Museum of natural history, from minerals to dinosaurs & animal specimens, with hands-on exhibits.
The dinosaurs are impressive. If you love science, its a good place to visit.
The place is huge, definitely takes more than 3 hours to go around. We did 5 hours and still had to skip some things. Very nice experience though. Cool educational games and lots of interesting things to look at
We really enjoyed the Light experience which is an escape room where you need to Experiment and find words to get out! Fun concept!
Great place for whole day. There are three expozition. One is about animal today, one about people and evolution and one with dinosaurus. There are lots of games for children and interesting information for adults. Really recomend
Brilliant museum especially if you have kids. Bigger than expected so make sure you look at the map and go on all sections.Really nice experience and kids loved it!!
Such a beautiful museum, what a shame that we were told we cannot buy a ticket at 15:50 because tickets is only until 15:30.Even if you only came to see the dinosaurs, its still not possible to do so, the reason was is because the tour takes a long time.it’s also not stated properly on the website for the last ticket sale, it only shows once you try to buy a ticket. It should be on the first page of your website.Very disappointed.1 hour is more than enough for a 3 years old to see dinosaurs.
The museum is very nice, for adults or children, it is very interactive and you learn many new things!
Very nice and much bigger than I thought museum!I like the vibe it vibrates with the soft colors and interior - very modern. The amount of objects this museum has is crazy so make sure to clean at least 1-2 hours of your day for this visit !I stayed longer because I wanted visit the 3 departments of the museum 🤗
Really impressed with this. Lots of dinosaur skeletons and clever exhibits (one where a dinosaur reacted based on where you were standing). Great animal sections too. Quite a lot in English. My young daughter really enjoyed it and it was easy to navigate by pram.
Excellent museum, definitely worth a visit!
A must go for kids and dinosaurs lovers 🦖🦕. Basically a bunch of bones, fossils and stuffed animals but I love all of them 😎
Incredible museum. So much to do and see for people of all ages. Spent 3 hours in there and couldve spent far, far more if it wasnt closing.
Great place to bring kids when visiting Brussels. Parking inside the location. As it was a very hot day, some areas of the museum was very hot too (no aico).
Must visit. Especially if you have kids.Tip-Wear those shoes in which you can walk easily as you have to walk so much inside the museum.
Amazing spot to visit for all ages. The human evolution section is very interactive and engaging for young and old.The dinosaurs are fascinating too.
I have visited this museum 3 times up until now, it is just amazing
Great museum. Some parts look quite old but most parts are renewed and look very nice!Great collection of dinos.Must-do when visiting Brusselse with kids!
Had such a great time here! It was so cheap for student entry (€5and we spent ages in the museum - probably around 2 hours, and we even skipped a few bits and could’ve easily spent longer there. It was far bigger than we expected it to be, and there was loads of interactive stuff. There was a wide range of stuff to look at from the evolution of humans to taxidermy animals (creepy but cool). Would definitely recommend this to anyone of any age range!
We went to the museum without expectations and were amazed by the collection of dinosaur skeletons, the quality of the display and the information provided. The segment of living animals was very beautifully arranged and the history of natural science was very modern and interactive. Our 3-year old approved! The segment of human evolution was very up-to-date and educative. Even the quick lunches in the cafe were quite good. Overall an excellent experience.
Really fantastic exhibitions, although I wish there were more info in certain places. You need about 5 hours to see everything and explore properly. It was very hot inside... no aircon :(
This is a beautiful museum. I only made it enough about half with my 2yo. There was enough to keep both of us engaged. The displays are thoughtful. I will definitely go back.
Good to visit wiht kids, lots of usefull information, games, quests. To see all levels could take up to 3 hours. First Wednesday of the month is free entrance for everybody.
Very interesting and expansive collection, has something for both dinosaur enthousiasts and just animal lovers. I spent 3 hours in the museum and still didnt see everything.Map is poorly and illogically laid out though which gives a bit of a feeling that its a maze. Also would advise to go in spring, autumn or winter as there is no a/c which means it gets very warm inside. All in all though, definitely worth visiting.
Extraordinary museum! Large selection of dinosaurs 🦕! Including the 7 iguanodonts found in a coal mine in South Belgium 🇧🇪!A must-see place for dinos and animals’ lovers! Impressive T-rex in the underground floor!
Its actually 3 museums in 1 and you can choose which ones to visit depending on how much time you have available, it takes a while to go through everything though (up to 3 hours), so be prepared. Very interesting exhibits and nice gift shop. Great place for kids but definitely too big to do in just one visit with a small one. It gets crowded in the afternoon. Definitely a must visit while in Brussels.
Good place to visit with children, but adults have also fun
It was a very interesting museum. The dinosaur skeletons were especially amazing. The museum is huge, so it would take half a day to see it all.The cafe is small for the size of the museum, so it gets crowded.
This museum was amazing! Perfect for basically anyone and we ended up spending around six hours here. That was even with skipping through some areas. The museum is really well laid out with different routes depending on how long you would like your visit to be.All exhibits were super interesting and I loved how interactive everything was- perfect for kids!
AMAZING museum! A lot of hands on activities for kids to learn about dinosaurs and other animals, but also very entertaining for adults. We could have spent hours there just reading about the T-Rex. We did not have time for the human section, but it looked very informative.
