Angela Hartnett's fine Modern European cuisine in light, sophisticated space with chef's table.
Late lunch yesterday and it was absolutely divine. The food was excellent and the staff were superb. Big thanks especially to Lauren & Ali.
Such a special birthday treat! Fantastic, friendly and attentive staff who made us feel so welcome. And the food!! Oh my word I love this place so much - such joyous cooking and eating! Beautiful, spectacular taste and presentation. I hope to be back soon!
Angela Hartnetts famed Michelin-starred restaurant in Mayfair
It was Italian but not a pasta place. We wanted to try a Michelin rated place. Everything was fancy. We enjoyed the fish dishes. Service was impressive. Its not for children. Oh my the desserts were fancy. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto.
We had a wonderful long lunch. The service was excellent - attentive but unstuffy and very friendly. The food was superb. Cant wait to return.
The food is fresh and tastyThe vibe is cozy and elegant like as the food presentation! The price is reasonable.
Was lucky enough to celebrate by 18th Birthday here at the chefs table. The service was simply excellent, I could not fault it at all. We had the three course menu created for us that day and the food was simply sublime, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The wine was incredible, we were wonderfully advised by the sommelier. They were very attentive, and we had the best evening!Thank you guys it really made my birthday special!
An outstanding experience. From the amuse bouche onwards we found the entire evening clicked along at a steady, unrushed pace. Hard to single out any one dish as each was a triumph of flavour. The sweetbread, risotto, herb tortellini, sea bass, lamb and desserts - nothing underwhelmed. The sommeliers were fantastic. Their pairing recommendations for each course worked perfectly and their easy knowledge of each wine was a delight to listen to. The waiting staff we had were chatty and clearly enjoy working at Murano. Easily one of the best restaurants we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.
Lovely Italian restaurant, beautiful and delicious authentic Italian food menu. Great staff team, lovely interior design and set up, excellent cleanliness throughout. Nice atmosphere. Overall a great experience and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone.
It has been 10days since I went to Muranos and I still have images and taste memories consuming my thoughts daily. Some reviewers have commented on the decor but in my honest opinion my first thoughts were how fresh, clean and welcoming it was. The whole team were amazing from waiting staff to sommeliers and all of the chefs (we enjoyed the Chefs table experience which is an absolute must once in your life at the very least)Each and every member of staff were attentive, personable and friendly whilst being professional. I would highly recommend this place whether you are used to Michelin dining or you want to tick it off your bucket list this is a fantastic friendly and welcoming restaurant offering the very best to all walks of life.
The service was excellent but I wasnt blown away by the food. I really enjoyed the squid ink pasta but the risotto primavera with pea & garlic was over garnished, too much radish and leaves on top of it, personally I like simplicity like my grandma used to make. The Herb Tortellini was quite bland and the cornish pollock was swimming in beans 😳 the overall lunch was ok but not memorable!!
Small restaurant with excellent food and very attentive service. They were very accommodating to our four year old. Every body was wonderful and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented.
We had a wonderful lunch at Murano in May. The food was very creative & delicious. We only had time to try lunch during our short trip to London. Laura the manager was very helpful & attentive.Weve already told several friends about this place. Its a must try!
The food, wine and service were excellent! They have multiple set menu options and are flexible to order across them but there will be additional charges if you do.
A lovely night. staff were exemplary; warm, friendly and yet utterly professional. the food was superb with every course a treat. couldnt recommend it more highly!
This is quite an unassuming restaurant from the outside, and the decor is slightly dated, but the actual food and service is fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.Slightly different to the set menus you usually find at high end restaurants like this in that the menu is built so you can have anywhere between 3 and 6 courses with the chefs changing the portion sizes depending on how much you order. Its a great idea and lets you pick more of what you want.I had 6 courses - 3 of them absolutely sublime, 2 really nice, and one pasta dish which was quite bland tbh. However, the sweetbreads, halibut and chocolate plum dessert courses were amazing and I would definitely recommend. The dessert was maybe one of the best Ive ever had!
