Mexican eatery serving burritos, enchiladas & fajitas, plus margaritas in a casual, colorful space.
Friendly, fast service and really great food!
First time we have been here in a while. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices really arent too bad for a Mexican restaurant during these times. Good chips and salsa. Nice clean environment. Main dishes were great. Burrito Colorado was delicious. Recommended
It was excellent food. Not that expensive. Excellent service. First time here. Was treated for lunch.
A go-to for our Mexican food cravings. Food is reliably good and fresh. The owners are very personable and fun to interact with. Wide selection on the menu and reasonably priced, especially compared to other options in the area.
Their salsa is just the best around. Great food and nice people
The service was great and the servers were very welcoming, definitely great service. To me the food was quite bland though, I bought the carne asada dish and I feel there was no seasoning, the beans and rice were kind of lacking as well, but the way they cook up a jalapeño, that was delicious!!
Delicious food and big portions. Highly recommend this place.
Food was OK abit over priced atmosphere was nice service was good.
One of the best Mexican restaurants weve found. We love the food and the menu has something for everyone. The staff was very personable and attentive.
Edit: it’s been 2 months since I’ve started to frequent Mr. Jalapeño here in Bonney Lake. This restaurant is slowly tearing my life apart. My boyfriend has left me. I can no longer afford my car or house because I spend all my money here. I’ve had to quit my job because of my love for this restaurant. I will never love any other man other than Mr. Jalapeño himself. Someone send help.Used to frequent Mazatlan down the road- love the atmosphere there and I finally tried this place after a handful of recommendations. This is definitely my new go-to spot! The drinks, the food, and the service all make this place amazing. The restaurant itself was clean and newer, no ripped seats or sticky tables/menus. The chips and salsa were average, about what’d you expect at any Mexican restaurant. I ordered a classic margarita on the rocks and it was perfect- not too sweet but not too strong. The food is where this place stands out and earns its 5 stars- I ordered camarones a la crema- the crema sauce is hands down the best I’ve tasted. So rich and so much flavor. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and so tender. A huge plus for this restaurant is the vegetarian friendly refried beans made with vegetable oil instead of lard. No loss in flavor but one less of a worry for a pescatarian/vegetarian.My boyfriend ordered steak ranchero and was very happy with the cooking of the steak- it was nice and tender. He also loved my crema sauce and was stealing some for his tacos he was making. The last stand out of this restaurant are the tortillas- I order flour every time and they’re clearly homemade and delicious! You can eat them plain if you want. My SO alternates between flour and corn and says the same for the corn tortillas. All homemade and all delicious!Thank you Mr. Jalapeño- you are my new spot in Bonney Lake!
This place is just great. Friendly atmosphere, amazing service and the food is spectacular. Drinks are delicious as well!
Good price for the portions but the food is pretty bland.
Excellent service and great food. Actually affordable for area and portions are a good size. Id recommend a deep clean of the carpets but bathrooms and eating areas are sanitary.
Always fantastic service and delicious food every time we go! One of our go to favorite restaurants!
Worst experience ever. Food Id flavored terrible eithervits bland or its just wrong. If you have a simple request they dont accommodate.
The staff was great, very friendly and attentive. The food was just okay though- kind of bland in my opinion.
I hate leaving bad reviews...but here goes.My family and I (BIG family of 9), would frequent this establishment due to the great food and service. That was until about 6-7 weeks ago or so.Was 4 of us...myself, daughter, son and grandson. We noticed a newer waitress. She was not polite, but took order for drinks and when she brought them back she sat one of them partially on my sons shirt sleeve (he was wearing a hoodie). Well it fell over and dumped in my lap. Accidents happen, right?!She immediately started glaring at my son and speaking to him in spanish with a very harsh tone and shaking her head. Then she gets the (owner/manager?and it was obvious she blamed the situation on my son, making him burst into tears. He couldnt eat because he was so embarrassed and upset.Havent been back since. 💔😔
The service is super slow. Asked for mild salsa three times. Finally came with dinner. Hubby got the enchiladas. He said it tastes funny and cheese wasnt even melted. I got the bean and beef burrito. It was alright, nothing to brag about. The rice was blander then home cooked rice a Roni. Not going back agin
Incredible food! Their pollo ala crema is the best Ive ever had!
Fantastic! The food was really good but my gosh, the service was just phenomenal. Friendly, fast, and just the right attentiveness. 5 stars for sure.
Great food, great service, we go there all the time when we want Mexican food and margaritas. My favorite is the molcajete.
Stale chips, bland refried beans, couple bites in to our food we both didnt feel well, drinks and water tasted awful assuming it was the ice cubes tainting the drinks. First time there and last time. We did not finish our food or take any leftovers.
Clean, authentic, friendly staff, large platters, overall a good experience. However the food was a little lacking in the flavor dept. I would not recommend it to my friends, there are better options in the area.
The food is good and service is OK but could be improved. During our last visit we made several requests for things like silverware, napkins, and drink refills that fell through the cracks. Also, we arent thrilled that Mr. Jalapeño adds a "non cash fee" to every credit / debit card transaction. Over all though, Id still recommend Mr. Jalapeño for the good food and fun atmosphere. But, their customer service could use some improvement.
