Great place. The owner is super passionate and knowledgeable about all the games. Went on a date here and it was a very fun experience that was affordable and entertaining.Highly recommend Mugs N Meeples if you are looking for something to do with friends, family or significant other. The popcorn is great too!!

Awesome place to play games with friends! Their game selection ranges from casual to hardcore. Didnt get a chance to try their food on this trip, but the drinks were good. My wife really likes her fruity cocktail. The person working was really knowledgeable about the games we asked about, and even showed us how to play a new one. If you are even a bit interested in board games, you should check this place out.

Excellent lounge with more than plenty of board games to choose from. Also there is a retro arcade center with loads of retro video games to play!The kitchen also serves a wide variety of bar food and mains. Both food and drink menus are fair priced.Overall we were very satisfied with our evening and will definitely return!

Fantastic, out if the way gaming cafe. The staff are FANTASTIC and the ambiance is wonderful. The drinks and food are also reasonably priced and delicious.

Im not a board gamer but I always like to learn. You want to learn a new board game, Mugs N Meeples is the place to do it. Not only is the owner awesome to talk to, but the food is amazing. Flatbreads are mmmm good. The homemade marinara sauce, that is to die for.

Great boardgame café with awesome friendly staff. They have a diverse game selection, tasty menu and lots of space for all the games (including a Wii). Just a nice spot for all ages! Will definitely go back!

Fantastic place with great food/drinks, wonderful service and a wide variety of very well-kept games.The prices are excellent, the atmosphere is clean and inviting no matter your experience level. A great place to hang out with your friends, or because of their fairly frequent events, make some new ones.A true gem in St. Catharines, and youd be doing yourself a disservice not to go.

Nice place for board games. $5 each to play any of those games all night. They also have some vintage video games systems you can play as well. Prices for food and drink are average. They have bottle beer service. Food and tea / coffee.

As a couple who are board game fanatics who have been to many board game cafes across southern Ontario, mugs n meeples is our all time favorite board game cafe. The owner is always super friendly and helpful, always suggesting new games and helping explain them, he is very passionate and knowable about the games. The food is all handmade and amazing, I swear he went to culinary school. The location is in a quiet area and always easy to find parking, the interior and atmosphere is always inviting with cool local art work. For these and many other reasons we are regulars on a Saturday night during University. Thanks for expanding our library of board games to play.

Came here a few weeks ago at around 10pm on a Friday.Was looking for a sit down style coffee place and was pleased to find this gem in the city .The owner paid such close attention to each guest even when he had a near full house he always made sure to come over to us to see how we are and even teach us some games we had never heard of .Did not get a chance to try any food as we mainly were there for a coffee and a few board games, but everyone there seemed to be ordering a lot of it .Will be back 100% hopefully with a larger group of friends .Great place, great concept and it was nice to forget about my cellphone screen for a change and just have some fun for a few hours for a great price.

Great selection of games from old favourites to new discoveries. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to teach or answer questions as needed. Close to downtown, but far enough away that parking isnt an issue on a Saturday night.

Tons of variety for board games, and the staff there always seems to know each games rules like the back of their hand, and are willing to guide you through the first round and beyond. The cocktails are also quite excellent!

My boyfriend and I have been going to Mugs N Meeples since they opened and it has been nothing but amazing. Jorge is kind, provides speedy service and still managed to explain new games to us with clarity. I wouldnt go to any other board game Cafe!

Great atmosphere, great drinks and awesome selection of games Ive played before and some Ive never even heard of (literally bookshelves full)! The host was amazing at explaining a game I have never tried to my table, he was concise and efficient when it came to the objectives and the mechanics of the game. I was able to quickly pick it up after that and had a blast playing. I also ordered a great made to order chicken caesar salad wrap and my drink was always tended to! Definitely coming back in the future, especially interested in their paint nights and a video game system that they said will be coming soon.

This place is so much fun! Everytime we go we discover a new game, and often times we get to know new people. The owner is helpful and fun. Good snack and drink options.

Had the best night out with the kids. Food was amazing and the owner was great! Played board games all night and kids enjoyed cotton candy at the end. Owner easily explained any questions we had concerning a game and rules of how to play. Was so much fun for everyone ... a great family night out:)

It was a very nice place where the employees interacted well with myself and had a genuine interest in my thoughts about the games. They also do have refreshments and food so it makes the stay comfortable for your duration! :)

We had a great time just hanging out and playing board games. In my opinion, the snacks are a little pricey, but still yummy! I mean, they have to make money somewhere. Ill definitely be back!

Great games, food and atmosphere. If there is a new game you want to play and dont know how, the owner George will help you out and have you playing in minutes. Great experience for big groups or small groups. Highly recommend checking it out of you havent.

this is one of my favourite places to spend time with friends! the game selection is awesome and full of hand picked gems. the owner is super super friendly and able to explain rules of all the games, which means we get to spend less time reading rule books and more time playing games. the food and drinks are excellent! highly recommend the fresh cinnamon buns and cookies

This is a fantastic place to converse over food and board games. Me and my team only tried two board games, but they lasted us for hours. Moreover, there is a whole bookshelf of fun to try out and the staff are willing to teach you the rules of any game you are unfamiliar with.Furthermore, the variety and quality of the dishes are above par. There are hot beverages, pizza, cinnamon buns, and more to choose from. The friendly staff prepare your food items on the spot so you know you are getting your moneys worth.

