Lush parkland for the protection of native & exotic trees, with boardwalk trails & gardens.
Beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of parking and brand new visitor center.
Wonderful spot! Easy trails to walk on.
Most natural walks in forests and meadows .
Enjoyable walking. Lovely native plants and trees. So peaceful.
Loved spending an afternoon here, walked out to the marsh with friends, enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of nature, and got to enjoy watching the wildlife all over. The trails are perfectly marked and kept up while not detracting from the undisturbed vibe this area gives off! Highly recommend for a day out with family or friends or even a solitary hike.
Hidden marsh is wonderful, hemlock trail you definitely need some hiking boots/shoes for because its covered in roots and rocks. Few slight inclines.Wonderful place to just stroll around as well and see the names of all the different trees, sit by the small pond and just take in nature. Cant wait to go back and do the meadow trails and woodland trail. I also love all the Thomas Cole quotes on the trails.Lovely place, and no charge to enter.
A very beautiful place for nature lovers. There are a few long trails if you are looking for a decent hike, as well. The trail marks are a little confusing, but other than that this is a great place to visit.
Really pleased with the free admission
Lovely walking trail at the East Meadow and while the West Meadow area was dried out from the extremely dry summer, it was clear how lovely this place would be under different conditions. Recommend for gentle walking.
Beautiful spot to walk, see and learn about the mountain top.
I drove my electric bike inside and ate lunch at the brook. I got thrown out by the maintenance crew, but it was well worth it...The place is just so beautiful. Next time, Ill walk and skip lunch!
Amazing low key garden showcasing the flora from the Catskills. A must see for nature lovers.
Went here for a hike after we couldnt find parking for the falls. Actually turned out to be a really incredible place and we spent several hours here hiking around.
Visited in June, 2022. Quite lovely and natural. Good birding and photography possibilities. Trails could be a bit more well-marked. Not much help for mobility impaired. Very nice place to visit.
Loved the tree labeling system.
Well worth a visit. The place is well kept and ample information is available. The trails are well marked. Consider using a walking stick or stability poles because the woods are full of rocks and roots.
my favorite place in all hudson valley. truly magical in all aspects ✨
Very organized, clean and beautiful park, easy to medium trails
Beautiful nature walk with some light trails. Lots of tree adolescents. Relaxing.
Great quiet, clean place.
Saw a toad under the leaves! And a snake by the creek! Lovely :)
What an incredible find. Took the backroads to get over there (instead of the main bustling highway that is rte 23C 😄so the ride going over is incredible, too and the grounds over there are just gorgeous. So serene (we were the only ones thereand magical. And that was on a drizzly day before anything had bloomed! Cant wait to get back there in another few weeks!
Very muddy when we went recently so couldnt walk on some of the trails but the meadows were very pretty and our toddler enjoyed the visit too.
Great pace for a walk during which you can learn about the local plants and perhaps see some interesting birds. Well worth a visit.
Lovely place, and what a unique location! I came in May on a warm and sunny day and had a great time walking through the meadows and a few trails. I didnt take any pictures - the place was so beautiful that I didnt want to take my eyes off of anything to grab my phone.
A lovely experience, it was a beautiful place to visit, even on a rainy day. We really enjoyed the grounds and learning about the work they do.
This beautiful nature preserve is one of our favorite spots when we are in the area. While the recent intense rain had created a few muddy areas, the trails are well marked and easy to walk on with hiking shoes. The varied landscape makes it even more interesting. Many panels display interesting facts about the environment.
We loved this place after happening upon it! Amazing flowers everywhere we looked and a nice pond w/ bullfrogs, labyrinth, and hiking trails through different tree areas to a magical hidden marsh. Kids had fun, and I loved it too. Even a fairy garden. Several places to sit and take it all in too. Just be wary, no food allowed on premises so dont bring a picnic.
