NYL Restaurant and Bar - American restaurant in Liverpool, United Kingdom
When we first arrived we thought we had came in the the wrong w but we hadnt, it was quiet which was perfect, few items not on menu or the drinks bit the food and service off the Alice was exemplary, she apologised for not having items in but other than that she is the epitome of having a ypun member of staff spin everything from serving us our drinks to put food, will definitely coming back for a meal cannot fault anything
My daughter visited with her friends not me but I was annoyed that when it was time to pay the bill the waiter told them they did not accept cash. There was no mention of this when I spoke to them twice on the phone to book it, when they entered, when they ordered and they didnt see any mention on the menu. The girls were 15-16 so were all paying individually some didnt have cards.Amazingly the waiter came and told them that the bill had been paid by a very kind lady at the bar her kindness blew us away. She said she had daughters herself and wouldnt like to see them in the same predicament. The girls offered her the money they had but she wouldnt take it. Maybe this beautiful lady will read this if so Thankyou ❤.
Thank you to David, Lucy and the team who ensured my pals and I felt incredibly welcome and taken care of when we visited NYL on Saturday. The service and cocktails were both excellent and all set in a lovely spacious, covid-safe building - couldnt have asked for anything more!
1st class serviceFood was goodDrinks where very good plenty of options would definitely recommend..
Cant really review as went in, stood at the bar got ignored and left
Food and bar is alright but used to be so much better
If I could leave a review of no stars I would do. Avoid this place like the plague. Arrived for an afternoon tea for a hen party, 20 people, that was booked months in advance and we have arrived and no booking!!! Although they had our deposits. The bride is in absolute tears.
Was supposed to have s meal but chef did arrive but the drinks were nice
Customer service was amazing, food was great. A little expensive, but worth it.
Loads of room even on the first weekend after lockdown. Good drinks selection but let down as no rum!!!Well set out and observing rules but could do with more staff and the service app working!
Lovely place for a drink. Beautiful decor, great selection of drinks and not too busy. Ive never eaten here yet, so cant comment on the standard of food. COVID-secure standards are good and staff take things seriously.
Afternoon tea was nice but not amazing. Waited a long time between our booked time and the food actually arriving, and there were big gaps between peoples drinks etc. being brought
Lovely food, on the smaller sized portions but absolutely fine for me. I went on a Friday evening and it had a very friendly warm atmosphere with not over powering background music with a live sax player from the roof top bar within the restaurant. Its a beautiful old building with I believe was the old Liverpool exchange or Bank. I was also stayed in the hotel upstairs which is also very nice with 5 star breakfast. Ii would go back for a meal.
Lovely food, great ambiance. Had my own wedding here 2 years ago!
Great place for a drink and bar meal. In a grand but relaxed environment also has a sports bar with pool and table football.
The bread and bagel were stale. Little donuts were too dry probably stale too. The cheesecake was excellent.
Great atmosphere lovely decor, fab food and fabulous customer service. Especially from Zac who made us feel really welcome x
Fantastic food and lovely staff every time I visit. Thanks to David, Chloe and Maisie for making our daughters 16th so great
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Great food and helpful, friendly staff. Definitely be back, especially for the cocktails!
The menu looked very impressive. The location is good. The venue is impressive but the food was not so great to be honest and drink prices were very expensive.
Amazing place. Great food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit
I never knew Liverpool was so stylish! I went for a quick drink here only, but it had a great atmosphere amid a splendid surroundings
I had a very surreal experience at NYL. I arrived around 21:30 on a Saturday hoping for a drink at the bar before retiring to my hotel. When I arrived I was shown to the bar and took a seat, I waited for 10 minutes before I was told I wouldnt be served. I promptly left to go elsewhere. I was not told why but it felt very strange given the place was half empty and the staff were happily idling.
Had a roast. First one wasnt great but the manager happily changed it and gave us a free drinks and pudding. Setting is nice, just never seen it very busy.
Great place for afternoon tea. Staff very helpful and friendly. Definitely visit this place again to try out the restaurant.
