I was pleasantly surprised to find this little place in Lawton. The food was cooked to order. Its no-frills, no fuss, but you dont need them when the food is good. I ordered fried chicken, chicken dressing and gravy, and cabbage. It was all delicious. The chicken was cooked to order. The cabbage and dressing were served hot and were both delicious. My friend ordered the fried pork chop dinner and she said it was delicious as well. We both enjoyed it immensely, and would recommend it to anyone. We were both enjoying our food so much we forgot to take pictures. The hours are incorrect on Google-the young man in the restaurant said they are 11-6 Wednesday-Sunday.

Ome of the best places in town. Hands down by fat in my top 5 restaurants in town. A taste you cant get anywhere else. Oh and the peach cobbler is the best in town 💯💪

We ate inside, but looks like a popular Togo location! Friendly staff. Small but efficient menu. Appears to change daily. Few beverage choices. Classic home cooking! Cabbage was wonderfully sweet, mashed potatoes and gravy perfect, meatloaf and baked chicken amazing! Don’t miss out! Great stop while we were in town!

Me and my mom always eat here and the food and customer service is always the best

If you want some good ole southern food you need to stop by Mrs GG’s and get you a plate. She had the best soul food around and I recommend you try it.

My brother and I were in Lawton to shop at Sams. We went by the restaurant first and we decided to wait and come back. We wanted smothered pork chops but they were out by the time we got there, it was around 2pm. We got the fish, fried pork chops, black eye peas, cabbage and yams. The food was good and the portion size was good. I will be back next time just home we have some cornbread to eat with my cabbage.

Im on the cusp on raising or lowering my rating. The business owner is really nice... However they didnt have what I wanted so I changed my order. When I got home, I realized that there was a ton of hair cooked into the food I bought and when I called, they were closed and stated they would not open back up for a few days.My rating will go up or down depending on how they help resolve this when they open back up again. Until than, I am out $20 and have to grab dinner elsewhere.Update: I think this business closed down. Either way, I received no refund and could not eat the food so my rating went from a 3 stars to a 1 star.

I have eaten here on two separate occasions and even though they didn’t have everything we wanted it was replaced with something that taste just as awesome! I got their porkchop sandwich, potatoe salad, sweet potatoes and sweet potato pie one day, the other days it was fried chicken, potato salad, sweet potatoes and sweet potato pie! And today I’m coming for the banana pudding!! Everything is always on point so far!

The food is average at best! And they are truly over priced. We all want to support the small mom and pops type of business, in our local communities. But it seems as if they are trying to capitalize on the support.In no way, am I suggesting that food should be given away! But my goodness, their not a five star restaurant and their prices are way to high. The portion to cost ratio is off.

I love to support our local owned businesses and I have supported this business from the beginning.Today I went in to order four dinners they were out of almost all sides.I order one with Mac n cheese but when I checked the order when I got in the car there was no mac n cheese I went back in and was told they ran out but I was not given a choice to chose another side but was giving more cabbage.Also they need to post their prices because I was charged more than another family that also ordered four meals of the same but with dessert. If you want support you must be honest with people.The food was not seasoned very well.The pork chops was dripping with oil,the wings was drumettes(not seasoned well.Something is going wrong there not sure what but yall got to do better.

My husband and I came here to get our soul food fix but this is what our food looked like! They were out of most sides only thing they had was fries and this was at the beginning of them opening the store around 12 for lunch and already out of sides? Makes no sense. I asked for a chicken country steak and they gave me this without gravy! I was so upset me and my husband paid $28 dollars for this!!! Like $12 dollars each plate. Poor customer service and the food is not all that!

Ok this was my 2nd time trying this place. 1st time pork chops were over done, however when I called to inform she ( the owneecorrected the problem. 2nd time was today, the owner was not in, it was 4 customers inside. The only employee we saw looked at us without acknowledging us. We stood there for 10 minutes and left. Im sorry to say we will not be back.

