Museum in a baroque palace displaying personal objects from former lovers along with brief synopses.
Ok, I put 3 stars because its an interesting concept, the premises are nice, the café next door has great coffees. But I found it a bit depressing tbh... Very sad stories, a lot of reading. Well, you should still go to make your own opinion.
Great place if you like to dive into broken relationships of people from around the world.Unique stories followed by objects they kept. Also you can buy cool souvenirs.
This would be my must visit museum. There are lots of stories which can either make you laugh, soothe your heart or make you wanna bawl your eyes out. Definitely would love to visit other museums in different countries.
An unexpected find, needle in the hay stack. This museum was funny at times, sad, and heart warming. Great stories, a true human experience. We didnt come to Zagreb for experiences like this but were really happy to have stumbled across it!
despite its small size this museum offers a lot. a totally unique concept that you dont really stumble across anywhere else, getting the chance to look further into human relationships. get prepared to read a lot and maybe get a bit sentimental
Alright, Ill be the one to say "Nothing special".I mean, its just a bunch of objects left by people who were in a relationship or were related somehow. Yes, there are some interesting stories behind these things, and yes, some of them are pretty emotional, but its definitely not something thats gonna make you jump out of your chair. Staff was polite, though.
Inside the museum there is a very tasty cafe, I highly recommend it and the staff is very friendly and smiling. on our visit we ordered late makiato, late coffee and espresso
Very nice museum with many strong and sad stories about relationships around the world, but the prize is little bit higher that it might be. The museum is really small.
Great idea with quirky exponats and lovely coffee shopVery nice and helpful stsff
What a wonderful experience, this museum is unlike your typical one! One you shouldnt miss when visiting Zagreb.Deep and relatable stories that speak so much about the human condition.
Quite an original place, and intense experience. I have the same feeling as others before mentioned for price (too high for the offer). I have controversial feelings about it overall, so I guess this must be its ultimate goal.A personal note about the museum itself: instead of Zagreb I would choose "Split" as a perfect location !🎯
Such a captivating museum! I was fully invested in the stories, they made me laugh and feel very sad at times. Loved that the stories weren’t just about romantic relationships but also about family ones as well. Definitely would recommend if visiting Zagreb!
great concept, and there was some nice stuff but a lot of the stories + exhibits were just… boring and a bit pathetic, i have to say. as an art curator myself, i would‘ve preferred a more meticulously done exhibition, since some of the objects seem to placed there simply on the basis that they’d been sent in. it’s a great idea so a better selection would make the visit to the museum worthwhile.
Visiting some museums might be quite an exhausting experience, after which you need a solid 2-hour nap, but this museum is.. different! The tour takes ~ 1 hr and though it is about broken relationships somehow afterwards I felt extremely inspired and full of energy and happiness🫤, anyways if you happen to be in Zagreb, definitely check this museum out, I promise it is worth it!
Such an interesting concept!! I loved this museum, I even bought the book. It’s funny, sad, heartwarming, and bittersweet all at once.
Its a small museum and wont take long to walk through but if youre close by, its worth it in my opinion. More than one of the descriptions definitely brought tears to my eyes and theres a guest book you can write in to leave your own memories
Quite entertaining, definitely recommend if you are in Zagreb! It goes from sincerely touching stories to hilariously comical ones. It involves a lot of reading so if you are not into that this is probably not the place for you. It is reasonably priced for the amount of time you would spend there.
Interesting and sad stories from people all over the globe. Some texts were short and sweet, some were a bit too extensive to read.. tbh After a dozen I started scanning instead of fully reading.Would recommend it for adults, not for kids. Our 8year old missed the interactive elements.
This museum has a very interesting concept. You will see a lot of objects (clothes, pieces of jewelry, toys, ticketsand each of the has a story about an ended relationship. I do loved this one.
