Cozy diner offering pan pizza, sandwiches & housemade baked goods such as bear claws & popovers.
Delicious pastries, and a friendly staff!
Really pleased with community based business. Great coffee, excellent fresh pastries, and breakfast menu. Quiet, clean, friendly- we loved our visit here....
Loved their scrambled eggs. It was so perfectly cooked and no typical smell of raw egg. They had the best in-house bread.
Worst restaurant experience ever. The owner of this place is incredibly mean and rude. Horrible service. I highly recommend avoiding this place.
Lovely place for brunch, outdoor tables when the weather is nice, a lovely view of The Eddys mountains, excellent selection of pastry, huevos ranchero, espresso drinks too.
Delicious food. Biscuits and gravy. Breakfast bowl with quinoa black beans mushrooms ect. Was amazing.
Wonderful breakfast... great baked goods.
Good coffee, great place to sit in the AM and chillax.Good pastries too!
Tiny local favorite serving AMAZING homestyle breakfast, coffee and pastries. The savory eggs Benedict was one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had.
Lovely. Yummy. Short walk from the Inn in which we stayed while visiting area. Good coffee, peppermint tea, scones! and breakfast menu.
Great little coffee shop! The lemon blueberry Danish was perfection with light flakey layers, creamy lemon curd and blueberries. I really enjoyed the treat. The ham and cheese croissant and our coffees were also very good.
Amazing coffee and pastry, super friendly staff, beautiful environment . Love it, dont miss the latte.
The bunts are decent. The younger staff and the front desk make you feel welcome. The prices are decent for cali prices however, the weed should have 0 seeds and the flavor should be astonishing. Oregon is less than an hour away and they are consistant on those points. The staff is the reson we come back.
I just had the best cinnamon roll of my life. Here’s a story I wrote about it:A bold, curious hunk of crusty bread and a beautiful, delicate little cake met in the moonlight and consummated a child. This child was part bread and cake, forbidden by the bakery elders. As honor dictated, the bread took its own life with a sharpened bread knife. The cake returns with its child each year to the spot where she met the child’s father. One year on that spot the child looked up, and a comet streaked across the moonlit sky. Glitter fell from the comet and became a cinnamon glaze that wrapped around the child. The moon shed a single tear that drizzled over the child’s back, becoming an immaculate cream cheese frosting. The mother wept with joy for her child had become something new and beautiful, a cinnamon roll from Mt Shasta Pastry.
Cute little place. The staff was very friendly. Iced mocha (with soy milkand iced latte were decent. The French toast was delicious.
Very limited menu. Only a couple of cookies and typical pastry items no better than Safeway. Slow service. Don’t waste your time.
Amazing food and pastries. The tomato pesto croissant, the oatmeal and the pumpkin loaf were all tasty and skillfully crafted! They even sliced our loaf for us.
Out of towners stopping in for breakfast after a day on the mountain yesterday. This was delicious. Strong fresh coffee friendly staff we even snagged a table outside in the sun. The food was the BEST we ate every bite and we arent breakfast people! Thank you for a great ending to our trip!
Such a cute little shop. Great pastries, very yummy breakfast food. Staff were extremely helpful and had wonderful attitudes. Will be returning!
During the pandemic everything is take out. The staff were friendly, the bakery was clean and everyone was properly socially distanced and everyone was wearing masks. I ordered the coffee cake which is GIGANTIC. It was a little in the dry side but I still ate it all. My friend and I ordered the tomato pesto croissant which we both highly recommend because this was a savory delight. I ordered the veggie sausage and it’s delicious. My friend ordered the blueberry lemon scone and she quite enjoyed it. If you’re in town, this is a great place to stop by and get some baked goods and a nice lunch!
Holy Smokes! So dang good. Absolutely perfect Hollandaise over gorgeous poached eggs. Delicious French Toast. Chef has got it nailed for sure. If you are in the area, its totally worth a stop.
Arrived this morning at opening. Stale looking leftover pastry. Bear claws, croissants, and others not ready at 7? 2nd time I have gone there everything looks old or burned.quiche was burnt and aweful
Great family place with excellent coffee and food. Lots of choices. I recommend the breakfast burrito or a ham cheese croissant. Friendly service
This place is pure JOY. Their breakfast burritos are amazing and their cinnamon rolls (only available Saturdayare out of this world. Their biscuits and gravy are the best Ive had on the West Coast. What I love the most are the people that work there. Everyone is so nice, so sweet, and really makes for the perfect experience.
This cute little hole in the wall has some incredible food. I had their breakfast burrito and I must say that all of the flavors were perfectly matched. This is the best breakfast burrito Ive ever eaten. Ive already vowed to visit this city again just to have another one! If you visit Mt. Shasta City, you MUST add this to your list of places to visit!
Pastries are great. But there were minimal accomodations for Covid prevention. I felt uncomfortable while checking out because of all the unmasked people preparing food and unmasked patrons hanging around by the register.
Yummy pastries with wide variety of selection, great menu for breakfast items, great people working there, engaged owner. What more could you ask of an outstanding local business?
I usually don’t write much reviews, just lazy, but this place was fabulous I felt it would be a good time to break this “not giving review thingy”.We stayed in mount Shasta for 3 days n tried around 5 different restaurants n non of the place comes even close to this one.Breakfast, pastries, coffee n everything was absolutely aMazing n it become my new standard for a good breakfast place now.Highly recommend to try it out. Especially their pancakes!
