Myeong-dong Street in Koyang
Description
Privilege
Recommended if you want to taste different things. The best experience will be in the evening when it is dark - even it is crowded than.
MoreGreat shopping and foods street, if it’s your first time in Seoul I think you have to check out.
MoreEating and shopping, lots of fun.
Loved the vibe, totally! And it rained in the evening too.... Made me fall in love with Seoul all over again!
MoreTheres no doubt that Myeongdong has been so developed that it feels touristic and commercialized. Lots of visitors from all countries at any time of the day. Most interesting things to do here is to:1. Shop2. Shop some more3. Shop till you dropFrom cosmetics, Korean groceries, apparels, shoes, etc - youre bound to find something that would interest you. Along the way, there are some pretty good cafe and restaurants. For first timers to Seoul, Id recommend staying around this area.
MoreSafe shopping district! Food and coffee are delicious. In every corner theres tourist police! There were information volunteers who can guide you where you want to go! Will definitely choose this area again when I visit again.
MoreLate September, 2022, people are still wearing masks but this place was packed on a Sunday. Lots of vendors, plenty of great street food and shops everywhere are open and full of people. Prices here are high, similar items run hlf the price, elsewhere. Still, its a fun experience to get out and about for people who want to mingle with crowds again.
MoreThis is a MUST when coming to Seul! Many streets around have a lot of shops and street food of different sorts. You will only be able to pay by cash so make sure to get some before going there! Restaurants around the neighborhood accept cards but street food locals only accept cash. Dont worry too much about where to eat because all places have amazing food and prices are not expensive!
MoreFantastic spot for food stalls and odds and ends. Also the tourist helpers are usually here everyday - they are really helpful and very friendly.
MoreNot crowded as I expected. Streetfood is wonderful
This is the best place for shopping and trying street food, a lot foreigners are roaming around, good prices cor almost everything you want to buy, korean cosmetics hub with good prices. Time to time they have amazing offers like BOGO, more than 50% discount
MoreOne of our favourite places. Laods of stalls selling souvenirs and make up shops! Theres a mask shop at every corner with loads of deals! Food here is incredible too!
MoreGood street vendor food, lively atmosphere in the evenings with music and market bustle, fun shopping area! So easy to go from shop to shop!
MoreGreat place to walk at night to check out the street vendors. Lots of food vendors. Its of course very touristy, but I cant deny the good times I had with my family here. Lots of good street food. I highly recommend the chicken kabob skewers. That was the best chicken I had while in Seoul actually. The stuffed croissant cookies filled with chocolate sauce were amazing. You must try those!
MoreNice place for sight seeing
So many shop are empty, or move out.Not as crowded as before covid started.Really pity to see this pandemic cause so much different.
MoreI got here by 7pm. Everything is closing. Just wasting time
Cute cats, nice host, drink included. And very clean!
I heard a lot about covid shutting this place down but, though I never visited pre-covid, its definitely up and running now!Every shop you could possibly need starts here, from Zara to dalgona stalls, it really has it all! Even if it has changed from pre-covid, its definitely worth a visit for whatever you need
MoreOn the positive side, it’s not too crowded now but that is because there are so many empty store places. It gives it a bit of a getto feel. Weird because the businesses that are still there are the big companies like Nike etc. So certainly not what it was four years ago. I hope it picks up.
MoreSad to see that Myeong-Dong shopping street is not as bustling as before due to covid situation.Manage to come to this street for a visit ever still travel restriction relax, however, some of the skin care shops and clothing stores are no longer around.Hopefully covid situation will improve and travel restrictions will relax further so that more people can come.
MoreGood place for shopping and street food
This is the best shopping paradise in Korea
COVID has changed the shopping landscape completely, with almost all beauty shops shuttered (with the exception of Olive Young). Feels like a ghost town. Lots of construction noises though, so hopefully they will reopen in the near future.Dont expect to find any of the usual cosmetics shops here, although many of the food businesses have survived and are still open.
MoreBest area for tasting local food and some very good shopping area. The street gets really busy in peak hours.
MoreProbably my favorite part of Seoul. You can leave me here for a day and Id be OK. 😂 Tons of streetfood choices! Cheesy grilled scallops, candied Strawberries, red bean pancakes, theyve got it all. My o ly regret is that I shouldve made a list of all the streetfood I wanna try, I had no idea I missed a lot of great eats! And my gosh, the shopping, the SHOPPING!!! 😍 Its divine, every recovering shopaholics worst nightmare 😂 cosmetics, accessories, tech, fashion... Theyve got ti all! But my faves had to be SPAO as theyve got loads of fandom items from Harry Potter, to Sailor Moon! And the 3CE hotel style store, so cute and chic! 🧡 😍

MoreNice and live upscale shopping area...they have English speaking guide for the tourist on the street. Cosmetic lovers paradise.
