My Mother's Daughters - Vegan restaurant in Belas, Portugal
Really good menu, lovely food. Great setting. I’d go here again in a heartbeat
The best vegan place in Lisbon! Food, coffee and service was amazing! Every meal was made with so much love. Also the restaurant is made beautifully and the outside area is also really relaxing.
We are about to leave My Mother’s Daughters in a few minutes. The place is a delight. Very warm and cozy, the staff is very friendly yet not intrusive, and the page looks like a work of art. Do checkout the bathroom, even if you don’t need it. 😸We haven’t had time to enjoy a full meal, but we had a delicious plant-based cheesecake and a nice banana bread which we enjoyed with oat milk matcha lattes. A total treat.Would be super happy to come back and try the food which sounds fantastic.Thank you for the experience ❤️Plant Power! 💪🌱
Good ingredients, high quality food.No sugar, no gluten, vegan options.Lots of parking options.Cozy interior. One of my favourites in Lisbon.
I went for a trail shif and after 10 minutesI runned away after being able to see how one of the owners was treating their workers. Terrible treatment! A very important aspect of the sustainability promotion (what they say is one of their goalsis the human relations, and this place goes in the opposite direction. Even though I am vegan and very into healthy and sustainable food, I dont recommend this place at all
Great service and nice location, but the food we had was overpriced, too little to be filling, and not very impressive - the kind of indian style vegan food that you can get for a fraction of the price and in higher quality around Martim Moniz.
Extremely interesting menu, wanted to order everything. Good matcha, amazing burrata with bread, but miso soup was tasteless and raw cacao cake seemed bitter
This a hidden gem. Food was amazing with natural ingredientes. People are very welcoming and warm. I had a hot bowl made with chick peas , lentils, mushrooms, basil, and some other ingredients that was perfect for the October chilly weather. Definitely one of my favorite food in Portugal. PS, capuchino was very aromatic and delicious.
We enjoy our food at this place, nice vegan/vegetarian selection that is creative and yummy. One drink didn’t arrive although it was on the bill, so watch out there. The food is good enough to give 5*.
Lovely family owned café, with a menu that challenges the misconception that vegan food cant be healthy nourishing and insanely delicious. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. If I ever come back to Lisbon, Im definitely visiting again.
Truly a delightful find and great escape from the giant El Cortes Ingles shopping mall. The menu is very interesting and each dish is made with great care for flavor, texture and visually appealing. The vegan menu offers a wide variety of options from sweet to savory and definitely inspires some new combinations to consider. I enjoyed to vegan omelette made with chick pea flour stuffed with mushrooms and tomato. We also enjoyed the Earth bowl that offered different flavors reminding us of a good tasting chili. Also we tried the chia bowl which was yummy. The service was delightful and it was evident everyone cared about the quality of the food and experience. Would highly recommend.
Sadly, i havent even tasted the food...Booked place for 2 adults plus a baby stroller, no one ever told me that was not possible. Arriving to the restaurant we encounter a very small and crowded place, no room for stroller, very hot inside. Also no nursery to change the baby.We had to leave without eating due to lack of conditions.
A restaurant with so much potential. Unfortunately overpriced. Paid 13€ for an extremely simple salad, no way that’s the real value.
Instagram food for high prices. Very nice service, food was good but tiny portions. If they would either change their pricing or their portion size they would deserve 4 stars.
Homemade food. Enjoyed the cozy interior. Delicious food. We had the pizza pepperoni, the pumpkin special, chickpeas, cacao cake, sweet potato with spinach. We loved the blue tea!!
Very interesting selection of food and drinks, like a “toast without bread” and other cool things. We were pleasantly surprised. Staff is friendly, and it’s always busy - people love it.
Very nice vegan café. It’s in a less touristy area and has a very calm atmosphere. The cashew burrata was muito saboroso!
Portions were small for the price, but high-quality ingredients and everything was tasty without being too salty or over-flavoured, and I loved that they had healthy alternatives to wheat like chickpea flour ‘omelette’ and mung bean ‘wrap’.
