High-altitude destination for short mountain hikes with scenic views, plus a coffee shop at the top.
Tired from the city bustle in Baguio but dont want to venture too far from it? Mt. Kalugong in La Trinidad will tuck you with peace and tranquil sound of nature. You can stay for a picnic here or you can opt to dine in their cafe, they also offer overnight stays.
Breathtaking view of the valley of La Trinidad. Just be ready with liking some 15 minutes to reach the cafe.
Super relaxing and epic views! Walk isn’t long. I totally recommend visiting the cafe!!
Its a breath taking adventure! We went there by foot from BSU to the top of the Mountain! Huh!
If its not for the rain, everything should have been perfect..., but all in all I had a great time despite the heavy rain.. I enjoyed the site and the food at Kape-an was good.
So far, the best chill hike for me. ❤️
This is a great place to have forest bathing!! Food at Kape-an is so tasty.Fare is Php14.00 per person via jeep. If you opt to take taxi, it will be around 300+Entrance fee: Php100/pax
You need to hike a Little for you to have Good shots for photo. There is a place that you should climb In a rocky hills
We camped there for 1 night. The staff was quite rude. Its super cold and nice but I the attitude of the staff just ruined our day. Unhappy with my experience there.
Where you can see coral reef at the top of the mountain. This photos was taken way back 2017
Overall great experience, you could go here for a picnic and a small hike and experience nature. The cafe at the top serves great tasting coffee and food. Some precaution:The road going to the drop point is very very steep. Its a bit dangerous in the rocky parts as seen in the photo.
Its a ,very near the city to have a great walk with the family.... the way going up were almost cemented. Actually you can bring your car and its just a few meters to walk then you can reach the breath taking view of the La Trinidad valley... Wear something comfy shoes... the rocks are kinda pointed...
There are many changes and/or improvements since 2015. First major change is the entrance. It would be better if they give the visitors grand entrance. Entrance is so ordinary but im sure the management is planning on some improvements. Also, some cleaning/deforestation were done so there is a wider rock formation that can be explored. Oh dont forget the canteen, the food and drinks are good. I just hope they name one of their coffee "barako" or "kalinga brew" or anything that would show our culture. ♥️
It was quite a refreshing place. You have to pay 5 PHP for the comfort room tho. There is also a cafe inside wherein you can go after or before you roam the place. It only took 15 minutes for us to climb the hike.
Must be physically Fit to go up the climb
A quick getaway from the busy hustle and bustle of the city. Its very relaxing here, we dont want to leave 😅 food and drinks are sold in the store and cafe for those who didnt pack a picnic basket ❤️
Great for nature lovers. They should make a map on where is what, especially on how to get to the cafe cos we walked thru the rocks and its great for us but that is not for everyone. Theres another path thru a flight of stairs and we only found that out by exploring.
Definitely, well be back here the soonest. A place for people looking for small adventure and serenity. Simply amazing. Just one catch, hoping the management will look into the dogs at the entrance. Keep them away from people. They attacked my kid, fortunately I was there just in time.
Mt. Kalugong Eco Park is situated in La Trinidad, Benguet. Overlooking the famous strawberry farm. To get there you must have a well-conditioned vehicle in order to climb the steep road going to the park. It’s very scenic and full of trees. They also have rock formations and a cafe there.
A best place to visit in La Trinidad Benguet!I really love this place! You can see the beauty of nature, overlooking City. Best for the family, friends, events and venues for special occasions and recreational activities
If you need to refresh, if you want to inhale some good air, just come in this place. I love trees, i like the swing.
Heads up, if you are not the type of person whos not ready for some muddy situation its better to make a plan especially when you want to visit during the rainy season. The time the place is wet, checking the weather updates may help like when would the mud will dry or try to visit during sunny days or summer season. And please be more responsible for your trash.Hoping next visit may zipline sana, appreciate the dog napakaamo.
Its a good place where you can enjoy with your kids as it doesnt require you to hike for an hours but must be (very)extra careful because rocks are too sharp and there are deep openings underneath. If you cant be with your kids, better go alone. Your kids safety is the PRIORITY.
