Description
Privilege
An amazing place. To visit absolutely if you are in Doha
A breathtaking view specially at night ,the architecture is fabulous
Most beautiful and favorite museum in Qatar. Every part of the museum is spectacular. The collection is so wide and captivating. Reopened in October 2022 and now it has a better experience especially for families. Interactive screens help us discover more about the background of objects. One place to keep visiting even for the view, the cafe and the huge gift shop!
MoreVery beautiful and calm area, MIA park so green and fresh, sunset was so amazingly bright. Must visit place in Doha!
MoreOne of the best museum in the world 👌👌
Art museum that introducing Islamic art and culture. Architecture of this building in corniche promenade is fantastic. Lake and footpath all are designed in an attractive way. Collection of modern and classic art works on plates, horn and other things are marvelous and marking Islamic history.
MoreThe museum is influenced by ancient Islamic architecture yet has a uniquely modern design involving geometric patterns. It is the first of its kind to feature over 14 centuries of Islamic art in the Arab States of the Persian Gulf.Occupying an area of 45,000 m2 (480,000 sq ft), the museum is on an artificial peninsula overlooking the south end of Doha Bay.
MoreWe dropped by here a long time agoAnd all I can say is that this place is so, Phenomenal and absolutely stunning,Qatar keeps arts and sports running. The light that cast those shadows,Never been so amazed and it breaks your sorrow.Life has been so blessed,In this beautiful country Im obsessed.I will take you here in my arm,And protect you away from harm.I promise you that I will be there,No matter if this road leads us to nowhere. Will you accept this world I can offer,It might not be the world thats super. But let me share this life with you,Until forever we will say "I love you".Broken piece of that Piano,I cant fall in love again, oh no,I will wait for you until the end,I will see to it that we can blend.Words by Eleazar F. Corbe15th of August year 2022.
MoreOne of the best museums in the region. The best sport for art and architecture lovers. The architecture of the building itself is amazing. The park around is So cool.Great historic collections.Spent at least 4 to 5 hours.
MoreIt’s a free entry for the museumView from the museum is awesomeVariety of old items are kept for viewing which is very good and it’s a worth visit
MoreTemporary closed for 5/6 months. I visited on 23.07.2022. But the out side place of this museum was awesome. Now waiting for opening.
MoreI visited this museum a couple of years ago. Such a beautiful collection of ancient artifacts. Every item on display had info about it. Well maintained. I had a lovely time here! If you love history, youll absolutely love this place.
MoreThe museum is unique in terms of the simple design from the outside and the diversity of items on the inside. It needs 3 hours to visit and you can have a very nice coffee watching the sunset fom there.
MoreBeautifully designed museum by renowned architect I.M.Pei, definitely worth a visit, the interior is impressive as well as the park & sea views.
MoreMIA park or Museum of Islamic Art is very 1st place to go if you will visit Qatar , or come for work or if you have at least 2 days transit time in doha. Starting point to end point it’s a 27 min max walking distance and coming back also same. One side bay of Arab sea on the other side doha city itself. This place has a museum of Islamic arts and records, good number of cafeteria, green field, sea shores and most importantly few antic boats of Qatar. Best place for Jogging and hangout if you love to be in the fresh air. 24/7 it’s open , safe in the night also.
MoreDecent Museum, you will find good collections. Good for one time visit if you are in Doha.
MoreI went to the Islamic Museum when I was visiting Doha for a couple of days. It was definitely one of highlights of the trip. Tons of beautiful Islamic art spanning centuries. The building itself is a wonderful piece of architecture. The tea service was nice as well.
MoreIt’s better than The new oneSpecially inside of the building with gorgeous location
MoreI was amazed to see the ancient history of Islamic culture and the Museum of Islamic Art presents the overall history at one place and in the most organized way. The place was so quite where a person could enjoy visiting freely and in details. The staff there is very kind and helpful. A must visit if you are in Qatar and there is no fee entering the museum. It is totally free
MoreAwesome places.. All facilities available.. Toilets, food counters, vehicles, Masjid, play yards, super green hills etc.
MoreOne of the best places to visit in Qatar.Good place for family picnic. Its a place were you can relax, sit silent and enjoy the antiqueness. Definitely you will enjoy your time there.
MoreWonderful collection to discover at Museum of Islamic Art in Doha Qatar, iconic building and very nice atmosphere. Definitely you will enjoy your time there.
MoreVery interesting exposition, modern museum! I especially liked edged weapon collection- swords, daggers, knives. 5 🌟
MoreSuch a massive and impressive structure. There are so many grandiose places to see in Doha.As it is right along the water, there is also a lovely pathway on both sides that you could easily spend a few hours walking along. Within, the museum is spotless and regal. A spot not to be missed in the city as it gives you nice insight into Islamic history/art/culture.
