Mudsharks Coffee Bar - Cafe in Courtenay, Canada
Lovely experience and amazing coffee!
Love this coffee shop. Excellent coffee, good wholesome vegetarian food options, great vibe. We visit often!
We met a couple from Edm there & had a nice visit sharing some of lifesjourney.
Amazing food!! We had a glory bowl and a moroccan bowl. The moroccan bowl had a spicy tasty daal and chicken. The glory bowl was fully vegetarian and had a very unique taste to it. The veggies were fresh and just went really well together! The sauce just gave an amazing unique taste/feel to the entire bowl. Would recommend.
The bowls are terrible, very small servings and tasted bad. The service was great though.
Literally my favorite place in Courtenay. Really amazing fresh food, great options for gluten free and vegan and all of that for a really fair price. The people there are so nice, I never have to wait long and the location is perfect to meet friends! All in all a place that makes you feel welcome and happy :)
New location is awesome! Much bigger inside & great patio space out front. Fantastic Service as always & amazing coffees (awesome Barristas! The Cookies are to die for 😋 Highly recommend 🙂
Great food and service. I had a nice espresso and there are plenty of food options and whole bean coffee/accessories available. Thanks!
Nice little place. Recommended. Good selection, since is nice.
Friendly staff, really good with kids. Lots of seating, and good thing because it seems very popular. Also Matthew is rad.
Always great food and drinks at Mudsharks! Their new location is different than the previous one but the great vibe remains. Keep it up!
Third time I have had the glory bowl.Very disappointed in this one.Previous times I had plenty of rice and yams. This time I got enough rice for a two year old and same amount of yams.I really wanted it to be better than this very disappointing when I finally go out for lunch I get this
This place gives Vegan cuisine a bad name. We are eating plant based for years and $44 should buy you more than a bow of rice calling themselves a Mexican bowl and a bowl of spinach calling themselves something else ambitious. No variety, no spices, no flavour. What a joke, avoid them at all cost!
Great food and drinks, though as of July 2022 it seems to be closed due to building code violations.
New place looks great with new fresh vibes. Loved the service and coffee as usual. The new furniture is comfortable. I especially enjoyed sitting the small sacove by the front window. Ill be back soon. :)
Great beach vibe cafe; enjoyed the Hot Turmeric Elixir, quite strong, glad there are options if not having coffee. Definitely will be back when we are in the area!
We love, love, LOVE Mudsharks! Great coffee and amazing food. Their pumpkin cheesecake bar is a MUST TRY!
Best coffee ever had in the valleyShoutout to the Amazing staff
Amazing Coffee, Food and Human!!
Amazing customer service, great selection of tea. However I was severely disappointed with the nacho bowl.Barely any chili and whats with the hummus. I am sorry but Ive cooking for a while professionally.hummus does not go with nachos. The flavor profile was so confusing .It tasted like tahini, chili, processed rice from a box , chips and a bit of cheese.I understand it was busy I kinda wished I went elsewhere as it seemed like my order was rushed and or microwaved .
The best breakfast we’ve had in a cafe for ages. Highly recommend this place. Awesome menu selection & a really cool vibe. We will definitely be back.
Our order was sitting getting cold for 10 minutes before the server clued in that we were waiting for it. Paid $13 for a tiny bowl of cold rice with a spoonful of chilli.
Great coffee, friendly staff and kid friendly brought my twin 3 year olds no problem
Maybe a good thing we got kicked out of Cappuccino Grande. Down the street is Mudsharks. Large menu of food and drinks, case stuffed with bakery items. Breakfast bowls looked interesting. First time ordering an Americano but, my friend says its good. Large outdoor patio shared with another restaurant. Staff is polite. Id definitely come here again but, moving on north tomorrow. Ignore the owner of Cappuccino Grande, Comox/Courtenay is great. Everyone in this town is polite.
This place has taken a serious nose dive in the last 6 months. Prices, customer service and food quality. I’ve been coming to this place on and off for years. But in the last six months to a year this place has crashed and burned. Recently I went for coffee and food and the food looked like it was microwaved from yesterday. $8+ for americano misto. Enough said.
Super friendly staff, delicious food, yummy coffee. I felt the tables were a tad squished together. But over-all great environment & really cool aesthetic!
The best place up island for pretty much anything. THE DAHL IS SO GOOD ILL DRIVE ALL THE WAY FROM VIC TO HAVE SOME. super friendly staff, very lovely patio. Such a treat!
Great little shop with gluten free and vegan treats to enjoy, delicious coffee, coffee products to buy, and a cute eclectic and beachy environment. Would recommend, and would go back again! It’s in a nice area of town to walk down to some shops with your coffee too, and there is some good, covered outdoor seating.
Delicious and nutritious bowls and soups that were great for us for a lunch sans gluten, dairy and egg! Brought our little one and it was a friendly atmosphere.
Convenient coffee shop using 49th parallel beans and a ton of food and baked options including vegan and breakfast. Carrot lox bagel is a hit and the outdoor seating area with a fire is also great! Mocha was delicious!
