Museum of Folk Architecture and Lebensunterhalt in L'viv
Description
Privilege
Museum park shows the life in traditional Ukraine.
I love this partially wild park. Whenever I go off the main road, I always end up somewhere I wasnt before last time. Recommend for picnics, hiking or just going for a walk for cute pictures. Somewhere in the middle of the park there is an installation of an old Ukrainian village, also worthy to check (the entry is not free though)
MoreIncredible place... When I come to Lviv I always visit this place. İts the first place to see in Lviv.
MoreBeautiful park with huts that inform you of Ukrainian heritage and art. There is a pond with swans in addition to some animals. At the other end there is a small cafe and some traditional games.Loved it and took many photos.
MoreA very cool place to learn about the culture of Ukrainian nation, how they were living, how they were building the houses and how they chapels looked like back then. The place is definitely atmospheric and even not so enthusiastic people will find it beautiful. Unfortunately the houses were closed and you couldnt be part of experiences, but even that way the walk was amazing.
MoreA park-museum dedicated to the culture and life of the territories of western Ukraine. The park is very beautiful, the exhibits are in excellent condition.
MoreA park containing the specimens of authentic Ukrainian cottage houses. There are a lot of mosquitoes in summer, so take a repellent with you. Some parts require reconstruction.
MoreBeautiful open air museum, they have dozens of old buildings that are hundreds of years old that was shipped over from all over Ukraine. I only expected to spend a hour there however I ended up spending the whole day.Walking around is like Im in a video game/fairy tail land, discovering beautiful houses location in the middle of the woods. Each of the buildings are different with dates and original location location in Ukrainian and English, and each building has someone inside that can explain the history and function of the houses, however most dont speak English. They also have some indoor exhibition, a small lake with ducks and 2 very friendly swan. The whole museum is more like a park with some sloops that you can climb, it can be a very nice hiking and park experience.I highly recommend it.
Moreİts really pretty, in the woods, lots of shade. Be ready to walk alot. Ethnic views and houses. Real ones! Things inside are also real, not fake - so you are not allowed to touch. There are few places that suggest some ethic food and some icecream trolley and a few water trucks... But we took a blanket and sandviches/fruits/smth to drink and we hav had a blast! Picnic in a place like this...wow! And it was not at all crowded, as wed expected! Totally recommend! Price is ok - 70 uah adults, 50 for students and pupils. Under school age we didbt pay.
MoreThis museum are a place you have to visit, when you are in Lviv, very big and beautiful, you need between 2-3 hours when you will walk and look everything, some days, you can see how people have work and what they do in house and outside,, there are many busses and trolley from centrum to this museum, you only need to walk 5-10 minutes from bus stop to the museum, there are also a little animals, but a very good place for all the family
MoreOpen air park with authentic Ukrainian architecture
Historic place to be around, lots of small ancient houses with ancient things, also officials are present there to tell about each n every thing present there, it a quite big placeIf u r going in winters go early and price very affordable 50 uah for normals and 30 for students.
MoreVery well kept. Theres a qr code for an audioguide at the entrance that has good explanations of the buildings. All signs are bilingual. The park is pretty, too. Highly recommended!
MoreBeautiful space full of greenery and animals captive including_ horses, sheeps, goats, eagle, turkey, swan, etcIts a huge green area with many ancient houses kept for observationThe ticket costs 50hrvYou need atleast 2 hours to see through it completelyBut be aware it closes at 6 PMBesides its a good place for one time visit only and with a group otherwise you may get bored😅
MoreThis is my favorite place, its so peaceful and beautiful.
Shevchenkivskyi park is a beautiful park. It consists of old village lifestyle house and church. Peaceful and beautiful. You will see old architecture and wooden houses.
MoreI suppose in summer is really amazing. In winter the park is open but the houses are all closed, so you walk alongside (in the mudbut cant go inside which pretty sucks.
MoreMuseum of ethnography and ukrainian culture with wooden houses had been built many centuries ago
MoreA green wild place to breathe and run. Some trashes of course but people who behave so are not really human.
MoreIve seen a wedding and played some instruments with other people and it was really fun
MoreLovely museum with a nice sightseeing. A lot of interesting and aged houses, each with its history and are good preserved at the same time. For kids its also good as there are a lot of free space to run and animal corner with horses and homeyard animals.
MoreIts a good place for walking. If youre interested in folklore, youll have even more fun.
MoreGreat place to go to see the way things used to be! The whole family will have fun here and you could easily spend several hours. Be sure to wear good shoes because some of the paths can be muddy if it has rained. Some paths go into the woods and can get pretty steep.
MoreOutstanding ethnopark with lots of activities: baking authentic bread, playing musical instruments, shooting arrows with Cossack now. Quite liked spending time there
MoreNice place for a walk with your children. Lots of ancient Ukrainian houses and churches. Almost every weekend there is some festivals or public activities. Also there is a "mini zoo" with few animals and birds. You can find here a small pond, a water mill and many other things.Ticket is not expensive.
