Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 2, 65185 Wiesbaden, Germany, Wiesbaden
Hessian state-run museum with collections of local history & varied art & natural history exhibits.
I had a good time there. The people work there was very friendly some speak English and others not but they are very polite and helpful when I had some question. And near by has a place to park my car. 👍👍👍👍👍
So many interesting things! It takes more than one day to get to know this place well and enjoy.
On day is not enough to appreciate all the wonders of this stunning museum. Splendid Art Nouveau collection!
Great place to visit. Beautiful paintings and sculptures. The thing unique here is the exposition in rocks and animals. Great learning opportunity. Most people here speak a little English and can help direct you if you get lost.
Lovely museum with a variety of collections, in this case (aug 2022 a really large and wonderfull collection of jugendstil furniture.More displays on art and educating nature on the upper floors.Wheelchair accessible and friendly staff (except for the very very blonde lady at the entrance who didnt have her best day at the office).
Fantastic Art Nouveau collection among other things. Certainly not a place for a quick visit as we spent about 4 hours here not managing to cover all exposition rooms.
Wonderful experience with the kids in the museum !! Very very educational and interesting !! The kids would love to be there, again and again 🙂
Since 2019 this provincial musk also houses a major world collection of Art-Nouveau, unbelievable in its quantity and quality.
Best place ror intellectuality people
The place is nice, full of beautiful artifacts and furniture of the 19th century when I was there during an expo. Other than that, the security is extremely rude and insulted my friends and I; therefore I wouldn’t directly recommend the place unless art is a very important aspect to you.
Loved the setting and whole interpretation
Theres some cool rocks in there
Wiesbaden city MuseumBeautiful city with beautiful museum
A must go place!! Trully amazing.
They have a fabulous and diverse permanent collection. There temporary exhibits run the spectrum on the type of art presented. The information is given in German and English. Membership for German speakers seems incredible (I only speak English), but as a member I get emails monthly on a number of lectures that are available on various topics covering their art to their natural history collection.
Best harmonic place each other city&fauna.I like there.
Relaxing atmosphere .. well organized .. however not much to see.. should have more varieties in nature and science sections
The building is absolutely wonderful, as well as the exhibitions. Highly recommend to see the Art Nouveau section with its canvas and period furniture. The museum also hosts an exposition of Wiesbadens famous resident, Alexey von Jawlensky.
Museum is fantastic for young students who are in school phase, learning chemistry, various crystals, bio-diversity in nature and bit of history.Nothing much for art lovers / historians. The radioactivity of the stones will give you Chernobyl vibes.
A fantastic opportunity to get out and explore the city of Wiesbaden and the hidden gems it has to offer.... Today it was the art museum, with exhibits from Winston Roeth "Speed of light", it was well worth the visit and of course during the week this is not crowded. The viewing is Corona conform and the hygiene concept is well thought out and articulated. The exhibits from the Belle -Epoque era where very interesting too. Wheelchair accessible and a well sorted souvenir shop are also here.
Poor parking. Very clean and good exhibits. A great afternoon trip for all ages.
Extensive collection of paintings. The largest collection of Alexej von Jawlensky in the world.
A must place to visit in Weisbaden. Make sure you have time in your pocket which is must. Will for sure visit once more and spent more time.
Amazing pieces of contemporary and masters of art..antiquities..natural history...something for everyone..will visit again definitely...and interesting things for purchase..loved my visit
We had a catering for 200 peaple for a bank great place for children to learn about different animals and were they come from ive been there with my kids its lots of fun 👌
Awesome place for arts
Nice Museum . Old art, new art, animals ....you have all Lot of differents things to see .. i like it.
Very nice museum with huge collection of natural history, art of the nature, modern and classic paintings from old masters. Good collection of colourful insects, fishes and crabs........ There is an entry fee. Some Saturdays are free. Check before you visit for opening time and holidays. It is close to city center and train station.
Amazing collection, not too crowded, good parking options, affordable good food, and clean.