I love this place! They really know their coffee, know how to make it, and they use well roasted and well sourced beans. Nice people too.
This place doesnt appear to enforce the mask mandate. Good food though! I had the banana buzz smoothie and a bagel breakfast sandwich and both were great. I realize that its challenging to make the employees at small coffee shops and restaurants enforce new rules so I sympathize with them but also its kind of annoying seeing people walk in an order or go to the bathroom without a mask on.
Came by for brunch the other day. The breakfast bowl was yummy!
If you like really strong thick coffee, then this is the place for you. However I am not a fan and sadly that was the best part of our breakfast! I do not for the life of me know how this place gets 4.5 stars!!! We ordered the breakfast bowls and they were disgusting! Not much food, but the eggs were literally like rubber!! I have no idea how one even gets eggs to go like that! Completely inedible. And what we did eat, made both my wife and I have horrible stomach cramping for about half an hour! Dont do it!
Decent lattes and coffee. Muffins were fairly greasy, and they ask diners to clear their own tables after dining - a pet peeve of mine, since it means no one ever gets around to cleaning the tables between visitors. Cute place, good people watching.
Because we are camping in the area we need places to eat where we can bring the dogs. If the food is healthy so much the better.Food was hot and tasty and served very quickly. We will likely be back again before we head for home.
Totally forgot to take the photo. It is a must visit coffee place for great selection of breakfast and lunch or even a pastry treats (besides coffee).Staff were super friendly and attentive. Their merchandise were super cute so we can’t help to pick up at shirt when having lunchWe had breakfast bagel , breakfast wrap, ham and Swiss croissant, veggie chili, iced latte, and m&m cookie there and everything were awesome!Big patio to enjoy your coffee and food in 😎
Best breakfast sandwich ever. We were visiting the area and I drove back the second day just to buy again for our breakfast. Apparently its the chefs great grandmothers recipe. Great coffee and other fabulous looking baked goods all made in-house too. Def. worth the stop.😋😋😋😋😋
Very tasty mocha and hot chocolate. Really dug the energy ball too!
I had the Buddha Bowl, and while it was delicious, I have a suggestion that I think would make it a 5 star, and I hope you agree. Have you thought of putting a sauce or dressing on it? It would elevate the flavor, in my opinion. I hope you at least think about my suggestion. Other than that, love the atmosphere & coffee and will return. And hopefully, you have given my suggestions some thought.
Had an early breakfast there yesterday morning with my friend. I had a latte, and I have to say it was a very good latte indeed! My friend and I had the avocado breakfast wrap. It was good, although on the Bland Side, could have used a sauce of some sort although it did come with a side of a tomato type of salsa, which I dont really feel added to it. It actually tasted like it came out of a can or jar.Im actually hoping it came out of a can or jar as I would feel as though I might be offending mudsharks if I found out that the tomato salsa is homemade. If thats the case they need to do a bit of work on it... all in all great coffee and a decent breakfast for a good price, especially if you get there before 9 a.m. as it was 50% off the meals.
Although Ive never had the coffees here, I often get varieties of the delicious bowls they offer. Glory and the Moroccan bowls are my favorite so far. So delicious. Without the need to get into great detail, I can assure a visit will not disappoint. The staff is warm, welcoming and friendly. The unique and comfortable atmosphere inside will certainly have you enjoying your visit.
Good coffee, non-dairy milks available, some vegan food menu items. Enjoyed my decaf oatmilk latte and vegan Reuben sandwich. (I didnt linger inside, not being entirely comfortable with the lack of ventilation and maskless patrons speaking loudly.)
Ive been working my way through the menu of this little local gem! I love all of vegan items! The portions are great, the online ordering system easy and efficient, and the Covid-19 friend pick up is appreciated... Oh and its delicious!!
50% of breakfast before 9 am! Mudsharks carries 49th Parallel and Discovery coffee beans. This is my go-to for 3rd wave beans. Plus, the staff is great and kindness is their culture ❤
Great coffee, hot chocolate, and baked goods. Amazing huge patio shared with the brewery next door. I wasnt there for meal so didnt try the food, but I was impressed by the amount of veggie options. Definitely a place to go back to.
Great lunch at Mudsharks... high quality fresh food served up fast and fresh. We had the Mexican bowl and the black bean burger and they were both delicious. The latte was beautiful and there’s both indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re in Courtenay and looking for a quick healthy bite check it out for sure.
Great coffee!! Also had the avocado breakfast wrap which was amazing. Very busy on a Sunday, but staff were friendly and efficient. Loved the “coffee house vibe” ..Dropped my coffee on the way out, and was offered a new one. Thanks!
Mudsharks has recently stepped up their vegan game in a big way, no longer are they known just for great coffee. They regularly have vegan treats on hand as well as starting a special vegan dinner menu as well as hosting special vegan dinner nights to go eat great food and meet vegans in the area in a rare opportunity to get together. Mudsharks spearheaded this out of nowhere and for the delicious food alone I will always be thankful. I am excited to go more often for date night with my lady and discover more great food and maybe meet some local vegans. Thanks mudsharks!
Great coffee, staff, and healthy food options.
