NALA's Mexican Food - Tex-Mex restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
I ordered a veggie burrito bowl on Uber Eats. It was ok, but not many beans. I paid 65nt to add guacamole and got about a teaspoon! What a joke.
Had a large chicken burrito with less rice. I like their chili salsa and the corn inside. The taste of chicken is also very delicious! Overall pretty good!
Ate here mid week and was a bit disappointed. It was tasty but the burrito barely had any meat. It was packed full of the rice and lettuce which I understand are important ingredients but it felt like they really avoided giving much meat to save money.
Okay for Mexican food in Taipei, but small portion size, okay price, okay flavour, everything was kind of just okay. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Wouldn’t seek it out
Decent pricing compared to other Mexican restaurants in Taiwan. Great margaritas!
Cute little shop. Not much seating, and some customers post up for over an hour playing on their phones. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
Today I order the burritos with set (chips and drinks), clerk speaks English and Mandarin very well and friendly! Place is small. Portion is good (enough for 1 people)Price is cheaper, compared to any other Mexican food. However, the place is small, not suitable for dine in. The burritos taste good (for me), but it doesnt really represent Mexican dish. It is more to Asian taste in Mexican restaurant 😂 the rice is not stick together and its just like normal white rice with some sauce around it. So probably the foreigner will feel like its not authentic. But it taste of for me! Ingredients is quite a lot, not stingy! Some Mexican sauce were available there for us to add by yourself, chips is standard, tomato dipping sauce is okay! Will come back again for sure :)
Great Mexican food, vegetarian options are quite flavorful. They have a little table inside, which fits 5 people. The place is located right outside of the MRT, very convenient!
Amazing place! Very welcoming staff and great atmosphere. The food is delicious and you don’t have to wait for ages. Highly recommend. Bonus points for the location!
I just dined here ATM and I thought the food tasted pretty fresh and was pretty good. Definitely recommend you give it a shot 🌮🌮❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Blink and youll miss it, and then youll be sad. Because it is pretty darned good mexican good. And that is not easy to find in Taipei. The burrito was the perfect size, not chipotle big, but not small either. Ingredients are fresh, and my spicy bit not too spicy was just perfect.
This place is bad. I ordered something and I got 3 things messed up. The Mexican latte is suppose to be spicy. It wasnt one bit. The dining area is wide open and has a plastic screen allowing bugs to get in. Cold weather can get in and rain can go through the plastic screen. The plastic screen will make the place hotter than outside. Bad condition and they can not get things right.
Delicious, amazing food and good hot chocolate! Actually good Mexican food. Would recommend!
Generally pretty good and would’ve given 4 stars but I really couldn’t taste or see the guacamole for an extra $45 for my burrito. Have confirmed with staff it was added, so it was probably a rather thin layer.
Mexican food gets a bad rep in Taiwan. Waited 15 min for them to tell me they don’t have rice and can’t make a burrito.
Freshly made burritos with a nice vibe.
I have ordered 2 tacos with extra chips n soda as a combo.Unfortunately, the pull beef is the only good part (tortilla is coldthat I got. The chips is the type that selling a whole pack 1kg for NT200 in Costco. Secret recipes Salsa? Im not sure about that. NT90 is too much for chips n soda, I can get cheese + salsa + jalapeno on chips n soda combo in 西門町
What a nice surprise! I thought the other reviews were quite harsh, complaining that the flavors are not authentic. Weird considering the restaurant is listed as tex mex. The prices were decent especially for Mexican food in Taipei and our tacos and burritos were tasty. Very fresh! And the staff was friendly.
Not very good. 90% of it is lettuce and rice. Just take a look at all the photos and you can judge for yourself. The flavors are all also not authentic. Like the owners themselves say its nalas version of Mexican food. Mediocre food, terrible attitude, stingy portions. Better to spend your money elsewhere
Usually, I ordered Chicken burrito and Nachos as my lunch sometimes, Nalas offers light flavors.
