Mountain Park Resort - in Creston, Canada
After a very long day, we wanted peace and quiet at our site. Apparently it was karaoke night and it went on until 11:30. Extremely loud and the last thing anyone wants to hear after a long day when youre trying to sleep. We were also told that we were speeding in the campsite???? Its posted 15km and we only ever went 13km. We never once went 15km as its tight in there! Of course, we are young, and the the individual who spoke at us came off so rude and actually quite hurtful. I was upset, my husband confused as he was so careful to drive under 15km! We left a day early. Bathrooms were nice and clean though, spaces were a nice size. Overall nice campsite. We wont come back though.
I had a wonderful stay here . The owners Todd and Dani are so kind and hospitable. They went out of their way to make sure I was safe and comfortable. It is a very fun place to stay with a stage for bands and playground for kids and a Little cantina to socialize. It is Near to a beautiful town with all amenities. Great place highly recommend.
The hosts were so friendly! Very welcoming and accommodating. Sites were good with privacy, good size, had power and water. Short hike to the river with great swimming spots (chilly for September but we still went lol.)Would definitely recommend staying here!
Very rude staff running place up front they make fun of people
After travelling all day stopped and we were immediately greeted with a smile. Offered a campsite within minutes and registered flawlessly without an issue. Definitely considering coming back for a family camping trip in order to enjoy the view for longer than one night.
I wanted to support this place as its local. Went into store and browsed for a bit before a young person came out of no where and told me where fitting room was, thats it. Then when I realized there was another room to look at I said something to young person working and got no response. Once at til, employee still says nothing until she wants my money and tells me total, thats it. I had to say thanks and have a nice day at which point employee barely says , you too!! Yes a nice place but far from friendly and welcoming.
Nice location, the park shows pride of ownership. Todd and Dani (ownersmade us feel welcome. Facilities ie shower washrooms clean. Some sites close to highway had little traffic noise in evening and early morning.D&K
Wonderful place to stay! The river is a nice hike down and is so beautiful. The cantina is a nice touch! And we can’t say enough good things about the new owners! They are doing a fantastic job, glad we stopped!
We stayed at Mountain Park Resort for 5 days/4 nights in early August 2022.Pros: New owners are very friendly and helpful, and it is obvious that they take pride in maintaining the campground well!! The general store is great. Lots of mature trees for shade. Bathrooms and showers are super clean!!!Cons: Highway noise is constant and definitely messes with sleep. Plus there was a nightly group who gathered at the Cantina to hang out, which is great, but they felt the need to be quite loud late into the evening. We never got to sleep before 11:00 and it was next to impossible to get our son to sleep earlier too, even with a white noise app on our phones and ear plugs. The campsites are very close together. Were more used to provincial park camping where you have some elbow room, so this was very different for us where you are packed in right next to someone else. That might not bother some people though. We were unfortunate in that several of our neighbors felt they needed to smoke both cigarettes and pot fairly constantly, so there was that smell almost all day long.
Great place to camp!! Wonderful atmosphere, owners are incredble. You will feel like family staying here.
The experience was like no other camp ground. From being personally directed to the camp site, to the loving environment provided by the staff and family, every detail of thier process has been meticulously planned to cater to the customer. When you visit dont forget to grab an ice cream cone(or something frothyand head down the trail for your own private river side experience; cool, clear and the highlight of your stay. The Mountain Park Resort, Satisfaction guaranteed
This place is awesome!!! Great campsites and the staff makes you feel as if you were family!! Will definitely be bringing the family for years to come as long as nothing changes and this place stays deadly !!
This place is amazing! Great staff that is super helpful!!
Only stayed for a night on a couple of occasions. Bathrooms and showers were very spacious, clean, and free. Sites were nice and secluded feeling due to trees. Firewood was available at no cost. Was near highway but set back enough to not be bothered by it. I would come back again.
GREAT STAFF! UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT THIS PLACE IS EVEN BETTER. Clean and spotless sites. Washrooms are 24hrs clean and with HOT water all the time. Staff goes above and beyond! I needed to fix my hitch and they came and help me in no time. Firepits are great and the best firewood in bc is found here. The sound of the river flowing made our 3 days escape from Calgary wonderful!
Awesome campground and owners. Highly recommended! It was our first time here and had a very good experience! Management is great, helpful and goes the extra mile to help you with anything you need. Great and cheap firewood, cute front store, well kept and clean washrooms, etc. What else can you ask, they had everything figured out here. Will recommend and come back for sure! Keep up the good work guys!