So many interesting exhibitions, the current one combines Architecture, Art and Nature. Endless corredors, one just does not want to leave this si te.
Very nice medium size museum. Exhibits seem to be focused around color, shape, and form. Museum has two sides, one side devoted to art works, and the other side devoted to nature. Convenient location for walking from Wiesbaden town center.
This museum was pretty nice. Honestly if I was by myself, I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more. With a 23 month old child and myself, that is another story. If you are with a child, you cannot take the stroller inside the museum. Backpacks must be worn in the front. Between my toddler walking and keeping my bag in the right direction, it was a bit tricky. Also I wish that they would ask for the ticket a bit sooner. I had to hold onto my toddler and dig for my ticket because my son was about to go touch everything. T_TConsider having a backpack leash if your child is a bit handsy and energetic! Hahaha :D
Excellent building, very good collection. At nouveau exhibition was extraordinarily best place to see Jawlensky.Cafe not so great.
Loved this museum..it is combinatiin of art, lost mative indian culture, painting...etc...they kept a lot of taxidermies in the museum..polar bear is definitely the eye catching..they do have few halls with art and painting...but I am fascinated by taxidermies and also how they distinguish the birds, animals, and other creatures with titles like speed time color...etc..its worth a visit
Awesome museum but just one thing wrong I feel over watched everytime I visit. Its like they think I am going to steal or touch something from the wall or display.
Excellent display of decorative arts history in the last 2 centuries. Café inside for refreshments.
Entrance and shop nice. Didnt see more because preparations for next exhibition were underway.
interesting place. exhibition for kids, for young creators, for those interested in "old masters". i loved the eiszeit gallery and the aestitics den farben (the esthetics of colours).
Very nice museum with huge collection of modern and classic art from old masters. There is as well part with natural history which also has very big collection of different insects, small and big animals, fossils and so on. I found that this part is specially interesting for kids! Warm recommendations!
There was a very interesting and well curated Mondrian exposition, as well as a kid friendly exposition on the ice age. Really enjoyed our trip there.
Exhibits on everything from Ice Age to minerals to animals. Great way to spend a cold or rainy day in Wiesbaden
Went to see an amazing exhibition of Mondrians works. The exhibition was well-planned, and we really enjoyed it. Other exhibitions were less interesting for us, even though also well-organised. Tip 1: you can buy a ticket for several exhibitions at once. Tip 2: check if you can get a students or other discount on the website. Tip 3: you can buy some souvenirs in the local shop, even though theyre somewhat overpriced.
Very nice museum in Wiesbaden. The museum is split in modern art and natural science.
A very impressive museum with huge art spaces. The modern art collection is particularly impressive. Jawlensky and Beuys on display. And much else besides.
Great collection, wonderful museum. Great collection of Jawlensky paintings (who is buried on the Russian cemetery in Wiesbaden). A wonderful nude portrait of Quappi by Beckmann (upside down). And, of course, one of the Nanna portraits by Anselm Feuerbach.
It’s been two years since I moved to wiesbaden and somehow I’d never been here before. This place is like a mixture of a painting museum and natural history museum. Some stuff exhibited are really cool. I liked especially they line animals up by colour. :)
It was a free entry weekend. It had multiple floors and a wide variety of exhibits. I havent visited many museums before to be able to compare this one to others, but I enjoyed it very much. I would definitely recommend it to others, especially on one of their event nights.
Lovely collection, loads of great things for kids.
Very cosy place. Close to the city center and the Town hall square. Beautiful permanent collections and special exhibitions. Free WiFi. Very friendly and hepful staff. A must for museum goers and friends of the arts. Sections of the museums are specifically dedicated to children in order to make them aware of the importance of environmental issues. The museum is very large and should not be visites in a rush. There is a small but nice cafeteria on site.
Nice museum, free first Saturday of month. Surprisingly good own collection and rotating exhibits. Permanent exhibit for kids too!
