Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias, Av. del Professor López Piñero, 7, 46013 Valencia, Spain, Valencia
Bright, modern science museum featuring a variety of interactive exhibits & workshops.
very futuristic huge architectural structures. Very impressive. It is the start area of the Valencia Marathon
The museum is small and good. 1 hr is enough to see this place. Different architecture and well maintained.
It has a ton of interactive experiments that will help you build your science intuition. You can explore everything from sounds, to space, the human brain.
Very nice, although what we liked the most was the boat ride outside 😂
I have to say that It was less impressive than I expected. Of course it is a nice building with an impressive structure. However, its also in desperate need of cleaning so the shiny white comes back to how it probably originally was.
The museum is part of the Ciutat Des les Arts I les Ciéncies. Architecture is spectacular. It houses multiple interactive exhibitions (space, sound and others). There is a small coffee shop and store located on the ground floor. You can ride an electric water board or canoe on the outside pool, so much fun!
Being a researcher I always feel that there is a strong communication gap between the people with non science background. It is due to lots of complex scientific terms due to that normal people start feeling boring and they do not want to listen the scientific research at all. But when I visited the science museum in Valencia the case was completely opposite. There was few reasons I observed first was due to its Avant-garde architecture, Designning, which attracts people to visit inside also from far away. Second there are lots of model system which engage people directly and in that way people are also understanding the complex scientific term and enjoying also. I think such place need to be present everywhere.
Need to see for the architecture! Amazing. If you have teenagers this is good. Make sure to visit all the buildings.
One of the most impressive buildings in Valencia and maybe in Europe. The museum is truly inspiring for all ages from 10 to 100 years. Maybe not for children younger than 10 years since there is a lot of science which younger children cannot understand. You can easily spend hours inside and not see all exhibitions displayed.
Its magnificent a must visit while in Valencia, we used the metro which was so easy from the city centre and only a short walk to the Museum area which covers over 2Kms.Cafés, bars park area and plenty of room to sit down.Excellent shopping mall very close by.So much to see and do.
What can I say? A must visit on EVERY visit to València. Even for a small walk, this space has something magical to it and it’s impossible not to enjoy its stunning architecture, the buildings of the complex and how well nature and modernity are so well balanced. Everytime I go I discover something new, and I wouldn’t mind visiting it a thousand more times.
This place is just AMAZING. The light that the pool and fountains with the emisferic building makes is something really special...
Beautiful location for picutres, relaxed athmosphere, great architecture and intesting science exhibitions.
A fantastic super modern na futuristic design which is going to be extra new and unique for long years. A nice place for a walk or even a stroll, for taking splendid photos and just resting. A superb collection of metal sculptures in water created by Mitoraj. All of these buildings are worth visiting not only outside but also inside. In Valencia its a must see plus just walk in the old bed of the Turia River.
A great science museum with a lot of interactive exhibits. The only downside: the sound exhibition wasnt very well organised, most items didnt work properly because there was too much noise in the room (it was very crowded despite a working day)
Probably 4 stars for adults but reviewing with parent hat on... 🤔Bits of it are great... The architecture of the building itself is incredible and there are some good installations. Our LO enjoyed running around all over the place and the sound installation was good (although as below, needed a lot of adult support to access).However... visiting with a 3.5 year old and a few things stand out... Toilets only seem to be available at one end of a very long building, potential accident risk if he had needed the loo at the last minute! Lots of interactive features on the third floor body installation but not very easy to access for little people. Food and drink choices (generally in Spainfor feeding a little person are slim, here we used the cafeteria on the ground floor.
Great for kids, some shows are only in Spanish. Since it is a huge space you dont feel it is overcrowded even on Saturday. All the information are also written in English. For adults you pay around 8-9 euro.
Admission isn’t expensive but I wouldn’t really recommend it, the exhibits are quite boring, and not well maintained, a good few are broken. You can go into the ground floor restaurants without getting a ticket, and sitting outside at the cafe taking in the views was the most enjoyable part for me. You can rent lots of different boats and electric SUP to go on the lake, seeing one guy jump off his SUP when the thought he was going to crash was a memory I will cherish!
