Museum Architectural Reserve "Bozhentsi" - Museum in Gabrovo, Bulgaria
Museum Architectural Reserve "Bozhentsi" in Gabrovo
Description
Little village, keeping Bulgarian spirit and crafts alive to visitors. Must see, when in this part of Bulgaria 🇧🇬
MoreQuite and peaceful old village. One of the most popular place in the area. Must see.
MoreOne of my favourite place to take a walk, u would fully recommend visiting that. It feels like youve been turned back in time. So so awesome 👍
MoreOne of the "must-see" places in Bulgaria.
A unique location, hidden in the heart of the mountain. Guided tours at reasonable prices are available and short videos are shown to help you immerse in the atmosphere. A few souvenir shops and restaurants, parking at the entrance. Nowadays there are only 15 permanent residents.
MorePicturesque village with a couple of good restuarants if you fancy lunch.
Over crowded place, we arent able to eat because every place was "busy"
Located just right from the entrance to the complex.
Very nice
Amazing village with old houses 🏘
Beautiful sites, tranquility, hospitable people.
The food was absolutely delicious, we had a take away and it was a blast.
Well preserved old buildings and gardens
Perfect place for walk and destress
Ok-ish if you like walking in a village. A lot of souvenir shops and restaurants to pick.
MoreAnother wonderful place next to Gabrovo. It is an old style village, preserved its vision through the years. Just perfect to walk and see the old Bulgarian culture, streets and houses.
MoreA picturesque village a 30 minute drive from Gabrovo. The architecture and the overall atmosphere are stunning. Would definitely recommend!
MoreA must see village if you are in the region. The village is well preserved and most of the houses are authentic. During our visit I noticed several new buildings under construction. Hope when finished will not impact the overall experience of visiting an old village. Getting there is easy, just be mindful of the narrow road, especially in the last 10-15 kilometers. Cars are not allowed in the village, if you do not stay there. Wheelchairs accessible, however the experience will not be the best due to the stone paved streets. You will need to purchase tickets if you wish to visit the museums in the village.
MoreSuch a genuine Bulgarian village
Very interesting and beautiful place.
Beautiful place. Keeps the tradition and history alive!
Amazing!
Small, nice, coquet: spend one hour here, will be funny!
Really nice and quiet village. If you are looking for a day away- thats the place. We ate at "Bojesnko hanche" and the food its really tasty! There are also a lot of beautiful handmade souvenirs. We liked everything there.
MoreMust visit this fairytale village.
Place used to be much more natural and full of hardworking craftsmen. Its a shame that mostly crafts and trade became mostly trade and only some crafts. Im assuming crafts are going to disappear entirely not long into the future but even then... The scenery alone is reason enough to visit. Even more than once..
MoreOne of the best places to visit in Bulgaria. Really nice! Especially the one of a kind stone roofs! Yes, stone roofs! :)
MoreDuring the weekend ana holidays it is too crowded. Not bad place but if you want relax, it is not for you. But for eating in old style houses, it is ok.
MoreHad a lovely time walking around the village. It’s worth it!
Authentic, peaceful, just magnificent!
Beautiful village that takes you back in history.
A great little village that has preserved the architecture of the old times. Hidden in the mountain it’s a great getaway spot. Little shops are offering great handmade gifts, sweets and souvenirs. We had a great time
MoreDelicious traditional foodThe place is amazing - with very authentic atmosphere, friendly people and traditional dishes made with local fresh products. We had dinner there twice and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.
MoreMy favourite place in Bulgaria. It is very beautiful in spring and summer - the nature surronding Bozhentsi is breath-taking and the architecture makes you think you are in a fairytale. The museums in Bozhentsi are also very interesting! I highly recommend doing the trail between Bozhentsi and Dryanovo monastery or the trail between Bozhentsi and Tryavna!
MoreLove the place! Is in the middle of nowhere, with such nice cascade and a very interesting cave
MoreLooks like its more of a place to spend money at instead of a museum. Lots of bars and restaurants, but no plaques telling you what youre looking at. They also charge 3 lev for parking.
MoreGreat architectural monuments of the Bulgarian culture and folklore!
Very nice
No open museums later in the afternoon.
Old bulgarian architecture style of small mountain villages (more than 200 years old, beautiful nature and hospitality you can find in Bozhentsi.
MoreJust amazing
Walking down the small streets out of the crowded area is awesom!
Old nice village!
A small village with restored traditional old houses. Some of them are holiday houses, some are inhabited on a regular basis. The streets are cobbled and traffic is restricted. Climb up the paths in the village, dont stay just in the center
MoreVery unique and authentic atmosphere. Good food and beautiful surroundings.
Really good place with awful food.
The feeling is that you are embraced by the forest, while still enjoying delightful rustic architecture.
MoreWonderful place, well preserved in its natural condition. Strongly recommend to pay for a guided tour. It is worthy and does not matter if you are 2 or 10 guys the tax is only one so you can share it !
MoreGreat for history buffs. Was not my or girlfriends thing
A live museum depicting a traditional Bulgarian village. Also some nice cafes and small restaurants. Best to visit in the spring or summer, in the winter quite slippery.
