Mr. Hot Dog in Bay City

Just the way I remember it from 20 years ago. Vibe and flavor super consistent. Best Coney sauce ive had anywhere, and the fish is good too.

The food is always good, Ill drive from Saginaw to Bay City at least once a week for lunch.

Fun fast food fairly priced. I go for the rice pudding.

Mr Hot Dogs is always good. Dependable and consistent excellent taste. Ive been going there for about 35 years now and hope they give me another 30 years.

Boy, googles nosey, i was at Wendys, had a cup of chili, it was good. Have been to Mr. Hot Dogs many times, the food is very good, reasonably priced

Their service is always very great I love the rice pudding everything they make its simple and its good

Food is usually pretty good. Prices are getting a little crazy. Yes, its a little old school for this place to only accept cash. To all the people who have complained about that, I just want to say seriously, how hard is it to carry some money in your wallet?!

Wanted to get chicken dinner, but I dont eat dark meat. Was told I couldnt pick white meat only. BS is what that is. Forcing people to purchase an item they dont care for isnt right. I hope yall find my review helpful.

Great Hot Dogs but restaurant could use a remodeling job.

Mr. Hot dog is a long time Tri-city favorite. They serve real hot dogs, Koegels, and the sauce is excellent. Whenever we get into Bay City we like to grab 4 coneys and a large fry. The service is great and the staff is friendly.

Love the food. The manager or owner walks around being loudly rude to his employees and seems like a annoying place to work. Not very professional

Used to love the Coney dogs, but they dont taste the same. Quality of the dog is suspect. The prices have really gone up .

Really good hotdogs and other meals but sometimes theyre short on products. Dont go in expecting to always get what you want.

One of my favorite restaurants. Whenever Im working in bay city I go here to eat. Their double doubles are amazing. Coney dogs are OK but Im not a hotdog fan. The fish sandwich is amazing and the onion rings are great. Food is fresh and fast.

This is my favorite place to eat!!!...we used to live in the area but do not anymore....whenever we are even close to town we stop in every chance we can....

Mr. Hot Dog is a Bay City staple!! They only use the best...Kogels, of course. Their Coney, Fish/Chicken dinners are fabulous; not to mention the Steak Sandwiches, Double Doubles, Grilled Ham & Cheese, Fries and Absolutely, the Best Onion Rings!! The staff is always quick on their feet with a smile to share. If you go away hungry, thats your own fault!!

It was meh (to a degree)...Ive gone to Mr. Hotdog religiously for many of years (mostly visited the one on the south-end). Still sad that one is gone and we are stuck with this one.My 2 cents from the order I had tonight:- The smell of fried goodness as you walk in, no issues there.- Ordered the onion rings, those brought back memories and they were tasty...good job there.- The star of the place, the coney dogs (got the cheese coneysand they were meh to say the least. The chili looked and tasted different, little to no seasoning. Very little topping with the cheese. Hotdog was warm and it was totally a koegel dog. Still it was editable.- Cash only...really?! Quit being a cheapskate and get a Square or two. This makes me question other reviewers saying your dodging something.- Employees were rude and I can tell a toxic work environment when I see it.There has to be management/owner issues going on and they need to step it up on an employee level and quality control level. Probably wont go back till I have another heavy craving of coney dogs.

Theres only a cpl problems, 1Theres only 1 location now 2Theyre not open 7 days a week, lately even the days open vary. 3I cant fit more in my stomach at each visit. LOL 4Amazing Onion rings. 1Their secret sauce is heaven in your mouth & murder on white shirts. 😛❤🤪

Mr Hot Dog only survives because it’s probably the cheapest food in Bay City and been around a long time. I ate there today for the last time, there is a seriously nasty smell as soon as you walk in, but since their dining is still closed you luckily only have to endure it for a few minutes. I saw several people walk in and walk right back out because the dining room is closed, it’s ridiculous at this point. Also it’s 2021, my niece who sells Girl Scout cookies takes credit cards, cash only is seriously annoying. You’re not fooling me Mr Hot Dog, we all know that the only people still not taking credit cards are clearly doing so to cheat on their taxes. Oh and last but not least the reason I will not be visiting again is due to the violent, repeated bathroom incidents I had to endure for several hours after my meal. Sometimes just because a restaurant has been around a long time doesn’t make it a good choice.

The staff was nice and all, they need to wear hair and beard nets to ensure cleanliness....the food was terrible. Ordered 2 Coneys w chilli cheese 1 original light onion and small fry. Dogs were green flavorless fries had been refried which made them very greasy. Was disappointed I Dont live close by a Mr. hot dogs but not so much anymore since they suck.

We love this place and get takeout a lot. Last week we got fish dinners and coneys. The fries always were the best, but so disappointing.I do hope they go back to the others, please!

Just as yum today as 35 years ago. They do it simple, but they do it right. Can never go wrong with their Coneys, regular hot dog, and steak sandwich. How do you make a bun that soft? Must stop for anyone visiting Bay City

Cash only is the only issue, but it is worth grabbing some cash from the ATM. Definitely not gourmet. But good price and good food. Get the rice pudding. Its great

One of a kind stop in Bay City came recommended by a local, it didnt disappoint the cone dogs were wonderful loved the atmosphere. Make sure you bring cash its a cash only establishment but a great stop and a definite most stop for anyone in the area or passing through...

Great and reasonably priced fast food. There coney and fries are yummy! There is always a decent special on the sign too. Sometimes a steak sandwich or double double burgers. They have rice pudding and shakes that are good dessert options. The only drawback is there is no drive thru and they only accept cash.

Super fast and affordable.... saw a guy order up 20+ steak sandwiches... glad he was behind me... got in and out in less than 10 minutes... coney dogs are decent ... fish was excellent... onion rings stole the show... I would definitely recommend this place.... two thumbs up

My husband raved about this place, so I was excited to try it. The prices are incredible. The service was great. Food was hot and promptly handed to us. Establishment is dated, but clean. As for the food...it just wasnt for me. Not inedible, just not something Id eat again.

I like Mr. Hot dog. A Bay City institution. Nothing fancy. Very basic and limited menu but its fine with me. No computers or point of sale registers, just an order pad and pencil. Great weekly specials. If you want something fancy, you better go somewhere else. I have no problem with the food or employees.

The food was awesome as always, but the interior temperature was 92 degrees! An employee (dripping in sweatsaid it was even hotter inside yesterday at 99 degrees. Their AC is being rebuilt, so no end in sight. I really feel sorry for the 6 employees!

I went here for the first time today for lunch and the food was incredible! I ordered some hot dogs and onion rings and my order came out quickly! The food was hot and fresh and the staff were so nice! I will definitely come back here again in the future! The only thing that people need to be aware of is that Mr. Hot Dog only accepts cash so that is something to keep in mind before you go there! 😀👍❤️❤️❤️❤️

Kinda busy, but they move fast enough thats its not a problem. This was my first time going and I loved it. Totally will go again. The food is good and doesnt make me feel bad. I wish there was one closer to me. So if youre tired of the same old fast food, come here.

Last store in an old school chain in Bay City.classic Coney dogs, rings and giant shakes are a staple here. Fish and shrimp dinners are good value for price.(great during Lent. Interior is kind of dingy and dated, but I dont eat here for the ambiance. Open kitchen gives an interesting show once and a while. Nice treat to come here once and a while.