MoreNice place! We enjoyed especially thanks to our guide who explained us a lot.
We were not able to look inside of the buildings due to a reconstruction but overall the experience was just okay. The entrance fee is cheap. It just felt like more like a place to visit with kids to show them Ukrainian history than like a place for tourists
MoreThis is a fairly large park not far from Ukraines largest cemetery. It is filled with old homes and churches from prior generations. On Monday and Tuesday these homes arent open but otherwise you can visit and see how people in the region used to live. There is a rope course and childrens playground nearby and a little petting zoo with ponies inside of the area.
MorePark is relatively small - for example, Pirogovo is way bigger. In 2 hours we did the whole route twice. There is nothing to do except of visiting old houses, not enough places to have a rest or at least benches. We didnt risk to try the food there - the food was cooked by teenagers in a place that was looking as even not having water to keep it clean. Anyway, we peeked in the sausepans and saw fat swimming in liquid fat, brrrrrr.
MoreI recommend visiting this park if you are interested in culture and history. Traditional centuries-old houses made of wood have been collected from different regions of Ukraine and preserved here. Theres also a working Orthodox Church made of wood, a childrens playground, and several cages of beautiful birds. Celebrations and traditional folk games are held every Easter Monday if the weather is nice. Downsides: catering and souvenir sellers dont accept credit cards, so bring cash. I also dont recommend coming in bad weather. May be boring for young children. But in general - a great park with authentic historic Ukrainian wooden houses.
MoreIt a traditional place of Ukrainian old country homes. I recommend you visit to music instruments home. There is man very cool who made us have fun with music.
MoreGreat open air museum of wooden architecture of western Ukraine (16-18th century Rus region of Polish-Lithuania commonwealth)
MoreVery quiet and Amazing place..with beautiful scenery..
I love those open air museums and this one respected the rule, it was amazing ! Very friendly people showing the houses, you could feel their passion. Very beautiful houses, rebuilt like back in the days. I would come back if i ever go back to Lviv !
MoreThe place offers possibility to see the old houses of people living in different regions of Ukraine. The area is huge and it recquires a lot of time to see all of it. But it is worth it!
MoreWonderful place. I advice to visit it. Dont forget to take some food and water
Huge area in the woods on the hill in eastern part of Lviv. Great place to get know better west Ukraines ethnography and spend time feeling like in ukrainian village before Second World War. Lot of green and animals. You will be surprised how interesting this place is.
MoreVery nice park. Very interesting authentic displays.
An interesting place to visit. A collection of carefully maintained historic peasant houses and churches from different parts of Ukraine. And all this is in a beautiful landscape which itself makes a pleasant stroll.
MoreOne of my favorite places in Lviv. It is a museum of Ukrainian traditional architecture under the open sky - all the buildins are literally located in a huge park. The houses were transported from their original location straight to this place to make a representation of almost all regions type of national architecture. There you can see not only the houses, but also the guide will tell you, how Ukrainians used to live, what were their habits and social life circle. Also there are a lot of festivals, entertaining events and workshops for children and adults together with a small zoo. So worth of going!
MoreInterestimg place to learn more about ukrainian culture and have nice time! Ethnic houses from different places of the country they brought here and it shows a lot about traditions and past life. If you are in Lviv, definitely should visit the place !
MoreThe park is a beautiful space, with a number of small buildings built in varying styles of Ukrainian folk architecture over the ages, and across various regions of the country. Unfortunately, on large holidays (especially Easter), the place gets packed with people, and it becomes hard to move around comfortably (not to speak of the long lines to get in).
MoreNice place for spending time with kids, walking and learning some from the past.
Great to spend time with family. Tiny wooden houses, wells and watermills making lovely atmosphere. Small zoo will make kids happy.
MoreVery cool place and way to see Ukrainian heritage. It has many houses and some hidden treasures along the paths. Definitely a must see for Ukrainian diaspora visiting lviv!
MoreBeautiful forest and historical village houses
Nice place to walk and learn something about Ukrainian culture, however we did not see any guide or much of a written information on what we were seing; they offer a few master classes for kids and adults; you can take food with you and have a picnic there
MoreAll my love for the great place, specially on the holiday visits like Christmas and Easter.
MoreFantastic, traditional wooden buildings. Amazing to sample the culture and history of Ukraine. Again a bit off the beaten track but well worth the find!)
MoreThis fun history park is great for exploring the local history in a beautiful natural environment. There were friendly hosts that were enthusiastic about their role play as villagers and farmers. And there was a food pavilion within the park with very simply presented but tasty local cuisine. I highly recommend for those interested in a relaxing day exploring history.
