Good place to learn about Tin history, mining, and applications. Lady in charge and the security were so nice and told is a lot of things related to the museum. The museum itself was good and well maintained. So recommended if you visit Pangkal Pinang.

If you are a metallurgist and visiting pangkal pinang, Yoi have to visit this place. The guide is so friendly and the information inside the museum are comprehensive.

I love this place. First of all its free. And they had few tour guide, for me who knows nothing, it was great. The museum are in good condition, clean and well managed.

This museum was awarded as the 1st tin museum in Asia. Its located at Pangkalpinang, just around 30 minutes from Depati Amir Airport in Pangkalpinang. The visitors can learn about the origin of tin in Bangkabelitung as well as enjoy city touring in 15 destinations around Pangkalpinang.

A really interesting museum! Filled with historical artefacts and mining equipments from PT.Timah, there is also an augmented reality sandbox which is very exciting to played with, and a broad range of varying rocks which you can observe, touch, and documented, collected from Bangka - Belitung with differeny minerals! The hospitality is also very nice, you are welcomed and guided very patiently by the workers there... Overall 5/5! Will go there a second time

Very interesting place to visit, the museum management is preparing the tour guide to explain and tell some stories to the visitors. the tour guide is professional and really understand the history.It was nice and educational, the material and good stuffs shown are interesting. the toilet is not big but surely clean.I dont remember the ticket, but it wasnt expensive and definitely worth it.

Museum is the best place if you want to know about history, in this case is the history of tin in Indonesia. You can learn more about tin and PT Timah history, from the first ever tin used as currency and accessories until how it is processed and exported by PT Timah is explained here. The Informations here are easy to understand. What i really interested here is the information about thorium whom the guide said its sample and information is available here, but actually it doesnt (well it is to be expected since thorium is a radioactive material like uranium 😅).Im not bored to say " i respect locals who visit a museum " since there only a few locals who is interested in visiting museum (almost all museum ive ever visited, the visitor there mostly foreigners)

This is a must place when you have time to visit Bangka Island. After surrounding all parts of the museum, I finally knew the name of this island Bangka came from Vanka (Portuguese wordmeans tin. This word represented how this island rely on tin. Tin is the main comodity. I was amazed the history of tin exploration which started in 17th centuries displayed well-organized.

Was closed at the time of visit (Friday- looks like a smaller version of a solar museum in muntok.

As a major tin mine producer, Bangka has its own Tin Museum or Museum Timah so you can learn everything about tin and its mine from beginning process until the final products.The good thing about the the museum is 199% free. The installation is good but couldve been better with a small upgrade from the graphic design division.For the management, please keep the museum cleans and the maintenance.

This museum is easy to find as it is located in the center of Pangkalpinang city. Its space is quite small for a museum. Surprisingly, it has a complete information regarding tin mining. And it is free of charge!!!We will be able to see the map of tin mining in Bangka island, Indonesia, also the mining tools, many tin samples and the miniatures of mining activities. There is also a big picture of mining history in the last room.If you have enough time to spend in Pangkalpinang city, this museum is recommended to visit!

You can learn about tin and its history here, particularly about tin in Bangka Belitung. If you come at weekdays you can visit the pewter crafting just 3-4 blocks to the right of the museum.

It doesnt help me understand about lead proces, how it was found, etc. But the AC was cold, good place to escape the heat.

Right place to know about Bangka and its history behind, especially about tin mining. This place used to be Roem Royen Converention. Good place to learn while travelling.

it is a historical and herritage building. some of our independence day story are from here, the preparation of round table meetting are held here. nowdays it become museum, in weekend there are a free tour, called ponish tour held by the timah company go around the city visiting the historisal and herritage spot and building, you will listening the story of pangkalpinang.

A nice place to learn the history of mining industry in the island.

Not a big museum and a few collections. But it presents some basic knowledge about Bangka island and tin mining history here. The entrance is free of charge. Theres another bigger Tin Museum in Muntok.

When you visit bangka island, you must visit this museum once. The place is neat and the guide is friendly. I hope they add more display about tin.

As the name implies, this museum is about history of tin metal in Indonesia. Why in Bangka Island? Well its because here is the biggest tin producer in Indonesia. The condition of the museum it self is good, but i think theres a need to push more of its publication. I feel that theres too little visitor here.

It is a Small museum with tin as a theme in Belitung. There is a working workshop producing pewter for souvenirs.

The locals should cooperate and use museum area to perform several interesting events, so this place can be more lively 😁😁😁👍
