Musée des Arts Forains in Houilles

Visited this place during a conference for an after party. The venue had a very unique atmosphere that was fantastic! The variety and quality of food was excellent, the games and entertainment were enjoyable and the service staff were kind, fun, and helpful. Overall, the evening was a very memorable experience! We were a very large group of eventually over 200 people and the venue accommodated us all nicely. I can highly recommend this place.

What a wonderful museum! The tour was one of the most memorable tours Ive ever taken. We not only saw amazing and beautiful items, We danced, we rode on three antique carousels and had an engaging and friendly guide. I would highly recommend this museum. It is a wonderful break from traditional museums and an absolute joy to visit. Merci!

If youre in central Paris the musee de forain arts is a bit out of the way but 100% worth it. Massive rooms dedicated to carnival memorabilia and history. Interactive activities. A reservation is a must and the tour is only in French (but provide English guide packet). Our guide put effort into supplementing our experience with English. We would have enjoyed either way. Definitely recommended.

If you like fairground, circus and carnival rides, as well as circus wood carvings, games, mechanical music players, this is the place for you. We were on a French tour consisting of about 20 people. There was no English translations available for the commentary. So, be aware of that. Our only complaint was that it lasted about 90 minutes and should have been no more than an hour. Kids seem to love it.

Loved the experience. What an interactive guide tour! We took several carousels and play couple games. They were all amazing! I would definitely recommend to others who has time to visit them.

This place was beautiful and very unique. As a non- French speaker though I really struggled to follow the tour. Firstly I felt like I was missing so much of the story and details because I couldnt understand anything - it felt like the pamphlet we were given just had a fraction of what was said and acted out. I feel like if the pamphlet was more detailed it would have helped me feel more immersed. Secondly we really struggled to figure out which page of the pamphlet to read because we were either not going in order or something? Half the time we were trying to base ourselves on the pictures, or just try to guess.Overall I think I would have rated this a 5 if I was able to follow the tour ( even with the pamphlet), doesnt mean I didnt enjoy or have fun anyway during my visit!A somewhat selfish suggestion is to maybe start having 1 or 2 tours a week in english so that even we can really enjoy the tour in the same way, I understand it might not b easy, but I feel it would be great for international tourists.

A must visit - amazing museum, a unique experience and even open on a Monday! Guide was excellent. Two recommendations 1. make the tour a bit longer, there is no time to look around on your own 2. English tour - I suspect its le poulet and the oeuf - 20% of our group was non French speaking - put an English tour on it will be plein.

Guide in French which I dont speak. However this did not detract from my enjoyment of my visit. Guide was very animated and , if you can understand French, very funny

I had a wonderful time here. I am almost glad it was not accepted as a state museum, because if it was, we would not have the great experience we did today.You can only visit with a tour booked through their websites. You are not only given information about the rides and games, you can also try them! The bicycle carousel was the best.I hope they offer english tours again, because we felt a bit left out because only french language tours are available at the moment.

This place is one of the most incredible I have ever visited: from the first moment and the meeting with our great guide Libère, everything is surprise, magic and poetry.The two hours of the guided tour go by really fast and you dont know where to look at such a display of beauty and exuberance. You really feel that you have set foot in a magical place, straight out of haunted movies.I really encourage all visitors to come and visit this place outside of time and outside of everyday reality!PS. At the Fairground Arts Museum in Bercy you are transported back to 19th century carnival time à la français. Play the games, ride a self-propelled carrousel and soak in the atmosphere of bygone days. We had a wonderful tour led by a guide who oozed passion for her job. What a great experience for kids of all ages!

One of the most beautiful locations and museums Ive ever seen. Amazing tour guides too!

This museum is one of the oldest museums in Paris. I had lots of fun using the merry-go-round and other activities. The staff were very polite. There are lots of trees which gives the place a more natural feel. The place is more like a blend of the old and new. Very exquisite.

Magical place for a wedding. Adults and kids alike enjoyed the games, food was good, and staff was extremely friendly.

I booked a guided visit for my birthday celebrations. The guide Max was just amazing and gave us a truly magical time. It was the best idea to come here, everyone was super happy!! We will come back :)

Amazing! The guide was awesome, very nice and friendly and spoke fluent English. He made a big effort to make everyone comfortable. Be advised, it seems to be costumery to tip the guide, I did not know this. Bring a little bit of cash.

Enjoyable to visit while in Paris with children, but also if you want to let your inner child loose without kids! Very friendly and interactive guides that radiate much of the passion that went into creating this exhibit.

An unusual and awe inspiring place. Outdoor and indoor. My kids loved the old time games especially the garçons de cafe course. We were there for their winter merveilleux festival and it was a beautiful experience. They also did a great job with masking and covid safety.

