Vivid history, cool place
Amazed with the collection of this museum. A historical trace of a kingdom initiated Indonesia. Collections were dated back from 12 centuries.
Good for history and education
The museum is clean and definitely have some very important artefacts from Majapahit Kingdom. However, some areas seemed to have not been well maintained and the information about the collections worn out or missing. Thus, the digging area was closed and the viewing platforms seemed dangerous. Its very cheap entrance fee and government mustve had allocation for this kind of important things. Just sad to see the condition, they might as well increase the fee or allocate more to maintain the museum and the collections.
A fascinating history of rhe Majapahit region.
How can I not love this place? I love history, I love to learn from our ancestors for the benefit of our future. It always intriguing to come and enjoy the museum. There are always new things to learn everytime I revisit this place.

You can take selfie with the objects as the background though, ask the receptionists for this information to be sure :).I like Majapahit Kingdom history. My grandparents are from Mojokerto! Good historical site
Trowulan Museum is an archaeological museum located in Trowulan, Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia. This museum was built to store various artifacts and archaeological findings found around Trowulan. This place is one of the most important historical locations in Indonesia that is related to the history of the Majapahit kingdom. Most of the museum collections come from the Majapahit kingdom, but the collection also covers various historical eras in East Java, such as the Kahuripan, Kediri, and Singhasari kingdoms. This museum is located on the west bank of the Segaran pond. Trowulan Museum is a museum that has a collection of relics from the most complete Majapahit period in Indonesia. The history of the Trowulan Museum is closely related to the history of the Trowulan archaeological site. The ruins of the ancient city in Trowulan were discovered in the 19th century. Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, governor general of Java between 1811 and 1816 reported the existence of temple ruins that spread over an area of several miles. At that time the area was overgrown with dense teak forests so it was not possible to carry out more detailed surveys. The urgent need to prevent looting and theft of artifacts from the Trowulan site was the main reason for the construction of a kind of simple storage warehouse which eventually developed into the Trowulan Museum. The museum was founded by Henri Maclaine Pont, a Dutch architect and archaeologist, and thanks to the role of the Regent of Mojokerto, Kanjeng Adipati Ario Kromodjojo Adinegoro. The new museum was officially opened in 1987. The building of the museum covers an area of 57,625 square meters, this building holds a collection of old Trowulan Museum and various stone statues that were previously stored at the Mojokerto Museum. The construction of a new museum has been proposed in this area and this location has been proposed to be a UNESCO World Heritage area.
Very good collection, quite complete and with plenty of signage translated into English, even though the translation is not always correct or accurate. Mainly statues, reliefs and some artefatcs as pots and utensils, and there are some structures built around excavation areas in the yard inside that you can climb on and watch the remains from the top. Open until 4pm
Hasnt changed much in the past 25 years. Standard Majapahit wares. New small exhibit on Islam at Majapahit era.
Its a good place and has a lot of lessons in it.. If you need help such as someone to guide you and explain, you can ask the musem staff for help. The trip in here is such a fun and memorable trip.
Visit this museum to know and learn more about the Kingdom of Majapahit from its archaelogical heritages
Interesting place to learn hiatory of the biggest kingdom in Indonesia.
Its a great place to study about Majapahit and also archeology in East Java.
If you plan to go there by public bus, take the « deluxe » bus from the Purubaya bus terminal, straight to Jombang (line 8). Stop in jombang, in the first stop. Then wait there for the normal bus that is coming back to Surabaya. Ask to stop near the museum, which is on the main road.I don’t know how to come back to the Purubaya bus terminal. It could also be possible to go with the normal bus to Jombang, 2-3h.This is not a trip for beginners, you may want to consider going there with a private car.I eventually couldn’t manage to visit the museum, not enough time and too complex in term of transportation. :-(
Museum that tells us about the historical of Majapahit Kingdom through their artifacts. Most of the artifacts found from the archaeological excavations through the years and also accidentally found by the farmers around. They also have a big tent to view the excavated area for years. Inside they have inscriptions from Mataram Kuna era to Majapahit era and many statues made of stone.Better to ask for guides since not all the artifacts have labels or even though they have the information still at minimum state.
Great place to see history of majapahit. Many beautiful candi in this museum. You will get good historical photo in thi place.
Good standard museum. U can see everything of heritage Majapahit kingdom. This museum show kingdom artifac from Majapahit, Singhasari and Kahuripan kingdoms like temple fragmen, statue, ritual thing etc.
They have many artifacts from Majapahit era, but with very limited information and story about the kingdom itself (and even when there are, only some are written in broken English). Taking pictures is prohibited in almost every corner. Not really sure whats the function of the modern-look structure next to the museim.
Trail the history of Majapahit emperium. It was good, but the aircon doesnt works properly.
The admission fee is 5000 rupiahs each person. Cheaper when you are in aa group. It is consists of the remnants of temples and archaeological objects that have been discovered before. Remember that you cant take any pictures inside the museum. Must-visit when you are in Mojokerto.
Interesting collection. A bit chaotic if you happen to go during school tours. Its well worth getting a guide, as the written descriptions of the arifacts are not always clear.
Big Museum with many stone and history from majapahit kingdom.

The place where was Kingdom of Majapahit begun and very nice for education to know The Indonesian Emperor Kingdom Hinduism in Java Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Big place, so many historical things over here.
I think this place is really big. There are many historical things here. The local guide is very goodBut Im afraid when I went to the toilet because there is no lamp in toilet. I hope the crew can do better there 😊
big effort is truly in need to polish this place. a museum with national treasures should be treated more than just a storing palce
Storing objects the history of the kingdom in eastern Java from Airlangga kingdom until Mojopahit. Although close to the city of Surabaya but the visitors especially from young people is very few. Mojopahit is the largest Kingdom in Indonesia. And from the museum you can go to Candi Tikus, Candi Bajang Ratu, Candi Bentar, Candi Brahu and kolam Segaran, also you can go to Yoni Gambar in Wonosalam area
Important remnant of 13th-15th century Great Majapahit Empire. Unfortunately, the site is not well maintained. Try "Sambel Wader" (fried freshwater fish with local saucenearby restaurants; it is the best ever.
