Mussel's Restaurant - Restaurant in Warwick, Australia
By far one of the, if not THE worst “restaurant” I’ve ever eaten at!Took an hour to get my meal when the place was almost empty (the people that were there had already gotten their meals). Asked politely where my food was after 50 mins and got told “plating up, 3 minutes”, with no “sorry for the wait” or anything like that. After that, took another 10 mins (to compete the hourbefore food finally arrived, still with no “sorry for the wait” or anything other than “Chicken Parma”... Extremely rude and poor service! Not to mention staff take way too long to collect dirty plates. The person working took EVERY other plate on EVERY other table BUT ours, despite the fact that there was no one there and we were sitting with dirty plates (all the tables were dirty), forcing me to remove the previous person’s dirty plates myself to another table). Not clean, plenty of flies in the restaurant. Chicken was hot but ham dry and flavour-less “salsa” (more like just plain tomatoesfelt as if it was just slapped cold on top of the hot chicken. Below appalling.Customer service and quality at its absolute lowest. I’m from interstate and would NEVER return! It should NOT take an hour to get one meal out! (especially when the place is virtually empty).AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!
Went in for Breakfast New Years Day.. it was busy but the food tasted amazi g and the service was very friendly
Great relaxed cafe food never disappoints and friendly staff
Services is shocking, everyone waiting incredible times for food. Orders forgotten. Choux pastry dry and inedible. Wouldnt be fresh.
Disappointed. No more lunch buffet. We drove all the way from NSW just to have lunch here to be told they didnt do it anymore. Maybe a change to their fb page and Google would be in order. Another couple said the same thing while we were there.
Food wasnt the best and it took ages for staff to clear our empty plates
We went in there for dinner and it was 5pm and they close at 9 the man told us to leave becuase they were closed. Dissapoited guys.
Excellent place to have dinner or lunch they have a excellent all you can eat for a reasonable price
Best food in town, honestly the best feed I have ever had.
Very nice fish and chip Family Pack, good value.
A very pleasant breakfast or lunch we are regular customers. Meals are a good size and a very unhealthy selection of yummy cakes.
Very friendly staff but the food not to Italian standard and poorly presented prices good hope that they improve very soon
This is a really conflicted 2 star.We ordered hot chips burger and drink, coffee and 2 x cakes.I asked for some alterations to the burger and it took a bit of convincing, as she said that’s not the burger on offer, we wanted just a meat burger with bacon and cheese and she just really couldn’t comprehend it even as she read the order back to me she said just a “bacon and cheese burger no egg”, I had to repeat several times I wanted a meat patty. The chips were clearly cooked in old oil and were not very nice at all. I asked for chicken salt just as I was paying for the meal and the lady I presume who either ran the shop or owned it it, said , “too late to tell them you can put it on after yourself” (which I thought was a bit strange as the receipt hadn’t even printed out so the kitchen wouldn’t even know about the order yet).My coffee was like a warm milk, I had to ask for another shot of coffee and there was a young girl who was lovely about that.We waited particularly long. However the burger when it came was very nice. The marshmallow caramel cake was oddly different, but tasteful and the vanilla slice was enjoyable.
This cafe/restaurant was a great find, when I visited Warwick. Excellent service, bright and cheery staff, with an extensive menu and patisserie. The decor and combination of booths and tables, was complemented by the local artwork which adorned the walls. Food and coffee were excellent, next time I will try them for dinner, rather than afternoon tea.
Great value for money with friendly staff. Kids will love the dessert bar.
my partner and I dropped into the cafe after having a look at the sunflower fields, the cafe was just opening but we were happy to wait, upon approaching the cafe a woman was working, when we greated her, she clearly ignored us and proceeded to give us both filthy looks before walking away.we ended up at coffee club instead where we were treated kindly and with respect.
Love Mussels. Great food. Well done. Staff very pleasant.
3 for the customer serice great but the meat was off..and the pasta with off bacon...the steaks were definte something that happens from time to time. we wasnt cross. They gave us refund on the steaks not the pasta. but thats was ok.
Family friendly Restaurant. Good for large groups. Mainly Buffet style. Nice Coffee.
Lovely service. The waitress was really great up for a conversation. Lovely place to dine
Sadly was disappointed hot food was cold and no variety, only good part was the ice cream and the dessert.
Very good for all you can eat Pasta and seafood. Not expensive and a good atmosphere with good service.
Great food an service at a comfortable price! Service was quick staff friendly an polite. Will return again, this was my 5th visit to Mussels Restarunt!
I feel that the staff are no asset to this establishment. The quality of service is quiet poor. Staff yelling to one another across the restaurant whilst patrons are trying to eat does not create a nice ambience for people dining. Senior staff interrupting another staff member while they are serving a customer is rude. Especially to denegrade them in front of the customer......thats even worse! The manner in which the staff speak to customers can be blunt and rude. It appears to me like the staff are not properly trained as several have no idea how to answer simple questions and take no initiative to find out for you. Very disappointed in our dining experience.
Went to hsve lunch here today. We have been coming to the cafe for quite a few years but it has been a while since our last visit. Well we will not be coming back again for a while a VERY RUDE lady wasnt really that interested in serving us because we didnt want the buffet . We were shrugged off to take a seat and to come bsck WHEN ready to order. We got back up and walked across the road to the Crieton Hotel and had a meal for half the price and absolutely delicious and VERY obliging staff. We do t be back to Mussels anytime soon.