This place gives you a fresh state of mind and the view is amazing, this is a good mountain to climb for starters because in less than 30 mins, you will be able to climb the top and enjoy the view overlooking Benguet. The parking was not a problem since of the pandemic, there are not much tourist visiting so the place isnt too crowded. There is a picnic area to enjoy with your friends and family, bring food and enjoy their company. If you go around the trail from the picnic area, you will see a small coffee shop at the top where you can enjoy the scenery and coffee of Benguet. You have to come prepared to this place because the hike at one area is very rocky and you have to wear your hiking gear for extra safety. I did the mistake of not doing a bit stretching at first so I had knee injury. There is also an entrance fee that you need to pay upon entering and make sure that you have mask and face shield so you can get in. Bring plenty of water with you to rehydrate your body from all the walking and climbing. Once you reach the edge of the mountain, the view of the huge rock formation is also one of the famous spots for pictures that most climbers enjoy.
I simply love this place!I remember the first time I visited this, it was because of the coffee shop which was trending before. This time I wanted to explore the cultural village as I saw fantastic pictures from the social media. It did not fail to amaze me with the towering rocks to where you can climb and have a panoramic view of thr beautiful La Trinidad valley. If you are visiting Baguio, dont forget to includr this in your sidetrip list. Best time is during the sunrise or sunset. Currently, there are two cafes in the area or you may also bring your food (no corkage). This is perfect for team building activities and family gathering. They also offee accommodation that ranges from a cottage to a tent (you may also bring your tent).
This mountain in La Trinidad is one of the most scenic mountains in Benguet. It is also one of the easiest to climb to, following its neighbor, Mount Yangbew. This cultural village also houses accommodations, glamping sites, and a mountaintop café - Kape-an. It also gives a generous view of Benguet State University and the famous La Trinidad Strawberry Fields. The entrance fee to the village is P100 per head.
Nice place to visit in Baguio it is near to strawberry farm Latrinidad. You can see natural rock formations and nice over look of the la Trinidad .
Place is really quiet and peaceful, clean surroundings, fresh air, and perfect for having a family picnic. When youre going climbing on rocks, please be extra careful, there are no ropes or metal bars to cling and I do not recommend bringing children in there. Rocks are too sharp and there are deep openings underneath. Climb at your own risk.
A relaxing place to have a picnic with family or barkadas. They have their own food house(silogs, burgers, fishballsand cafe(drinks, cakes, pastabut you may bring your own food. It is wide and you have a great view of La Trinidad as you go on top of the rocks. Highly recommend if you want to have a bit of adventure with a slice of nature healing. They also do glamping and stay ins
It was a great place to unwind. There are also stores and cafe inside the village. The view is really relaxing and fascinating.
Great place to unwind and meditate while climbing the mountain and the rocks. Food is relatively ok but limited to cakes, beverage and 2 kinds of breakfast. View is awesome. However policies must be stricter to maintain cleanliness.
Great experience, you can almost touch the skies. Cozy coffee shop on top of the mountain. Good food and drinks.
Nice place to unwind our restless hearts and mind. If youre looking for some quiet place to relax and to find peace, comw here. The scent of pine needles and the cold breeze, it will comfort your weary heart. And by the way, the food in the cafe is... how do i describe it... hmm... exquisite, delicious and worth it.Just come and try it all.. 😁
A view of La Trinidad valley, rock formations, brewed coffee and local cakes! 😊
The view is spectacular and everyone there was nice.Entrance fee: 100 pesos per headI suggest to bring an umbrella or at least wear a hat, and definitely wear the right shoes for it. There is a little bit of rock climbing, you dont want a slippery shoes or sandals for that, and long pants or apply insect repellent.
Great short visit to Mt. Kalugong. A great way to spend an afternoon instead of going to John Hay or SM, its great to support local destinations. The rock formations are for the adventure seeking hikers as clearly this area is yet to be explored and mapped properly. But even for non hikers, its a place to visit and discover. Its a very steep road to get there and its only one way for vehicles. Better to walk up than drive, specially for non Baguio/mountain drivers. If you decide to bring a vehicle, make sure its a four wheel drive and honk on every corner.Walking up will be about 30 minutes from the main road and then another 20 minute hike up to the cafe. To explore the area give or take 45 minutes. Theres a registration before getting in, we paid Php for 6 adults and 3 kids. The local cafe called "Kalesa Jen E Mainom" has great coffee options and the cakes are homemade and delicious! The coffee space is inviting and they have boardgames. Definitely better than Starbucks. My mom and 80+ y/o aunt managed the 20 minute hike and my 3 y/o niece was not afraid of the heights. The best way to describe Mt. Kalugong is a maze of rocks that its difficult to figure where to hop in or walk in thru the formations but its worth it to see the sights! The fog made it magical too.
