A beautiful place to see sunset from. The building has a museum and a souvenir shop with many nice things to buy. Theres a cafe too.At sunset, at the terrace they play music with the voice of Vilaro reading a poem to the sun. A must-visit place!
Horrible
One of the most amazing sunset!
Bellisimo
Terrific view
Loved it. Amazing place, with picturesque view. Please go there and see the sunset on the Atlantic Sea
Very commercial, not interesting
A biutifull place with biutifull views. There is a Bar to.Enjoy the paintings of "Carlos Páez Villaro....
Amazing place!
It is the home and studio of Carlos Vilaro and is a sprawling house on a cliff outside of Punta del Este. Very interesting history and architecture. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the restaurant overlooking the water and the service and food was excellent. There are also several gift shops that have lots of pretty pottery and books.
Great work. Amazing view!
H E R M O S O
interesting place for thos who love architecture, art, painting or even a nice scenery of the sea fro a blacony.i would suggest visit during working day (to avoid being too packedand have a lunch and stay until sunset. the best view ever!
Its ok, but the restaurant is really amazing - the view and the food! If you can just go directly to restaurant
Entry fee is 300 pesos and the place is only for the painting lovers. There is a good photo spot inside the museum. Good to visit during the sunset
Unique place, difficult to describe. Special for artists
Very interesting place to see.
An excellent place to visit. Its aggregate a lot of knowledge about architecture and healthiness life.
You have 3 options: a visit to the museum where you can also listen to Villaro’s poem at sunset, or a meal at the restaurant where you can spend the total amount you paid to get in at no extra cost, but in this case you will not be able to hear the poem, and a third option when you pay U$20 dollars to get in and you can spend that amount on any wine you choose among the ones provided. If this is your first time there, I definitely recommend the visit to the museum. As for the wine bar, you get too much noise from the people around you and you can’t hear the poem properly because it comes from somewhere far away and it is not possible to make out what is being said.
Lindo! Riquíssimo! Extremely beautiful and very interesting! The museum has art and history. And the views... The views of the sea are breathtaking! It looks like some Greek Mediterranean place! I wanted to stay there forever living in such a beautiful place and waking up to that sea breeze every morning! I recommend this visit to everyone who passes by Montevideo, its not very far of youre driving. I loved it!
If you come to punta del este and want to see casapuebla (but aren’t staying at the hotelthis is one of the ways to do so (and is probably worth the entry feeHowever, if you’re staying at the hotel (as I was). you need to pay $9 US to get into what is essentially a gift shop. Don’t recommend the museum unless it’s your only way to see the building...
A must see museum featuring a uniquely Uruguyan artist. Whether or not you can understand Spanish you leave here with a profound appreciation for the art of Carlos Valerio. No, this isnt as well endowed as a US museum, no everything isnt exactly air conditioned to the nth degree of temperature and humidity, and no not everything is in English. But if you go to this museum with a curious mind and not expecting the East side of Manhattan then you will be greatly rewarded. I did not notice any foul smells. The museum cafe has stunning views, delicious food at a very reasonable price. Also the gift shop is a much better place to get authentic souvenirs than any of the tchochke shops elsewhere.
Great museum and beautiful house. A must to visit if you are in Punta del Este. The museum is quite small yet totally worth it.
Definitely a very unique place although lacking decent infrastructure. There is no AC in the cinema room, the exposition rooms stink due to broken pipes (?and the toilets have lengthy lines. He was a great artist, so if you enjoy modern arts youll be fond of the place.
Great place with awesome panoramic view of the coast. The place offers a great variety of pieces from creator‘s artwork.Entrance can be paid in US dollars, brazilian reais or uruguayan pesos (cash or credit card).
A bit expensive. It is possible to catch a Uber back to Punta del Este, but you may have car availability issues
Very nice museum.....
Nice park for relax and flie market on week ends
It is a wonderful museum to check out when in the area. The view, the history and the staff all make it an amazing experience.
Its interesting museum and nice view.
Pretty different, fun, cool.
Very nice place to enjoy the sunset.
Iconic spot, so its a must see in the area. The museum part is small but gives a good overview of the artist. Watch the documentary. There are chairs in the theatre, but people tend to crowd by the doorway. So peek in to see how full it really is.
Really interesting building with an amazing location to see the sunset. I think the museum could be improved with some more paintings but the whole thing is absolutely stunning and worth seeing.
Beach near this place is very good
A location filled with incredible energy. The art is amazing and to step inside the museum /workshop of one of the countries most well know creative people is very humbling.
Must go place! Its a little messy but its worth the visit.
Carlos was an amazing person and his museum and history are astonishing. The surroundings are beautiful too. The prices in the museum are very high.
Amazing experience, and dont forget to go to Punta Ballena, a great view from the sea. I do not recommend to buy things there due to the high prices
The casa is gigantic but you only get to visit a couple of rooms, and there isnt much content besides the paintings on display. Also, everything is in Spanish only.
Great view, but the museu is a little badly organised.
Very good place to visit.
Really beautiful place but i missed having informations of the place and sculptures in English instead of only in spanish
Great place, food is great and the best part is the sunset.
I had one of the most beautiful sunset experience of my life. Poetry reading, horneros singing and the celebration of the sun in a gorgeous white castle, constracted by the love and work of one amazing human being Carlos Páez Vilaró...you can hardly beat that:)
Great view and amazing architecture, but there could be more services available for visitors...
Very beautifull sightseeing on sea.. but thats all!Museum is more a shop to sell everythings about the artiste, some paint and culture are exposed but its very poor in term of culture & art.You can pay entrance in UYU, ARS, EUR, BRL, USD.. then the first thing you visit when entering in the museum is.. the bar/restaurante!
