Description
Interesting place for visiting
The personnel is very polite and attentive
A very speacial place - a museum/gallery of humoristic art with a special touch! Must visit! :)
MoreI recommend it. Just pure fun and laugh.
Nice place for couple of hours
Great place, with lots of fun items on display. The staff were also very kind to explain the location of the halls and the best way to get around them.
MoreSerendipitous accident to find this museum....we were looking for a bakery on way south to Shipka Pass. Was greeted by English speaking guide (thank you😊whoo gave us an orientation tour which was helpful and interesting. We were then left to our own devices . They have various permanent (why does Grabovo have a humour museum? and temporary exhibits, all were well presented with English captions.Humour translates well, there were local and international exhibitors. Mix of slapstick, political, environmental etc. humour. Some quite thought provoking. As an Australian would say that Grabovians like to take the piss out of themselves. Would highly recommend. An hour would be enough time but could have spent more. Cute gift shop with some quirky stuff
MoreVery funny place. Everything has English translation.
Must see.
I really enjoyed the afternoon I spent here with my friend. The women at the front desk were helpful in checking us in and explaining the directions to us.There are four floors filled with historic and humorous arts that are well described in both English and Bulgarian.I went on an exhibition day, so there were many work of arts to see and laugh at. The labyrinth in the mirror room was my favorite, with children playing around and making it lively and colourful. The main Gabrovo bus station is just a few minutes away from the museum. So if you’ve arrived in Gabrovo by bus, you can make this your first stop before heading down to the city centre.I definitely recommend to visit once.
MoreThe best place and one of a kind!
Not very interesting and quite small.
Very few things to see here. I had a book with Habrovo jokes in my childhood so it was my place of interest. Two halls were closed for repairing. The cost is 6 lev. You shouldnt expect too much from this museum.
MoreA great museum and full of laughter! Worth the visit.
The museum has been evolving quite a lot in the past few years under the new management. Keep up the great work! Hopefully the project with the modern art museum will happen as well.
MoreInteresting and fun place for youngsters and adults. I was with my children and my parents everyone enjoyed it.
MoreReally nice place for the hole family or chill with friends.
Funny.
very nice place; fantastic personnel, kind and welcoming; there is a special childrens room with interesting things to do and a very nice gift shop
MoreGreat place for children. Can easily spend there a couple of hours. There isnt air con and its rather hot wearing face masks.
MoreGood place to visit ! Only in GABROVO!THE HOUSE OF HUMOR AND TIPICAL BULGARIAN CULTURE AND ART !
MoreNot what I expected - every floor had various exhibitions of current authors, and a lot less monuments of historical art. The most fun part was the room with the mirrors.
Morevery nice place with many interesting things, like picture, sculpture and many other.
MoreAmazing museum! It is full of funny and interesting exhibitions.Make sure to check the museum store. It’s one of the best I’ve seen in Bulgaria.
MorePretty artsy, as I determined from the Google Photos provided, I have not been here but I would highly recommend, unlike Mogadishu
MoreCute and funny museum. At least an hour of laughing and nostalgie. Huge rom for younger kuds, where you can spend at least an hour.Large exhibition of women caricaturists, some are very serious, and less suitable for very young children. We are not speaking Bulgarian, so got a full explanation first in English, then in Russian.Very positive experience.
MoreVery nice and funny place. One of the Gabrovos most popular places to visit. Very friendly attittude.
MoreA great day our with lots of fun. I think this is one of a kind museum in Bulgaria. The home of humor and the satire. A lot of different expositions stating with the famous Gabrovo humor and continuing on with weird and unexpected things. Gabrovo people are famous for their thrift and the way to economise from everything in their daily lives. The museum mocks that and takes it to another level .
MoreNice place to visit with kids. You need an hour for taking a tour around.
Great place to visit! Not only full of history but many modern day artist.
Unfriendly staff and you can’t pay with card after 16:00!!!!!! The museum is nice.
MoreLove this place ever since I was a kid! Great atmosphere and reminder of good old fun and jokes. Must visit spot for families.
MoreWe had a great time and a good laugh. Staff were wonderful
Great place for foreigners to have fun and learn something about the towns history and humour, definitely recommend it
MoreI am not a “museum guy”, but this one definitely worth a visit even if you have just a few hours in Gabrovo :)
MoreVery nice museum mixing humor, satire and art. For English speakers well arranged. Elavator, shop, coffee machine. Recommendable.
MoreInternarionally known museum and gallery with permanent and temporary exhibitions. Be sure to pick up a copy of Gabrovo jokes :)
MoreStaff there is very kind, but not allbdepend ot them. There is different exhibitions, but very eclectic. Not all of them is connected to humor and satire.
MoreThis is the place for my childhood I was going there with my school teacher and with my class and we was looking it up inside it was amazing experience and I will never forget that and also I want to notice that this is my city of my birth so I love the city but not the people thats why I move out to another city!
MoreI recommend visit this museum, youll understand why Bulgarians make jokes about Gabrovo people. One hour spend in museum is accurate.
MoreWe had a nice afternoon at this museum. The museum is divided in four different floors if i remember correctly. Each of them has a different theme, one of the floor is dedicated to the people in Gabrovo who, as far i could find (me not being Bulgarianthey hate spending money. It is quite diverse and it does not get boring. Also, for foreigners is pretty good as every single article is translated to English. However and this is why I only rate it three stars, the air-con was switched off, our visit has been in august and it is pretty warm. We got to the point where we had to quit seeing it as the heat got terrible. It was a nice visit and interesting place to see, the fact it was no aircon was a killer but this explains a lot how the people from Gabrovo are.
MoreThe greatest museum in Bulgaria! Different from all youve ever seen!Gabrovo folk are known as having a great sence of humour, especially toward themselves, and this is reflected it that amasing museum. The staff is very friendly and knowlegable too.Its also a great place to bring your children.
MoreOutside of the museum is interesting.
Great museum! You will have amazing funny time there! You dont want to miss it!
You happy
A large car park nearby, close to the city center. Expositions are interesting, not too interesting for children.
MoreSketches, caricatures and funny sculptures on four floors. Nice to see that the exposures change from time to time. We had a good laugh. An update would be English descriptions within the Bulgarian parts too. Not all of them had one.
MoreThere were some interesting caricatures although i dont understand why established bulgarian caricaturists werent included. There is a panel explaining that when the museum opened in the 70s it exhibited works by Beshkov, Zhendov, Angelushev, Donev. Yet, they were nowhere to be seen. Also some of the English translations are a little strange if not nonsensical. All that said i admire the efforts to selebrate Gabrovo as a humor and satira center and some of the caricatures are really good.
MoreSeems like there was a big effort to fill the entire building, the humor exhibitions are nice, the art galaries nothing special
MoreInteresting, amusing and must visit place, when in Gabrovo. It is contains the history of Gabrovian history and their typical sense of humour.
