Nice homely place

The place is nice from outside. Rooms have a bush African theme. The rooms are neat and spacious with lovely en-suite.The problem is the manager. The guy is very cold and have an attitude towards the guests. He doesnt greet and just hands you the keys without explaining about the place. The lady that i spoke to over the phone was lovely and welcoming. Upon checking in, this guy cold guy is helping us and you just feel like requesting a refund and go to another place.To top things off, he did not explain the hours for loadshedding or the fact that they didnt have water. I had been on the road the whole day and I needes to freshen up only to find that theres no water. When I enquired he just set there, not bothered and just said, "its a municipal problem".I asked them for their backup plan and they had none. They did not phone the munipality to bring water for them, no plan whatsoever. I was really upset.They later brought boiling water and asked me to wait until it cools off, then i can bath.Even later, the poor bartender came and gave us an explanation.The place is nice but the service is not good at all. In the morning, the lady in the day shift explained that the guy is just cold and apologized on his behalf. I dont think thats right when youre running a tourism business.

Unfortunately due to water and power interruption (beyond Mountain View Lodge controlmy experience was not positive. Suggest installing back-up power and water system. Would have been nice if facility made available water to at least flush toilets during interruption. All the best.

What a pleasant surprise. This establishment is well run. The efficiency is seen and felt from the moment you arrive. Rooms spotless and comfortable.The on site resturant is very good. Good menu and food well prepared and presented.

Good morning. I stayed there over the weekend. I really enjoyed my self my room was very clean. I was so impressed. Everything is clean and the yard look so nice and tidy. Even the warm welcome from the staff was so impressive. I wouldnt mind going back again. Keep up the good work Mountain View Lodge Volksrust.

The Supper was awful, the Rips I ordered was not properly cooked. The toilet had stains. The bed had clean white linen on top with an old creamy inner blanket. Yes they were smelling fresh and clean. The rest was OK.

If you want to experience tranquillity, this is the right place to be, howeve, be warned that this place is on the N11 route.

All you can eat dinner. Good delicious food, Friendly waitresses and barman.

It was very cold but there were heating and electric blankets available. The restaurant is lovely with plenty of choice for breakfast. Good service. The water pressure is all over the place though, so showering is a bit tricky but the water is hot.