I love the place. Entrance/environmental fee is P100 per head, quite a bit pricey on my opinion. You can do glamping, go a the top of the rock formation. have a picnic under the nice cool shade of the pine trees.
This is my favorite place in La Trinidad, Benguet. Ive been here for three times already but Im still planning to go back again. What makes me come back is the Kape-an inside the Cultural Village. I can have a sip of my favorite coffee while munching on some home-made dessert made by their resident baker while enjoying the views. On top, you can see the strawberry farm, Benguet State University, and the downtown view of La Trinidad. You can also hop from rock to rock as you take pictures of the unique rock formations that Mt. Kalugong offers. ☺️
If you want to connect to Mother Nature , this place won’t disappoint. The trail will stretch as far as you want to explore. The rocky surfaces are sharp and can be challenging if u don’t have the proper footwear and attire. To those that complain about the litter and mess left behind by careless visitors may I suggest as a good citizen of the Earth to pick them up as you go along. 100 pesos is a fair entry price for maintenance of the park and for the custodians. After all who are called upon when incidents occur? Anyway apart from the cafe and awesome scenery this is one of the most beautiful spots of Baguio/Trinidad.
Over-all experience is OK. Regarding specifics...Going there: Dont bring your car, as the road going up there is so steep and its only for single cars.Features: ummm....nothing actually...just simple trek to rock formations and a camp site (shanty-looking cottages, swings, tentsthat I guess one can stay overnight.Fee: P100 PER HEAD!!! This I cant get over with because it doesnt justify with everything thats in here. They even ask you (well, voluntarily!to pay P5 for every use of their toilet.Recommendation: If you want to experience your friends Instagram stories then you are very welcome. But if you are someone who values trekking and wanted to experience "free" mountains, there are a lot of cheaper, free even, alternatives out there.
This place is this very refreshing and the air here is very fresh and has the scent of pine and you just have to pay 100 pesos to enter and you can stay there as long as you want
Recommended spot in Baguio especially for nature lovers who just want to have a nice quiet place not far from the city. Its not yet as crowded as other tourist destination which is great. There is also a coffee shop at the end of the short hike at which a majestic view overlying the famed strawberry farm is seen.On other hand, the short road going up its entrance and down is only a single lane so take this into account when going here.
The place is breathtaking but its sad since it has been a very famous attraction more and more visitors come here and althought you are required to pay an environmental fee some of the places on the rocky sides are fille with trash but all in all the view is nice. The photos youll take here are instragrammable! Theres also a cafe there where you could have some coffee specially for those who hike very early or other beverages to soothe you from a tiring walk.
I brought my wife and my son and they enjoyed the place next time we will try to have an ovenight camping,,, well as for me yeah the place is nice we had been up there for several times already as we had some of our customers who choose the place to have their pre nuptial shoot,,,
Anybody should not complain about the short hike because Mt. Kulugong has an amazing view. You can see BSU and the Strawberry Farm from above. The limestone formations are slippery when wet so be careful and wear proper shoes.
Great view of Baguio City!Easy trekking and lots of rocks for picture takingThere a coffee shop at the top of the mountain.Theres also an Entrace fee here before trekking the mountain. I think around 50-100 pesos.Road here is very steep. No recommended for novice drivers and riders. Motorcycle can make it through here barely. No underpowered bikes, or risk of falling along the way
Nice place theres a picnic like zone area and nice rock formation above and after a little walking and taking a picture in the top of tje rock formation, you can relax and sip a cup of coffee in the coffee shop there with the view of the town..
Went here around 6:30 and the gate is still closed. Had to call the caretaker for them to open the park. Entrance fee is 100 per person though the park doesn’t look like it is properly being taken care of. Waited until 8:45 for the cafe to open but it didn’t. Not very accessible too. Don’t come here early or you’ll wait for quite a while.
Very easy hike. Good view, nice and very relaxing place. Definitely a must see when you go to Baguio.
Wonderful View, very interesting rock formations at the top view point , serious hikers only for climbing on rocks. Coffeeshop has great selection of coffee and fresh cakes