Friendliest couple owns this quaint place, they treated us like their guests. Park suited us just fine when we needed to pitch our tent and shower. We were encouraged to look around and select our site before paying. Mainly serviced sites for RVs with lots of trees. We chose a spacious grassy site without electricity. The water is drinkable, and there is free WiFi. The showers are included with site rental. Washrooms are clean and well maintained. It is beside the highway, so you will hear the white noise of traffic, you will also hear the beautiful ravine and the birds. The park was quite full, yet quiet. It had a real community feel. The convenience store has the basics you may need, and ice cream! Overall price was perfect and it worked out for us.
Great store, excellent sales clerk. Very tidy camp ground. I will return
John and Pam are by far the most fantastic campground host’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing… a beautiful campground on the goat river. Nice spots, clean and warm facilities.. the cheapest firewood prices hands down.. we truly love this place and will come back as often as we can:)❤️
If you are going to pick an RV park this would be the one to go too. Its nestled in nature and it is the one that makes you feel the most like you are camping in the great outdoors. On site convienance store and trails close by .
Had a great experience there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean washrooms and showers.
We loved our stay. The river walk is a gem and I swear there are undiscovered prehistoric tracks in the rocks. Lots of outdoor games, community bonfire, free showers, cute little store snd super friendly people.
Nice, very well maintained campground. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, right along the highway. Make sure you ask for a site that will give you constant access to your hitch, or you may be boxed in.
We had a terrible experience. Tent camping, we were placed between two fifth-wheel campers. one looked to be a holiday spot, semi-long term camper who was kind and courteous. the second who is in lot 36, seems to live there. no signs of life until 7pm when they put on a show of some kind on the TV....speakers blaring. this continued all night. did not sleep a bit. when confronted to please turn it down or shut it off. at the very least close their windows. they complained that we were even present camping there. refused to shut off their noisy tv. we promptly packed up and left at 5am. they had an old couch and mattress out front of their camper as well. Grey and black water hoses seemed to just be hanging over the hill behind the camper. 10/10 will never camp there again. not to say the attendants were not kind, but the fact they allowed this behavior form a long term resident is appalling.
Peace and tranquility! If it is what you are looking for here it is. Beautiful setting, Goat River runs below, wonderful hard working and helpful staff. Bathrooms and showers are clean! Convenience store and laundry facilities available. Close to Creston, BC.
Very friendly, fun campground, clean everything you need....Pam and John are amazing people and do everything to make your stay awesome we are year round this year!!!
The managment and staff are super friendly and makes us feel welcome! Love the campsite. Showers and washrooms are clean. The best campsite in creston.
I did not stay here but was curious as to what it looked like. Super neat and clean. Excellent access to a beautiful spot on the goat river.
This was a wonderful campground, one of our better camping experiences. Beautiful sites along the river rapids, super clean bathrooms with hot showers, nice hiking trail down to the river. The owners were fantastic and really went out of their way to make sure its a friendly, fun place to stay. Loved the cantina - a great chance to meet and chat with the other campers.
Clean, friendly, quiet and beautiful. While it is right off the highway it feels like you have entered a camping oasis. I cant wait to go again!
You truly cant beat this location! We had a site (tentingbacking onto the river below, and fell asleep to the sound of the rushing water every night. Occasionally, there was a train that passed through in the middle of the night, and the sound echoed through the valley evidently. However, the beauty far surpassed the sound of the train (and highway), and we absolutely fell in love with Creston.Clean sites, washrooms and campground. The staff were phenomenal, and even deliver firewood to your site when ordered.Wed highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
I really wish I had more time to stick around this campground. Pam and the staff are so friendly, and the facilities are perfect. Great spot on the river. Family spot for sure.
This was an awesome spot to stay. My only complaint is that we didn’t have time to stay longer. So many extras!!! Perfectly chopped and season wood with kindling and matches. Emmaculately clean campsites. Ashtrays for smokers, recycling bins and garbage cans in various locations, friendly, helpful staff and they even loaned us an adapter for power. Not to mention very quiet, except for highway noise (which is every camping spot we found). Thanks for a great experience. Oh yah they even watered the roads so it wouldn’t be too dusty or dry.
Im sad to say our experience was not like that of others. We reserved the cabin for 3 nights. The water did not work at first and then did not smell right. The cabin was not finished and the area was not well kept near by, and is situated right next to the highway and a busy sawmill that makes it next to impossible to even sit outside and have a conversation with family. We did not feel comfortable letting our kids go far as the park (which was not muchwas far from the cabin. I wish we were given more notice about this all, as we would never have paid for 3 nights and last after one tough sleep. The staff that was there at the time was friendly; however, our experience with the owner was not the same.
