The museum just started in 2016, and is fairly small. You can reaf thru the history of wine importation from bordeaux and there is a wine tasting at the end of your visit. It is self-paced and quite ok experience.

The museum itself was quite interesting however the tour took less than half an hour, the degustation wasnt as expected either. There was a lot of talk about different wines coming from different regions, and we only had two out of eight to try out, glasses were not flushed with water in between, and there were bugs running on the table so I wouldnt recommend it. Also the place is not adapted for disabled on wheelchair (bear that in mind)

The museum itself is a bit disappointing, because it is rather small, and nothing that special. The wine tasting session is quite good, and included in the ticket

The Musée du Vin was charming, intimate, immensely interesting and laid out in a traditional way; a complete contrast to the futuristic Cité du Vin. The visit (which incidentally was half the price of the Cité du Vinalso included a wine tasting. However this time we were given a proper talk lasting half an hour explaining the basics of the wines of Bordeaux and giving us two glasses to sample - unlike the previous day at Cité du Vin where we were offered a selection of world wide wines to choose from and sent away with our glass with the most basic description which you could read off the bottle label. There is of course a difference in that the modern museum is about the history of wine, and world wines in general - very general. And the traditional museum concentrates on Bordeaux wines and history. The Musée du Vin was by far the best experience of the two for me and if you only have time for one of these museums Musée du Vin is the one to visit.

A small but interesting museum dedicated to the history of the wine trade in Bordeaux. This set in the cellar of a 17th century merchants house. We were handed a folder of information in English to read as we went around, which worked fairly well.It didnt cost us anything to do (as it was free with the city passand included a complimentary wine tasting of two wines - a welcome surprise! The gift shop also had an interesting selection of wine and associated paraphernalia. Our visit took about an hour, including the wine tasting.

I prefer small museums, but this one is not the most informative. Included is tasting of two wines, nice but nothing special. I found it little pricy for 10€.

Small museum with an interesting show of the history of the wine business in Bordeaux between the 19th to mid-20th centuries. Degustation is a good sample of local wines. Our hostess was very knowledgeable.

One of my favourite museums in Bordeaux. There you will explore the rich history of the city, visit a traditional building of the Chartrons, learn a lot about production and wines in general, and in the end you will be tasting two different wines from the region with a guidance of a professional. Loved every second of it, totally worth it.

The staff was very helpful in helping us chose quality wine from their selection. I suggest coming here before buying a bottle, and even getting one from the museum.

The staff there is amazing. Very helpful and insightful. Helped me and my friend chose an amazing selection of wines. For people new to Bordeaux wines Id suggest coming here first before chosing a bottle to purchase, or even buy one from the museum, since it has a large variety of quality wines for every price range.

I visited the Wine Museum while on a solo trip exploring Bordeaux. It was beautiful! So fascinating to learn about all the history, dating so far back. The wine tasting at the end was presented by Éric, who did a fabulous job😊 since it was just me, he explained and presented everything so well in English. Very informative, easy to understand, added fun humour in at times and made the entire experience so enjoyable 😊 thank you so much!! Very grateful for my experience there 😊

This place was amazing! We arrived there without any expectation and as any place we we been to in Bordeaux, it really surprised us. We had our self guided tour and after, a wine tasting with our amazing sommelier girl from Japan. Forgive me I forgot her name. We thought the tour was worth it the price and very reasonable.

Beautiful small wine museum. Entrance is only 10€ and is followed by a small wine tasting of two wines. It is possible to do the tasting in english which is preceded by a broad and very helpful introduction into the Bordeaux wine regions.

Within 1 hours, we ended the tour. Equipped with a brochure, we visit the museum at our own pace. Nice to know this job type, negoce. However, some used tools placed near by, its a bit complicated to image how it works in the ancient time.

This was one of the best places I’ve visited in Bordeaux. I’ve learned so much here, many interesting facts. Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable and speaks multiple languages. And at the end you get to taste some great wine. If I had to pick between going here and Cite du Vin I would certainly pick here.

This is a pretty small homey museum where you can learn about the wine of the Bordeaux region and then at the end have a tasting with a really nice host who can explain a lot about the region. It was also very economic and a great deal. We LOVED our time here.

We had an incredible experience doing our visit. We were really lucky because our degustation was in charge of Aude. She explained us everything with details, and with a lot of patience. We had so many questions! She talked about all the wine productions and the way wines are labeled here, the characteristics of each region and the history of Bordeaux. And the wines were so good!We are so thankful Aude! Merci beaucoup. The Argentinian couple😀

Great place to learn about the "wine industry" in Bordeaux and its close link to the city. The approximately 90 minutes tour is well structured and detailed. The staff knows almost every language, is very friendly and always available for explanations. If I come back to Bordeaux I am sure I will pay a visit again.

I spent a very pleasant 90 minutes this morning learning about the history of wine in the Bordeaux region. The self guided tour was interesting and informative. It covered the rich history of wine in the region with photographs, quotations, old machinery and displays. Most of the material is in French, but a guide book in English provides an informative update. A young woman provided an informative wine tasting in English for me afterwards. Her English was very good and I appreciated her time and care in being sure I was understanding her. The wines I tasted were interesting and showed the characteristics of the wines of the Right bank.

Worthwhile museum, fascinating facts about the history of wine in the Bordeaux region. Especially the part on barrels was interesting. The wine tasting was excellent and our hostess very attentive and friendly. Good price benefit ratio, the 10€/person were more than justified.

Although a small museum, this place has some interesting historical details on the history of wine making in Bordeaux. It takes about 30 minutes to go through the museum, the audio and video sessions, ending with a taste of 3 different popular wines from Bordeaux. Friendly people. Of course if you want a more elaborate and extensive visit you better visit the big wine museum of Bordeaux

Comparatively small indeed but price reasonable. It contains lots of real displayed items. The guide book in different languages is handy. At the end of tour, the wine tasting is very well organized. The lady is really hospitable and 3 different kinds of wine explained. If it can be done with more fluency in English, then it will exceed my expectation : )