Gorgeous arboretum! We didnt see everything, however, what we did was gorgeous. A walk through the three rings woodland walk, a shaded stroll among beautiful trees, flowery shrubs and even a fairy village! We also walked around the west meadow with its picturesque Lily pond, sunny labyrinth, trees and wild flower meadow...Donation boxes by the parking lots and maps should not be ignored!
Found this place on a whim. I was thinking it was more than the little gardens in the front- I was wrong. There is so much more that expands beyond it. The maps are super helpful and this was a lovely find. Everything was green and beautiful and snippets of the mountains in the view was so lovely. If you like plants and different types of flowers and trees- I recommend it! A lovely experience in nature.
such a beautiful and relaxing place to walk around. we explored east & west meadows, and woodland walk and they were very nicely maintained and we all loved it!
Nice place forwalk with plenty of green area , small trail and flowers
Amazing place for hiking and family walk
Great place for an easy stroll through the woods. Well maintained trails.
We went in January, so we couldn’t see anything because everything was covered in snow. Nevertheless, the surrounding scenery and the trails were still enjoyable because there were barely people who visit, and you can explore by yourselves.
Very nice views and the grounds are so well done.
Real nice area to walk the trails nice easy going and a very pleasant atmosphere hope theyll continue to add informational signage 2 recognize more of the variety of trees and other plant life that is along the trails
This is a lovely place for an easy going hike! The trail to the meadow was peaceful and generally easy. I took my two young kids and they enjoyed the hike. The lovely trees provided plenty of cover from the heat. The little trails was so much fun to explore. The facilities were closed when we were there. So plan ahead in case you need it. The main area of Tannersville is around the corner so you can go here before or after lunch instead. Tons of wildlife when we were there. I highly recommend this place.
Beautiful. Nice trails to hike. Quiet and relaxing near the pond.
What a beautiful treasure hidden in the mountains. Very diverse arboretum. All different types of trails for the nature lover. If youre looking for a peaceful interesting place to roam, sit, relax, sketch, take photos, practice yoga, or Tai chi then you just may want to check it out.
Well preserved and maintained place. Make sure you visit the fairy garden and East Meadow. Talking is limited so come early.
A beautiful place to explore, have a picnic or propose to your partner! I was there this past weekend and it was the perfect spot for this proposal and engagement session! So much greenery and life and not too crowded. Only downside was the bathrooms being closed, but we are still in a pandemic so thats understandable!
Beautiful place. Well marked, well maintained trails. Quiet. And right up the road! If it was this beautiful on a cloudy damp snowless day, I am certain it is lovely any time of year.
This place was pretty cool, they had plants and atmospheres of all sorts here. I enjoyed it IV seen some plants there iv never seem before and it was pretty enjoyable here
Such a beautiful quiet place. Well kept grounds and beautiful flowers and trees.
Beautiful site. Wonderful tour with Executive Director Marc Wolf. Our garden club learned a great deal and all are looking forward to a return visit. Site exhibits natives and specimens. The spectacular new buildings constructed of wood harvested on site. Dont miss it!
Mountain Top Arboretum is a hidden gem of a place! I hate to put this review on here haha lol it’s definitely worth a visit during the summer. It’s a place not a lot of people know.. so please respect the wildlife there and the nature! P.S. we spotted a snake and a huge frog and also many butterflies!
Great hike even in the winter. Plenty of places to park and the roads are plowed and the bathrooms are open. The trails are not groomed, however there are a lot of signs to follow so you cannot get lost. It would be a good place to snowshoe right now.
Beautiful place to walk in any season. They have some fun activities for kids to do thats gets them excited about being outside I. Nature. The local library also has readings there once a month in the summer. Simply wonderful
This is a great underrated experience. The arboretum has a wide variety of plant life- anything from common pin oaks to unusual and rare species. There are plaques that give information on the plants, with a few that go into detail on the natural history of the Catskills. The arboretum was not crowded when I went (albiet it was a rainy Tuesday), and we could spend plenty of time admiring the care that goes in to keeping the plants trimmed and healthy. Overall, it is a great experience for someone who wants a quiet outdoor atmosphere to learn about plant life and natural history and conservation.