Fantastic food. Family-frindly atmosphere. Staff that will bend over backwards for the customer. A plethora of games. Clean, tidy space. Well-lit. Theme and special games nights. I participated in a harry potter themed murder mystery. It was well created, thoughtful and all-around well done. Themed drinks for the night.

We come to visit Mugs N Meeples usually once every 6-8 weeks and always get consistantly great service! George is super nice and takes time with each table to explain Rules, check in on how the games are going, and make sure you and having a good time! And the flatbreads are to die for! If you want a great date night, or group game night DEFINITELY check it out!!

Great place to have fun with family and friends. Food is great, drinks are great, good clean atmosphere and the owner is always willing to help, specially when it comes to explaining the games. There’s so many different events happening every week.

Love the snacks, especially the cotton candy. Friendly service and a decent selection of games, all in good shape, plus good advice on how to play them. The music is too loud and electronic for a venue where you want to concentrate on table conversation.

Great game selection! The food, drink, and atmosphere are amazing too. I have gone multiple times and the owner has been able to teach me and my gf every random game we have pulled off the shelf. I highly recommend this place to anyone lookibg to have a fun affordable night out.

Great venue, really accommodating when I wanted to book for my boyfriends birthday. Let me reserve a table for 14 when I’d had issues doing this at another place. Staff were so knowledgable about all the games and helped our whole table learn a complex game, and also walked us through the first stages to ensure we were doing it right. Thanks for a great night!

My wife and I stopped in to find our new favorite place in the falls region. Great games, staff was fantastic. Prices are great. Atmosphere is top notch. Will be back again and again with more friends. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone looking for a good day. Thanks for a great time guys.

We had a fantastic time at Mugs N Meeples. Theres a well curated selection and variety of games so I can confidently say that there really is something for everybody (strategy games, dexterity games, luck games, cooperative games, etc.)The owner was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire evening. I am pretty sure he can teach the rules to every single one of the games on those shelves, which is pretty impressive.Thanks again - I am sure that we will be back when we visit St. Catherines again!

I loved this cafe! The service was amazing, the staff were really knowledgeable about any game. I went on a Friday night and it was considerably quiet and made for a great date. The drinks were good, and the food looked great too. The atmosphere was really nice.

Definitely recommend it. Staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable about every game and was there to explain how to play them. Really excited for when they will have some escapes rooms available as well. If we hadn’t already ate we would of definitely tried the food. The pizza looked absolutely delicious.

Nice place to spend a fun evening with friends. No one minded grandma and baby playing on the floor. Owner a amazing guy really nice, seemed to know 100s of games and rules. We are from Kingston area and went with our Son and his family....... wish we had a place like that here.

As someone who has tried a number of these in a few different cities I feel this one is on a good path! Though it is slightly small right now, the service cannot be undersold and the food/beverages are satisfying and accommodating to a wide range of patrons. The owner seems to be very passionate about his business and can regularly be found interacting with his customer, giving tips on games, and taking imput on new ideas for the store. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and I expect this place to go far so long as people get the word out that it exists. Best of luck and looking forward to visiting again when in town.

I’ve been here for both date night and a family night out. We’ve got kids ages 5, 11, and 14 and they all had fun. It’s clean and cozy, there’s an excellent selection of board games. Our host was very knowledgeable about all the games, and was able to make some great recommendations for us. The food was great too - mostly snack options, but freshly prepared. It’s licensed too! We had two hours of unplugged fun and dinner for a family of six for under $100.

I highly appreciate that this establishment exists. Ive been to several boardgame cafes around the province, but what most impressed me about this one was how level the floors and tables were (a much appreciated thing when your board takes up a lot of table space.Our group combined 3 tables, and it was perfectly even and stable. It was also very clean, and the staff responsive.The food was pretty good and reasonably priced, we got the family platter deal which also played for 4 passes. They were nice enough to bill our 2 coffees in this deal since we didnt get 4 soft drinks. It also came with cotton candy, and I highly recommend the watermelon flavour.

This place was really great! George was super helpful! He explained a game to us and answered probably like 20 questions we had all night. Would be nice if the game selection was a little larger, but I am sure it will grow soon. Will definitely go back again, especially if they get more games!

First time going to a place like this and it was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a long time! I thought it was very impressive that the server George did everything. All around the prices for food and play were great and me and my friends will defiantly be coming back in the future :)

First time there today. Owner was the game instructor / bartender / server / cook extraordinare. Great time and good fun. Had a chance to try two new board games we hadnt played before. Got the family game pack (60$split between 4 and was well worth it. He was very attentive and patient. Definitely recommend anyone thinking of visiting to go have a look.

This is a great place to meet up with friends or for a date. Excellent atmosphere- you pay a flat fee to play any of the board games. The food and drinks are delicious. Awesome service as well and complimentary popcorn !

It is always fun to try new games because the staff are always there to explain the rules of each game. Me and my friends have been here many times and we love it! So much fun! Seriously, this is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with a small group of friends. They have a bunch of different types of games and continue to expand their collection, and the staff is willing to give recommendations or explain instructions in case youre unfamiliar with a game. The $5 game fee is worth it!There are also some different food options, whether youre just looking for a snack or want to feed a group, and lots of hold and cold drinks. Id definitely recommend this place to a friend!

Perfect night out. Comfortable setting, great snacks, friendly staff.George was well versed in any game that was chosen, and was more than happy to show how the games were played.I plan on making this my new go to outing for any occasion with friends or family.
