how crazy it would be before corona. This is at 2am in the morning people waiting for the parking lot to open
More5 different levels of hiking trails.Easy (WalkModerate (Slightly steepIntermediate (Quite steep and I would suggest proper hiking boots, Advanced & Expert.Great spots for picnics and cafes and restaurants are available too.
MoreThe colorful trees are beautiful.
Best fall colors in Korea. I hiked from Bakamsa(templeto Naejangsa(templefor little over 8 hours and seen all the best colors in Korea. I lost a trail a few times but managed to find it. Please do not hike alone on this trail. Otherwise one of the Best trail in Korea, I think.
MoreWe came too early for autumn foilage but the place is serene and there is not much people to be seen except for old people in groups.
MoreLucky me can catch the bloom of maple leaves in Naejangsan. My friend and I joined a day tour commute from Seoul to the national park. Even local people also visited here for hiking and sightseeing. Very breathtaking. A gentle reminder to wear light warm jacket and bring water, it probably takes 3-4 hours to temple from entrance.
MoreBest place for take some pictures
Beautiful scenic view and colourful everywhere. It is best to visit is during autumn season around the early of November.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful. Trails at the bottom of the mountain might be crowded, but as soon as you head up its nice and quiet
MoreRecommended to come here when autumn. Its very pretty so I stop in every spot to take a picture. If you want to ride the cable car, better to take the bus to the cable car because the queue is quite long. But if you just want to seeing around and enjoy the view, it is better to walk and take the bus to go back to the entrance. Or you can walk if you want. There is also a food stall in the middle of the park. Their honey citroen tea is very good. Also the eomuk.
MoreVery beautiful place to visit when in South Korea, we booked a tour for this online which kind of rushed the experience but it was still a gorgeous escape from the big city of Seoul. These photos are from October 24th to be exact and although there was some color foliage change, we recommend if coming for that purpose to come in November instead, but regardless of that the place was still stunning!
MoreSo beautiful in autumn
Very beautiful place!
It is beautiful in the Fall. It is hard to hike depending on which trail but so worth it to see the colors.
MoreTook me 8 hours to reach there but its worth it..
Huge amount of maple tree beside the roads. With internal parking lot and also have best transportation for people who go there by bus, train or something.
MoreNice scenery during Autumn
Good spot for hiking
Simply awesome. Only thing to keep in mind is when is the peak of autumn colours. We were lucky to get a lot of nice colours, still it could ge better few days later. Also do not travel during weekends as the place gets super crowded and we spent 6 hours to return to Seoul.
Moreeasy to get to, take 171 from just outside Jeongeup train station
Very nice place during Autumn season
Awesome, fantastic rock ship top.
2019 Nov 10th. Was supposed to be peak season for fall. But not all trees changed colors. Nearly half of them are still green. And the ones which have changed, have leaves fallen down.
MoreBeautiful place to visit in autumn, to soak in the autumn colours. There is a festive feeling in the air, as several buskers sing love songs along the way. Try some of the many makeolli stations, with fresh brewed makeolli! I didnt like the ones from bottles previously, but the home made ones here are superb - smooth, rich and lightly carbonated. Goes well with seafood pancake.
Morenopember 2019.... Peak autumn in Naejangsan National Park.... So beautifulllll...
MoreNaejangsan Park is only nice in Autumn so this time around always crowded with people. If coming from Seoul you need to stay overnight here to really view and tour this place.
MoreVery beautiful maple leaves although not yet fully grown
Naejangsan is a famous mountain in Jeollabuk-do, and the best mountain in Korea for viewing autumn’s crimson leaves.
MoreThere are lots of autumn leaves color red brown yellow.
Have a inner track walk towards temple. Better scenery. Came not in the right time. Still green
MoreA serene place to enjoy nature.Best time to visit is in November when the leaves changed colours. ;)
MoreI visited here this morning n saw the gradation colors of maple, from green to red, with good weather, a really enjoyable trip to walk around the park! They also have shuttle bus to take u so no need to worry to much if u have physical conditions.
MorePeace... Out of all...
Named after the famous mountain “Naejangsan (2503 ft)”, this park in Jeollanam-do province is a great place to enjoy autumn foliage.
MoreIn autumn, the maple leaves are fine. In spring, the cherry blossoms are pretty, too.
MoreBeautiful national park to see autumn foliage peak season
Comeonly in october. by nov most trees are bald.Takes 4h for full route. If you come from Seoul, dont bother coming to this place, 3h is not enough. There are markets there selling cheap local produce.
MoreMost beautiful scenery in this autumn season.
We went to see the leaves and they didnt dissapoint us. We rode a bus from the entrance (1000 won), to ride a cable car(8000 wonto the mountain top. Its like the states except there are lots of places to eat.
