Museo del Mar in Maldonado

Museo con muchas especies de animales marinos, pero mezcla con artículos de época, lo cual lo desordena.El insectario está muy bueno.El precio de la entrada es elevado para lo que ofrecen, actualmente $220 uruguayos, prácticamente 5 dólares.

Un lugar INCREÍBLE..SI O SI tienen que visitarlo es inimaginable Todo lo que hay en este museo. FELICITO a quienes hacen esto posible ya que es un lugar Maravilloso... no te dan los ojos para admirar cada cosa q hay.

Fuimos hoy a pasear en familia y la verdad que no nos arrepentimos! Fue muy entretenido! Entre el museo del Mar y el insectario pasamos una hora y media! Subo sólo algunas fotos para que se tienten!

Te cobran entrada pero realmente vale la pena porque el museo tiene de todo, estuvimos casi dos horas recorriendo el lugar. Muestran cosas del mar (lo que encontramos en nuestras costaspero también de otros mares. Tambien tiene un sector con Objetos antiguos y un sector de "piratas". Me encantó.

Fuí cuando era niña y volví a ir con mis hijas a los 34. Siempre es un hermoso lugar para visitar. La entrada es con pago solamente en efectivo. Nosotros por ejemplo éramos dos Mayores y dos menores (2 y 8 añosy pagamos $850. Un lindo paseo para el 1de Mayo.

Un lugar hermoso y con mucha variedad en la exposición de escenarios y animales. Ideal para un paseo de 2 a 3 horas. El insectario es muy interesante también. No tiene tanta información escrita como el museo pero es sorprendente la cantidad de "bichos" que hay.

Nos encantó la experiencia, es un buen lugar donde hay muchas cosas antiguas, y y gran variedad de reliquias de mar, con la misma entrada pudimos entrar al insectario, algo que aclarar todos pagan entrada su costo al día de hoy es de $200 por cada persona los menores también pagan... lo recomendamos

Quedé fascinada con este lugar, cuando uno entra queda maravillado por todas las cosas que hay, hermoso, cuidado, mágico. Lo ame realmente. Para ir mil veces, con sus antigüedades, su historia y los animales embalsamados . Mil aplausos . Digno de visitar . También podés ir al insectario

Exelente museo para visitar en familia. Esta dividido en 4 museos, 3 dentro del mismo salón (museo de los balnearios, Museo del Mar y Museo de los recuerdosy el restante enfrente el museo de los insectos!.La entrada del incluye el acceso a los 4 museos.Además de ser un museo impresionantemente completo la cantidad de elementos es increíble. Mucha historia, muchos recuerdos y mucha nostalgia de otras épocas.Super recomendable para conocerlo.

Lindo, perfeito, organizado. Possui um acervo enorme e no fim são 4 museus por uma entrada!Recomendo a todos que passarem por Punta del Este.

Leuk museum om te bekijken wat er allemaal in de zee te zien is en wat er in de wateren rond Uruguay leeft.Een aantal zaken zijn in het Engels maar helaas nog niet alles.Entreeprijs is wel erg vriendelijk wat het museum erg toegankelijk maakt. Ook leuk dat je na dit bezoek aan de overkant van de web ook nog even gratis naar het insecten museum kunt gaan

Es un Lugar muy interesante, no hay guias pero te ayudas con las leyendas de cada cosita que vas viendo, hay que ir con tiempo porque es algo grande, si quieres ver todo detalladamente, el insectario si es pequeño súper increíble la cantidad de insectos disecados que tienen.

Our expectations were high for this place. When we got there, though, we learned that what they do there was far beyond what we even thought was possible. The collection of sea relics they have there is astonishing. There is also an insectary, which is impressive. Other than that, the staff is very kind and the dogs that warmly welcomed us upon our arrival made the experience even more especial. I strong recommend paying the museum a visit.

Hidden among the silver fir trees of the Maldonado bar is this unexpectedly well-stocked museum, in which you will find a wide variety of items on display, from marine fauna and flora, history of the Uruguayan coast beaches, ancient objects and even a insectary. It has space for children and access to bathrooms in acceptable conditions. The ticket price includes access to all facilities.

Best museum of natural history about the sea. Totally natural and very well spaced out in different buildings. And a lot of fun included

Kind of small

Crammed full of stuff to see. An impressive collection of whale skeletons. Cant pay on card though so make sure you have cash or youre stuck. Nearest cash point in half an hour walk away.

Fun, quirky museum next to La Barra. A mix of everything: from Uruguays sealife, punta del estes origin and even pirate stories. Definetly worth checking out with or without kids and a good choice for a rainy day.

Museo del Mar is ideal for anyone interested in sea, ocean, and coastal history, geography, archeology, geology, paleontology, marine biology, regional flora and fauna no matter the age of the one attending. Its specialized in the history of the Río de la Plata -River Plate- and the whole coast of Uruguay, but it has objects from all around the globe. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a five star rate is the humidity inside the museum and the strong smells, also there is no natural lighting and an excess of signs with information that makes it visually tiring. But in the whole its a museum woth visiting, youll certainly see and learn some interesting facts youve probably never imagined!

The Museum of the Sea, opened in 1996, is a museum of natural history located in La Barra, in the department of Maldonado, Uruguay. It occupies about 2,300 m² and is divided into four large halls, which are open to the public all year round. It is a must go place when you are in Punta del Este because they have so many specimen of fishes insects birds , antiques and so on .
