Beautiful exhibit illustrating the foundations of what we know today as Frida. Thoughtful detail was put into the displays including her medical equipment, dresses, painting materials and analysis into how her experiences shaped her work. You will be asked to pay an extra $30 pesos to take photos (video not allowed), which honestly could be included in the ticket price because it’s definitely worth it and ~ $1.50 USD. They stagger letting people in by ticket times (q15minwhich allowed us to freely explore and not feel crowded. Helpful arrows on the floor to provide you with directions to see everything. We spent a little over an hour there but easily could have lingered in the courtyard/garden longer if we had time. We also discovered when we got there that our tickets were for the wrong day but the staff graciously allowed us to come for the allotted ticket time. This was huge as they were fully sold out for the rest of the week. Hitting mid afternoon meant we were there during golden hour and I recommend timing it this way if possible! The garden was glowing and you will certainly find inspiration here.

Very nice experience!Loved being where Diego and Frida lived and painted. Way less crowded than Casa Azul and a good complement.Only Diego’s part was open though, would love to go back one day to see Frida’s.

Things to know:You have to wait about 30 mins outdoors to enter. This is a little inconvenient, but it ensures that not too many people are there at a time.Unfortunately NOT a good place if you are in a wheelchair. Its all stairs.Be aware that if you dont know Spanish, the visit may be a little less engaging for you, as all the signs were in Spanish (except the Do Not Touch signs). You can take photos for freeThere is an onsite ticket office. Dont buy tickets in advance; you will still wait in line with everyone else. Admission is 40 pesosSo cool to be able to see Frida and Diegos studios. Its a super unique layout with lots of natural lighting

A compound with the connected houses of Diego and Frida, built by the great Juan OGorman. Included in the price is the house built by OGorman for his father. Modernist and functional architecture. Also, a wonderful collection of folk art and pre-Columbian objects in Riveras studio.

This was a dream come through. Always wanted to see Casa Azul and Panzons Museum since I saw the Frida movie. Beautiful place. Love the simplicity in which they lived, had a great and unique gift for painting.

I found it.... Not very interesting because there was no artwork and it was quite simple and plain which may appeal to some people but I wouldnt visit again. Some things were interpreted in English and some things werent so do your homework.Glad I did it though

Visited because the Casa Azul tickets were sold out. So happy I got to see this intimate space - Diego and Fridas studios, where they completed fabulous works. Be sure to stop here on your visit as well!

I went there last week but except for the architecture and one room with furniture and a few paintings there isn’t much to see inside the house, which makes me wonder why this place gets such amazing reviews. Did I miss something??? In my opinion it was certainly less interesting than what I expected because there’s just not much to see in the house itself, most rooms are empty or almost empty.

This house was designed by the architect Juan OGorman, it was the study of the famous artist Diego Rivera, it is located at San Ángel Inn and was his study & living quarters until November 1957 when he passed away.Adjacent to it, there is a second house where his wife lived, Frida Kahlo. Both houses are connected by a bridge on the third floor.Today it is a small museum having some of their art, however, the best works are at museums around the world. There was a line of people waiting to be admitted to the museum all covered with masks.

Admission required: CASH only. This is the place where Frida and Diego had lived. This is also definitely what my dream home would look like: two free souls working and living together but also independently. The views from the patios are particularly good! And the place is not crowded either. Definitely recommended.I wish I could go back to this place again. But I’d better keep this as a once in a lifetime piece of memory.

Very interesting building. It has spiral steps between floors. Also it has original furniture and a lot of pieces of art made by Diego Rivera. And it has some pieces from his pre-hispanic collection of statures. It also has pictures of Frida Kahlo.Everything there is original and very well kept.

Too rigid security gards were following us so they could complain about everything and anything. From some line you overstep to lines you did not follow or masks etc. Spoiling pleasure...And yes it us worth visiting the museum. Another image of Diego brought into life here in his workspace

Awesome first example of functionality architecture. Also very interesting story of this family and architect. I have a lot of pleasure to be there in sunset, soft light, quiet place.Diego’s part of house look like nothing has change from time when he lives there, but Fridas part of house somehow almost empty. Cost 30 pesos but in Sunday’s it’s for free

This museum is the former home and art studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo built in 1932. Both buildings are connected by a tiny bridge at roof level. Diegos is larger than Fridas, at the distance it resembles their physical look, like the couple standing together. It has minimalistic decoration and furniture except for the main area of Diegos studio that has tons of mexican art crafts, pottery and art tools. Back of the main buildings theres another one built for the wife of the architect that created this wonderful venue, Juan OGorman. For taking pictures a MX $35 Permit needs to be bought. It is not a crowded place so it can be enjoyed calmly, the cactus fence gives the facade a unique look. The architecture is delightful. There is not original art of either of both artists except for a Dolores del Rio, famous film mexican actress, oil painting made by Diego. There is no parking lot, souvenir store or coffee shop. Entrance is free on Sundays.

