Museu do Caramulo - Museum in Viseu, Brazil
Excellent museum!
Surprising to find such a nice and complete museum in a beautiful mountain village. Has a lot of cars, some very interesring ones. Very pilote staff too.
A great museum to visit in a rather unexpected place!!! If you love cars and motorbikes this is a place to visit! Loved the super cars exhibition!
An unexpected delight. The drive there was very scenic and the museum itself an attractive building with ample parking. I was first attracted by a special exhibition of modern supercars which was interesting but I am actually was more impressed by the standing display of cars and motorcycles dating from the beginning of the 20th century till the 80s. Ill make a point of returning with visitors who are interested in the history of motoring.
It is a bit of drive to the museum on rural roads but well worth the trouble. The car museum has about 10 modern super cars (speeds 300kmh plusand in another building a wide selection of vintage cars and motorcycles from the late 1890s to 1990s (perhaps 30 or more). The visit took a little over an hour was really enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended if you are in the area. Thanks.
Nice Museum with art from the 15th century to now and cars and bikes from the 1900s.
Great collection
Lovely setting, range of things to see, spotlessly clean, lots of space, fabulous views on way up the mountain. Interesting artefacts, vehicles and artwork.Would be nice to have layout, guide and translation available.Great visit - thank you.
A beautiful place for an interesting visit. Up close and personal with the art works in the museum. A lot of history in the car museum and they also have a collection of motorcycles from the first types to modern times. A good place for a visit on a rainy day
Cool combination of art & cars!
Good collection of vintage stuff.... Quite a climb to the village!
Love it 💕
Loved it!
Has a very interesting collection of a variety of classic cars.It has an exemplary of Ford T, phantom III and qnd unique in the world De-Dion Bouton that is able to carry 10 passengers, being the longest ad biggest in the world. It also has the 3 cars that belong to Salazar, being that one of those he used for 23y.It is worth a visit!
Its a lovely, charming museum with some marvellous paintings, cars and toys.
Very pleasant event at Caramulo city. The locals are very welcoming, city is very clean with a lot of service. The attraction of the day was Rampa de Caramulo, so many vehicles to see.
Great cars to visit and great view
Excellent place. I love it
I enjoyed the visit. It has a really nice collection of old cars. However, they dont accept international debit/credit cards....
Top
Very good car collection. Ive seen bigger ones, but the Bugatti Type 35 B made it for me. The Toys From Other World where also very nice.
Place really worth seeing. A lot of historic cars and motorbikes. There is also an art gallery and huge collection of miniature models.
Some nice examples but not really worth the long drive to get there. Staff couldnt have been less interested in selling us tickets etc.. dont bother...
Great if youre into old cars. Worth the trip.
Amazing collection of cars. A bit to expensive.. There were some cars that werent there
Lets you see, but not touch, real Veteran and Vintage cars. Fair representation of old cars. Apparently all the vehicles still run and drive, one of which I saw being driven, a 1934 Hispano Suiza, it was brilliant.
Eventhough the museum area is small, there are many very nice cars. Worth a trip.
Fantastic museum, highly recommended. Great collection of both classic and modern cars.
Excellent spot for car lovers and so much more!
Very good car collection.
Absolutely amazing!
Great museum with a fantastic collection of classic cars
One of the best museums of Portugal
Collectible cars, toys, historical artifacts and art (Salvador Dali and Picasso among them). The town itself sports very narrow and steep streets, so drive with care.
Nice museum on a beautiful place
Its a perl lost in the middle of Portugals. Everyone should come hear at least once.
Great museum with awesome exibitions
Overall evrytjing is in good condition, but the museum is small. Still very noce to see a few iconic historic cars.
Beautiful Cars with a history to them and artwork. Loved the star wars display
Really worth a visit! Impressive art collection, and some beautiful classic cars.
Im rating it with 4 stars only because of the temporary Porsche exhibition. The rest of the museum, even if youre a motorhead, is poor considering the relatively high price you pay for the entrance (8 euros).Todays museums, especially those related to technological aspects of our life - such as this one, 80% about cars - need to implement new exhibition techniques, swifter and more interactive than a car and a sign with a couple of sentences about it. Bragging about all the cars being ready to run and then you cant even approach one to open a door, feel it inside or hear its engine running is something I honestly dont understand. Not even through a recorded sound playable next to the car? Come on, you can do better than that!As I mention above, the Porsche exhibition is a must - Im a Porsche fan by the way - and the Star Wars temporary is also neat. The toys shouldnt be there and the art museum is poor with a couple of exceptions.Handicapped people cant access the museum - steps and steps to go everywhere without lifts or ramps available.Ladies need to smile a bit more. If you dont want to see people get another job.
Do you like old cars ? HAHAHA ! THAT is the place where you want to go. Pretty simple.
Probably the best automotive museum in the world!
Currently on display a starwars collection and the history of Volkswagen.
Interesting Star Wars toys collections
Nice collection of cars, but could be bigger
One of the best "hidden gems" of the portuguese museums :)
Well worth a visit, particularly if youre into classic and historic cars. The art selection is pretty nice too.
Nice old cars and some history.
Strange combination of an art collection, old and modern art, aswell as a car museum with an impressive collection of historic cars. The museum is situated in the village of Caramulo, high in the mountains.