Wonderful! Nice variety of vegan dishes, friendly service, very nicely decorated and everything done with sustainability in mind. Highly recommended.
Wonderful, delicious food. I have never eaten in such a good vegan restaurant. Cozy place
I’ve been missing fresh vegetables, seems odd, but it’s hard to get a fresh & interesting salad or healthy vegetarian meal in Portugal. This place is super cute, sit inside or outside, turmeric shots, veggie juices & quinoa salads. Absolutely recommend if your in need of some veggies.
We ate here on our last day in Lisbon and couldnt have asked for a better experience. The person who served us was super sweet and everything we had was so tasty, I couldnt stop smiling and saying "this is the best meal ever". We shared the Burrata ao pesto, the mungo beans wrap and the toast no bread. Everything was very flavorful and delicious.I had a smoothie that tasted just like how I remember a Snickers bar tastes, it was very creamy and rich.
I got the earthy bowl and it was tasty, light but still wholesome and enough filling for a lunch break. The raw brigadeiro cake was exceptional! Super friendly atmosphere and staff. Lovely venue and patio.
A cute little place with friendly staff and delicious food. We started with the burrata made from cashews, with pesto and vegan sourdough bread. Highly recommend. The vegan cheese was creamy and the bread was incredible. My husband had the no toast dish which is slices of sweet potato topped with hummus. Wonderfully flavored and the sweet potatoes were tender.I had the omelet made with mushrooms and roasted tomatoes and a side salad. The omelet is more like a thick crepe as it is made with chickpea flour. While I found the omelet itself to be kinda plain, the mushrooms and tomatoes were seasoned perfectly. I topped it with what remained of the burrata and it really made the dish pop.The day we visited the temp outside 34 c which is important because the inside of the restaurant can get warm as there appeared to only be a ceiling fan cooling the tiny place off.
Great place to have delicious, healthy meals. We stopped a few times during our stay in Lisbon. We felt very welcome.Their coffee and cakes are yummy too.Do not miss this place if you are in Lisbon.
Delicious, nutritious and creative options at this top quality Lisbon restaurant. I would highly recommend to anyone who cares about what they put in there body. Friendly service from the waiters too.
Ookay but don’t go there if you are hungry :)Very small and light portion - and I’m usually not complaining about dish sizes.Taste was okay but nothing special. A bit pricy.
My happy place in Lisbon for high quality healthy food. Larissa and the staff are always so pleasant!
Such a cute little vegan, organic, and sustainable cafe/restaurant! The staffs are very nice and bring a chill vibe, they encourage you to take your time to enjoy the indoor and outdoor space especially on a nice day. The food portion is small but filling due to natural ingredients. Its perfect for people who want to try something unique and new! Arrive early to get their full menu.
First place in Lisbon with free water. (With orange)Reminded me of Greece.Tasty, friendly, cute. 👍
This is an astonishing vegan place! Menu is unusual, changing every season and doesn’t contain any “dead” food (from packaged sources). They use almost all local ingredients and overall quality of prepared food is excellent. My chickpea omelette was perfect, with a little crust and texture as in real egg omelette. You should try their variety of drinks with local sourced ingredients as well. Usage of activated charcoal as a probiotic is nice too.Overall I’m surprised and very enjoyed. Wish this place all the best
Very cozy vegan restaurant. The staff is very gentle and helpful, and the food tastes delicious.
Great place for plant based food! Went there for brunch and I definitely will be coming back. Great service, tasty food and reasonably priced.
Nice service. Yummy food.Raw cocoa tart is made with dates and pumpkin seeds.
My friend recommended me this place inside it was her favorite place to eat in Lisbon! And she was not wrong it was so delicious and so healthy. I had the sweet potato toast, the soup of the day, and the turmeric latte. All just felt so infused with so much love and nutrition. I wish I had this café where I live because I would be there every day.