Best overall experience I’ve had in a Michelin starred restaurant (granted was only my third). The staff here all work as a team to ensure tire taken care of the entire meal. The food was incredible, the ambiance was light hearted and we felt very comfortable all night. There’s no dress code but you’ll feel out of place if you show up in board shorts and a tank top ;)We had a five course meal each (you can choose between 3-6 coursesand a couple bottles of wine which rolled out to about $700CAD and about 2.5hrs (Well worth the experience and food)
Love Murano. Been twice, the focaccia is insanely good, outstanding service, not stuffy and boy, do you leave full. Their 3 course set menu on a Saturday is definitely the one. We will be back for thirds.
Exceptional modern Italian cooking with the freshest ingredients and an innovative touch. Comfortable contemporary ambience and attentive and fast service. Good wine list to match. Bravo!
We absolutely loved Murano. The dishes and food were excellent, really well done, very distinct style and excellent execution. The setting is intimate, with limited covers and therefore a decent staff to customer ratio. The service was great too. Attentive but not intrusive. Definitely one to visit. The whole experience was excellent. From the amuse bouche, through the bread and grissini to the fish course and then cheese, the whole thing was really enjoyable and a great experience. You should go.
Nice setting on a side street. For a Michelin star restaurant, I expected more. The wine list wasnt impressive, the Sommelier seemed in a hurry and the food was average. Ive had much better Italian within a few blocks.
SO nice not to have to beg for tap water. All the staff were friendly and made us feel completely at home. Focaccia bread was beautifully crisp on the outside and those long, thin bread sticks were absolute perfection. Thank you!
At least 2 things best in my life! Bread. It’s really something. It’s worth going only for bread. Second - passion fruit soufflé. Terrific combination with white chocolate ice cream.Pasta was unusual and amazing. The chef changes the menu due to season. So it’s a good idea to visit at least 4 times per year.
3 amazing lunch courses at a relative steal of £50pp. The meal started off with rosemary bread and sliced salami with tantalising olive oil. I wished I asked where they procured it from. My date and I ordered to share and technically had 6 different courses. There were no standouts - Every piece was a work of art and magical on the tongue. Even the petit fours were memorable. Think chocolate with basil (or was it shiso). The meal took a little long to complete. 3 courses over 2 hours. And it was filled with businessy guests which personally made it a little stuffy. No gripes as we were there for the food.
It pains me to write this since I have genuine admiration for Angela Hartnett. I am afraid my experience was poor after a visit for my wifes birthday. The meal was overly rushed, we were on the first sitting at 7pm but the pace of the meal was ridiculous, which given the restaurant was half-full seemed a little unnecessary. A fantastic mix of bread, olive oil and ham was presented to us after the amuse-bouche was taken away. I wasnt even half way through a slice of lovely sourdough when our starters were presented. We asked the sommelier (who was very goodto pair wine with each course but the courses were going at such a speed - you couldnt drink fast enough. My burrata starter was overwhelming, far too much cheese to deal with. Everything had too much salt. The halibut was over-cooked to the point it might as well have been mashed and that was an additional £10, the asparagus with the dish was a joke, one and of it shredded could be used to floss your teeth, if you could actually get a knife through it. These were all things we could live with then the lamb (another £10 premiumcame out, which literally would have needed a macerator to break it down, it was ridiculously chewy and ridiculously bitter. I rejected the dish and to their credit the chef acknowledged the poor quality of lamb and offered me the Jacobs ladder as an alternative. I appreciated their offer but since my wife had nearly finished her meat course and I was losing faith I politely declined putting it down to just a bad dish on a bad day, these things happen. 5 mins later despite me declining the dish and my wife finishing her meat course, I was delivered Jacobs Ladder. When I said thank you, but I did say I didnt want it, they had said that regardless of that conversation they thought I should have it as a replacement (and in fairness on-the-house).It was the last straw for myself and my wife, I said it wasnt necessary and I didnt want the dish but it appeared that my opinion didnt matter. We left, £311 lighter, just over an hour into the experience (three courses, 1 amuse-bouche and 1 serving of bread in just over an hourand bitterly disappointed.Over served, over seasoned, overly fast and very well below Michelin star quality. If I wanted fast food I would go to a chain restaurant, probably ingest less salt and have it cooked on-point - it just wouldnt be matched with great wine which the fine sommelier did, it was a shame we had to gulp it down rather than savour it. I appreciated their attempt to rectify a problem that was known to them, but if I say I dont want something - surely it is simple. Very sad day, and definitely the worst premium restaurant experience of my life, certainly not worth any Michelin star.