If you saw the movie “Frida” this is a must stop on your visit to Mexico City because actual scenes were filmed here and it will give you a better understanding of how Frida and Diego lived. But that’s not the only reason to visit this museum. It’s architecture and surroundings will immerse you in the life of the very famous Diego Rivera. The architecture of the place speaks for itself. It evokes the modernists of the time incorporating the artist’s request of a house formed of two bodies. The scale of the spaces and stairs are off considering the size of Diego being his workspace the only one that seems coherent to his stature. The fully openable windows In The context of San Angel (Neighbourhood where it’s locatedallows you to imagine life at the time Diego and Frida inhabited it.Check for temporary visits before going! Some areas of the house might be closed if there is no exhibit.

The architecture is very interesting but the poor state of the gardens and cactus fence are a shame. The local Mexican tourists are lovely and mindful of others in the overcrowded interiors but some of the foreign tourists need a good slap for their arrogant and selfish behaviour ... especially some of the gringos.

The buildings and studio are nice but be prepared for the army of security guards standing over you in every room. Often they were in the way of photos. Only takes about 20 minutes to go through and was 35 pesos to get in plus 30 for a photo pass.

I enjoyed looking at all the exhibits available for Diego. Very interesting. His bedroom was very simply decorated. The studios of both Frida and Diego were very large and separated. The Frida exhibit was unavailable, but guests were still able to access the structure where some photography was viewable. They offer a brochure which has copies of archived photography of the property. You must pay extra (30 pesosfor capturing photographs. Its worth the small price, especially Diegos work.4 stars since the entire exhibit wasnt available. But, they do earn you before you pay the admission.

Really neat to see his studio! And to see Kahlos study as well. Really neat architecture. Staff was really friendly and patient with my lack of fluency. The only thing is that for whats there they charge more than a lot of the other museums I was at. Thats not to say that theres any purting a price on the preservation and sharing of these wonderful buildings. Hence no stars taken off.

Beautiful home and gardens. Displays of art, photos, and clothing were well done. Lighting was dim so some of the information plaques were hard to read. Very crowded too. We bought tickets online and had to wait about 30 minutes to enter. The line for buying at the museum seemed to be moving at the same pace as ours. We went in at 12:30 but when we left about an hour later, the lines were short so maybe later is less crowded?

This is a clear 5-star for me, but I knew what to expect. First, go here if you are a fan of the story behind Diego and Frida. Youll understand why the house is the way it is - and youll know more about what happened in each of these spaces. Youll understand the history of the architecture and youll get to take in the neighborhood that inspired them both. This is not a place to go to see their art - theres not much art to see although Diegos studio is well-preserved and there are some interesting works in there. I loved it here - and I love the history and design of this space. Of course, be sure to visit La Casa Azul - which is about 2 miles away (I walked it - but you can easily Uber it- there youll see a lot more of Frida and more of their relationship and art, too.

This museum is OK. Fridas blue house is not very interesting, but Diegos studio seems to be very close to the way it was when he worked there. I have book with photographs of it and they seem to match. The stairs are narrow and steep. I can see why Frida didnt live there for long, it must have been really difficult for her to get into her side of the house. There is a really beautiful (big and fancyrestaurant diagonal to the museum called San Angel Inn. We did not eat there, but some visitors to the museum might like it. Good for a photograph if not a meal, anyway.

The last stop on our Frida/Diego day... The separate homes and studios of Diego and Frida in San Ángel. You may remember from the movie, these were the houses joined by a small bridge connecting them at the top. Unfortunately, Fridas side was cleared for another exhibit, but Diegos studio and home was rich with his painting supplies and works finished and unfinished. We even spotted a photo of an item that we had previously seen in Diegos museum 20 minutes prior.

The house has a very strong vibe. Inhabiting this place kind of takes u back to the time the artists lived there. You will be able to see some of their belongings which I think is cool. Some paintings are just copies..still worth it to walk around. The house design is pretty ubique considering the time it was built, however it has been in remodel for a long time now..