Amazing place, with lots of scientific discoveries about human and dinosaurs and many other animals
Love the exhibition of trixi, is more aimed to kids but as an adult you would enjoy it
This museum provides a variety of animals and human exhibition. It takes about 2-3 hours to go through all exhibitions. Good for families and kids.
100% must go if you are in Brussels!!! Our three kids were especially blown away by the dinosaur exhibits! For planning purposes, give yourself no less than 2 hours in this amazing museum...any less time you are doing yourself a disservice. Lockers are available onsite for free to store bags, coats, etc. so do worry about what do do with your things if weather is in play or you have follow-on plans. Staff is over the top amazing!
Plan lots of time if you want to see everything. There are many things from all different topics to see. Very interesting and good student prices.
amazing interactive museum, huge spaces, small entrance fee, with children it took us about 3 hours to see or better to say to walk everything, many many exhibits, I did not take so many pictures because I was amazed by exhibitions, very interesting part about human history and about human body, not so many people inside, many toilets available, restaurant inside, free parking in front of the entrance, cons: a little dirty and stinky toilets, small parking lot but we found the place
Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved this museum. Would recommend to everyone, young and old. The t-rex Trix exhibition is fantasticccc, what a beautifull girl that is...
Great exhibits, many interactive portals and games make it really fun for children and adults alike. Toilets seem to be from last century though. Apart from that, highly recommended.
This is a lovely place with lots of history. Kids will love the dinosaurs. We spent around 3 hours and we still didnt see everything. It could be done quicker but I suggest to allow enough time to sock in the history as there are a lots to see and learn. Easly accessible with public transport.
very good museum very interesting to visit ... this museum tells a lot about animals and humans in ancient times..
I liked the visit at the Natural sciences museum. The museum has three main exhibitions (for the momentand unfortunately I could not manage to see everything. I spent 2 hours there and got to see the first one, and dashed through the second to see it until the end. I would think that people should spend around 3hours there to get to see the whole thing.
What a fun & interesting museum!! The organization is wonderful. They have lots of information for adults as well as interactive areas for children. Went with fellow adults and we enjoyed it. I also love that they have 3 paths to follow for 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours depending on how much time you have. I wish all museums did this!
One of our favorite expos with our small kids (4-3-1yo). We love it even more when the expos are adapted to the kids, the kids adored the Teddy and 🐻 expo, and the expo about the Tirex now is totally worth a visite. In non cocid time we can go to the explorer part and play with sand. Normally there are also Wednesday afternoon activities, but you have to be on time for the subscription of your Lil ones.If you plan to go more than once in a month it is more intresting to buy a year card. You can also have a foodbfeak in the restaurant !
Overall a good museum for it es and adults. 3-4hrs to visit the whole thing with toddlers./! Dont bring your food as you will be asked to eat outside (yes even in below zero temperatures, with toddlers..)The room where people could enjoy their own food is closed because of corona but the restaurant is open (their food is Corona free apparently..)Prices are just ridiculous though; About 7€ for a mini quiche, a nearly filled panini or (verysmall cup of pasta (see below)
So...this was one of the best experiences in Bruxelles for children! My little one had so much fun - and you can spend hours and hours here.True, it is a little bit difficult for the parents with the mask - we went there in July 2021 but for the children it is an immersive and beautiful experience that they will remember forever definitely. All the exhibits are wonderful, you can get close to them and everything is very nicely visible.Paleo lab - which you have to pay 3 euros more gives your child a gift of being an paleontologist for an hour. Quite recommended!
Fun to pass the time with children. Very big museum. Most of the things are educational for children.+ Very accesible, train station Brussels-Luxemburg is only 5min walk away.+ Very Fun, especially with children.+ only acces when you have corona certification- can be boring if you come alone- come with public transport, finding a car park is not easyExtra tip: take a look at the dino exposition, i was amazed
I will summarize my experience as Okay. Some things are nice, others not so much. What I liked: the dinosaurs exhibition, in particular Trix(a very well preserved female T-Rex, specimen, in display until 07.08.22); the interactive features throughout the museums, although they are focused more towards children. What I didnt: the way they present the information about their specimens(it was confusing at first how to access it, but you do it by using the touch displays); the quality(or lack of... of some of the stuffed animals they display - you just cant have animals not looking like the real ones in a museum like this one; the fact that they have mixed in groups animals from completely different climate zones (something that night be ok for kids, but it was off for me); the general feel that this is more of a museum for people with kids rather than curious adults. If you have the chance visit the ones in Berlin(great for dinosaur lovers, good stuffed animals collectionand Vienna(amazing experience all round), they are classes above 🙃.
An amazing museum for all ages. You could easily spend 3 hours here if you viewed all the exhibits. More if you can read everything. The museum has a lot of interactive exhibits too, which makes it even more fun. If you only go to one museum while in Brussels, I highly recommend the natural sciences museum.
Amazing. Its must visit place. Interesting for all ages, perfect for families. Species from all world and of course dinosaurs. Interesting, educational etc. Its a place where you can return again. Tickets are not expensive (surprisingly).
Wonderful museum with 3 different permanent exhibitions: animals, dinosaurs, and humans. Depending on how much time you have you can decide which route to take (there are some easy-to-follow signs on the ground). Overall, the museum is a fun activity for couples or families, especially due to the interactive games (real EduTainment).
Come here specially for the 🦕.Its very spectacular and popular!A very good place for everyone .At least two hours is recommended. Museum A is very informative, and most dinosaurs are distributed in Museum C .Personally, museum B is a bit boring.