Firstly, the cooking was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The sommelier was excellent and recommended interesting pairings. The other staff were a bit hit & miss even taking into account the tough times hospitality is having. The place itself is looking really tired and a bit drab which honestly surprised me. Im very pleased to have tried Murano, but I dont think we will be rushing back.
A totally amazing experience for my birthday from my wife. We both love the ideas and creations when we have seen Angela on TV. Her restaurant lives up to its reputation and some. I have been fortunate eat in some other Michelin stared restaurants and this is one on the best. I would say this is close to a second, although I dont work for the guide. The menu is excellent, chose upto 6 dishes, we could only manage 4, but wow, each course was amazing. The staff were excellent, extremely knowledge about the dishes and the wine matched our tastes and the food perfectly. Definitely will return.
An understated elegance to the place, with great staff and service and delicious food. I loved it! I also very much liked the espace between the tables. From the moment you arrive staff are so welcoming and attentive, with the perfect mix of being professional but friendly, helpful and on the ball at all times. The little aperitif of parma ham, focaccia bread, with rich olive oil to dip in and the nocellara olives is a beatiful touch that sets the tone for what is to come and its oh so good! The ham delicious and almost melting in your mouth and the focaccia bread the best Ive ever had!I had the 3 courses set menu, and my choice of Wye Valley asparagus, Cornish pollack and mint parfait was, in my opinion, just perfect. In brief, delicious food, in a lovely place with great staff. I loved it!
As on previous visits, we had a wonderful time at Murano: fantastic, creative food, great wine selection and lovely attentive staff. Whats more, the atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming unlike some other Michelin-starred restaurants that I could mention.. If this feedback form allowed me to give you more than five stars, I would. In my opinion, Murano is the best restaurant in London by a considerable margin.
The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly helpful and personable. The only feedback I have is that the service was a little slow, but the food made up for it, I would definitely return ☺️
If you want to leave a restaurant satisfied then go to Murano. The menu was varied with a good selection available. I had a starter, pasta, fish, main and dessert. All were absolutely delicious and portion sizes were spot on. No complaints whatsoever. The food tasted great, with a real diversity of flavour and texture that made every bite thoroughly enjoyable. In addition, the ambience was perfect. A small, intimate venue with a very relaxed environment created the setting for a wonderful evening. The staff were friendly and engaging, further adding to the relaxed feel whilst not compromising on quality service. Its often asked whether the prices paid for fine dining are worth it. In this case I can confirm the meal was worth every penny.Would highly recommend this restaurant. I myself intend to come back again later this year.
We had an amazing date night. That fish was to die for. It was an amazing experience, from the canapes to the dessert. The staff was amazing and the food on a different level.Best way to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a wonderful evening. The food was sublime and the service was friendly, attentive to the right level and excellent. Though the restaurant was full it is not a huge place so the noise level was not at all intrusive (even though next to us there was a table of 8 Americans ;-)One small tip, we went for 4 courses but couldnt eat the dessert - not because the servings were large but because they were so beautifully prepared and cooked and we were totally satisfied. I would particularly recommend the Jacobs Ladder dish - which is a finely prepared and cooked beef. My knife slid through it like a souffle, so tender was the meat - and the taste was divine. Enjoy - its a lovely restaurant.
Great service, beautiful and delicious food. Set lunch is very good value for a Michelin starred restaurant.