I have visited this campground twice and I definitely intend to return. I booked in four days and extended three times. Beautiful treed campground, much like being in a forest with cedar, pine, larch etc. I sat in my chair at the back of my trailer and looked down to the river. Good services (including laundry). Although every site has a fire pit, you can sit at a fire in front of the “cantina”, visit with other campers and watch tv if you like. This campground is very clean. I found the staff to be very friendly and diligent. I really enjoy the Creston area, it is much more relaxed than a typical tourist area.
We are repeat campers. Go out of owr way to stay here. People are great, washrooms are clean, prices are reasonable, quiet and can not say enough good stuff. Very well worth the stop.
Great! John and Mike take good care of you and the property. Sites are clean. Firewood is delivered upon payment and you get a wheelbarrow full. No noisy or crowded times yet but they have an event May longweekend that will be both. We like it here.
After a 10hr drive we drove into the campground and was stopped by the super welcoming manager who invited us to the potluck that was under way. It was delicious with nice peeps. All we had to bring was our own plate! There was also a guitar player singing some good old classic rock. Very happy😀
Excellent campground, the sites were very clean, The owners are wonderful and very very helpful the washrooms and showers were spotless. A very nice place will definitely visit them again. Rob Greenwood, Montrose BC
We stayed here last minute we werent sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Site were large and treed full with full hookups, the staff was very friendly and helpful nice little store with lots to offer and the facilities very very clean. We will definitely be back :)
John and Pat were so hospitable and treated you like family. They always greeted you with smiles. Campsites were kept clean and tidy and firewood was delivered to your site. Best firewood in BC. We will definitely be back. 5 stars isnt enough to rate this campground.
Everyone here is so nice!In addition to providing firewood, they actually deliver it to your site with kindling, newspaper and matches! Thats nice to receive after a long drive and whatever else. The showers are clean, there are hiking trails, and a scenic river to enjoy. I would recommend Mountain Park Resort to anyone passing through.
Very clean and staff was excellent! They have live music on the weekends and there is a hike down to the creek close by. Very affordable and we will go back again for sure!
Friendly staff, great rates and lots of firewood in a bundle, plus it comes with paper and matches. No roots in the tent areas. Was on my motorcycle and found the amenities perfect for someone who cant take much with them.
Nice shady spots. Cheap fire wood. Highway is noisy though. They also have a stage but the 2 times I stayed, there was no entertainment and other than the highway it was very quiet.
Wonderfully welcoming and warm RV park with happy, smiling, helpful and kind hosts. We have only been here a day and already I know I would be recommending this establishment to others. They have a very generous wood amount delivered for only $9... enough for several evenings of relaxing fires. The bathrooms are extremely clean, and there is even two dishewashing centres for use... great for tenting. Our children love the playground and the nearby trails.Trash and recycling stations are placed at convenient locations throughout the park, and each site is lighted with a solar powered night-light.The extended stay option is very economical and this is the reason we came to them, but we would come back for the hospitality. Thanks for making us feel at home!I left it at four stars only because of the Harley Davidson motorcycles that roar past now and again above us on the highway, not the RV parks fault... just location. But as with all nice things, we must overlook some of the blemishes.
LOUD! LOUD! LOUD! The new Owners like to party it up at the canteen until 1am. If you are expecting a nice relaxing quiet campground, keep moving on. There are cigarette butts all over the place including in the childrens play area. There is guitar band practice every night starting at 10:30pm. The facilities are cleaned only once a day. While the staff is friendly, this place is just not worth it if you are wanting to sleep at night. Go elsewhere. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone.
This is a beautiful and peaceful campground. The staff are friendly and accommodating, everything is well maintained, and its very quiet at night. Campsites are on a bluff overlooking a river, and theres a hiking trail down to the river through the woods. The nicest place weve stayed in Canada.
Great place. Owners are super friendly and helpful. John guided us in to our huge spot and gave us some ideas for a hike. Had a fire because they had gone to the trouble to get campfire permits for the campground. Some highway noise but not enough to cause any problems. No hesitiation in recommending this site if you are in the area. Washrooms are super clean and even stocked with items like shower caps, razors shampoo etc etc ... very thoughtful. We stayed here in a 36 foot 5th wheel. Tight to maneuver in bit did it fine with Johns guidance. Very large sites.
The best kept place on my second tour in Canada with a RV. Washroom, service, place, office, all the best you can get. Hot shower with no extra charge, Soap, shampoo, even tooth-brush, cream and shaver are offered with no extra charge. All people are very friendly and very helpful. The spaces are cleaned right after a RV is leaving. It is just the best place I have ever been.
