Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, close to river!!!

Clean, large rooms located in an ideal (yet still quietlocation in Porto. Would stay here again if we visited Porto in the future.

Great hotel in general, but the room is a bit small compared to similar hotels (and I even paid for the premium room). In addition to that, they did not have rooms with queen beds when we checked in so my wife and I ended up in a room with 2 single beds side by side. It was the first time in my life I had this experience. Quite frustrating. But apart from that, the hotel is good. Parking is an issue though.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and have complimentary tea and coffee. Would come again and stay a few more days.

Location is great, close to cafe, restaurant sightseeing places in Porto, pool and sauna to relax, will definitely stay here again.

At 200 Euros a night youd expect better service.... Its a muddle at reception - no one seems to be in charge. The facilities are good although a cracked floor tile in sauna meant it was unavailable. Stayed in room 402, the view in one direction was excellent, the other view was poor. Bar looks well stocked and the breakfast bar was good. Never ate in the restaurant for dinner so cant comment. Area location is good....

Hotel was great and in a nice location however the ladies at reception are extremely unhelpful. I was struggling to find a way to get to Lagos and was told to catch the train as it’s the best and only way and there is always seats. When I returned from station I advised it was sold out they told me that’s possible but we’re unhelpful with a solution. I asked them to contact rental car place for me and I was told she would email and let me know - no one got back to me. It was only by chance an information agency in the streets of porto told me to get a bus to Lagos and I found a way there. It seemed like the hotel reception had a care free attitude and didn’t care that I was stuck without solution. The hotel advertised that there is a section to help and provide information but it’s not the case

Our room and the hotel were very clean. The breakfast was excellent with many wonderful choices.The down side: There are clearly communication issues.First:The reading lamp did not work. We asked for three days to have it repaired, we were even told on the second day of asking that it would be a priority. No one bothered. I really would have liked to use it. The manager wasnt available until check out and said they had the parts to replace, not sure why no one cared.Second: We booked leaving on a Sunday because we were offered a late 3:00pm check out as NH members. This was confirmed at check in. We made plans around this check out time. On Sunday we were told that this was not possible and we had to scramble and change our plans to be back early.The women who worked the front desk was clearly not happy that I kept asking for my lamp to work. Why not tell someone? Then I wouldnt have to bother her.If late check out is not possible why offer it to us?This is a nice hotel, some empathy and care along with communication would have made it a perfect stay.

This housekeeping service at this hotel is exceptional. Care was taken to fold my clothes, lay out my toiletries and the beds were made perfectly. Robs and slippers give a nice touch of luxury. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, excellent value for money.

We had a wonderful stay here in Porto. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was size-able with a cute balcony overlooking the square. We were pleasantly surprised by a nice welcome snack and hand written note upon entry to our room. I enjoyed the spa with a massage that was so relaxing I fell asleep during it! There are also some nice hotel perks with the Amex platinum. Highly recommend!

Stayed for 4 nights in May 2022. Great location, walking distance to the major attractions.A warm welcome and excellent service from all the front desk and bar staff - nothing was too much trouble.. even printing out my boarding pass for me and delivering it to the room.Room was comfortable and hot water flow consistent. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a casting function to the room televisions e.g. chromecast.Would definitely stay again.

We have found the NH Collection hotels to consistently be good. This one is ideally located. Close to the Ponte de Louis Bridge, the river front areas and other areas of interest. The staff are outstanding, mostly young, well educated and extremely well spoken and helpful. I must mention Raquel, Louis, Bruno, Tiago and Momica who were all very helpful. There were many other staff people were also outstanding and sets this hotel apart from others we have stayed at.

This place is great. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic, the rooms are very clean and contemporary, and the restaurant is surprisingly good. If you have a platinum amex card, you get some nice extra perks too. Worth staying here!

Loved this hotel, very comfortable, excellent location, and the staff was very helpful. The room was small, but not a problem for me. Very clean and chic. There are so many things to do in Porto and most of what I wanted to do was within walking distance. The hop on to off bus is right on the corner about 50 feet from hotel. The only place I wanted to visit that was far was the music center (casa da music). I did the 4pm English tour. I just took a taxi. I got turned around in town a couple of times, but there were tourist information booths everywhere. Slippers are complimentary, check with stay before taking.

Lovely hotel. All the staff was wonderful, attentive to any question or need that we had. Hotel in perfect location in Porto. If I were to visit again, this is where I would stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful charm hotel in the heart of the city, very clean rooms, spacious and comfortable, with nice room service, they have a wonderful restaurant, and if youre stroll around, they are loads of restaurants has well.

I stayed here for a few nights recently and if i am ever back in Porto , i would absolutely consider NH Porto Batalha again. Keep in mind NH Group has several properties in the same neighbourhoods , often next door or across the street from each other .The rooms in this hotel are relatively large by euro standards the mattreses are comfortable and the air conditioning works well , unlike a lot of other hotels i stayed at. Its super centrally located on Rue Santa Catarina and the Porto Metro .Im going to give a special mention about Sara Oliveira , guest relations manager at this property . She is very helpfull and more importantly she gets things done , no fuss or otherwise.

