Pub cheerfully decked out with mismatched furniture, Chesterfield sofas and vintage items.
Like many of the Youngs establishments, this place has gone downhill since Covid with, what appears to be, a significant lack of investment in staff leading to a lower quality of the overall experience. Disappointing from what used to be one of London’s best pub companies.
Lovely pub with great atmosphere, food average. The beef Sunday roast was embarrassing. 2 thin slices of beef, hard at some points, 2 potatoes and a carrot. There was an ox tail croquette which was the most interesting part of the dish. The Yorkshire pudding, hard and overcooked. Way overpriced, £21 pounds for this delusional dish. Very disappointed.
I like this pub very much. The service was polite and friendly, decent beer and good wine list. Only issue poor vegetarian options. Menu in general could be better.
Accommodating team, helped us find space for a walk in on a busy Sunday. Service was quick and the food was delicious. A nice little find!
Came here for a Sunday roast - staff were fabulous, couldn’t do enough for you, delicious roast, great selection of drinks, really nice atmosphere. Will be back!
Fantastic Sunday roast, expensive but worth it. Great staff team. Plus a decent select of beer on tap. A great pub.
Great range of IPAs all in one handy place. Quirky decor for a pub but very welcoming. Food we had was delicious. Great place for a beer and a bite on the south bank.
A lovely pub just slightly back from the tourist trail. A decent selection of beers to choose from and a kitchen serving good food at a reasonable price. The service can be a bit off at times but dont let that put you off
Enjoyed a great team lunch with work colleagues and found the service to be attentive and friendly. Lovely place and highly recommend it.
Me and my family went here on Sunday for a roast dinner ,it was absolutely lovely and we will definitely be back again soon . The staff where very friendly 🙌
Underwhelming food. Lovely and friendly staff, a pleasant outdoor seating area on a quiet street.
Appalling service.Waited 90+ minutes with 2 hungry kids for the worlds smallest bowls of chips. 2 rounds of drinks whilst waiting, 3 prompts for the food which was served in the tiniest cups that you might keep your toothbrush in.2 stars as the beer was ok, but -3 for the shoddy service on what wasn’t the busiest of Sundays at the bar.Could do a lot better.
Great menu, good selection of roasts (meat and veg). Only niggle, I requested cranberry sauce and none was available. A little pricey. Worth it.
Very disappointing...Went here one evening with some friends midweek, for drinks and food. The staff were friendly and helpful, but seemed very stressed. Nice selection of drinks and it has a good cozy pub vibe / ambience. The food was awful though...I was expecting half-decent pub grub. It was presented well but the majority of the main dishes we ordered had little to no taste, were overcooked and cold in places. The bangers and mash were the biggest disappointment. To add to it, there seemed to be communication issues between the kitchen and bar staff taking the orders. A few of us were told a dish was not available after we had already paid. One of us had this happen twice in a row! And this was about 20 minutes after ordering.Perhaps it was a one-off bad day/evening. Recommended for afterwork drinks, or with friends, but not for the food based on this experience.
Most helpful lady ever, stopped off on a hen so for a drink, she was lovely and the pubs lovely too!
Popped in today after a visit to the Globe Theatre. Went round the houses looking for a Sunday roast and ended up here.Drinks; a good selection of beers and Ales plus the usual suspects.Staff were attentive and very friendly. The Sunday roast was amazing. We had the beef as the chicken was sold out. Amazing plate of food and so much better than I could ever rustle up.Highly recommended and off the beaten track so not too busy even when the South Bank is heaving with people.
We popped in on the way to dinner yesterday. We were SO welcomed, the atmosphere was SO chilled, and everyone was wonderful. Great beers on tap, a beautiful gin selection, AND delicious coffee (I actually had a mocha and it was fab!). Thanks to the whole team for making our (all too briefvisit such a joy!
Great pub for Sunday roast! Superb service from the team. A must stop off if you walking the south Bank for a drink or some food!
Lovely pub just behind the southbank centre, friendly staff and great food and drinks
Its OK. Noisy, but nice beer. Sometimes difficult to find a table, even just for a pint.
