Wow! A slice of heaven. Whether you like trains or not, make time and visit.
Wow! Impressive! Huge square footage, detailed information everywhere. Beautiful trains on display. Cool techy displays with 3d models. Great looking interior building. This is by far the most clean and well designed museum Ive ever been in.
MoreOne of the best museums we’ve been to!The number of different trains belonging to different epochs are impressive and all this in the purpose build building!! Its kids friendly and educational. Recommend!
MoreMost amazing museum Ive ever seen!!
An impressive collection, but not very interactive and hence rather boring for kids. Very few trains can be inspected closely, climbing onto or into the rest is strictly probibited.
MoreThat is my first time in bullet train .that was so good ..the service is same as airplane service .the speed of train was unbelievable. Food was so good .the train was so clean .they provide bottles of water headphones. And food
MoreYou see a brand new Museum in old and new former Railroad Locomotive Repair Buildings.Around that a hypermodern new Building.A complete set of Russian historical Trains and Locomotives. Its wonderful for Enthusiasts and nice to look for everybody else.
MoreThe biggest railway rolling stocks museum in russia. Good place to increase your knowledge, another plus is this museum really close from subway
MoreThe best railway museum i have ever seen. I love the presentations with short movies. I love also the cafe concept.
MoreAmazing museum about the history of the railway in Russia and USSR. The place is really big with a lot of things to see.Almost everything is translated in English so dont hesitate to go.Price is 300 rub for an adult
MoreMore than WOW! My son 5 years was very excited to visit this museum! Very interesting! Trains, interactive installations, details. I would say - it is great museum!! One of the best in the world.
MoreGreat place for big and small ones, who love trains! Had amazing time here. The museum is huge, so reserve some time. For small additional fee you can try train driver simulation ;)
MoreDo you like trains? If yes then you HAVE TO GO THERE! Its a great museum with so many unique trains!
MoreEverything you want to know about Russian Railways . Well curated and great collection. The guides are amazing
MoreA must visit. Very interactive. Great place for kids..
Wow! Level of museum is amazing. You can see trains from first trains in the world till the morn high speed trains. Outside of the building small exhibition of war trains, including train with nuclear weapons launching platform. Museum contains lot of media information, modern technologies to present information, several interactive stands. There is even coal train where you can experience work of the Machinist;)
MoreVery beautiful russian railway museum. All new, clean and very more interactive and big. I love this place!
MoreIts a good museum with interesting exhibitions and even games for children (for adults may be interesting, too)
MoreVisited from England. Im a real train lover, and this place is the Russian version of the York Railway Museum in the UK. Its not quite as big as York, but they have packed a lot in. Looks to be quite a new museum. You will see steam locos (one of the biggest Ive ever seen), and their equivalent to the Evening Star in the UK, early electric, and diesel locos. They even have a missile launcher! If you like trains, you will LOVE it. Each exhibit has an LCD screen, which is in Russian, but there is an Engkish button to display everything in English. You will need around 3 hours to see everything. It cost 300 Rubles to get in, and its behind the main Railway station, to the right. Worth every Ruble... gift shop isnt very good though... and no books to buy.
MoreRich museum speaking about history of transportation in Russia. The guide asks her visitors questions in order to expand ones imagination. The explanations were interesting and quite objective. Although an academic tour would include also worldwide history and comparison.
MoreAn outstanding museum and exhibition of railroad items. Take your friends and your kids there. Spent 3 hours there and could spend more.
MoreOne of the greatest & most interactive museums for the kids which we visited this year. My 6 years old son is very much impressed so do i
MoreThis is one of the best trains museum i ever visited. Lots of different engines and carriages, and you can also enter in one steam engine. There are many interactive points. Trains are kept in a very good status and its super cheap.
MoreAmazing! This is a good place for your family and your friends。
Great museum! Spend 2 hours. Do not miss simulator !