Beautiful, spotlessly clean rooms, very friendly, welcoming staff, hotel centrally located within walking distance to incredible sites to visit--the food was incredible--huge, tasty breakfasts!!! Loved this hotel!!!

Excellent hotel , great staff who pay great attention to detail ! I felt so welcomed during my stay and the amenities and cleanliness of the rooms were top notch I can’t wait to return. Lastly I’d like to thank Sara and her staff for the amazing stay and treatment they set the standard for what the hospitality industry should be!

Great hotel, in a great position to get all around the city, rooms are modern, clean, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and great hairdryers. Staff were also excellent, helpful and very polite. We will definitely be staying here again.

Central location near Sao Bento and the cathedral, the staff could not help us more. We had a lovely welcome drink of port at reception while they checked us in. Portugal is currently insisting of COVID certificates on check in. The rooms were clean and spacious with views across the square. Breakfast was timed in order not to overload in the breakfast area and there was a mixture of continental and cooked items. Thanks to Magda especially helping with check ins and printing forms/booking transport. A great hotel.

Had a wonderful experience during our stay. The staff was helpful, comfortable room and good breakfast. Very convenient location as well.

Central location, clean and convenient.Rooms were comfortable and the staff was extremely accomodating. We spent 4 days in Porto and didnt see the need to take the car out (they have a parking a few minutes away in another NH property). Everything is walking distance.

The room we had was nice and cleaned. However, the shower was leaking and all the bathroom got flooded. We went to the reception and they sent somebody, who however didnt manage to fix it. The TV wasnt smart so you have only normal TV channels and as our remote was completely out of battery when we checked in we asked at the reception to have a look before we went out for dinner. Once back I noticed the remote was in the very same position as I left it above the bedside table, and indeed it was still not working. When I went to complain they said they couldnt find the remote. I guess it can happen but it was in plain sight above the bedside table. Anyway, the hotel is new and location is super cool nearby the bus station, we had a big discount on the normal price and we were cool with that, but for the full price it would too much expensive.

Good hotel in a nice location and nice reception staff. Breakfast staff told us that we missed our booking slot as there was a mix up between them and reception who booked us the night before. We were offered an inconvenient out of the way table which was not great with children. Due to covid-19 restrictions, there was a queue for breakfast with only 2 people serving in a small area. I would NOT want that experience again especially that there are other options!

Very friendly and efficient check in. Great room..clean..balcony..view over square. I also had a massage in the Spa (with Anawhich was just brilliant. Would definitely stay again.

Updated review,After the below feedback I was contacted by Ms. Sara Oliveira, who thankfully approached me and asked about the concerns I had, immediately all concerns (except the location :)were sorted out. I also posted a picture of the nice gesture received. Having seen all such attention and professionalism, and to be honest and transparent i decided to amend my feedback and updated the star rating. Thank you Sara.The location of the hotel is good, but its a nightmare to find the entrance. The amenities are limited, there is only one bottle of water in the room while we are two people and when I asked for extra they wanted to charge me 5 euros per bottle. The staf in the reception were very cold and sort of aggressive at the beginning, the porter who helped me made up my first impression great his name was Recardo the one and only member of staff during my first impression that was supporting and helping and smiling and helped beyond his tasks . The AC in the room is noisy

Nice hotel recently refurbished so everything feels new. Location is extremely central and walking distance to some of the best parts if Porto. Reception staff could be more helpful, check in was a little rushed with no info about hotel facilities. Pool and spa area is ok but a little small. Jacuzzi wasnt working and sauna didnt work the second day which is disappointing.

We had a great stay! Beautiful building but even more lovely we’re the staff. Accommodating and friendly. Room is perfect size, clean and quiet. The curtains were also great blackout. No view to speak of if in a rear focused room which was fine with us. Location is fantastic. Near the shopping district, short walk down the hill to some great restaurants and also to the Luis Bridge top level for a great view.

We choose a family room with the view. It was wonderful stay with comfy beds and great view, stayed for my child’s birthday getaway and the hotel presented great service including birthday surprise which turned into very memorable one. Awesome location, as always NH doesn’t disappoint, great rooms, lovely beds for a nice sleep and good rest after touring around during the day.The only reason for taking away a star, on both checkin and checkout the staff seemed very rushed. On the contrary we also stayed at the Jardim NH in Porto and the staff were super friendly and chatty.

Excellent experience!Very convenient location, close to center and all spots of interest. The massage service is really good (thank you Susanna!). The rooms are spacious and well maintained and the staff are very professional and polite. Definitely added to our overall Porto experience!

We (a couplestayed at NH Collection Porto Batalha and it was an incredible and amazing experience.My wife and me had a very good stayed and as I was making many years as a couple, happy with our long term wedding, the hotel bring us with some special gifts that made all the difference.We strongly recommend NHVery good lactation, sweetie people, very good dishes and a special attention with the guests

Great hotel! Good location, staff helpful. Great shower! Breakfast is good with lots of selections. Very nice room...although they dont seem to have any USB charging ports, so bring your adapter.

