No. 1, Siyuan St, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100, Taipei
Museum featuring exhibits on local tap-water history & conservation in a historic pumping station.
Beautiful colonial era building which some uses for wedding photoshoot. Can also see some interesting chalk drawing on the pavement. The place is very empty especially comparing to the water park that’s crowded with kids in summer. A decent place to have a short walk but doesn’t really have much to offer beyond that.
Not too crowded (I believe because its raining outside). The lady and man on ticket counter were really helpful, they can speak basic English and inform me about student discount. Track behind the museum also well maintained. All in all it is okay to visit this museum if you have more time in Taipei, but it’s not a kind of must visit museum.
Taiwan’s version of underground water Palace
Interesting place to see some history about Taipei’s fresh water system, a nice place to visit, not too crowd
Excellent
Good place to visit and for kids to play and learn.
If you like engineering or architecture, its worth to go! Its an old water processing site where you can see the old building and pipes by just a short 5 minutes walk up hill.Went during the raining day but still felt it was worth it. And some rain water actually leaked into the old building and you can see water marks and water flow!
If you ever wanted to know what its like to drink tap water, come here and buy a bottle from the vending machine.
So calming and so very refreshing place especially for those who wants to have a peaceful environment
There are 100 yrs old pumps too.
Nice place for taking pictures Specially wedding or just selfie
For $50 per person, you can make all the lewd jokes you can think of about being in a *pumping* station, springing a leak, and needing your pipe *fitted*... 😁Good times were had by all!!
A great place if you have a good sense of humour and sarcasm in abundance. Nice pipes everywhere. You wont see nicer pipes in all of Taiwan.
The low entry fee (NT$50reflects how little there is to see in this park. The main building is poorly restored and rough around the edges. However, I did enjoy the trails behind the park that goes up the mountain behind it.
Might need to reserve for a tour of the running plant. Went to see it on a Sunday. Park open only.
Though small, it is a beautiful building especially when during cherry blossoms in early spring. There is a short trial behind the museum which can take you to the treasure hill.
Thought it would be about the influence of water on human history but its actually about the old water pumps supplying Taipeis drinking water. There is a nice 20 minute nature walk out the back of the museum with English introductions to plant and tree species.
Nice park. Good for a 2nd or 3rd date.
Not much to see or do here. The water park nearby is nice but this is mostly used for wedding photos. Might be okay for a walk or something but I wouldnt make a trip for it.
Convenient location and a lot of fun with affordable price. Not to many rules like the other private places in Taipei.
Good facility and cheap Price. Great place to play water
Its pretty fun for children.
Interesting little museum with some information about the development of the water system. Some photos and documents, you cannot touch or look through many of these. Some of the old machinery is on display. There is a popular water park attached.
USB device is the one I can get back to do a lot for your kind of stuff and have a nice day I was wondering about the next few years ago to the same thing to do with the next few years old I was just thinking of getting a good weekend and have a lot to be able a great weekend to the time to get the time to meet with him to get a lot to learn from the best way of the next few years ago but if I dont think that is why you can do this and have
Its an old water place, it will be a good park rather than an museum since there are not much display with limited information.(with some printing mistakes as well)Its pity, lack of management. Water is extremely precious and essential resources to this island. It will be nice to see more educational function going on here, it can be a good day out for school trip.
Really not too much to see here. I think it is an ok place for locals to bring their kids since it has some shallow pools to play in and lots of open space. But probably not the most interesting place to visit if you are a tourist.
It used to be a main drinking water treatment campus for then Taipe city. Nowadays has been transferred to a cultural and leisurely park. The highlight spots is the baroque style building of the water treatment facilities museum which attracted a lot of wedding photographers. The other one is the well maintained hill trail, secluded, quite and easy access.
Quaint and historical museum of drinking water. Also have a hiking area called Kuanying Hill(小觀音山步道). Admission fee between TWD 50~80.
Apart from the drinking water heritage, theres a mini forest for hiking. The entry ticket costs TWD 50 (Adultduring the post summer period (Sep to June)
Interior is a curved hall showcasing the old water supply system, pretty interesting if you’re into industrial vibe. It’s not a big museum, I would say time spent is a maximum of 1 hour.
Traveler, please dont go. There are ntg, museum just one old building n without aircom. It more like kids water park then a museum. Dont waste ur money buy ticket, dont waste ur time too. BORING.
Kids love the water park, fresh water with slides, tons of fun!
Not much to look at but good for kids to get wet but at least low entrance fee.
Small but fun water park for toddlers
It allows you to get close to these closed to 100-year old machine in the drinking water plant. Also, outside of the museum, theres an water amusement park (under the same admission ticket). If you want to play in it, please bring along your swimming attire. It is popular with the locals and many of them bring their children there. Only a handful of the visitors come to the museum.
Perfect public children waterpark! Cheap ticket for great water quality and fun facility. Plenty of roofed seating area, which is essential for the summer time in Taiwan. Come early at weekend and leave for lunch in the nearby neighborhood. Perfect wknd schedule!
A few people took wedding photos here. If you have an interest in engineering and the citys history it might be worth a look.
Hot place for kids to play with water during summer.
Two takeaways from this fascinating museum. First, what kind of colonial power would build such a beautiful building to house such mundane machinery? Second, after the war, many of the Japanese colonial factories were sent back to China or melted down for scrap. How and why did this pumping plant remain intact? This museum is a great preservation of the motors and pumps used to pump river water through a treatment system then up to a reservoir on a hill to supply Taipei with clean water in the early 1900s. Its significance is primarily the elimination of water borne diseases in Taipei.I find it amazing that it is so well preserved. You can get up close to the old machinery and imagine how it used to work. This is one of my favorite small museums in Taipei.
This is a beautiful place to visit, but its run by a private company so they charge you for every visit. We only go for the cherry blossoms now.
The museum is housed in a beautiful old building with a large garden. You will see lots of families playing here and photographers immortalizing their young models or their soon-to-be married couples here. There are several old machines on display, but we have no idea how they work. Nice place to hang out, but little educational value. A missed opportunity.
Outstanding example of Japanese Imperial architecture, there was no need for a building with such a mundane function to be so nicely designed.
Look no further if you want to have a better understanding of where tap water come from. The main building is a trip. Its always amusing to find Euro-Japanese architecture. The campus is quite large, and strolling around it is a pleasure.
Not a lot of interesting stuff to see unless tap water really is your thing. Whats with all the cosplayers?
Very interesting and historic museum of the origin of Taipei tap water.
Good to play ingress inside the park, and take a walk. Dont try the swimming pool easily.
Nice old building and all the old-fashioned equipment inside but no information in English :/
good place to know the history of taipeis water supply
A place full of old style buildings. Very suitable for photo taking.
Best kids park in Taipei.Water and slides in the summer. whats not to like. Age 2 and up.