A unique and small museum filled with the heartbreak and loss of lovers past. Its quaint enough that you can stop by for a quick visit and see most of the attractions without too much notice. It can give a vibe on the human experience, on how we go through life finding those we love and can eventually lose them for all different reasons. Make this a stop to see if youre in this great city.
Unlike any museums Ive ever been to. All its comprised of is tokens of a past relationship and and usually a short (but sometimes lengthy story about the relationship and. How it came to an end. Simple, utterly captivating, heartwarming, heartbreaking, charming, and sad. Its a museum of life in a way and you should absolutely go here when you visit Zagreb.
What a cool concept. Honestly, I wanted to spend as much time reading through the ‘guest book’ as I spent taking in all the fab artifacts. So glad we found this treasure in the heart of Zagreb.
This was probably one of the best museums Ive been to so far! It made me laugh, it almost made my cry, and it made me wonder about all the different kinds of relationships there are in the world. I dont think Ive ever felt so many different emotions while visiting a museum and I can definitely recommend coming here. Its one of a kind!
The experience was amazing...Truly the stories was so inspiring and really I have no words. You should definitely visit the place. Highly recommended!!!!
Absolutely fantastic! From being on the verge of tears, laughing and being absolutely shocked. If you wander through the entire museum (which I recommendit’ll take you about an hour. Cost is 50kn. Each sign is in English and Croatian but a visitor book is provided if you do not speak these languages. Toilets and a cafe inside the museum. Great gift shop, including a book which has more objects not in the museum.Definitely recommend for anyone in Zagreb.
I absolutely loved this museum! This is the first time that I really stood still at every object and read the full story. I also really like the concept of working with donations. The museum shop fits perfectly with the museum and has some really great souvenirs. A must visit!
Do not hesitate to go to this museum if you like to read, like English and/or if you are into love stories. It’s a museum in which there are objects people have given them accompanied with the story of it. Some of them are truly emotional to read, and you will relate somehow with at least some of the stories (there are some about family, not only couples). Even though they say you take from 45min to 1h, I was so involved with the stories, I just lost track of time and spent 2h there, reading and understanding. There’s a book you can write there, it’s a great moment to let go, and there’s also a bar. Great experience, it was my first stop in Zagreb and I definitely say you shouldn’t skip it if you like reading!
Small but interesting museum. Some stories are fun, some stories are sad. All in all a lot of emotions. I loved reading all the stories and at the end I felt like I want to read more.
A very nice experience! Made me validate my losses and broken relationships. Not everything needs to be fixed, more likely accepted. Some stories are funny, most of them sad, others peaceful.
I think this museum is quite unique in terms of theme. Each and every item in the museum has a story which will amuse and make you sad both at same time. Some stories are very touching and quite a collection of from everywhere in the world. I believe its must visit in Zagreb, you cant hear stories of people everywhere.
Amazing museum. I really enjoyed it. A bit sad but also entertaining 😘
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll remember your fond memories of pizza. I wasn’t sure what to expect visiting this museum, but I decided to go because of its popularity and it ended up being the first thing I did in Zagreb. I absolutely loved it! The museum takes about 60-90 minutes to go through if you read every story (I did). Many of the stories are lighthearted or funny, but some are very sad (including a story of a young girl who was groomed and an unused wedding dress of a woman who’s fiancé passed a few days before the wedding). Many of the stories involve romantic relationships, but some involve family relationships, and relationships with food, toys, and one’s self. Perfect for couples and singles, though I would not recommend bringing younger children. 💕
I absolutely recommend this museum! Its full of emotional stories, some funny, some sad. Had a really good time here and looking forward to visiting again!
What a unique and heart-rending experience. The best of the exhibits evoke emotions connected with loss ranging from despair to grim satisfaction. We read each story hungrily and pored over the objects that symbolised them. This is a truly touching museum.