This hotel is big and clean and has great service. It is centrally located in a beautiful plaza with another hotel, theater, cafes, and shops. It is within walking distance to a lot of sites including the river and the cathedral. The rooms are very modern but comfortable. There is breakfast every morning an the options are countless! There is also a restaurant in the lobby if you want to stay in, bu there are a lot of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. They but out free drinks and candies in the lobby daily as well. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful! If I am ever in Porto again, this is where I will stay!!!

Accessible, but a steep walk back from the waterfront. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Reception friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and modern with good facilities. My only criticism is that they lack character. Service was always efficient and friendly.

High standards are to be found in this hotel. Rooms are not specially big but they dont feel cramped. Its well isolated from the street noise although inner walls are a bit thin. The buffet breakfast is really good with a significant variety of sweet, salty, healthy choices.

A very beautiful hotel. I can highly recommend a stay in NH Collection Porto. Very good location in the center of Porto, beautiful old palazzo. But what makes the biggest impression is the friendly and welcoming staff at the hotel. They help you with everything you need and always smile while doing so. Great Experience.

We’d love to stay here but we didn’t as we were in Porto for just one night on a very quick visit! We came to NH for help to print out colored document so we can able to travel back to US! It was Sunday night and all public places were closed and the only color printers were in the major hotels! Help we got was immediate, absolute and unconditional! Fantastic personnel, location and the hotel! Love Porto, Portugal and NH!!!

Very conveniently located hotel near all the main attractions of Porto. The rooms are huge, very modern, extremely comfortable, and furnished with a coffee machine, tea, and a mini bar and safe. The washroom was luxurious and a real pleasure. Do opt for the breakfast plan, because their breakfasts are OUT OF THIS WORLD. So, so good... Everything was perfect but for the fact that the staff took a very long time to understand why the phone in my room wasnt working--I was the one who ended up diagnosing the issue (they just needed to change a cable). That was annoying. But they were very apologetic and the rest of the stay was a dream. Theres a small pool and exercise room downstairs and a spa as well. Lovely hotel.

Good location. Comfy beds. Good little balconies with interesting view. Excellent reading lights. Breakfast room needs a redesign when busy but plenty of options.

Cozy and very creative boutique hotel with a post office theme due to perhaps its past as a building of such. Charming lobby with an old portal integrated into the check-in areas. Clean and nicely decorated rooms with nice ammenities and minibar selection. Bathroom is equally nice with everything you could need. The rooms are a little small though but once you figure out how to position the luggage in the foyer, its a breeze getting around. I had a corner suite so there were 2 rooftop windows.I got to use the fitness center but unfortunately not the pool. The gym is very very small with 2 treadmills, 2 tvs, and a bench that was broken then. The bareness was in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel so it there was something they could do, it would be there.Otherwise a great experience. The breakfast buffet is not to be missed. The variety and quality... And quantity is great. Friendly, very welcoming and hospitable staff left me with a very pleasant first and lasting impression of Porto.

Fantastic smaller hotel centrally located in a former wine merchant palace. Well appointed rooms and excellent views out over the square. I youve booked a family room ask for room 402: huge wrap-around balcony with beautiful sunsets. Tomb silent after 11 - though count on seagulls waking you by 5 if youre a light sleeper.Welcoming and helpful staff and free port on arrival. Very good hotel.

Nice staff. Good breakfast. Small-ish rooms but with sizable bathroom. The location is great in the city center. The only thing lacking is the spa/swimming pool/gym. Its crammed underground and therefore everything is ridiculously small. You cant swim in the pool (push off one side and you have arrived on the other side), the saunas have you sitting facing right at the door, no possibility to lie down, or even be in there with more than one person. The gym is also super small. They have a fridge there for water during work outs like all nh hotels, but it wasnt stocked.

Rooms are spacious for Europe. The restaurant isnt that great. Id search further afield for food. You have to park in a lot elsewhere. Good luck finding the access road in front of the hotel with GPS. Also, the front desk will not answer their phones. I had them hang up on me three times when trying to find the place.

This really is a tale of two experiences.The hotel itself was great, and the breakfast was excellent, with attentive staff.I marked the hotel down from five stars, as we had some unfortunate experiences with the reception staff. We had asked for their help in calling some port houses to arrange tours. They werent able to get through whilst we waited, so they committed to calling us back later in the day. We never heard back from them.We also tried to arrange tours through them, and again didnt hear back from them again and had to pester them three times to get a tour arranged.The hotel was quite busy (which may offer some excuse), and whilst all staff were very pleasant to deal with, I feel the lack of communication from them could have led to some disappointment had we missed tours.

Superb location for a city break.The hotel feels new, everything is polished and perfect. The room we stayed in had a Juliet balcony looking over the square. Excellent bed, cot provided for babies (superb quality), coffee machine and pods and a great bathroom with double sink.The spa pool was a great addition and staff were helpful and friendly.Cant fault