The food is excellent and the service was excellent the service in the cocktail bar was very good especially by the barman David)(cubby
Had bottomless gin and tonic brunch, served by Rose, she was so friendly and gave us good advice, fantastic food, lovely atmosphere, will come again and definatly recommended.
Very good, great location and service. Food and drink are excellent. The private meeting, drinking mezzanine is a great addition and means you look down on the surroundings but have the closeness and intimacy of the private gathering you want.
The restaurant was very empty but the atmosphere was still great. Ffion served is and she was really lovely and attentive. The food was great, my son had the sea bass and he said it was one of the nicest meals he had ever had. I had the pork belly and it was perfect. The sides were huge too. We also had a sirloin steak and a burger, both gorgeous. Would return for defo and my adult sons hadnt been before and were really impressed with the venue and will return for drinks over the weekend. I want to come back for the afternoon tea. Nothing negative to say about this place. Really great experience.
Nice bar with live music on Friday, restaurant experience was poor, the food wasn’t great to be honest. Come here to drink.
Lovely place for a drink, staff made u feel welcome. Not sure on staff members name but Mick/Michael stood out. Looked after us during the Grand National weekend
Restaurant clean and tidy and the food was good, but for £25 a steak, it should be!Staff took far too long to bring our food over,45 minutes to be honest and the service was standard.Worst part of this experience was the extra charges they tried to put on the bill, £8.00 they had to refund us back.
Great atmosphere with fantastic food
Beautiful and dramatic high ceilings. Friendly staff and lovely food. They also accept tastecards which means 50% off food. Im going back.
Best duck youll ever eat.Terrible music choice...
Lovely interior, great service and good cocktails but the food wasnt great! I felt it really below par and not value for money.
Beautiful building. very helpful and polite staff. very clean. food looked amazing and reasonably priced. No reason not to recommend or revisit.
A great venue, friendly, professional staff and good food. An all round great place to have a comfortable, relaxed get together.
Service was great but the food on the other hand was pure trash. If you have any culinary standards avoid this place. I ate the well presented duck and politely reciprocated and vomitted it back out. Enough said
Staff very friendly.Had the 3 for £20 set menu early evening on a Sunday. Number of the menu options weren’t availableHad pate, burger and chocolate pave. Quality and price ok.Venue itself is stunning, I’d assume an old bank or something but it does make for a good setting.
Go for the early bird menu and save. Before 7 its 3 courses for £20 and 2for1 cocktails. Saved us about 40%Excellent food, good service
Wonderful atmoshpere and live band. The gin cured salmon with sorbet and beetroot was an absolute knockout. Seriously clever flavour and texture combinations that is worthy of a restaurant in far higher price bracket.
Great gin brunch.Food was delicious, the staff were friendly and efficient and the price was reasonable for what we had.I would be happy to go back again!
Although we were the only party in there the food was late being served, service not too good. Could be a great place if they get it right.
Trendy place. Good decor, good cocktails. Not tried the food.
Went for a Sunday roast offer. Main course and glass of prosecco for £10.The prosecco was the only good thing about It!Small cold portions. We sent it back to be warmed. Not much better and even less on our plate.Yorkshire pudding- Even Aunt Bessie would be horrified.Wouldnt even chance desert.Went elsewhere.Wouldnt return.
Went in for food and drinks.Food was very poorPasta was overcookedWe also had a cheese cake that was solid my partner couldnt bite through it... No joke...Burger was just rubbishReally would advise people to avoid this empty restaurant with slow staff and a chef that clearly carnt cook..
A bank holiday Sunday while the rest of the city was jumping this place was quiet. We had a dirty table that didnt get cleaned. Nice decor, but beer overpriced and lacked any kind of atmosphere.
The food was brilliant, the staff were friendly and its good value for money, however, if youre looking for somewhere quiet to eat, then this isnt the place for you, its got music and live singers and a good vibe, not the place for a quiet meal, but still fantastic and definitely going back!
Stunning building! We were in the private upper level bar attending a party, so only ate from the buffet but the quality was excellent. Drinks were expensive but no worse then any other classy bar/restraints around the city centre