I found this place here looking for southern food. I read the menu and my mouth watered. I called to place a to go order. The woman was Very warm and friendly. When I started to place my order she informed me that this online menu is not correct (They aren’t able to change it before you ask). I wanted the $12.99 special which is not an option but she gave me the special anyway.I wanted the sweet/spicy chicken but they don’t have it. Guess what!!! They made it for me, yes that’s right. I also had the greens ( it’s Sundayand THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Some of the best I’ve had and I have southern roots. The cabbage was absolutely perfect. Seasoned perfectly! The Mac and cheese is good. I’m not a pasta fan so my opinion isn’t the best with Mac and cheese but it was good. The chicken was wing meat 😀 and the sauce, delicious! The sauce was thick and sweet. But then....the heat. I ate two and needed a break. I also got the banana pudding, it was homemade and delicious.It was easy to find and a nice little place. Very comfortable and the entire staff were very friendly. 5 stars from me. Eat here and support the local business. Btw ....large portions.

The food was DELICIOUS! The wait was a tad-bit long. They were extremely generous and again. The food was DELICIOUS. A must try in my book. If not for the wait I would have given them a 5 star-rating.

Taste just like your at home. Sweet potatoes yummy! The dressing, just like grandmothers, dont forget about the perfect catfish plate cooked to perfection. One of the best restaurants in town

Very much southern cooking. I am from GA, so this place is a gem to me. Everything is home cooked and all meats are cooked to order. Mrs GG is a very sweet woman! The entire diner has an at home feel to it which makes the food taste even better.

I tried this place for the first time and I had a horrible experience. My cornbread was so stiff as if it was from the day before, the candied yams were not that great and my catfish was not easy to pull apart, the cabbage was decent.

First time at Mrs. GG-s, It was the most pleasant time. The food was great and you get plenty. Mrs. Virginia waa such a great host. See you again before I start my smoothies. Thank you Mrs. GG!

After reading other reviews, I was excited to try Mrs. GGs. Upon arriving, I noticed that both the establishment and parking lot was empty and I see why! I didnt receive the southern hospitality other reviewers received. Instead, it seemed as though the lady that took/cooked my order was tired and did not want to be bothered. Inquiring about the menu only seemed to make her attitude worse. My meal was subpar, pricey, and took quite a while. The cake was dry and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. I love supporting local businesses but definitely will not patronize this one again.

Ate here for the first time today and absolutely amazing and very filling. And she is so sweet as well. I will definitely be going back again.

My mama and I agreea that Mrs. GG cooks like my grandmother, and that is high praise indeed. To be totally honest, I must add that Mrs. GGs black-eyed peas are better than Grandmas. They are the stuff that Southern homesick cures are made of. Dont miss this from-scratch, made-fresh jewel. Just save me some!

Ms. Cynthia, the charming woman responsible for cooking and preparing my meal has a great personality and cooking skills to match. The meal was delicious; getting a fatty, medium size pork chop was disappointing for the money-but thats the owners role. This was more like a lunch plate instead of a dinner plate. Im not sure Ill return. NOTE: the menu loaded is not current/incorrect. They dont sell several items listed.

Great service, the staff will welcome you in with open arms and treat you just like family that they have known for years. You can sit down and enjoy your meal with lots of friendly conversation. Also dont forget some sweet tea....

I have fallen in love with Mrs.GGs Southern Cookin! Everything is so good. My tastebuds go to a heavenly place everytime I eat there. So yall need to stop playing around and go get you a plate. And her sweet potato pie slaps the tastebuds just right.

I’ve been in Lawton since May and when I first found this place I ate there every other day for about a month because of how good the food is.. I don’t go there as much now but I make sure I get a plate at least once a week. The ladies make you feel like family. Good laughs, good conversation, great food, and outstanding service! I promise you will not be disappointed when you choose to visit this establishment! Hands down the best soul food in Lawton OK. Second to none!

My only complaint about this business is that it aint open on mondays. When I tell you the cooks in this establishment can cook some food. I definitely recommend them. Its good ole soul food too.
