Murray Bridge Fish and Chip Shop - Fish & chips shop in Murray Bridge, Australia
Great girls very welcoming. The oil was old as the batter was dark. Our fish was soggy when we got it home 5 mins away. The food was covered with alfoil, never ever seen that before.Wrapped, holes poked in the paper and closed with sticky tape. A touch grubby. Im a chef by trade so I am picky. All in all not bad I will go back again. Never had alfoil over my fish and chips ever!!!Thats why everything was soggy
Great little shop friendly staff and good service very good food
Excellent Chips and hand cut fritters. Truly recommend
I ordered 2 chicken souvlakis,They were tiny they and they had no tomato on them, and were on wrap flat bread, not souvlaki bread. You could not eat it without it collapsing. Normally it has thicker bread and you can manage it. Not this one.Worst ever.
So dissatisfied, chips taste like they were frozen bagged before hand and then dipped in salt. Gravy was ok and the hygiene Im sorry but was way down hill. Place was dead Im gathering for a reason. All four family members felt ill after barely eating 20% of the meal. Would not recommend.
Just had one of their burgers. I have been in South Australia for only about 18 months and it was the best burger since moving down here.
Food ok nothing special, but would be better to be open more often & better hours, closing at 7.30pm is really early, often people dont eat that early or are not home from work yet ! If a business is not open, people cant buy from you, they will buy from elsewhere.
The food is average. Service is always fast and friendly even when theyre flat out busy
Excellent Staff and service. Fish and chips are A1.
Good food. Good service
Let down... stuck in the 80s, the shop needs a freshen up, so does the food. Cooking frozen food is why you have no customers champions
Chips are nice, but do not get a yiros from here.! Worst one Ive ever had, couldnt even call it a yiros when served in a soggy tortilla not pita, and was pretty cold.
Great FOOD and Serving Sizes and Great Customer Service. Highly Recommended...
Fish and chips tasted old even though they were fresh.I think they were cooked in old oil.Chips were full of oil and the fish was in two pieces at the bottom of a hotdog bag covered in chips.I couldnt eat more than 35% before I decided to throw the rest into the bin. This bin was green, two wheeler and had a capacity of 240l wich I thought was nice.Pretty disappointed about the fish and chips though.
1st time Ive ever experienced my battered fish being poorly served with next to no batter on it and hamburger well I asked 4 a runny egg and always seem to get 1 thats over cooked. they allways seem to try and rush their orders they had a dust pan and brush on top of the bench they serve food on while still serving customers.the girls there dont wear hair nets let alone put there hair up whilst cooking 😑 .they definitely need a couple of lessons on hygiene amongst other things
I am willing to go as far as to say, this is the best fish and chips I have had in Australia. F&C is my favorite go to for takeaway. 20 years Ive been searching Australia for some good fish and chips to rival my favorite place back in NZ! FOUND IT!!!! YUMMM!!!! Thanks ladies!! Chips crispy with lots of the little "Crunchy bits" batter of the fish was beautiful, crispy and light. Everything was perfect!! 10 out of 10!
Normally go to this place and never have a problem.Tonight we rang to order 3 yirosThe phone was answered with "yeh"I had to ask if it was the take away. The yiros were a disgrace. Wrapped in alfoil then baking paper. So they stuck to the alfoil.Certainly was not the proper pita bread for yiros. One yiros had no garlic sauce. They were well below standard.Tried to ring twice but no answer. What a waste of $40. Couldnt even eat the whole thing.
Best chips in town. Decent serving sizes for good prices
Creepy vibe over priced over cooked food.Yiros was half size and not even wrapped. Chips had way to much salt. The girls were really nice
I really love the crisp fluffy batter on the fish BUT last night was a big let down. For the first time you served me a cold soggy piece of fish . The chips were lovely hot and crisp But I dont know what happened with the fish
Super disappointing with dinner tonight $52 spent.Chips were overcooked and full of oilHamburger with the lot, Chicken Burger with the lot (without beetroot), Chicken Burger Plain (without beetrootwere all like mush and soggy rolls fell apart when I opened them, also while the girl was speaking with me dropped my chicken Burger with lot yes was in a paper bag but seriouslyThen 2 pieces of butterfish was full of oil and dipping oil thru the chips they were wrapped up with.Seriously if none of the staff like there jobs or dont want to be there find a new one
Be good if they changed there oil more often as sometimes chips very greasy. Also shop doesnt appear to be clean where is the environmental health officer????
Lovely staff and the fried chicken is absolutely delicious, best fried chicken BFC
waited over 40 mins for 2 x chicken yiros, some potato cakes and chips and a chiko roll. Yiross were half the size of other stores, chips and potato cakes were dry. My husband went in to order and sent me a message it would be a while as they were busy, that was at 6.20pm, we left the shop at 6.58pm. Not worth the wait, no apology, just excuses. DONT GO IF THEY ARE BUSY
Nice food.No smile or eye contact with service tho . ..but thats just me.Will return.