MoreVisiting around night time will give you ample time to gaze at Doha’s skyline from MIA park and enjoy the nightlife their.
MoreBeautiful building, lovely atmosphere, quiet and tranquil. The negatives are there were no staff in the exhibit halls only security. Also the artifacts did not have much explanation, sometimes it would be a simple as coin from Iran. The view was beautiful. I would not suggest for children or young adults as it is not emersive and interactive and just has artifacts.
MoreThe Museum of Islamic Art (MIAhouses one of the most comprehensive collections of Islamic Art in the world. MIA building has become an icon spotlighting the cultural vision of the State of Qatar. Standing apart on the waters of the Corniche, it draws influence from traditional Islamic architecture. A must see✨
MoreBest place in Qatar to hangout. Great architecture inside .Nice place for families to celebrate. Rich and Unique collection of Masterpieces from various parts of World are extra ordinary. MIA park is outstanding place for celebrating your days. Parking will be a difficulty on weekends . Will get the extended view of west bay of Qatar from there. A must visit place in Qatar. Can be easily accessed by metro and bus 😊😊😊😊
MoreA fairly young museum in Doha, but has already gained popularity among visitors and residents. Everything here amazes: the architectural solution of the building, the adjacent park with the best panoramic view of the modern part of the city, the interior decor of the exhibition halls and, accordingly, the exhibition itself. Islamic art is presented in all aspects - writing and calligraphy, architecture, sculpture, science, jewelry, military armor and in the everyday life of people who have progressed to Islam.Tickets can only be purchased via the mobile app, subject to credit card payment. This application has an audio guide option, which allows you to find out information about a particular exhibit in an accessible form, as well as about the museum as a whole. The museum has a coffee shop with panoramic windows overlooking Doha and comfortable wrought-iron sofas where you can enjoy a cup of coffee after the tour.On the ground floor there is a shop with a large selection of souvenirs and gifts. If you have never been to this museum, I highly recommend visiting

MoreIn this time of the pandemic, I believed that social distancing is important, but unfortunately it is not maintained in the area. A lot of people visiting the area. Some not properly wearing mask, and some were disregarding social distancing.
MoreA very beautiful collection of artifacts from ancient civilizations from our rich history. Mostly focusing the Indian subcontinent, North Africa and and Middle East regions. The exhibition on the ground floor is often interesting and a must visit although at a small price. Otherwise the entry for nationals and residents is free.
MoreI really enjoy the this Museum, we actually work from Souq Waqif to reach this place. We are passing the beautiful dhows or boat on the way to MIA. The entrance really wonderful with some palm trees and we enter you can have prayer rooms in the right side. Remember to book your ticket via the website or on the spot. Many collection that we can enjoy from century to century. We can enjoy the history of Islamic Civilization to enhance our knowledge and enrich our mind. In the balcony is one of great place to take a photo that some beautiful scenery as background. Come and explore it.
MoreGreat location for spending a day out , a luxury building contains many islamic and traditional treasures from different places , an open area with a magnificent views on west Bay, towers , souq waqif and an amazing greeny garden surrended the building , there is a cafe shop inside , Entrance is free for residents and 50qr for tourists . Many thanks to the government of Qatar for such thier interest and care of islamic Arts and Treasures .
MoreOne of the most impressive art galleries I have ever visited.Designed by the famous award-winning architect I.M. Pei, Dohas Museum of Islamic Art is simply a modern wonder. It is located on the south side of Dohas Corniche on a man-made island sixty metres from the shore, though reached by a land road. Set in the MIA Park on the Doha waterfront, the museum building stands out as an architectural gem. Entry to the museum is free. The minimalist cubic exterior offers you no idea of how beautiful it is inside, though the look of it outside is just fine in its minimalist way. Right in line with Peis other great works. The interior was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and has to be seen to be believed. I will not describe it in detail here but just say you MUST see it if in Doha. The vast interior space occupies about 5 or 6 floor levels, and all the viewing rooms are on the outer extremities of this space. There are numerous rooms, very cleverly designed to show the many exhibits in the best possible way. You will see masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century.Certainly one of the very best museums I have ever visited, anywhere.Simply unmissable. I spent a long half-day there. There are many breathtaking views from the museum itself.
MoreOne of the landmarks of Qatar, its amazing architecture and rich exhibitions are not to be missed, but it also has a very nice viewing points over the dafna high buildings, two points are form the inside the museum (the cafeteria and there is a balcony with some fountains and view point. But if instead of entering the museum went arround it there is a beautiful green park, and if you followed the path it will lead you to a viewing point where land skaped grass is facing he sea and the dafna high towers behind it with thier colorful lighting reflecting on the water. You will also find there some nice cafes and a public restroom. I really recomend an evening there it is amazing and romantic
MoreThe architecture alone is already a reason to visit this place. The museum, designed by renowned architect I.M Pei, is so beautiful and modern, it was amazing the way the museum appears to be sitting on still water. The galleries had a nice flow, making it easy to see all the art collections on every floor. It also has a great view of the Doha skyline. Do check out the park next to the museum for more amazing skyline views. Definitely a place to visit in Doha!
