NIMMS RESTAURANT in Windhoek

The staff were lovely on both occasions I visited. The ombidi and pap were delicious. This is my second time having pap as we don’t have it where I came from, so I was excited to have pap again. And of course, there are great views of the city here!

I just had some drinks on the balcony, so I wont rate the food: cocktails were good and cheap (I recommend the triangle cocktailand the view is incredible. However the service was nice but pretty slow, even though it wasnt crowded. Still 5 stars because its a must do! (T least for drinks)

Been here several times. The last time I went there looking for place to sit and work and I was told there was no WIFI. Great view of the city. Perfect for sun downers. Over priced. Service not so good. Food is okay. I love the omalovu giilwa ( local oshiwambo traditional brewfrom here. Many of the traditional food always out of stock most of the time.

Great views of the city. Good place for sundowners but not so good for food or service, unfortunately.

Unexpected stunning view of Windhoek from all 3 corners of museum building with good choice of cuisine including traditional food of Namibia .. very friendly staff .

Ładny widok, bezwzględnie ciekawe muzeum na niższych piętrach. Na potrawy czeka się bardzo długo chociaż są dosyć proste ale smaczne. Warunkiem robienia zdjęć z tarasu jest złożenie zamówienia za co najmniej 150 N$. Widok jest mniej spektakularny niż z hoteli Hilton albo Avani bo nie widać właśnie tego budynku, który jest wizytówką Windhoek. Zbudowali go w 2014 budowniczy z KRLD jako dar.

The place is nice, but I waited almost 1,5h for breakfast. They wanted to give me a lemonade from tap water and at the end the terminal didn’t work, so I couldn’t pay by card. Really bad experience we had there

Service is mediocre and the food still requires improvement. However, the view over Windhoek at night is spectacular!

Amazing city view,But quite disappointed with the prices and food portions. I believe a restaurant of that setup and interior does not qualify for the prices. Please review menu prices or reconsider the food portions. The prices are inflated/ not relative.

Located on the 4th floor of the Independence Museum, you dont need to visit the museum to get to the restaurant. Great views of the city, decent wine selection, good customer service, and tasty kapana, although over-priced. If you want a cocktail order a gin and tonic; the "sour whiskey" cocktail was undrinkable due to a hilarious amount of lime zest.

The restaurant has a great menu and friendly staff. Also the best view of the city.

Its okay... I went there for a friends wedding. The setup was really nice.

Si quieres tomar una cerveza a media tarde y estás alojado cerca, no tienes muchas opciones en Windhoek. En el último piso del Museo Nacional hay una cafetería con unas vistas espléndidas sobre la ciudad. No están muy bien surtidos de variedad, pero la vista al atardecer compensa el haber llegado hasta allí.

The view is great, but the food is very expensive for very small portions. Dont come hungry.

The view onto Windhoek and the sunset is absolutely stunning! Sadly, the outside chairs and tables are neglected and need urgent repairs. Mostly wobbly and unstable. The bathrooms are also often in questionable condition.

One of the best restaurant for food and sight seeing in town.

I just had a beer so can’t comment on the food, the place was kept well and the view from the balcony is amazing.

It was decent enough. We were hungry after walking around windhoek and decided to go e this a try. The menu wasnt very descriptive of the dishes to tourists like us. And the waiter was unsure of the English words of many of the dishes, so we just ordered a random assortment of food. The lemon chicken breast was DELICIOUS. Some of the best chicken Ive had all trip. The greens tasted as though they had sand in them? They were gritty and crunchy. Not sure what that was about. The beans were pretty good as a side dish, and the nuts were confusing. All in all worth a try. It seems pretty hit or miss on the dishes if you cant read the menu. But the chicken breast would be my go tooEdit: and definitely go up there just for the view. It is spectacular!

If you are visiting the museum, you might want to get to the restaurant for the view, all you need is to buy something from the bar . They have western cuisines and Oshiwambo traditional food reasonable price. Very clean and quite restaurant.

Wonderful experience. Wait staff help me pick out a local dish to try and it was delicious in addition to an amazing view.

Bitterly disappointing. They do not know the difference between rump and fillet. We sent the meal back and they still charged us full price. Where is management? Waitress just shrugged her shoulders.

Dieses Restaurant ist ein Muss für alle die Windhoek von oben bestaunen wollen.Essen und Getränke waren klasse.Leider ist es nicht so gut besucht wie es sein müsste.Definitiv zu empfehlen.

Absolutely an amazing first time experience...great food with awesome customer service..and amazing view all around..