Register girl was rude (dark hair), it says Petes coffee, but clearly isnt. Its watered down and awful. The staff has no idea what French Vanilla means (yes they have Vanilla and Hazelnut they seriously havent been taught). Im not sure why they offer coffee menus they dont understand. The pastries are cheap and poorly made junk. Nothing special at all. Really cant get past how awful the staff was. Seating is limited with the virus, but terrible. Uncomfortable, old chairs and tables with no umbrella and unstable legs. Avoid this place at all cost. I understand its a small downtown with limited options, but just find something else. They really dont deserve to have a business or be operational at all.
I stopped in looking specifically for pancakes, blueberry to be exact. The woman behind the counter asked the chef if he had bluberries and he said yes. The pancakes were delicious!!! The right amount of floatiness, blueberries were scrumptious, a little crunch on the edges. They were perfect, the scrambled eggs were delicious as well. I will definitely go back when I am in Mt Shasta again!!! Sitting outside, the meal was perfect.
I returned here several times during my one week vacation in Shasta. Their protein bowl, pancakes and french toast are absolutely delicious. Love their coffee. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend!
I am disgusted. Will not be eating here again. Filing a harassment form with the BBB and the attorney general on the owner for the way he and his employees handle the mask situation. They are extremely rude to those who are excempt from wearing one for very valid health conditions. Very disappointed in the way they handled it, especially the owner. Practicing kindness and understanding in these times is very important and matters more than anything.
Good food, friendly staff. We ordered a few brunch items and sat outside with out dog. Eggs Benedict was fine. California scramble and egg and potato frittata was good. The frittata had a small salsa side which was really good. They serve Peets coffee which is a plus. Didnt get to try any of the pastries but the looked pretty good.
Great pastries and cookies. Coffee is very good, and food is excellent. The protein bowl was perfect. Add the 7 grain toast, and I could move in.
Great local place with good homemade breakfast. Fits the area’s atmosphere. Busy with locals. A great sign. The seasonal berry pastry was my favorite.
Better than ever, and I’ve been coming here for years. The California Scramble - why eat anything else for breakfast? Service always careful and pleasant but not necessarily fast, because the place is so popular. A local gem.
Very good breakfast. Nice staff. Clean bathroom. A bit too expensive. French toast was excellent, with real maple syrup too! Sautéed veggies were way too salty.
Normally I would give them a 5 star. But today my husband went in to buy pastries for breakfast for his family who are visiting. He wanted 4 of a certain item, of which there were 8 to 10 in the case (plus other items). The young woman told him he could not buy that many because they need to leave some for other people. 10-4=6. Hmm. So they missed out on a big sale and a big tip.
What a fortunate find! Terrific omelet, great strawberry and cream scone, very nice people, quick service, and the SF Chronicle to read while sitting outside! All the 19 other pastries looked delectable too. Highest recommendation.
Great atmosphere. We had the Quiche and egg topper with veggies and the great Peets coffee ☕we are from the bayarea so we really appreciated our bayarea coffee!! The food was Super good great pastries as well.
Didnt buy anything.I slept in my car in front of the shop to get a headstart on a hike the next day. The owner or manager was very rude tapping on my glass at 6:50am telling me I had to leave from my legal parking spot. I would have happily moved since I was hiking anyways but his tone was very offputting and rude.
Went here twice for breakfast while on a ski trip at the Shasta Ski Park. Not only do they have a great breakfast variety but their chef is amazing. Service is also 10/10. Highly recommend paying this place a visit.
Dont go here because I dont want you to take my seat. You can get a nice homemade breakfast here- some homemade eggs benedict, or biscuits and gravy- almost anything, but it is always fun and I love these people. A lot of baked goods to choose from but leave some for other people.
Love the bear claws especially. Good hot breakfast plates. Popular with us locals. Entrance has an airlock, which is a big plus in the winter. In summer the two sidewalk tables are nice. Points for being open early in the morning, and on Sundays.
Amazing breakfast potatoes, the tomato pesto croissant was delicious, but the apricot turnover had too much almond extract in it. But a great value overall!
Visiting Mt. Shasta Pastry has become a much anticipated part of our Friday morning routine. The baked goods are fantastic--I love their scones! We often split a breakfast special and it is still a generous portion. Best biscuits and gravy around. The staff is always nice and they serve Petes coffee.
Food was delicious and the service was fast. I had the California scramble which was wonderful. Friendly staff and pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Its a little on the spendy side for me, but it was well worth it. The pastries look great.
Good service, good coffee, good food. California scramble is great, as are the pastries. They also have day old pastries which are a bargain, still perfectly yummy. Great start before a day on the mountain.
Pastries were excellent as were the California scramble. We highly recommend this place for adults and children. Service was fast. Not a lot of tables so be prepared to improvise. Tea and mochas were also excellent.
Ive been going to the Mt. Shasta Pastry since it opened in August of 2009. Ive gone on an average three times a week. I usually get a half caesar and a soup, or sometimes the veggie pizza. Gourmet yet healthy.... Sometimes I get the tuna melt that comes with homemade bread....which is the bomb. And more recently their cinnamon popovers.