Nice museum for kids and adults. On the one hand the concept is good to offer hands-on objects to try things and learn by doing.Unfortunately 90% of the objects were broken and could not be used and show the scientific point. In addition there were many visitors who have no patience to read and immerse in the topics. We have seen many touching the objects without reading the instructions so they failed and went on to the next.We were recommended several times not to join the electricity show due to language barrier but it was 45min of simple physics which the kids could enjoy even without understanding Catalán.I still recommend to go and see the museum but the maintenance needs to step up to the next level.Another minus is the in-museum purchase concept to reserve a ticket / slot for the space activity. Why not including that to the overall ticket. Its just another obstacle to achieve a better experience. Some exhibitions appear uncoordinated. Architecture is great.
Didnt expect it to be as good as it was. The displays were fascinating with good level of clear description. The architecture was amazing and grounds well kept. The whole family enjoyed it.
I could spend a whole day here and it would not be enough. You must visit it while in Valencia, everyone can find something that will interested them. Amazing.
the architecture is impressive. Content eligible if youve visitedit for a half-price.
There are a lot of antique things to remember and still it was protect and reserved in our museum of science and research....
Huge cooled space with lots and lots of small exhibits, many hands on and fun for most ages. Major themes of human body and also space exploration.Popular walled off little kids play area inside also. Foucaults pendulum a highlight. Can easily spend a few hours here. Get combined ticket with aquarium for nearly same price.
The modern architecture is simply astonishing!! We bought tickets for the science museum exhibit and the hemisphere 3D shows, which sadly were quite underwhelming compared to the grandeur of the buildings itself. We were literally bored by the exhibits. Its nothing compared to what you would find, say for instance in the California Academy of Science and Natural history. The 3D shows and the technology in the hemisphere is beginning to show its age.The resolution is horrible and the sound quality is very tinny.Nevertheless, if you look around, there are plenty of easter eggs in and around the buildings to explore. The upside in my opinion is that the best this place has to offer are the ones that are free! Can easily spend an entire afternoon here.
The experience is... so-so. Interesting to spend time here in a hot day, but some of the exhibitions and science activities were dated. Zero gravity and space simulator require extra charge but that is not the problem, but the limited capacity and that you have to go pay at the ticket office at the entrance. The building itself is impressive.
An architectural masterpiece! A great place for sight seeing when visiting Valencia! Beautiful artefacts! Excellent hang out spots.
Beautiful place, however the dinner organised at the museum was quite expensive 110 euros and not worth it. The food was not properly seasoned and the meat was overcooked.
Absolutely amazing, not to be missed! I got my ticket at the venue for Euro 6, which was much better than the booking site which said Euro 36. The exhibitions were on Mars exploration and the science of sound/music.
What a great place to visit if you are in Valencia. So much to do and see.
A must visit place in Valentia. Whatta marvel this is. A great mix of creativity and science. You need a lot of time here.
The best science museum I have ever been to! Split over three floors with lots of different exhibitions we spent over three hours there. 70% of exhibits are interactive which was fantastic. Great fun for families or friends travelling. Tickets price roughly €6 for a weekday in May. Incredible value for money.
An absolute waste of time, if youre looking for science museum experience. As someone mentioned in other review, the second floor is a printed wikipedia - thats a shame, cause I imagine the topic is interesting.Third floor exhibition reqiures touching everything. Not hygienic, especially after last pandemic. They could do better. Cleaning liquids are a joke at this point.
If you’ve been in a really good scientific museum, just don’t waste time on this one. Totally miss for me.Someone printed wikipedia pages and called it a museum. You still can enter the building to enjoy architecture and spend time there on the first floor. But don’t buy tickets
This science museum should be visited if youre in Valencia. Take the morning for the Oceanique (the aquariumwhich is only less than 10 minutes walk to the science museum. Then spend the afternoon here. We had lunch in the shopping centre across from it to keep us going for the rest of the day. There is a lot to read and see. Unfortunately we went during Easter and there were a lot of families so we didnt get a chance to try out everything.
We were here with our girls (11 and 9 years oldand definitely it was a great experience. This museum is an interactive one. The kids enjoyed studying and playing with all the exhibits. We spent more than 5 hours because it was a little crowded and we wanted to enjoy of all interactive activities.
Amazing building but we were a bit disappointed what it has to offer inside. The exhibition is more for kids than adults. I would definitely recommend not to come on public holidays as it was overcrowded and full of kids so you had to wait in line to try the experiments.
