Very nice museum. Free of charge, good information about Cardiff’s from foundation to present day.You can visit in 15-20 minutes

We arrived very late, it’s a small museum. Didn’t manage to explore the whole area.

Staff were lovely and we were greeted as soon as we arrived. Theres some really great interactive parts in the exhibits and a lot of fun things that children and adults can enjoy. Worth a visit if youre in the area.

It was small museum in city centre of Cardiff with some facilities for kids and discovery for children. Very friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Great short visit to learn the history of Cardiff. Well located and the staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming.

Great museum lots of history

Hadnt been in a while, absolutely fantastic few hours out for the children. Upstairs is the same as always but we find different every time. Downstairs changes regularly. We love it.

Small museum specifically about the history of Cardiff and access to the original entrance of the building which is amazing.

Not much to see, however, we can learn about Cardiff History. Very interesting!

In and out in 20 minutes. This is a place for children with lots of things to interact with. I came with my mum and both of us were left disappointed but could see that this was a place targeted at children so we didn’t mind. Very small place though. Best bit was the small hallway with tiles, very bright and colourful

Fantastic little museum. Really interesting exhibitions and the staff were so friendly - they went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Thoroughly recommended.

We checked out the museum in Cardiff city, but apart from the amazing tiled corridor, the rest was unfortunately more for kids exploring history than a museum for me. But its still filled with lots of interesting information about the city and its long history!

Just been and it was brilliant. The displays were all interactive and engaging as well as very informative about a range of subjects and periods. The staff too were absolutely lovely, very funny and super helpful in pointing out the most engaging displays and the other fun activities to do. Will deffo go back!

A lovely day out. However, with all the people visiting there was no First Aider on duty. My 8 Yr old grandson tripped over a plinth where an exhibit had been removed and cut and bruised his leg and hand as well as bumping his head on the wall as he fell. I had to search for dome time before I found a member of staff to help us. She didnt know what to do so went for assistance. She returned some time later with an ice pack but no first aid box. She was very apologetic and very concerned about my grandson. Luckily as a nurse we were prepared and sorted him out with our own steri strips and dressings and kept their ice pack.

Fascinating place to be if you are a history or archeology lover. The New Welsh dinosaur fossils was my favourite story

A must for both visitors and residents!.... Amazing to learn so much about the history of Cardiff. The children were not bored one bit and enjoyed more that the adults! Staff were all very helpful and enthusiastic which rubbed off on the kids. Look forward to coming back and finding out more -particularly with the discovery of the caerau hillfort which was the first settlement in cardiff around 6,000 years ago.

Love this place for a rich history and a remake of the library is a very good idea. Friendly staffs and very thoughtful details.

Visit this place if you are interested in the social history of Cardiff. Staff is wonderfully warm. Absolutely lovely.

Fun! As soon as I came in I was given a small iPhone to explore the museum with a voice over explaining all the sections. At the end (I was here for around 45 minsI had a better understanding of Cardiff, its story, traditions and culture. Fun way for tourists to get a quick, fun and accurate timeline on the city

Its a lovely old museum. Used as a film location and stand-in for multiple grand buildings by BBC Wales on a regular basis, and has one of the best collections of big name artists outside the better known UK galleries.

For a city museum this was well laid out. Free admission, free audio guides that are informative and interesting, displays for both adult and children to keep everyone learning.

Dolls Houses are super cute 💓 some history of Tigers Bay people packed in ornamental interiors of Old Cardiffs Library. Good spot to get some unique souvenir from Wales in Museum Shop. Perfect location, just in the heart of the City. But overall? as for museum not enough to see!

A fairly small yet informative museum with a café and gift shop. The museum has several interactive displays although a lot of them were not functioning during my visit. Hopefully theyll be fixed in the near future

Cute little museum. Very informative. There are some really interesting video stories from local characters that you can watch. Museum is FREE and it has a cafe upstairs with table service and helpful staff. There is some games and activities for them. You can find brief history of Cardiff.

Nice to spend an hour or so. The best, for sure, the part with the video of the stories of the people of Cardiff. Emotive.

Very nice Museum! We love it!Especially recommend the little cinema exhibiting short documentaries about Welsh people, their lifes and impacts.

Love to pop in here when we are in Cardiff and learn about the history of the City that I grew up in. There are some really interesting video stories from local characters that you can watch. Well worth a visit, and you are bound to learn something about Cardiff even if you have lived there all your life.

Havent been here, but Google thinks I have and keeps asking for a review. I keep dismissing it in the drop down box but it keeps popping up. Wonderful museum with lovely filmed accounts of local people and Cardiffs history.Find out about history of local pies,river fishermen steel workers and more.Dont forget to have a look at the amazing tiles in the old library entrance!Museum is FREE and it has a cafe upstairs with table service and helpful staff

Small but nice place to take your kids. There is some games and activities for them. You can find brief history of Cardiff. And also there is mini cinema shows Iron and coal factories. There is 4-5 screens explains some important things about specific years. It is just in city centre. You can find easily.

A fabulous place to visit whatever the weather. Central Cardiff location, so much to explore and learn, will keep kids and adults busy and entertained for hours. Fascinating.

Ive lived in south wales all my life and have lived and frequently lived in cardiff and never knew Cardiff Story was there.Its a fantastic multilevel museum which tells the story of cardiff and its place as the financial powerhouse of wales as well as the stage for international co operation !! IDefinitley worth a visit !! Perfect for people all off ages

Clean and bright - when its fully working am sure its a great look at Cardiff through the last 100 (ishyears. Sadly there were at the time of my visit at least 4-5 projectors / interactive items that werent working.Its got a good shop and lots of Welsh gifts and handcrafted items

Fantastic FREE museum documenting the growth of the city and its people. Free audio guide and very child-friendly. Make sure you take a look at the beautiful tiled corridor before you leave. The only downside was that several of the interactive displays were out of order. However, thats all the more reason to visit and support with a donation. Overall a great selection of objects, creatively presented.

Huge favourite with primary age kids, especially good place to spend time in if youre in Cardiff centre with children at the weekend, also check out Llaeth & Siege on the to floor of the same building. A real Cardiff gem.

There is always something new in Cardiff Story Museum. Reveals all the tiny bits of this wonderful city.

Interesting venue to find out Cardiffs history, its landmarks, the river, castle etc. Its one of the smaller museums and only worth a 45 minute visit or so. Be warned there is just one lift and you could be waiting 5-7 minutes at times (stairs are available).

Small museum but with nice interactive exhibits, and objects with stories told by people actually using and working with them in the past. Also, fascinating videos about working lives in the small blue room, but easy to miss! It probably takes less than 1 hour to look around the main parts of the exhibition, so definitely worth a visit even if you are in a hurry (plus its free anyway).
