NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Wamakko - Campsite in Sokoto, Nigeria
Wamakko orientation camp is a very nice place.
The Camp is not as I am expected. No good bed place, and the place is not comfortable to live in.
NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sokoto. This campground is where the 3-week NYSC Orientation Course takes place. It involves physical drills, lectures and training, and social activities intended to foster interactions among Corps membersThe camp can be easily located
This is one of the best NYSC Camps in Nigeria.
The weather here is toooooo hot...But camp was fun!
One of the best orientation camp in Nigeria.
A very conducive environment for camping
Its a nice place but they have very very poor toilet and water supply management. I hope they will fix it soon
My thumbprint couldnt captureSo I all stressed out
My experience in Sokoto was totally new, different, interesting and challenging (If youre used to colder/cooler regions, youll find the weather challenging. It goes up to 44% 🥵). However, Wamako Orientation Camp wasnt what I expected (I mean it in a good way👌). Although some facilities needed attention. Your own experience may differ, though. If youre looking for a totally new experience thats different from what youre used to (climate, environment, culture, religion, communication and relationships etca visit is worth it.
Nice campThe weather is the only bad thing and water
I loved the camping experience...... It was a wonderful 21 days
My experience here was horrible, with the harsh weather, lack of water and lack of Good food.
The Nysc orientation camp is a wonder and amazing.
Wamako orientation camp is very attractive
I havent been in Sokoto before but as a result of NYSC I was posted there and I thank Allah for that because I found it different from what I was thinking in short I enjoyed Sokoto very well. If I am to say everything that I sow so it take me long thanks
Is a good conducive area, regular, light, and available water inside the camp
If not the best, ots one of the beat camp in Nigeria... The weather is cold though but the environment is serene for camping activities... things are relatively cheap and there is constant electricity and water.
Calm and gentle environment that brings lots of great pple 2gether. Neat and fun place 2 be.
Its an indelible experience, although the houseflies almost gave a tough time but it was part of the fun.
My stay at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Wamako was worth the time spent there though the weather as at the time I was there was hot compared to the averaged temperature for wet season. The facilities in the camp were not bad either but an upgrade will be good. The activities was enlightening.
Well its a nice place to be .I enjoyed every single moment spent in the camp
NYSC Original Camp Wamakko Sokoto is a place to be. From Parade to Drills, to sports, lectures, trainings and more. Its a fun place.
Its small compare to katsina state camp, power suply are available they are serving food three times a day.every co-member should going to be eat 650 daily.
The facilities need to be upgraded to make it more conducive for Corp members. Aside that, the officials and staff of the NYSC are quite welcoming and hospitable, from the state coordinator to the least ranked officer.
The best north west state to serve.
Well, it quite okay, we are all doing well here, all thanks to the appropriate authority.
From my own experience, there is orderliness, food is okay but on the aspects of goods and services in the mami market is high. Weather is very very cold though that one is natural phenomenon.Suggestions1. Most candidates come without having the knowledge of how the weather are, I wish if cardigan off colour could be allowed on such occasion for health wise.2. The reason of removing all the wall socket and we are not allowed in with pressing iron, extension and other gaject. I see no sense in it. We should be given the benefits at least to charge phones.I really appreciate the management, and hopefully if the above could be readdressed. Thanks.
It is very cold, calm and peaceful, the infrastructures not too bad, but there is a large room for improvement.
I came here with low expectations, but to my own suprise this camp was well equipped in every aspect. Throughout my stay i never searched for water or slept without light. The hostels are quite good expect for the restooms which are not that bad but still below standard. All in all the experience here is memorable.
Wamakko Camp is a nice place to be. One of the best Orientation camp buildings in the country. The environment is tidy and peaceful.
Apart from the weather, this Orientation camp is one of the best in the country. The environment is well organized. They have steady water and electricity supply, neat Toilet system and a good security system. It has a friendly management system... you can always approach them and have your issue settled.I enjoyed every bit of my stay here.
Hmmm!!! Wamako NYSC Camp was a Gud place to Be BATCH A2020.