Very good Mexican food👍🏼 I tried their Mexican bowl, burrito, and tacos. All are very good, and the services are good too. Highly recommended 😋😋😋
Small but cosy place and has very good burritos and soft tacos, I went back for seconds..
Delicious! Got a burrito bowl and cinnamon chocolate drink but was still a little hungry so added some nachos. ;I recommend the burrito bowl the most.
Okay I don’t normally leave bad reviews but I went there almost a year ago, got tacos and regretted it immediately. The taco had rice in it. That wasn’t the worst part though. It was just really bland and honestly tasted like a 7-11 burrito. The staff that worked there that day was terrible. They ignored us so we had to kind of raise our voice just to get their attention. Would not come back. I’ve also read some reviews and saw the feedback from the owner. Very hostile.
I really like the foods here! Highly recommend the soup ☺️
Highly recommended!Barely could get such amazing Mexican food at a fair price in Taipei.
Owners are super friendly. We had their burritos, tacos, and burritos to bowl with different types of meat. My favorite is the spicy beef. 😊
A nice Margarita on a hot day.... priceless!!!!They moved a few meters.... Now with a few seats. I ordered two tacos. O e chicken and one vegetarian. What I got is 4 tacos.... 2 chicken and 2 veggie. Both (all fourwere cold. Too bad the quality slipped with the move.
Overall pretty solid. Menu has expanded but prices have stayed on the cheap side so theres good value in grabbing food here. They recently renovated to a larger space with more seating which makes eating there a lot easier as was often not possible with the few chairs they had at the front counter. Always enjoy the food so usually drop by if Im in the area.
Burritos came out lukewarm. Wish there was more meat inside, but maybe that was because I didnt buy the meat add-on. Not sure if salsa was already in the burritos, but no salsa option was given other than if I wanted the burrito to be spicy. Theres a nice 3-person shaded area to eat but no water. Accepts Line Pay.
Restaurant skimps on portions when ordering “extra”.They don’t add any extra is you pay for a “large” bowl on Uber eats. Neither extra beans nor extra salsa. It’s sad that the owner doesn’t do anything about it. They claim to look at the camera and say we gave you extra. But the portion of ingredients is the same as if we order the same bowl as “regular” on Uber eats. So what are we paying for under “large”?2 pieces of corn ?Reply to owner: pathetic. I don’t post false reviews. FYI: it is possible to take out everything from a delivery plastic container, put it in a bowl and take a photo before eating. For future business perspective: how about being honest for a change ? You’re not providing what you charge for, plain and simple.
Don’t get the combo. The amount of tortilla chips you receive is just sad. It’s cheaper to go to Jason’s down the street and buy chips there. Burritos are usually pretty good tho. 150 for the chicken is decent, usually what I get.
I want to like this place. Its a charming little roadside burrito stall. The main ingredients are well seasoned but unfortunately you can barely taste it because the burrito itself is 80% constituted of just a big hunk of cold rice that tastes like its been sitting out all day. I guess thats what you get if you order the large size...
Ive been curious about this place since I saw it on Uber Eat. The menu didnt look very authentic so Ive never ordered. I went to a neighboring liquor store today. I thought I check it out while there. I has a pork and a beef taco and a couple margaritas. As I had suspected, the tacos werent very authentic, but they tasted surprisingly good. I am not a huge fan of Chipotles (the McDonald of Mexican food), and this place modelled their product after Chipotles. Surprisingly, the tacos tasted really good. The margaritas also good and the staff were friendly and nice. I had a great time here. Hence the five stars. I also brought home 8 tacos for my family. :). Definitely a place Id go back.
The portions are small and that’s okay, what really needs improvement is the amount of ingredients. There is a lot of white rice and just drops of salsa and beans. This isn’t Tex-Mex..the contents are not horrible but the portions are cheap. I would prefer if the owner increased the prices but actually use the proper amounts of ingredients.
Very good food at reasonable prices, though it depends a lot on who makes it. Some are a bit more stingy.