I was there as a birthday treat to myself. All the staff were very attentive. Service was not rushed and was exactly as wanted. fantastic recommendations for wines for each course and they were really good. Best dish I had was probably the monkfish but they were all fantastic
Visited on a Friday evening for a 6:30pm reservation. The welcome was professional but also warm and friendly. The restaurant has a calm, elegant and relaxing atmosphere with large (even for two), well spaced tables and very comfortable seating. The start of the meal is generous with a couple of different nibbles as well as bread with ham, before the starter. The menu format is flexible, enabling any number of courses to be selected and the food is sized accordingly. I found portions to be just right for our four courses, as I left satisfied but not stuffed. I particularly enjoyed the venison and the lemon tart is every bit as wonderful as other reviews have said. After our glass of champagne, the Angela Hartnett rose was a nice, easy drinking companion for the rest of the meal. Service throughout was professional but also individual, with waiting staff happy to chat a moment and provide recommendations. We did need to leave our table at 9:15 (which we were told in advance), so do bear this in mind, but we were able to finish our drinks at the little bar (very small, not somewhere youd want to spend long). Nonetheless, I left feeling like Id had a very lovely treat and would definitely very happily return.
Murano is the finest restaurant in which I have ever dined. The food was delicious and service was excellent. My favourite dish was the Jacob’s ladder, and it was cooked to perfection combined with the red wine sauce and other accompaniments.
Highly recommend Murano for their tasty food, private and cosy atmosphere, and friendly services. We were offered canapés while deciding what to order, which was a lovely savory and sweet popcorn nibble. During the services there was bread and cold meat for the table. We enjoyed every dish we ordered, especially the brill and the soufflé.
As an Italian food lover this restaurant will always be a highlight of my dining calendar and after saturday’s visit there is no reason whatsoever to change that. The food is absolutely fabulous and matched by the best service and great wine. I can honestly say that I am already looking to when I can go back. Now onto the day itself which started with a delightful welcome from manager Laura and the team. She then escorted us to our table along the far wall that gives you a great view of the whole restaurant. While having a nice catch up we were poured a complimentary glass of bubbles to start us off. We were then given the menus consisting of a Lunch Menu or the A la Carte where you had the choice to choose either 3 , 4 , 5 or 6 courses creating your own Tasting Menu. It was at this point that Laura gave us a surprise and amazing gesture from head chef Em who had said that she would be very happy to create a personal Tasting Menu for us both. Well how could we refuse so therefore gladly accepted.Next it was to to meet sommelier Ali but on this occasion we made her life easy as we wanted to try the Angela Hartnett 2019 Toscana Bianco which I have to say was a fabulous pairing for a majority of the menu and also excellent value for money. This was followed by the usual fabulous selection of snacks consisting of croquettes , olives , breadsticks , charcuterie , rosemary focaccia & a sweetcorn panna cotta topped with popcorn & red amaranth. Now we moved onto the menu itself which started with two amazing dishes. They were a Raw Orkney Sea Scallop with elderflower , gooseberry & radish. As well as the Vitello Tonnato with fennel & pickled capers. These were two absolute delights leaving us with great expectations for what was to follow. These were indeed followed by two excellent pasta dishes. The first was a Herb Raviolo with tenderstem broccoli , swiss chard & parmesan. The other was a Pomodoro Agnolotti with stracciatella & basil. Our next courses were simply heaven. There was a big smile on my wife’s face as she was presented with the Hand Rolled Linguine with mussels , saffron & chilli. For myself there was equal delight as I enjoyed a fantastic rich and creamy Carnaroli Risotto with girolles & summer truffle. Now our palate needed to be lightened which brought us to the fish course. They were a Halibut , hispi cabbage , smoked eel & seaweed buerre blanc along with a Roasted Monkfish with romesco , courgette & piquillo peppers. These were two more fabulous dishes as we continued to enjoy a fantastic afternoon. This led us to the main course and to a dish that I would absolutely love. It was a Heritage Tomato with burrata , tomato & a basil dashi that was not as light as the appearance would have you think as a mixture creaminess with refreshing tomato & basil made this dish one that I would highly recommend. My wife was given the supplemented Herdwick Lamb with goat’s curd , jersey royals & basil pesto that was by the look on her face was amazing. These dishes were paired beautifully with two delightful wines recommended by sommelier Ali. She chose a Candialle 2013 Chianti Classico and a fabulous 2019 Faustine rose. Now it was time to finish with desserts and just like the rest of the menu these were absolutely delicious. My wife was presented with a Strawberry & Elderflower Mille Feuille and for myself a heavenly Raspberry & Chocolate Souffle that was just sublime and paired perfectly with a Recioto Della Valpolicella dessert wine.We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end a fantastic afternoon of Italian food which was matched by excellent service led by Laura & Alessandro and fabulous wine pairings from sommelier Ali. We then received a nice surprise as chef Em came over to our table for a chat. This gave us the chance to personally thank her and the team for the absolutely stunning dishes she had created. If you are a fan of Italian food & wine then I can’t recommend a visit to Murano highly enough and I’m definitely looking forward to returning again soon.