This is definitely our go-to for Mexican food here in Bonney lake. The food is great and the service has always been excellent. Always fresh and delicious, give the fajita burrito a go 🤤
My wife and I had lunch today at Mr. Jalapeno. We were greeted by a not so gracious host, of whom I assumed was Mr. Jalapeno. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. I know what mole is supposed to taste like and what I got was something that looked like mole but very sweet tasting. I was very disappointed! My wife ordered the crab enchiladas, and she was told not so graciously by Mr. Jalapeno that they did not have crab, and she would have to take shrimp instead. Well, she ordered the shrimp enchiladas and the green sauce that came with it had an odd unpleasing flavor to it.
The food was decent and the service was great. No real complaints, just a tad bland.
Good Tex-mex, large portions, and friendly staff. They give you bean dip with the chips and salsa and have two kinds of chili relleno the egg one is my favorite.
The chips were thin, bland, and cheap tasting, served with watery salsa, the entrees were just average, and they charge an undisclosed fee to use a credit card. The only sit-down restaurant Ive ever been to that does this. The staff seemed nice, but they were slow even before the dinner rush. I have no idea how they have the reviews they do, as it was a huge disappointment for me. I wont be going back.
They were clearly busy (Mothers day)but our waiter was very friendly despite that. Food was excellent. We were full and satisfied. Most definitely will go back.
Great little local Mexican restaurant. Strong margaritas 👌🏼 and delicious extra hot queso!
Everytime I come here the food is delicious! The service is outstanding and very friendly people each and everytime! Cant wait to go back!
This place is very attentive to all of thier patrons. Everytime a waiter or waitress walked buy they made sure we were ok. Ive never been to a place that has done this.10 star review
Their queso is amazing, and is honestly the only reason we go! The rest of their food that weve had is decent but nothing great.
First, this place charges when paying by card. Get cash before arriving. Theres an ATM in walking distance. My wife and I love the tortilla chips. The salsa slowly gets spicier the more you eat. The food is great with a wonderful atmosphere and a fun wait staff. It looks like theres not very many dishes that are spicy, but I dont like spicy food. Well be back again. Just dont know when.
Hosts and hostesses were very friendly and accommodating. Moved our party of 6 from a booth to a table for more room. Food was delicious as always.
This was fantastic Mexican food! 3 different dishes ordered tonight all of which were so tasty. The salsa was fabulous and tasted so fresh. They had lots of choices for kid meals. The staff was friendly and fun! This is our new favorite place.
Great food, even better service. De diez!
The good is always good and hot. There salsa is splendid and I love the family atmosphere. Its real and Ive been eating there for years Always cleanAnd the staff are the best.they always fast and prompt and friendly.
Always friendly and fast service with quality food.
Editing my original review from a year or so ago. Food quality has rapidly gone downhill, and service is a joke. Wont be coming back. Sad.
Went for lunch with a girlfriend. We felt forgotten. Food was good.
The service inside is great. The staff are so friendly and constantly making sure you have what you need.Edited: Husband and I have ordered carne asada burrito meals each time but it seems they don’t do the meals that come with rice and beans on the side, which is unfortunate. It’s just the burrito with a side of guacamole and sour cream. The carne asada burritos are tasty and a bit on the sweet side, but nothing amazing. The last time we ordered take out, the food tasted okay and the horchata tasted really watered down. When we called in our order two different times we asked for carne asada burrito meals and they never said that they don’t do that, they accepted our order. So we were a bit disappointed to open our food and just see the burrito. For $58 dollars, we got two carne asada burritos (no rice or beans on the side as they don’t do that it seems), two horchatas (watered down), and a side of pico. Usually with most Mexican restaurants we at least get the side of beans and rice especially for a price like that. So we’ve tried them a handful of times but I think we’ve mutually decided that for the price and taste of food we want to try elsewhere. Again, the food isn’t bad. But we don’t think it’s worth it.
Excellent service, equally excellent cuisine. They bring water without asking, and ensure you are fully satisfied from start to finish. The drinks are solid as well. They use real crab, instead of imitation. The dining area is well maintained and clean. And the staff are well groomed too. This restaurant offers one of the best dining experiences found in the entire Pacific Northwest, all things considered.
We got carry out and not only was the food great, but so was the service with paying for the order. When I brought it home I was pleasantly surprised by this hand written note, and the bag of tortilla chips we didn’t know came with the order. Highly recommend!
have been here several times with no problems and usually pretty good food. On this particular visit We ordered taco salad, only to find out that the beef was half cooked. Bad taste after only 1 bite.Terrible experience.
Proportions are well worth the price! Friendly service and really good at checking up on you. Tastes phenomenal.
Great service as well as food, first time eating here. It will not be our last. We ordered a third dinner just to have extra extra leftovers... First dine in meal since the Pandemic, thx for being open...
Their food is scrumptious, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Their salsa is perfect, as is their guacamole. Our favorite dishes are steak fajita burritos and chimichangas. Dining in their restaurant is always a great experience. They are attentive, friendly, food is hot and the restaurant is spotless. Their food, service and customer appreciation is why I support Mr. Jalepeno. We had a hand written thank you from last nights take out! So sweet!Thank you!Tim & Diane
Came across this family owned Mexican restaurant, if your looking for some authentic Tex Mex flavors this is your place, or at least the flavors we were accustomed to. Great wait staff, I would say the more you go there’s a great chance you’ll end up with new friends!