Delicious and affordable burritos. Got the veggie one. Waiting time is a bit long during the weekends but it’s fine. Staff were kind.
We ordered the bowls, quite disappointed. The portion is small. Not recommend if you want the bowls like chipotle because it was nothing like that. Salsa tasted weird also. We might try burritos next time.
The food tastes really great. I usually get the chicken bowl, the price is reasonable too. The location is really convenient!
20200401: Came back here recently and standards are consistent. Tried carnitas mexican salad (TWD 119and chicken soft tacos (TWD 109). Both were good.20191008: Ordered a carnitas burrito for TWD 119. I made a point to ask for it to be heated up. They assured me that they would heat it but it could still be warmer.Good service attitude and portion size. Worth a try.The food is 4/5 star but the value proposition is impressive. Have yet to find "wow" Mexican food in Taiwan.
Their tacos are an insane value for the Taipei area with a good taste and decent size. Very flavorful, but not a traditional Mexican or Cali-Mex style taco. I loved them personally. The burrito is large and the nachos were a close second to the burrito and tacos. Only con is the seating area. I think Mexican food is always better eaten warm and fresh but that can be a challenge when all the seats are taken. This was a minor issue because Im more then happy to stand and munch. Yummy!
One of, if not the best mexican food I have had anywhere in the world. The staff was very friendly and helped us with other great spots to visit and eat in the area. Worth every dollar.
Very fresh and light Mexican salad bowl. I had the pull beef salad bowl with guacamole. It was very delicious. I would expect if they will offer salad bowl with steak someday. Yummy!
Good Mexican food in Taiwan! The meat was delicious and everything went well together.
Passed by this place previously and thought it had potential. Upon visiting at a later date, I was extremely disappointed.A couple of things of note:-While waiting for my friend, I noticed one of the workers coughing without a mask and then immediately proceed to make someone’s food. I realize it’s a small place but that’s a huge issue for me-There’s only 2-3 seats and most of their customers get to go-You have to approach them to order as it’s not really apparent where to go to orderOverall, the food was priced decently so I decided to overlook these other issues and order. I immediately realized I was going to regret my decisions. The burritos they served me and my friend were half hot, half cold. I’ve never had a burrito served like this and was immediately skeptical. After I took a couple of bites, the entire thing began falling apart even when I held it firmly. The tomatoes they use for their salsa really need to be diced up more. The chips they give you to dip into the salsa cannot handle the huge chunks of tomatoes and it was not a fun time, especially on their little table.Overall, I had a pretty bad experience here but it may have been isolated. If they’re willing to change these things or I hear from someone else that they have changed, I’d be willing to come back. But as of now, I would NOT come back and will not be recommending this place to anyone.
A lil bit expensive compared with the common price for a lunch in tw. Not that good but if u wanna try Mexican food maybe just try the burrito as snack.
Personally I don’t like Mexican food. However, this one is yummy and I’m impressed. Love the CANTINAS!Location: close to MRT.Service: only 2 seats available at the bar. Therefore most of people make togo.Food: 5 stars. (Yummy!)Environment: similar to food stand. Only street view is available.Recommended for a quick bite or to-go! :-)
We ordered a burrito and soft tacos and they are both pretty good. There are only two seats so most people order to take away. You can sit down at nearby Chiang Kai-shek memorial to enjoy the food.
Best "Mexican" food in Taipei for price. Most similar to Chipotle (with choices of burritos, burrito bowls, salads, or tacos... no quesadillas though). A regular burrito with chicken can cost $109, Vegetarian is only $99! Margaritas are also good and strong, and only around $150. The people who run the shop are super nice. There are two seats in front, but its also a short walk to CKS memorial if you want to get to go.
If youre missing chipotle, this is your best bet so far in Taipei. (And btw, Juanitas used to be alright but is a huge disappointment. Just try their guacamole and youll know. Better yet dont )The burritos at NALAs is pretty good too. I always get the bowl with guacamole for something more filling.