Great for drinks, not so much for sandwiches based on my experience; so dry mainly due to the large bread to filling ratio.
The pub is fine and there was a large group of us but it did take a long time to be served. The staff were friendly and the venue has both indoor and outdoor seating.
Pretty fast service for a Friday night, good food and attention to details. Nice spirits selection (thank you Vlad for your spot on suggestions, give that guy a raise!🔝Pleasant experience, will definitely be back for more.
Lovely bar with friendly vibe. Good choice of drinks and by the looks food. Great place to chill out with friends.
Came in today with some friends, lovely food and drinks 🤤 Big thanks to Vlad for being so patient with our order, a true professional! 🙏We’ll totally visit again 😊
Decent watering hole just off Southbank waterside. Open aspect onto quiet street. Small outside space and lots of room indoors. Popular with office folk after work. A tad expensive.
Absolutely loved my Sunday roast, nice staff, quick service. Had the beef, husband had the roast chicken, not sure how we manage dessert but was amazing!
I Visited the Mulberry Bush pub last weekend with a few of my friends, and we had a lovely evening- great food, amazing service and a super selection of drinks to choose from. The pub is a great location and I will definitely be back soon!!
This is a great pub for everybody. Been here a few times, food is great, staff are so friendly and very quirky, lovely. The manager is very helpful, she welcomes families and also dogs are welcome to, water is provided for them, reminds me of a good traditional English pub. Decor is good to.
A lovely place for a pub lunch. The staff here are great. Enjoyed a great Sunday roast. Excellent Yorkshire pudding! Washed it down with a couple of cheeky pints. They have a baby change too which was very helpful for getting the bug sorted.
Nice cosy bar - though a couple of the cocktails were made incorrectly, overall it’s a nice place for a drink. Haven’t tried the food but it looked good.
Would help if the Youngs WiFi actually got the Youngs app working to order from table.... Food ... No burgers !?!?! On a week night !! Youngs Original and Special run out in a Youngs pub .... Good location for Southbank and IMAX but I just dont like this pub.....
This is a really nice gastro pub with a great location and very nice interior. The food was also really good. The only reason for the 3 stars is the incredibly slow service. We went for a Sunday roast and it was 2 hours before we actually got our roast. We had also ordered starters which the server accidentally got wrong. So they had told us they would bring us the right ones and told us they were on the way and 25 minutes later they showed up (it was only salad).
the place is lovely food.slightly overpriced for quantities given. have given 3 stars due to the slowness of delviery and attitude of the guy behind the bar who was rude to say the least
Great vibe, good service - lovely wine selection. Very pub typical menu so struggled for healthy options but enjoyed our night out and shall definitely return
Just behind Gabriels Wharf and a short stroll from Southwark / Waterloo, this is a cute pub with nice interiors and well spaced seating. Nice variety of drinks and food too.We couldnt get the app for ordering to work so we just ordered from the bar.
Being just off the main tourist thoroughfare makes this pub a little more genuine feeling but it’s still a popular spot and understandably so. There’s a range of seating inside and a number of cosy spots, along with a small outdoor section and the ability to stand out the front. The staff are friendly, there’s a good selection of drinks, and everywhere is clean including the toilets. Great pub and somewhere you can easily spend a few hours relaxing in.
Nice pub, nice location and the team were friendly, but our Sunday roast was pretty average. We both ordered pork belly which as far as Im aware was supposed to have apple sauce and crackling (I may be wrong about apple sauce, but there wasnt any which was a shame). The crackling on the pork was terrible. The pork had a nice flavour but the crackling was rubbery and inedible. Our table wasnt checked on until we had finished our meal, when we werent asked how our food was but if we were done, so I brought up the crackling issue and we got a half hearted "sorry about that". Then no more service to our table at all. We decided not to bother with dessert and just pay at the bar. Overall a bit disappointing.
I went there yesterday for the first time, for a Sunday roast, and it was lovely. Just off from the river along southbank, it was a great location for meeting my friend. The food was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and best of all my dog was allowed inside too! Its hard sometimes to find a good pub that allows dogs inside, so Im so glad I found this place as I will definitely be going back again. The decor inside is lovely too.