It should be illegal to have a vegetarian food taste this good ! Absolutely stunning ! Cosy, friendly, delicious and generous servings 👍
Fantastic food (great for anyone including vegan and vegetarian preferencesin a cute little off-the-beaten-path spot. A wonderful oasis. Highly recommend!
Simply amazing - such a great vegan food, a very cozy place with both inside and outside sitting areas, and very kind staff. The staff speaks English. One can pay by card. We were offered hand sanitizer and everyone from the personnel wore masks - much appreciated.
The food is really high in quality but the portions are way to small. So if you’re hungry I am pretty sure you won’t be satisfied. We even had a starter and a main course. Tast And quality gets 5 stars but portions 2. Friendly owner as well 5 stars .
Tasty and healthy food in a charming ambient. My favorite was the sweet potato dish. They also make an excellent banana bread! Must try : we went for breakfast and for lunch another day.
€37 for what you see here including the two small smoothies on the right. Food was nice but the portions were tiny and not worth their pricetag at all! Top (€12), bottom (€13). €6 for a small smoothie. Pretentious pricing and youll still be hungry after! Staff were nice but wont be back and wouldnt recommend it if in Lisbon.
The menus are very unique but i recommend to reserve before bc its small inside and crowded. I liked the eggplant roll and carrot puree
Delicious vegan food in a cozy/relaxing atmosphere. Has a daily special (different every dayand a standard menu. There is a good selection of natural juices and excellent desserts. Limited seating available, both inside and outside. Friendly and efficient service. Glass organic-shaped ceiling lamps with water inside give a nice touch to the decor. Highly recommended.
The food - we tried three different dishes:1.The Panini which was AMAZING and a must have for all the vegans the miss their cheese toast.2.The probiotic yogurt which was really nice and tasted like a regular yogurt.3. The omelet which was the letdown. Was really dry, the salad saved it but I would not recommend getting it.The plating of the food is really something and feels like every dish gets taken care of with passion. The restaurant - looks lovely and has an inside and outside siting areas, we sat at both and when it’s sunny without wind I would highly recommend sitting outside, also the bathroom is really cool.Price - bit on the high end of things. If you are a vegan - go to my mothers daughters and buy the panini, you won’t regret it.
This was my first time and it was absolutely delicious. The food is of high quality ingredients and made with care for sure. The staff was super friendly and professional. I sat outside there was nice sun and a nice breeze. Its on a quiet street so very enjoyable. I will definitely come again.
Lovely little place. Reached here just after half 1 on a Wednesday afternoon and we were lucky to happen across an empty table outside - this place is clearly popular! I had the earth bowl which was delicious, I only knock one star off because it was so delicious I couldve done with more (especially the caramelised mushroomsfor €13. Staff were very friendly and understanding of my failure to understand more than 3 words of Portuguese. Would recommend for a quick/light lunch.
Got there to this cosy place, greeted by friendly staff and eager to try their food. Got a bit over excited and ordered to much bread, which was good, but it got to heavy with their egg-tofu toast and a creamy cheese thingy. Drinks were nice, but all was a little bit expensive. Loved the restroom though!
Tasty, healthy, hip! This chic little eatery with outdoor seating is a glorious spot to dine healthily and receive friendly service. Everything was so good!! Glad a spot like this is around. A must got any vegan foodie!
Nice and cosy place. Good service, tasty and healthy food.Updated from previous review on 2018-09-19Pros: Tasty food (Benedict no Eggs was great), Good serviceCons: Flies when sitting outside
A fantastic vegan restaurant run by a wonderful family - a mother and two daughters. My own mother and I happened to walk by this spot - the name drew us in! Even though they were closed, the owners very graciously let us in to chat about their food. We made a reservation immediately for a few days later. We just left 5 minutes ago and I had to share how fabulous the food is. If you’re in Portugal, this is a must do. We ended up getting dessert for takeaway after being absolutely stuffed on our awesome main meals. The only downside is that we didn’t find them sooner! Their food is unique, delicious, and nutritious.
