Museum of World Religions - Museum in Taipei, Taiwan
rather than talk about religions, it’s more about life, showcasing how different religions’ view about human life
Very nice museum.I like the temporary exhibition about death. It is actually quite positive, reflecting and enriching experience. Thank you.
🏛️ It was my first experience visiting a museum of various religions around the world. They have some volunteers there, who are willing to guide us around the museum (most will use Chinese language). However, there are some descriptions in English as well. It takes around 1-2 hours to walk around the museum.💰 NT$300 (10% discount for student), with access of a special exhibition about life and death that was held now. The special exhibition was quite short though.🏃🏻 The museum building located next to Beyond Plaza entrance. It takes around 10-mins walking from MRT Dingxi station.
The museum’s staff is very helpful and friendly. There were no people during my visit. I truly enjoy the atmosphere and the exhibits captured all of my attention. I can’t even express my feelings. It’s like a had a trip into the ancient time through the history of the major religions. There was no guide, but most of expositions have a QR-code with English and few other languages and some flyers with descriptions.I was very amazed by this collection. It has really antic and probably unique stuff that you can’t see somewhere else. Also was interesting to see the exposition about Taiwanese believes. But I guess there are also many local aboriginal stuff that were not represented here.I assume that the museum expands it’s exhibits.I saw some pictures on Google with the costumes. It will be great to see it too.And I’d come here again.
A lot of special exbition.
Quite far if you take a walk from Ding Xi MRT station. The museum provide comprehensive information and the unique ornaments for every religion. The staffs are friendly and accommodated. I had a good time there. But you CAN NOT take video inside
Good vibes
Serene peaceful with a beautiful display of world religions
Super
Really nice experience
Right now the museum is closed till 15.04.
wow. woowowowowo. Spent 7 hours there and did not even realize it was 17 already when I left. Absolutely amazing and fascinating exhibition about the biggest religions, with a lot of details, despite a lot of the writing is in Chinese (but with Google translate, not really a problem). The only thing they should add are more benches hehe.
Exhibition is made mainly in Chinese, short descriptions in English are provided in sections regarding main religions.Exposition covers objects related to religions described although their stories and purposes are not told - one can say museum represents rather encyclopaedic approach. If you have just few days in Taipei, omit this point.
Celebrated 550th Birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji : The place is good and can accumulate more then 200 people at a time.
An unbiased and very beautifully laid out museum- linking all religious beliefs back to the source. It was worth using the English audio guide - but all the exhibits also had adequate English signage. Try and make sure you can be there for the 12 minute movie which shows the origins of the creation myths - 11.20 am, 13.20, 14.20, 15.20 and 16.20.Every piece in the museum has been carefully thought out - even the wood used to make the benches have meaning attached to them with a little plaque used for explanation. If you take the time in the awakenings section on the 6th floor there are some beautiful snippets from people like Jane Goodall and Sr Sri Ravishankar. Check the website for the shuttle bus times or take a stroll from the nearest station.
This place is underrated. It has so many amazing miniatures religion sites around the world with great workmanship.Even if you have no religion, its still worth paying a visit.
Inspiring museum, somehow crowded...
Pretty detailed albeit a bit small, with some nice large-scale models of religious buildings from around the world, and a good play area for kids.
I loved the museum. For the small space they were able to display many different religions. its a great way to learn about different religions in the world in like an hour. the staff is very nice and there are English titles and handout for every exhibition as well. I totally recommend it!
A nice way to spend an hour or two
Must visit!
One of the best religion museum! Very detailed introduction and beautiful amazing art.....highly recommended!
Detailed and enlightening.
Great place
Amazing place!
The only museum of its kind in the world as far as I know. To have created a museum to showcase other religions is a very generous contribution to world harmony. The perfection and creativity in each display is an act of love.
Great place amd worth to visit!
Interesting place to know more stories from different cultures and religion backgrounds.
A small but somewhat worth visiting museum hidden in the mall. 2 hours may be quite ample for one to visit all departments/sections within the 5th floor. Not crowed at all even during weekends. The volunteers and guides are nice and helping.
Plenty of religious documents and small model of sacred relics
What they have is laid out nicely, and the staff are very nice. However, if you are someone who is interested in religions, chances are, you will find that most of the information presented there is basic. There is no attempt to dwell into anything that is even remotely controversial.Religions covered: Christianity, Budhisam, Islam, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, and Shinto. Also covered are the ancient Egyptian religion and Mayan religion.Constructive criticism: It is hard to read some of the explanations because of the angle (some times you have to kneel on the floor to read), and the dim lighting doesnt help either.
Detailed and all around information and exhibitions for the major religious, a delightful surprise to visit. The interactions are good too.
Where else in the world do you find an organisation that tries to showcase the Religions of the World. Such a loving effort. Many groups of young students are also exposed to the varied varieties of religious beliefs.
Decent English signage and good coverage of major religions with no apparent bias, despite being run by a particular religious organisation. Worth the visit.
Very interesting museum where to gain more knowledge about world religions
Excellent vegetarian restaurant. Some of the minor exhibits do not have English translation. It has a section with models of major religious sites which was pretty good! Regular price is $150 NT which I think is pretty fair since its a pretty special museum to advocate religious diversity. There is a childrens section for $80 or $200 for both that I didnt check out. There is a video on creation myths. Pretty cool to learn about different religions!
㊣★☆A beautiful place.