Nice pub. The food is not great...I ordered a burger without the bun I got a burger patty with some limp iceberg and a square of processed cheese on top, with fries for the price of £16. However, the fries werent bad at all and they have a good Malbec.
We were meeting friends that we hadnt seen for ages and were looking forward to a catch up. A pub was the preferred choice as a couple of people wanted good beer and we were coming in from various places around London so picked here. What a mistake. The acoustics are terrible so the noise meant we spent the whole evening shouting and even then couldnt speak to the people on other side of the table without sign language. No table service (not a problembut went to bar to order only to be told half our choices were unavailable. Picked through the remaining choices and managed to cobble together an order mostly steaks and sat and waited and waited and you get the picture. Finally steaks and the one fish and chips that wed managed to order arrived. No pies yet. Others started pies arrived and we dug in. Steak people said tasty but not enough. I had a pie and that is the reason it is two stars. It was the best pie Ive had. Just sell pies maybe that could be your esp. Plates finally cleared and went to order puds. Too late kitchen had just closed..........I appreciate the difficulties of getting produce but cut the menu down if you cant supply dishes, maybe inform food orders that they should order puddings at the same time to avoid disappointment? It was great to see our friends again which is what made the evening for us. Will not be coming back next time we meet. Maybe were getting old but having to shout all evening is not our idea of fun.
Came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, everyone was very friendly. We were in at 2pm and it was fairly quiet which I like. The food was great and there was a good selection of soft drinks. This is definitely my new go to pub near Waterloo.
As you enter the pub looks fresh and new. Staff were not very welcoming. Seating was uninviting, school hall standard. Our order was cancelled and 20 minutes later we were asked to resubmit it. Food took a while. Mains fell below standard for the prices charged. My burger looked abysmal and tasted like bad barbecued it was too dry to finish. The apple and fig crumble was not good. There was no crumble. Instead a sprinkling of some kind. Possibly powdered biscuit? All in, a 2 hour meal took us over 3 and a half hours with waiting. when the bill, came, I saw the card machine give the option of service charge. I didn’t press any choice but after I saw the bill they had already added 12.5% which amounted to £43. Add that to food which was completely substandard . £50 a head? What a joke. Overpriced and unremarkable. I can’t believe they are still getting away with food worse that harvester , in central London. Don’t come. Here for food.
Cute pub not too far from where I live - and popped in before heading to the theatre.. decent beer and wine selection and had a few snacks from the food menu…I’d deffo go back for a few drinks, and if memory serves me well they show sport - so probably head back from a few drinks and the footy
A nice place for a quiet drink a bit further from the business of Southbank. Service is good, drinks have normal prices and the ambience is good. One point of improvement would be to not have the music as loud, as it is already hard to talk to people when everyone is already shouting because they had more than half a pint.
I visited this pub with 4 other. Reasonable prices considering its location. The Butternut squash Wellington was very nice but it was the only vegetarian option. None of us ordered wine but they left the wine glasses on the table. Even though we moved them aside and the waiter made a comment about it they left them there, until they needed them to set up the table next to us... everyone enjoyed their food.
A bustling pub just a short distance from Waterloo Station and very close to Gabriel’s Wharf. It’s easy to book a table and there’s even table service for drinks and food. Tasty food includes the likes of sausage and mash (pictured here with yummy parsnip crisps), pies and nice-looking desserts that I may sample on a future visit.
We were exploring London and came upon this pub. We felt so welcomed from the start. The bartender was funny and hospitable and the food was fantastic. I had a Camden ale and stew which was delicious. The place is clean, hip, mismatched & cool. Overall rad place & possibly the best pub in England 🏴
We had our Christmas lunch here and it was super delicious. First time having traditional English food. Wasn’t disappointed!Service was more than awesome.
Very nice pub wih a great atmosphere and good selection of drinks. Food is OK, nothing special but quality is good. The staff is the best part of the pub! They are really super kind and customer oriented. I would not go again for dinner, but for drinks and a snack is totally recommended.