MoreCool museum with lots of historical artifacts. The building itself is a pretty cool design and in a prime location looking over downtown and the finance district. You can get good pictures of the skyline here.
MoreCool place. Specially the MIA park is big and good. West bay view is great from inside the museum. There are displays of historical importance, placed and positioned in fine glass protected partitions and sections. I observed that the exterior including park is more relaxing and worth visiting than interior.
MoreIts wonderful, have visited there more than 10 times, but never get bored. Its a place were you can relax, sit silent and enjoy the antiqueness. The most amazing creature is the soldier on the third floor. Standing in front of the soldier is a different feel. Really amazing.
MoreSerene and beautiful. Thats what came to my mind when I visited this place. It is a meticulously crafted building, with handpicked items for the exhibits. There are permanent exhibits that are open all the time, along with temporary exhibits that often changes according to time. If you love architecture and also the art and culture of Arab countries and the Islamic design philosophy in general, then this is a must-go place. There is no entry fees for residents of the country (provided with a valid Qatar ID); for others, it is QR50 (~14 USDand also has concession for University students with a valid student ID.
MoreGreat place to visit in Doha. Very interesting to know the history about Islamic art which is actually the purpose of the museum. Many things were new for me. The museum is not very big, however, there are a lot of artefacts from different periods and if you would like to know more you can extend your visit to three days because the ticket is three days valid. You are allowed to take pictures inside. There is a wonderful view from museums balconies to the Doha harbour and Doha city center. Thus you can also come there to enjoy this wonderful view, especially on the sunset. The parking for museums visitors is free. There is also a very nice and beautiful part on the the right side.
MoreJust amazing as a collection. You will have a good time and nostalgic feelings if you roam around the museum. The Museum covers range of Islamic historic items. Indians, Turkish, Persian everything related to Oslamic history is here. The Arab sea in from the entrance of the Museum is just heavenly. The bliss is amazing.
MoreThe collection is very interesting and there is a wide range of calligraphy and historical art to see.Everything is labelled in detail. Nicely laid out with very nice exhibits. The architectural design is magnificent Really interesting place to visit. Its a must visit for tourists to get to know more about the art of Qatar
MoreBeautiful museum with amazing architecture on the inside and also on the outside. It is well located at Doha city Center facing the beautiful modern city of Doha. There is beautiful artifacts exposed in different levels inside museum. There also a Cafe restaurant on first floor. A must do in Doha of you like museums.
MoreGreat looking museum but not impressed with the exhibits. Most of them are of modern Era dating back a couple or 300 years. Museums in Istanbul Turkey are more historic and a lot more significant. The building in Doha is very modern and has a feel good atmosphere. Totally air conditioned. They do charge for tickets to non residents. Regular is 50QR. Student 25.under 13 free. It does give a great view of the skyscrapers skyline from outside the main exhibit area. There is a snack shop and you can eat by a great view of the skyline. If time is limited I recommend visiting other places
MoreOne word - amazing - from the gorgeous architecture and design of the museum to its massive collection. Pictures (without flashare allowed. There are impressive artifacts from all major periods of Islamic history. There is also a large gift shop with unique and original pieces, as well as a sizeable cafe with a variety of food and drink. Great place to bring the family. Expect to spend around 4 hours to see and read all about the exhibits.
MoreWhat a place to visit, the whole package includes education, a fantastic variety of different cultures art, relaxing environment. Every corner you see is perfectly designed to enjoy outdoors and indoors . The spaces are wide so you can overwhelm your sight! No crowded in the morning
MoreOne of the most beautiful museum. Very well maintained. So clean. So silent and calm. The architecture of the building is just wow. The lights on the artifacts are so well thought and placed which enhances the beauty of the Artifacts. They have huge frames to hold big carpets and portraits. Pictures do any justice to the charm of the museum. One should personally go and visit. They have artifacts from all over the world. Rooms are aggregated into different regions of world. Detailed descriptions like where it was found, who did it belong to, what era, what is the material used to make the artifacts etc are given. there are sofas for people who get tired. There is a shop who sells items similar in museum and few amazing souvenirs of Qatar. Theres also a restaurant over looking the back water in ground floor.once we go out, we can see the skyline of Qatar on one side and the iron pillar on right side. There are some stone seaters. And little fountains adding to the beauty.
MoreFree entrance yay!!! Beautiful collections. Good size so I was able to finish the museum in a couple of hours which is good for a tourist who wants to do a lot in one day. Its "balconies" have good view of the city as backdrop. Very nice.