This place is amazing! I was expecting kind of a museum with interesting facts and items from Fairground but not at all!The museum is filled with games, shows and interactivity. We spent so much time with my friends trying all activities. Those activities are really affordable, fun, and even when it seems like to have a long queue, it goes pretty fast!Finally, the space is beautiful and it is incredible to find it in the middle of Paris. Shout out to all staff members who do an amazing job at entertaining visitors! I loved it!May be try to go there during morning to have a less crowded place!

An interesting museum with done of the most well preserved snd operating fairground rides, signs snd automated figures. Unfortunately the tour was in French but they handed our a English chest sheet snd do you were able to get done of the info. It is right next to Bercy Village so it’s easy to grab lunch and then do the tour. We give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog rating scale.

One of the most amusing places I have been, an amazing experience with a very friendly and eccentric tour guide!1h30 touring around 4 different rooms with so many weird and unique things to see, play with and hop onto it.Both adults and children will enjoy this particular museum!Its on reservation only.

A total waste of time and money. Privately owned by a collector who doesn’t have one single sign by any object in this “museum” that even gives you the name of the object or any other information. No seating, no gift/souvenir shop and no refreshments. You get to ride 3 carousels, but there’s no history or anything to be learned. It’s essentially a clean warehouse of undocumented junk.

The best museum I’ve ever visited - great for kids too as you get to ride some of the attractions that date back to Napoleon times - it’s located just outside of Paris and easily accessible by train - but you do need a reservation well in advance!

So pretty!They were only offering French tours when we went so we were not able to understand the tour but it was really impressive. The lady who gave the tour (Richelleeven came to us personally to let us know she did speak English and was willing to answer any questions we might have.You get a hand-out in English to help you understand where exactly you are and what you are seeing and doing.You even get to ride 3 different carrousels and play some games.Hope to visit again once when there are English tours given!

This place never fails to delight. I came here 5 years ago for a tour and planned Christmas in Paris for the sole reason that this musee holds am annual 10-day festival. It was a treat to see it come to life with all of the (incredibly talentedperformers and to participate in the rides and games in a traditional carnival style.I recommend it for a visit any time!

This is one of the coolest things I have ever done in Paris. My mind was totally blown by the setting, collection, and experience of the tour. Nathalie was the most amazing guide. Her passion for the museum shined through and made it so fun. I had no idea we would get to ride the rides and play the games, which made it all that much more magical. Definitely reserve this tour.

This museum is a gem hidden in the center of Paris - within a great buzzing area, 1 minute from a big green park, and with lots of restaurants et bars

Fun, fun, and fun! Its quite long (around 2 hoursso go only if you have time to kill. It talks a bit about french history, and what i liked about it is how interactive it was, we got to play, hear the guide sing, as well as walk thru stages that make you feel like your strolling thru the set of the moulin rouge movie.

I went here for the christmas special theme, which is held without guided tour. I think in the rest of the year, it is only possible by tour. There were a lot of kids, but it is just as fun as for the adults. Some attractions are inside, but you have to have a attraction ticket(not the entry ticketto ride it. Also a lot to see, some shows to see and lot of fun toys. I spent 2 hours inside the museum. Recommended.

I visited the museum on the patrimony days since you usually have to book in advance to be able to see it, its a very nice place it really takes you back to the fairs of old time you can ride some of the attractions and enjoy the entertainment if Im not mistaken it will be open again to the public with no need to reserve in December.

Absolutely fabulous time during an evening work conference event. Playing on all on old games was soo much fun. Well organised, service was excellent and we had a great choice of food.

A truly amazing experience. Was organised by work. We had use of all the old amusements and this really takes you back to the innocence of your childhood. The drinks and food were alps top notch and incredibly delicious and tasty. Some of the food was even prepared live in front of me. The entertainment was also out of this world. Fire breathers, jugglers, singers. An incredible evening of whimsy and joy!

I’m not sure if they have English tours but when I came thru provided me with a English flier with all the information that was being shared in french. I rode 3 carousels Wich were amazing and can see why famous films like midnight in Paris were filmed here. The collection is amazing the grounds are breathtaking. What a perfect venue for an event and they do rent it out! Well worth the visit. Easy to book online and I even was able to secure a tour the same day.

Wow, the museum is extremely rich, and the tour is very impressive! Remember that you should book online ahead of time, they dont admit by showing at the door. After visiting the museum, I realized how much hidden history the city has to offer.

Enjoyable experience! Our company arranged gala evening at this place.There are almost 7 childish games. We can play and win surprise small prizes! Thats a very nice experience.And a show with robotic toys and disco lights was good!Can enjoy drinks, food.