The potato fritters were great. The yiros needs more meat but it was nice. Ill have to stop by for the fritters soon🙂
Give one star spend $10 on chips and brought three butter fish. I give 10/10 for service and politeness 1 for the food😏reading the comments I would thought improvement would be better chips are really dry nil flavour over cooked. fish fresh but the batter dripping with oil poor effort on food
Just ordered $50 worth of food that all went in the bin. Chips are hard and taste like paper, fish is thin and gross. Never ordering from there again
Always Daryl aint got music aint got atmosphere but can love ya seafood ZZZ nice and the young girl he has helping cooks the very best STEAK SAMWICH
For food quality, serving size, customer service and prices, this is our preferred fish and chip shop in Murray Bridge. Love their seafood basket with an extra serve of fish and chips on the side, a very satisfying and tasty meal for two.
Crumbed fish was delicious. All the food was perfectly cooked and staff were friendly with good service.
Swanport Fish and Chips shop is great coz you get more Chip for your money. The Potato Fritters are a bit oily but eatable. Their Fish is wonderfully crunchie when cooked in batter. But the very favourite from Swanport Fish and Chip shop is Chips, Cheese and Gravy. My Grandson loves them.
Just had an inedible yiros made with a meat in a sickly sauce and chips, which thank goodness for the gravy as they were hard and very dry. Not a good experience at all. Sorry but your yiros needs a serious look at, starting with putting it in bread the appropriate size that will hold it as that little flat bread was just ridiculous. Then maybe if you use some marinated yiros meat, maybe chop the onion rather that thick slices of onion, so much needs attention,
The food was ok.. the chips wer hard and the batter was nice for the fish.. the fish wasnt so nice.. this was a fill in supper
Had take away butterfish and chips. Very inexpensive. Fish was perfect but chips were only average. But would definitely return for another meal. Could have been just a bad night. Very pleasant staff and quite busy
Customer service was great, the potato fritters were the best but the chips and the after taste left in your mouth was disgusting, not sure if the oil was dirty but it wasnt pleasant.
The chips were terrible very old oil I think. Got chicken bites cost $5 for 20 and only got 18 and they were so tiny, fish was OK but not worth my $15 would never go back
Great place for fish and chips ,we had a fish pack with an extra piece of fish and a crab stick with lettuce, tomato and beetroot with chips and tartare sauce,$15.00 bucks ,was really go old enjoyed it very much to fish was very good
I didnt really enjoy the food except the fish! The fish was amazing I would order the fish from them again! Very good service
Look, its a fish and chip shop so you should expect grease. The chips are good and plentiful, and the garfish I had was good although just a small fillet for your money. Just dont look at the stalagmites of grease in full view under the cookers and youll enjoy your food better.
The fish&chips are excellent here with large pieces & plenty of chips. Would increase my star rating if they stayed open later though. Often have to go elsewhere, especially on Fri nights & weekends.
beautifully cooked moist fish, crispy on the outside. nicely salted crunchy chips, very generous portions! well done
Great food ....best fish n chips in the area for value , taste and portion size...highly recommended but does get busy...
Inconsistencies with amount of chips when ordering the same dollars worth. Staff dont double check orders in warmer when customers walk in to make sure customers arent waiting when foods sits in the warmer when phoned orders
We came down from Adelaide today and stopped in at your F&C shop, can’t tell you enough what a wonderful meal it was, huge peice of butterfish lightly battered.......and beau fully cooked fully salted chips, it was all so delicious!! I have a funny idea that it was a good NZ fush & chup shop! 😂 thankyou guys, we will be back!!!
Food was average at best. Feel bad reviewing my local fish shop with such a low score I was gonna give it one star but I felt guilty its a small town and didnt want to hurt business. But honestly the food was not nice Ill never eat there again. Service was OK tho so thats why it got 3 stars. The yiros was tasty but small and way to juicy, it was wrapped in foil and baking paper made it hard to eat so I had to unroll it completely and wore most of it on my clothes. The chips tasted funny and where overcooked OK if you like really crunchy chips I guess, but I dont. The gravy tasted like corn flower or powdery of some sort yet it was very runny. The only nice thing I tried was a deep fried chicken they had, kinda like KFC style chicken it was pretty tasty.
The young girl who served me sunday was appalling. She must be related to the owners to still have her job. She never looked at me the whole time she served me. Had her head down. No thankyou no nothing . She was expressionless and not who customers want serving for returning business.
Great place for fish and chips.... excelent value and quality of fish.... and the chips are cooked really well ... nice and crispy - just the way I like them
We got a family dinner pack. Fish are very big but yellow. Chips plentiful but yellow. Gravy’s very good. Crabsticks are okay.
When some pays for extra cheese and gravy and to get all the way home to find out I didnt get what I ask 4. Its not get nice. As u can see the left side is extra cheese and gravy the right side is what I got tonight