*Baby stroller friendly location*. First I wasn’t sure to go or not. It was pouring rain in Zagreb and at first it was just a place to hide in to skip the rain. But ot turned out to be a must visit musuem. Lots of fun/touching/interesting past relationship stories. Would definitely recommend it. The girls in the reception are very polite and the cafe has good coffee.
The new famous museum. Its cool to have this geek museum. A lot of objects donated by broken hearts. You will read rhe stories related with the stories, some of them funny, some of them sad, but its sure you will feel conection with yours
The girl in the reception was super nice. Funny and sad exhibits/story. I really took my time reading all their stories. It was a lovely museum
Not a typical museum. The personal stories were interesting, funny, touching, sad, weird, and gross at different points. I enjoyed my visit more than I expected. Cool souvenirs, too. I disagree with previous comments claiming that its small. I read every story and felt like if there were more, it wouldve been too much
Cute little museum, although I would consider more of an exhibition with a cafe. I would have had my coffee here if I knew they one before arriving.
Very entertaining. It was the funniest and saddest museum (outside the Topography of Terror Museum in Berlin). Not recommended for little kids. Too many things to touch. Pet friendly.
I’ll be honest, I really wasn’t keen on coming here and thought it would be a flying visit or ‘something to do’ at best….Best I go eat some Humble pie 🥧It’s not solely related to lovers, there are stories between children and their parents aswell.Found some stories funny, some shocking, some wasn’t believable and a few that hit a nerve. Uploaded a few snaps so I could repeat/share the stories with friendsA must visit if you are ever in Zagreb, I would allow at least 1 hour depending on how quick you choose to read
Unexpectedly amazing place. Went there expecting some kind of tourist attraction with no real value, but it turned out to be a really encompassing exhibition of human relationships...well mostly of the ways they endand the ways people deal with it and go through breakups, deaths of loved ones and so on.If you have time in Zagreb, this museum is a must.Whats most important, being there makes you appreciate the relationships you have even more. Or it can open your eyes if your partner should be provided a place in this museum).
Interesting stories, but quite small. Maybe if you read fast, youll be done within 1 hour.
An excellent museum located in a beautiful part of town. I loved reading the stories - I felt a true connection with people that Ive never met.Taking a star off for making me hold back tears the entire time. Its very uncomfortable to do so in a public place. Also, I wear glasses and mask, and some point I couldnt see anything.
Highly Recommended! Its a must visit if you are in Zagreb. The most interesting museum Ive ever been to. I found the stories were a mix of comedy and darkness. The museum holds items that tells story of those who have lived through a broken relationship. Some were terrible situations and others were comedic.
Such a unique place. It gives you strong nostalgic vibes. Visitors can experience someone’s love story and have a good laugh. You will need to read the label description of the exhibits, some of them are really creative and a bit weird in a good way, some are touching and romantic. The museum has a small souvenir store, where you can get some tote bags, mugs, soaps, key chains etc. However I don’t think it’s cool to romanticize break ups, emotional pain, cause some fragile souls might get stuck in this. Maybe add an info stand with the techniques for faster more successful healing ❤️🩹
Small but interesting museum about mementos from relationships. All items have story plaques explaining and some are very sad. Others leave you with a chuckle. On street parking which gets more difficult during the day. Best go early and plan for an hour visit. Has gift shop and restroom onsite.
Museum as original as it is interesting. Each rupture story is illustrated with an object and accompanied by a story. It is not a very long museum to go through but the format was still unheard of for me.
I would highly recommend visiting this gorgeous museum in the heart of Zagreb. Its definitely a must-see. Every personal object was left over from former lovers as a representation of their failed love relationship. There are also brief descriptions for visitors to read with every item! Very interesting and it’s really cool (and sometimes really sadto know the story that each of the items went through!
A niche museum dedicated to broken relationships. The exhibits range from the sentimental to the cathartic. In order to fully enjoy the experience, be sure to read the stories! The mementos by themselves are not as interesting without the background context. The museum is fairly small but it took me around 1.5 hours to look over all the exhibits.