MorePlenty of shops that youll get lost if youre not familiar with the place. A bit quiet as compared to usual probably because of the virus. Also be aware of people handling free facial mask or leaflets as they might get you to shop or join some unknown society.
MoreFantastic place to do shopping for name brand products and clothes as well as shopping for anything you can think of from street vendors at very low prices. You can also buy and eat many different types of food. You can buy chicken, cheese, corn, ice cream, seafood, pork, fruit, potato rings, and so many more types of delicious food you cant stop eating. There is always a lot of people around, music, and an atmosphere that just invites anyone around. You can come here for lunch, dinner and maybe some early breakfast in the middle of the night. MoreMyeong dong is heaven for cosmetics, perfume and make up etc. If you are visiting korea then its a must visit. Also if you cross street towards namdeong market. You will find trolley vendors who sells cheap and good looking clothes.
MoreIt is a good place to gather with friends and family. There are plenty of stuff that everybody can enjoy: street food, skin care products, earings, restaurants, ice cream, accessories, fried chicken, pub, and bar. Or you can just enjoy walking around to see how live ly this neighbourhood is.
MoreLots of small stores to buy all types of stuff, specially skin care products. Many restaurants and places to grab a bite or tasty dessert
MoreVery crowded. Better to come in the morning before the tourists get here. Lots of food samples which are ideal for tough decisions. Tax refund available on site for purchases more than W30,000. Physical passport must be presented. You have up to 3months to request for a tax refund receipt which you present at the airport before departure for tax refund. Remember!
MoreA place to shop a lots. Do more survey before buying. Some shops sell much cheaper. Only if you got plenty of time. Overall, this place is awesome and never been quiet and always alive until late night. Come only around 10am above as that is the operation time start.
MoreWhat can I say - street food galore! If youre coming here at night, definitely go on an empty stomach as youd be bound to starting filling up on snacks. Also you have an abundance of your usual cosmetic chains, so also come with an empty backpack.
MoreStreet foods here are over hyped. Food here are very very expensive. The cheapest street food here is 2000 Korean won which is roughly $2 and that is just the simplest tiniest food here. Others are as expensive as KW15,000 (the lobsters). Clothing goods and beauty products are available almost everywhere here. Expect very few discounts. At night, this place is so beautiful with all those bright and colorful lights. I remember Tokyos Shibuya district when i went here.
MoreA must visit place in Seoul! It is so lively and open till very late! Some shops open early at around 9am. With hundreds choices of shopping, eating, coffee sops, massage a.d hotels for your selection. Many shops have some mandarin speaking staff. Some can speak English. Can come here everyday!
MoreYou can certainly find all the famous Korean street food here from fish cakes and mini kimbab to 13-cm soft serve ice cream. The price was on the high side but as expected from very touristy area!
MoreShopping Haven for ladies! Also a high class street market for everyone. How I wish I could go there again with more time and less disturbance from little ones! Affordable cosmetics and beauty products to fruits to tempura to toys to grilled cuttlefish! Everything!

MoreVery busy street market with lots of vendors selling amazing food. They sell squid, lobster, yakitori, sweets, ice cream etc. The shops around are open till late too, so you have a great vibe. A must visit market!
MoreAmazing outdoor market close to the Myeongdong station. It seems to cover the whole area where you have a series of food stalls as well as clothing, souvenir or sock stalls sprinkled among them. The shops line the edges of the street which can sell plenty of things like beauty products or clothing. There are also restaurants hidden around the area if you were wanting a place to sit down and rest for a bit. There were plenty of people so it was quite lively. It was a really enjoyable experience and came back a couple of times to just look around, shop and eat.
MoreGreat place for shopping. It has a vibrant atmosphere, loud music and lots of people. If you like products for your face you will find it here. Lots of food vendors. Recommended for all.
MoreThe street market has tons of vendors selling delicious local street foods. The prices were a bit higher than expected for street food, but nothing ridiculous or unreasonable. The atmosphere is nice and the smells are very aromatic and help guide you towards the food you want.
MoreThe place to be for Korean street food and Korean Shopping especially beauty products. Korean beauty shops are lined up, one after the other, its just heaven for ladies (and some men)! Street food is interesting but a bit expensive. Scallops grilled with cheese and butter and baked lobster are even available as street food. Tourist assistance is also available on street ends.