Had an exceptionally good coffee, can sit out front with your dog. Excellent array of pastries on display and the cooked food being served looked delicious and ample in size. Inside and footpath dining available.
This was the only thing other than Maccas open on Good Friday. They didnt charge surcharges. The food and service was great and not expensive. Great experience and highly recommend.
Breakfast buffet on Sunday is definitely recommended with in house baked pastries, eggs made three ways ,fresh hash browns are standouts from this full buffet breakfast with friendly service restaurant.
Havent been since November but never had a problem with the food or the staff,my advice is try it for yourself instead of listening to whinging reviews
The pastries are good. They have an all you can eat deal inside for lunch and dinner. The food is ok. Nothing to bring me back.
Food is ok (not great but ediblebut service is awful, some of the staff are incredibly rude!
Food great, large servings, very reasonably priced. Although service sometimes lacks.
Best sandwich Ive had in a long time! That bread was divine! Thank you!
Top food arrived quickly. Even when we had a small Chang to order. Staff grate and very helpful. Worth the drive from Brisbane.
A cozy buffet, patisserie and al la carte eatery all in one, Mussels is likely to have something to your liking whether youre there with the family for lunch, dinner with a friend, a quick, filling meal or a takeaway coffee and piece of cake. The prices are very reasonable and the decor and service make it a comforting place to sit and enjoy your meal. The buffet offers a good selection of dishes, covering everything from crispy, tender calamari (not a bad trick, getting them to stay crispy in the bain marie), to pasta and pizza, soup and vegetable bakes and a rather appealing salad bar, featuring a bit more than just garden and greek salads and a few pickles. Drinks and dessert are included, which is not too shabby for the $17.50 I paid at lunch time. Unfortunately I havent had the pleasure of stopping in for an a la carte meal yet (watch this spacebut at least my better half was able to assure me the selection in the pastry display at the front is definitely worthwhile, and hes quite discerning in that regard.Service seems to be friendly and efficient. Ive noticed quite a few bad reviews about the service in the past but either management have sat up and taken note or Ive been particularly lucky. Lots of smiles.Inside, Mussels is cozy, with large tables and several booths, soft lighting and some nice textures. It certainly wasnt slapped together from the McRestaurant catalogue, as so many places are. Its a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal in peace, or a chat or family gathering, as the tables are far enough apart to allow for some privacy. The buffet area is spacious enough that there is no scrum around the food and seems to be kept spotless, even mid-service-time.Mussels has been a lovely find and I look forward to coming here again. Its not haute cuisine, but its tasty, varied food at a reasonable price in a comforting atmosphere.
I had a pie and iced coffee - both were great. The meals are great vale for money and the buffet looked good too.Id recommend to anyone thats passing through Warwick and is looking for a nice lunch or dinner.
Always has great food, good service and is not expensive.
The buffet is great value for money, and includes desserts, soft drinks and hot beverages in the price.
Disappointing service from girl by the name of Manba or similar. No smile. Reminded me of Seinfeld Soup Nazi! No pleasantries and she just handed change and turned her back.Come on. This is a well established local. It deserves to have better and more friendly staff.Dont get complacent. Always be the best.Manager- Reply to reviews! Dont take them for granted. Ignoring reviews is a sure sign that you just dont care about your business. We have been to Warwick 3 times and have always come to this cafe. But now, we will find a new placeAveraging 3/5 stars is a major fail. Locals need to tell the owners. Clearly, they are not reading reviews. You have dropped the ball!
Always good food reasonable prices and great service. Best on Warwick.
Huge menu to pick from and nice coffee, also open on the Easter long weekend! Sure beats going to maccas 😋
Amazing all you can eat buffet. Will definitely be coming again for sure
You cant buy a meal after 3pm..so tell me,why are they open till 5pm?makes no sense to me,I will never go back again...rude people.makes me wonder how they are still open for business???
Absolutely disgusting food and poor service. Ordered eggs Benedict. For some reason the sauce was stringy and left me feeling very upset in the stomach. My daughter ordered eggs and sausages meal we had to ask where the toast was and meal was cold. Our tea was finally brought out after we finished our meals. Why did it take so long for 2 pots of hot water and a cup with a tea bag to come out. Staff are dressed in professional uniforms but are running around lost most of the time. Will not be going back next time i visit warwick.
We had a great time here. Wonderful food after a long journey to get here. Fantastic!
Just stopped by for a steak sandwich! Absolutely delicious. Fresh great value for money and fast friendly service. We will be recommending to all our friends.
Calamari is absolutely great! Beautiful pies, great pastry. My husband and I went to Mussells for our anniversary last year. Had a lovely steak although I asked for a med/rare steak but it was a bit overdone. I asked for no carrots but got them. Booth was a little uncomfortable. Would absolutely go there again though. Hopefully for our next anniversary. Prices are reasonable unlike other places around Warwick! Tonight I have now changed my mind. 15-1-15! What I am trying to eat right now is not proper calamari! All I can say is its disgusting and will be thrown in the bin!!! Step it up Mussells!!! You have just lost a customer!!!
Terrible. Ordered coffee to stay and waited and waited. finally asked where the coffee was and the response :"takeaway gets first priority"!! great business values.
I liked the all-you-can-eat buffet. Some variety and it was fresh. Also enjoyed the huge pizza! It seems they have some new staff and lost some. Unfortunately, the service was not as high as it used to be and we waited a long time to get served. Hopefully it will improve.
Food was very tasty and arrived in good time however the overall experience was let down by the table service. Overall a good experience though.