I camp here for complete 3 weeks, the facilities is ok, the weather is not all that friendly but is still manageable. The environment looks good and fine.
The Sokoto Orientation camp can be easily located. When you’re in the park in Sokoto city, get a bike man and tell him to take you to Wamakko. A bike man will charge you between 150 Naira to 250 naira, the camp is located at the left side of the road. You can either locate it yourself or ask the bikeman specifically for Orientation camp.
Here was my NYSC Orientation Camp. I had a good experience of the north (Nigeriahere.I had a good view of the sunrise and sunset, sunburn 😁, and native brews. I really had fun. Thanks Wamakko.
Everything you need are all in place for your comfort, yet the weather here is kind of hot throughout the day and get cold throughout the night but you shouldnt worry about the things you cant control - just enjoy the time of your stay in the camp!!!
The camp is fun.. The hostels although not new are accommodating... The weather switch is amazing one moment COLD, the next SUN is shining like we are in Mercury
Mixed feelings. This is for prospective Corp members.Youll wake up by 4am. Youll hear about 1000 double up before your three weeks is over. Youll sit on the ground like 20 times. Youll listen to 4 hours lectures by some not so great lecturers daily for some days. The soldiers will shout everything they want to say. The man o war guys will show you some of the most fun dance steps. Your platoon will lose some competitions. Your platoon will win some.It might seem overwhelming at first. But youll be just fine. Take a deep breath and start packing.
NYSC Orientation Camp Wamako is not bad, hostel facilities I will give good rating, aside from the fact that you cannot charge in there. Which makes charging of your devices a bit tedious.MTN and Airtel Network connections is good. However, be careful of the strong winds when its raining
The could is always beautiful
Wamako camp Is peaceful. Light and water is consistent. The area is very dusty so if u are allergic go with a nose mask. Hostel facilities are okay. Foam is provided for you but pillow is not. Go with ur allergy medicine if u have allergies, The pharmacy in camp is limited. The weather there is either very cold or very hot. Due to the heat I would advise you get a water flask so ur water can remain cold. Trust me the sun can boil ur water. Go with sun screen, especially fair people or people with sensitive skin. Wake up at four so u can get water and get ready before the soldiers come to chase. I will advice u fetch the previous night. Nigeria wakes up at 6 am and goes to bed at 6 pm, do not move when you hear the sound of the beagle. The OBS in Camp is a very good place to work at. Volleyball, football and running are the games on camp. I would have appreciated a basketball court but there is no one on camp. If you have a Sensitive Skin avoid the Henna tattoos they give on camp I repeat avoid the henna tattoos given on Camp. The maami market has a wide range of products and services, Use at ur discretion. For those who prefer to get their laundry done by laundromats, I advice u get an agreement with the laundromat for the entire 21 days, its cheaper that way (dont get swindled. Patronize our native products. Be respectful to the constituted authorities. Do not fight. Give camp Wamako a chance and keep an open mind. You will enjoy the camp.
The camp is clean, safe and well organized. There is light from 2pm till 8am and there is constant water supply.
The camp here is pretty cool
Lovely Camp adequately serviced
Its full of nice people just they the toilets are not well maintained, well mostly by the Corp members.. Aside that the soldiers the MOW the camp commandant are all good people
Its okay for a mini prison... LOL. The water and power supply is good. The hostels looks good but appears deteriorating little by little due to poor usage by corps members and partially to irregularities in maintenance. In terms of security its okay as the whole place is fenced
It was fun, been in wamakko camp. Made many new friends, meet different people from different ethnic groups. Different characters and attitude.
A place where graduates from all over the country, irrespective of their schools or course of study is trained, before being posted to various parts of the state to serve the nation for a period of one year. The orientation camp is fun filled with lots of social activities as well as military drills and parades.
Its a place where graduates from Universities all over Nigeria and beyond, as long as you are a Nigerian get oriented. Its fun, and sometimes exasperating to be here. The weather here is more of longer day, shorter night, the environment is calm, it can be cold at times but its usually Sunny.