Lovely meal here with my wife. Italian food with quite a lot of French influence. Really enjoyed the pasta, fish and meat courses. I would have preferred a more traditional Tiramisu though.Service was good but not at the same level as Core for example.I enjoyed the lobster linguine the most.
Disappointing experience for a Michelin Starred restaurant.Although the service staff were amazing, we were disappointed not to be given stools for our handbags. My friend even had to place her handbag on the floor. The quality of ingredients were very fresh, but everything was overly salty. The pavlova dessert was terrible as the meringue was way too sticky and flat, which is not what a pavlova should be. Their signature lemon tart had a lovely thin pastry but wasn’t terribly exciting.
Loved every single dish, really enjoyed the experience. High quality ingredients well cooked served by sweet waiters. Had a great night.
A really wonderful experience! We were greeted by all with the most friendly and sincere of welcomes. This continued with the best and most attentive service, not once did it feel overwhelming even though they were on top of every matter. We had the set lunch which is so well priced and further helped by the eat out to help out scheme. The lamb as the main is a very special dish which I highly recommend.I really want to book again to further explore the main dinner menu.A 5 star experience!
Came here for lunch while the Eat out to help out scheme is on. We had a 3 course set menu and after service charge only came to £30pp. Excellent valueService was great, and COVID measures were appropriate (e.g. everyone need to sanitise their hands upon entry)Food were solid - they were all done well and the foccacia as part of the canapes was particularly good. Were they excellent or give you the wow factor? Not really - I was more impressed by, say, pollen street social which had a similarly priced lunch menu tooNonetheless - if you like straightforward, classically cooked and solid food - you will love Murano. This price plus current offeris pretty unbeatable and definitely worth a visit!
I had an amazing meal at Murano. Both the food and service were exceptional. I really cant think of a single negative thing to say. Will definitely try to come back!
This restaurant is superlative, where i found the italian flavours and art of cooking. You can feel the experience and passion of this beautiful chef in every dish.Of course, the price is high, but it is really worth it.Also the staff and atmosphere are supreme.
What a place. Its all about the experience and taste. Beautiful service. Well explained dishes and good choices of drinks. Staff is on a good level, keeping an eye on details. Bread was delicous. The scallop starter and the souffle for dessert were the highlights for me. Good place to visit at least for lunch menu and to have a taste for the place. Would recommend and go back again.
Amazing food and services! All the staffs are very knowledgeable and professional! The vibes are formal yet relaxing. Food selections are simple yet more than enough to choose from. Would definitely come back
Wonderful pasta, delicious light gnocchi, superb pistaccio souffle, tender venison and enjoyable fish. Other than the souffle, the desserts were disappointing - tepid tarts and over-sweet rum baba. However, excellent bread and coppa with a herbaceous olive oil to start and good parmesan and mushroom treats as an amuse bouche. Service surprisingly slow and casual (wine dripped everywhere and food not served at the same timebut friendly staff. Sitting at the table with the banquette near the rear can be noisy, as it is very close to the kitchen door (chefs tables are in a raised area behind and watch through glass). Pleasant ambience - understated and calm. Tables a little too close for an intimate dinner.
Had a visit a long time ago. The only surprise was the starter with the lamb and alongside with the quality olive oil are the only reasons that I am giving a 2, not a 1. The main was ox tongue where it was a huge disappointment as it tastes like my school meal. Just the tongue is tender. The dessert is also extremely average where it is like an M&S food. The chocolate one is reasonable. But no surprise at all.Bread on the other hand is very very good. But when I didn’t even finish, the staff took it away. Service was limited. Quality of food is rather concerning. Definitely not worth a Michelin star.Overall:Quality of food: 4/10Surprise factor: 0.5/10Value of money: 2/10Service: 4/10Location: 8/10Possibility of return: Will not go back
