Quaint maritime museum in cozy quarters showcasing model ships & vintage instruments.
Great place! If you are in old San Juan and enjoy history this place is a must! Totally recommend.
Very interesting cool little museum.
Interesting Museum! I had fun with my family.
An amazing experience! The staff has an incredible knowledge about maritime history and are super friendly and welcoming. A place all history buffs should visit.
An absolutely beautiful experience. A lot of history to learn.
Excellent experience, a must see, the onlt Naval Museum in Puerto Rico, highly recommended!
Awesome! I had a beautiful time with my daughter. Thank you.
Excellent collection and educational experience for everyone even slightly interested in maritime history and Puerto Ricos history. Comfortable space and attentive hosts. Will visit with the whole family and friends.
Still closed
Website lists Sundays as open. Its very much closed.
The museum is closed for the foreseeable future!*#@.Dissapointed since they are still listed as operating and open. Looks like it would be interesting.
Meaningful and full of history, this place makes me very emotional and will forever have a place in my heart. Its a profound and sinister experience and I promise its excitingly remarkable <3
Great little place with a lot of history.
Nice smaller museum with a VERY knowledgeable and friendly host
Four stars because it will close and we do not know when they will open again. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and because we are an island it needs to be bigger we are surrounded by the sea so there is more that we can tell about it.
Very interesting museum. It’s only $5, the physical space isn’t very big but you could easily spend an hour or two in there if you’re interested.
This place was SO cool! The guide was excited and knowledgeable about every piece and gladly explained the history and functions of each piece when I asked him. It was a very cool place to visit and if you like history and/or science I would recommend stopping here.
Free to enter, cool artifacts and awesome AC. So glad we found it and made time to check out the museum.
Do not miss if you are an ocean lover!
Great if you love boats and ships.
Great museum.
Loved it
Neat little museum with interesting pieces. They pack a lot of history into a small space here. Worth a quick stop if you like maritime history and model ships.
We stopped by for a break from walking and are glad we did. Its a really interesting little museum. Its air conditioned and has decent bathrooms. I recommend checking it out. See if you can find the sword made out of a swordfish!
Great and fun place.
Excelente lugar! Con cosas muy interesantes.
Its just about Old San Juan history
The Museo de Mar is a lovely, little hole-in-the-wall museum with cold air conditioning, which is a good thing in San Juan on a hot, July day. As far as its artifacts, it was a bit eclectic. It had about a dozen very nice model ships, a nice model of the Siege of Puerto Rico, a little section about the Titanic, and a handful of other nice items. Quite small, just a hallway, really, you can see the whole thing easily in about twenty to thirty minutes. For only five dollars, though, it’s a fair value. During my visit, I was the only one there.
Excellent, excellent.😊
This people know their history. Polite and very professional. It is small but is wroth your time. Beautiful historical marine items. They answer all our questions.
Full of history in navigation and more. Artefacts from the Titanic and Spanish gallions. A gem in old San Juan!
Came in not expecting much but it was a delightful experience. Learned a thing or two and the tour guide was very kind and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who is in the area to give this place a short look.
Nice way to spend an hour in SJ
Nice collection of sailing history. Worth the $5 admission.
This museum is super underappreciated. The staff are incredibly well-informed and it is a view into a spectacular private collection of marine equipment and memorabilia. Take the time to stop in!
Nice little museam