This time I only visited the Hemispheric to watch a film about natural Parks in the USA, but I was in the museum some time ago, and it is a fantastic experience, even if you bring kids with you. Dont miss the Foucault Pendulum, please!Amazing place from the architectonical point of view, and place where many films were shot (do you remember Tomorrowland?)The visit will take you 3-4 hours easily. There are some nice little boats in the small lake in front of the main building, so you can spend some time there too!
The museum is very interesting but as we were 2 adults and the place was packed with kids, we got to the conclusion that it is more profitable with kids… the concept of the place is to touch, so it’s the opposite of this museums where you can’t touch anything…It’s full with stuff for kids to interact with. We didn’t take so much advantage of that because most of the stuff was already occupied with the kids. Which we totally understand. We didn’t take as long as the average people, as I’ve seen on internet… for us it took around 2 hours/2,5 hours inside to see everything we were interested. Outside is a beautiful walk, especially if it’s not raining and good weather. If you have kids, I definitely recommend going. Ps.: it took us a while on the line, the website was not working to sell the tickets… I’d recommend counting on some half an hour on the line if you don’t have tickets and is gonna buy there, and it’s a busy day.
Great modern architecture and interesting, unique design buildings. The museum has a great interest. The musical room has a fantastic collection of musical instruments. The science room is a great place to bring young people, children and family.
Given the size and exterior beauty of the building, I wouldve expected to find more inside (quantity and quality). The quality of most exhibitions were more for children/ school trips. Some replicas werent really replicas (ex. planet explorers).
When "Fallas" bank holidays you are able to visit all "ninots" frome ach fallas and vote for the best one according to your criteria. It becomes crowded depending on the hours, so I recommend to be there early so you can watch every "ninot" calmly
Beautiful place full of life and knowledge. The exterior area is beautiful work from Calatrava the area around is full of entertainment and food trucks.Didnt visit inside but its a science museum and should be amazing.
Impressive from the outside but kind of diasapointing inside. The building is beautiful, really amazing, but as the other nearby places of the complex, I think its mostly for kids and Im not sure if its worth it to pay for the entrance tickets. The exhibitions were just average, nothing really interesting to see.
This place is so incredibly beautiful on the outside, that I had extremely high hopes for what awaited me inside. It was, needless to say, it was disappointing. We blindly walked from exhibit to exhibit, wondering how a few rooms of knick knacks warranted such a stunning home.
I really wanted to like this Museum.....but I didnt. The museum is ENTIRELY interactive, and feels disjointed. The building is very impressive, and the Museum is huge- filling 4 floors. Im not sure what age group this museum is designed for. It certainly feels like a childrens museum. Many of the children there, looked lost too. There are some interesting exhibits such as "Mars, The Conquest ", but after we left, I noticed in the brochure that this exhibit is supposed to cost an additional 2.50 Euros. There was an employee there, but we werent asked for additional money. Overall, this was a huge disappointment. Most of the exhibits were boring, quite honestly. If you are only in Valencia one day, I highly recommend the Aquarium- it was outstanding.
This place was a pleasant surprise. Rented a bike in Valencia and went biking to this place with a route which goes grim inside the Turia park, so trail was very nice. When reached to this place was exceptionally beautiful, refreshing view which makes you feel you are not in Valencia anymore but somewhere else. Theres one lady who sells so authentic Horchata/Orxata which is must try local drink from venecia! I went here another day just to drink Horchata again! :D
Very interesting museum of science, large collection in different areas of science, including music, medicine, nature. On the 3 floor interesting exposition of Mars and cosmos ! Large cafeteria, shop and playground area for kids specially make this place to be hidden gem of Valencia! Must visit place, my recommendations for everyone!
Never miss the opportunity to visit this museum when in Valencia. I’ve gone twice and each time was time well spent. I don’t know how often they change their exhibits but each one is as interactive as the next. It’s definitely for people of all ages, although yes, the kids are meant to have a blast. The stand-alone ticket is 8€ for general audience. I believe there are some discounted rates on their website. I’d recommend clearing a good 2 hours for the visit.
Its a very interactive museum, I really liked it. There are a lot of interactive activities. It is a great way to get views of the surrounding area within the museum and whilst the content of the museum is very good. I spent 6 hours inside but normally 3 hours is enough. Something particularly interesting is the DNA sequence that sits on the third floor and catches the light so beautiful on a sunny day.Pro tip: on Wednesdays, there is 50 percent discount for combined tickets to the Hemispheric and the Museum of Science