One of the best technical museums I have ever visited. Its focus is the display of the real railroad rolling stock - steam, electric and diesel locomotives, as well as passenger and cargo cars. All of them are in a very good state, fully restored and collected in a specially outfitted historic building, which belonged to the railorad for many decades.Several very unique artefacts are also on the display - such as 12" heavy railway gun (barrel originates from the Black sea battleship "Emperor Alexander III"and RT-23 (NATO name SS-24 ScalpelICBM railroad rocket launcher.A dissected steam loc allows to get insight into its way of function in full details, from steam generation to valve gear.I would recommend to reserve at least four hours (and better the whole dayif you wish to examine all the exhibits in this museum.
MoreA lot of fascinating exhibits and great interactivity
Lots of great old locomotives. Museum guides are very interesting
Nice museum space. Highly recommended to visit if you like railway, trains and relevant stories. Museum space is very creative , exposition is interactive. It is impossible to catch everything at once but worth it.
MoreNice museum with a lot of interesting exhibits: a rich history of Russian railway industry include imperial and Soviet times. In the street exhibition you can find "BZHRK" – railway missle complex – is the train with big missle instead of passengers.
MoreThis is a largest museum of this type in Europe. Every train here has its own history which you can read on English or Russian. Must visit if you are visiting St. Pete
MoreReally enjoyed being there. Huge trains, their history is just amazing. Its a pity, though, that it was prohibited to climb on and inside the trains. It would have been much better with this option.
MoreNice new museum! But there are not enough trains to go and see inside the train. Its full covered almost! Its great because its possible to visit it during bad Saint Petersburg weather.
MoreVery nice collection of trains from different eras.
Excellent, simply amazing. Is one of the best technical Museums I have ever been.
MoreWell equipped new museum of trains. Interesting place to feel your size near locomotives. But only exterior is available.
MoreAmazing museum, so many trains. Definitely worth to visit
Great museum of Russian railways! Must see!
Great Museum, a lot to see, well organzied, explanations also in English, friendly stuff
Moreamazing museum !! next to the Baltiskaya metro station, with trains from 1890 till 1990, I enjoyed very much, one of the best places in Saint Petersburg
MoreGreat exhibition. Attached is pic of temp steampunk showcase. The only complaint- no a/c. :please fix
MoreLots of Russian Empire & Soviet steam engines & some newer locomotives. Disguised missile launch train. High speed trains from 1970s - 1990s. Recommend guided tour for only 100 RUB. All exposition items have description in English. Largest & newest rail museum in Russia.
MoreAwesome place to visit for any age. Great collection of old trains.
Wowzers! This place is huuuuge! Incredible museum stuffed with meticulously preserved mechanical wonders of age long passed. All those hulking steam beasts...its beautiful and daunting at the same time, huh. You just need to see it at least once! Also has a train simulator, for an extra fee though. All property is well peppered with attendants and direction signs, so youll never get lost. Also WCs are in abundance and thats nice. All in all an outstanding example of enlightening entertainment.
Moregood place a lot of exhibits
A really nice place. Well reconstructed. The access to inside of the trains is a real headache.. there are access options inside the trains but all are closed.
MoreReally nice experience to see trains from very first wagon! Good place to go with kids.
MoreGreat museum, definitely one of the best modern museums in Russia and one of the best technical museums of Europe!
MoreThis new exposition of the Russian Railroads Museum is bigger and better than a previous one. A new modern building with a lot of locomotives and carriages is nice and interesting. However, the information about these exhibits is presented only in Russian. Also it would be much better when visitors would be able to see the interiors. Right now it is is not possible.
MoreReal trip with time machine. From tank engine till late 90th of previous century. Of course the most interesting is a real "nuclear train" - the atomic sword of the USSR. Strange things like opened doors of locomotives prohibited to enter (try to stop your kids might be mentioned as something to be adjusted later... Better to see once, strictly recommended , but beware of crowd... everybody wanna see this.
