Great place to enjoy a birds eye view of Lucerne. Keep in mind there are lots of stair to climb so avoid going with elders.

No tickets necessary. Lots of history here. Awesome views.

Felt that the walls and the towers were a bit overrated, as theres nothing much you can do here aside from walking along the walls and climbing the different towers. If you must choose one, the clock tower (Zytturmis the one that is worth climbing the most, as you can see the inner workings of the clock. The view from the walls and tower is not bad, but aside from that this feels just like a hiking exercise.Entrance is free though and you can walk along the walls from the hill to the river and vice versa, though would have appreciated more if they included explanations in English of the significance of the place.

Gorgeous viewpoint of the wall and towers! Very easy to get into the defense towers and walk up top on the wall! Give you a great view of the city of Lucerne

It was nice to to see the foliage. We visited during the fall. Lucerne looked very pretty from atop the city walls. But there isnt anything else to do.

The rampart is a bit far from city center, but it is worth the visit. Cuz it is one of the best location to overlook the whole city. And the entrance is free of charge. Strongly recommend!

Once a symbol of power, the Musegg Wall and its nine towers are part of Lucernes historic fortifications; forming a striking crown around the Old Town, the wall can be discerned from afar. You have to climb on stairs to the top of the towers, but the view from there is worth of climbing.

i had a calm morning time here. good for a walk, a relaxing green place in the middle of the city.

Beautiful views of Lucerne and the mountains beyond. Four of the 9 towers are accessible. Nice nature preserve with animals. No charges.

It’s a great place to visit which overlooks Lucerne and surroundings. However, there are a lot of stairs. You need to be very fit to make it to the top :D

Great site to visit. Easy 10mins hike up to this place from the Chapel bridge. It’s just a wall and watch tower but a lot of history. Recommend visit this spot when you visit Lucerne.

Whew! Lots of stairs. We went up the main clock tower. Inside we saw the inner workings of the clock. We were looking right at the bell when it started ringing. Yikes! It scared the heck out of us. It was so loud. The views from the tower and the wall are lovely.

Nice view of Luzerne from here. Historically interesting. Nice displays of clock works in the towers.

Very nice free (they accept donationswalk atop the old city wall, with some towers available for exploring. Nice views too. Closed in winter though.

Lovely walk along the tower walls. If they are open, it’s worth a trek up the narrow stairs to enjoy the views. One of the towers has a Turret Clock exhibition which is really interesting.

Steep hike but worth walking around the town.

This is the old wall they restored and show you how was before in history. From top of one off the towers or wall you have a great view over the city..

Brilliant panoramic view! You can see the city, the lake and the mountains overseeing everything with their white tops covered in snow creating a beautiful contrast especially during spring or summer. Worth driving there and especially rewarding as its free. Very few things are in Switzerland, which is a country one has to visit many times to really appreciate it properly.

One of the beautiful view of the city , there is nothing much to do but again , great views and very calm and relaxing place.

If you are in the city I recommend coming here and climbing up at least one tower to see the view of the city from above. On a bright day it is really spectacular. I usually like climbing the tower farthest away from the lake, since it has an open balcony at the top.

Beautiful view on Luzerne from the top of the tower and in my opinion the 2nd tower has the best view of the 3 we can go on top.

Beautiful landmark. Nice easy walk once you get up the steps. Great views. The towers are closed now because of Covid and so we were very disappointed. The views from the towers were the reason we went.

Open only during Summer (Apr-Sep8-19, free of charge, free restrooms, infoboards. Imposing city wall with many historic towers and walk-in clock tower. The weir system can be partially walked on and offers a magnificent view of the city in many places. Really very medieval.

During winter time you can’t climb the stairs up to the towers.

There is quite a steep walk from the town centre, but when you get there the views are great. There are steps up to the top and this is the most direct way to the top, but there is a way by road for those not able to take the many steps. This way but it is longer and still steep.

Very nice walk on the city walls, not so crowded as many other attractions here in Luzern. The towers offer a great view of the city. Absolutely recommended!!!

Great place...nice view, free entry, one of the greatest sightseeings in Luzern.

Had it been a sunny day, the views wouldve been a lot more impressive. Despite that, did manage to get a good view of the town and most of the mountains. Was the highlight of the Lucerne trip and worth the trek up.

Underrated! Offers beautiful views of Lucerne away from the crowds. I’m not sure why this isn’t way busier as it was one of my favorite parts of the city!

Highly recommended. The walk up to the wall is quite easy and the views from the wall are fantastic. Views over the city, the lake, the mountains. One can also enter and climb multiple of the towers for even better views.

A must do. Lots of steep steps, but well worth the views. Beautiful display of historic clocks from clock towers.

Beautiful old towers that you can visit from may til september. But just walking near the wall is also nice.

We were so happy that we went up there. You can have the full view of the beautiful city Lucerne from top of any old towers there.

Worth visiting. I wish there was more signage and information on site which explained the history and significance of the site. Still worth visiting but additional information would make it that much better.
