I have been to many museums around Africa and other continents. I understand that there is not much monies going around when it comes to spending on heritage and history, but since the doors opened up in 1966 up to now, nothing more was added nor kept in pristine condition. Rubbish is laying all over the grounds and one gets the idea that no one cares to really polish any windows or dust off the show pieces. The big trucks outside could have been kept in their original state, but its in a poor condition. School trips look like it is used for teachers to take a break while kids play around. Its sad that such history is not in a better condition.

Great place for locals to learn there history but it isnt somwhere that people from outside can easily understand alot of the exhibits are missing or left to be rundown and it is not very well funded, I realy hope they get more funding and can make it a truly fantastic place.

Absolutely loved the place. A great place to learn about the culture and history of Malawi, located near Chichiri shopping mall its real easy to get there. So much knowledge and history in one place, its a great place to visit. Though its not that big of a place it will not take you too long to go through everything. Definitely a place to visit if you want to learn more about Malawis history

If you want to learn more about Malawi and you are in Blantyre, then this is the place to visit. It got almost all the information about Malawis History.Even if you are a couple and you just want to take your lover out for some history this is the place to visit. Oh by the way they also have refreshments. :-)
