Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte de la Universidad de Puerto Rico in Cayey
Description
MoreVery small but wonderful exhibits. Free to tour, so if you are in the area, definitely stop by. Exhibits are explained in Spanish only.
Gracias!!
MoreThe worst museum of anthropology ever being, its a shame that is called that way, and the government doesnt promote their own ancient history, the museum consist in 2 rooms one used for expositions the big one, the small room share one taino mummy with a Egyptian one, they are never open even if the site says it will, make sure if you want to visit to call and check if they will be open, because they keep the gate closed even if its open, I feel sad, that burocracy keep this places surviving, with a country with so much to offer
MoreGreat place to learn more about our past generations.
Gran variedad de talleres educativo y culturale
2 rooms, one of art history, Taino tools and the other with an actual mummy and explanation of mummification process. No parking and on University of PR campus. Nice to stop by for 20mins if you having nothing to do.

MoreSmall but it under renovation
Horrible! The museum is just what you see in these two photos. An office in front of some boxes with Taino bones randomly placed. The lady with her back to the camera was extra rude. No apologies, she insisted they are open, even when all the halls are closed for one reason or another. She gave her back to me when I asked her name, as she was very disrespectful. I had guests that I had invited, and was super embarrassed by her attitude. The assistant tried to be helpful, but was obviously untrained, and the administration had not planned anything to offer, nor did they take the time to specify in social networks that the place is closed either. Somebody told me that they have to say its open even if its not, in order to be paid their salary. Shame!

Small, but a lot of detail about the artists they exhibit.
Enjoyed it and I didnt even get to visit the whole museum, just a little part.
Esta en remodelación
Muy util
Quaint, personal Gallery/MUSEUM. You can nicely interact with what s presented. Quality exhibitions. They have special "talks" available depending on the day of the week.Narratives are printed in Spanish only, and reflect art, cultural & historical insights and research. I wish translations were available in English. The University surely could engage its Translation Department to do it. It would not only benefit the readers, but the student in the translation dept. This last exhibit...ALICEA..was superb. Thank you.
MoreMuy buen museo
Its an university museum, so it offers thoughtful exhibitions of objects of human expression (art, indigenous artifacts, folk art, letters, drafts, etc.in various topics. It is highly recommended to call first to find out which exhibition is currently on display. Also, if youre venturous enough, take the urban train rather than a taxi (its kinda pricey). The Museum has its own stop (Universidadand theres the UPR Campus to see as well, with eating and resting areas.
MoreBeautiful design
Excelente iniciativa. Arte contemporáneo y buenas exposiciones.
Lots of interesting things and history.
Nice museum to do research and appreciate art. Its home to one of the most famous Puerto Rican artworks: El Velorio. Overall, a very nice place. Downside? The restrooms and some parts of the building are not in good conditions.
MoreMust see: El Velorio by Francisco Oller. A master piece by Puerto Rican impressionist painter
MoreMuy interesante.
