Mount Rubidoux Park in Riverside
Description
Privilege
First time going and we love it..
What a awesome hike, mild, definitely a lot of sun! Being a hat and water. Amazing view. Right next to down town. The nearby airport also makes for some exciting views when airplanes decide to sweep the cliff side coming in to land. Definitely plan to make this trek again at sunset!
MoreA fairly easy hike thats accessible to just about every age. Offers a wonderful view of Riverside proper, as well as north into Jurupa Valley. There are a surprising number of structures at the top to visit and walk among, which adds a bonus for making it to the top. Parking can be a little tricky, especially on busy days, but it is definitely worth a visit.
MoreThe sunset is so mesmerizing. Being able to overlook your own town is a great reminder of how lucky we all are.
MoreI drive down from Victorville to hike mt rubidoux, great views, great trails, peace of mind.
MoreI hike here often, they have a variety of trails, some simple and some more difficult. Mostly paved. I love the atmosphere and view from the top. Awesome!
MoreThis park is seriously overwhelmingly beautiful I had so much fun hiking up here. If my dogs were still alive Im sure they would have loved it just as much as I did. Highly highly recommend it.
MoreNice hike, beautiful view. There are a couple different options on the trail (easier and longer, or harder and shorter), and several off-trail options for the fit and the brave. I saw a scorpion on the trail once, so be careful.
MoreBest experience ever. This mountain has great trails. Make sure your shoes have traction when you incline
MoreIt’s a good place to go for a hike. I have been doing the mountain since 2013. Yesterday, there was a crack head creeping me and my friend out, but other than that I never had any issues; just be aware of your surroundings.
MoreAwesome hike! Loved the views.
Excellent for do exercise.. beautiful place
The walk is fantastic, and if you feel tired, there are benches to sit and rest. The top shows some beautiful views. Lots of people walk and some jog. Always bring water and wear good tennis shoes.
MoreThe views are fantastic. Im not in great physical shape, but I was able to make my way (slowlyup and enjoyed the scenic overview of the whole area. There isnt much shade, though, so make sure to take care of that and hydration.
MoreA great time is always had at Mt. Rubidoux. Go with family, or friends and chat all the way up, and down the mountain; or take a solo trip and enjoy the beautiful views of Riverside, from every side of the mountain. The natural landscape, and small animals are also great to observe. Its very peaceful, and the other people are usually very kind. Its about three miles on a paved pathway. Go to the left, and take a steeper climb, for to the right for an easy ascension. Neither path is difficult. There are also unpaved dirt paths - take those at your own risk. My advice is to park at Bonaminio Park, wear sunscreen, bring water, and enjoy. Its a great workout, fast or slow.
MoreGreat hiking with trails for all levels of fitness. Plenty of places to rest along the beginner trails as well. Pet friendly 🐶 Be sure to start early and bring water. These trails have great views of Riverside and beyond, but the shade is in short supply. So, be sure to wear sun protection as well 👍🌞☀
MoreWeather said 73, top of the mountain felt more like 87 😅 First time hiking it today and I feel amazing yet so tired. Stroller friendly path to the top and wonderful views all around. Wear proper hiking/running shoes and sunscreen.
MoreAlways a great walk. Some parts can get a little steep but it’s all mostly paved and people bring strollers and dogs on leashes up all the time. Easier routes that are longer are available on one side while a steeper short route is offered too.
MoreIts a 2.7 mile hike up to the top..The sunset view is excellentBring some water & enjoy the climb..
MoreMount rubidoux is a great place to get a good hike in and also its a great place to meditate and pray when you get to the top. Highly recommend this hike.
MoreI have been going to mount rubidoux for the past year, and just by walking up and down the mountain. I have lost 25 pounds for everyone who is trying do it a few times a week. It is worth it. The view in night is amazing and the sun rise in the morning is beautiful.
MoreI found it easy to do, well, this is for a person that rarely exercises. I will do it again for sure! Also, great thing, I was able to find parking quick.
MoreAlways another go to hike. Easy parking at the park or the side of the road and great running trail. The views are beautiful always. Both early morning and night time never get old.
MoreReally nice walk took me an hour and 45 min to complete and thats walking slow and stoping every now and then
MoreOMG, if you had time gooooo, its beautiful, its 2 1/2 miles from the parking to the mt, all way up, I recommended.
MoreMount Rubidoux Park has a great beginner level hike for all to enjoy. We parked at Ryan Bonaminio Park and climbed the hill to the start of the trail. The trail is paved, and great for kids. A stroller could also be used, though pushing it up the hill is some spots could be a workout. The weather was cool when we went, but I imagine it would be hot in the summertime, and there is very little shade. The hike didn’t take us very long, maybe an hour and a half to two hours tops, and that’s with little kids, and taking it very easy. There are good views of the surrounding landscape, as the trail wraps around all sides. This activity was a great choice to get the kids out of the house for a short time, and not too intense. There were quite a few people there, some choosing to run the hill as a workout, which would be a good one if you lived nearby. Again, good option that doesn’t require a big-time commitment or a lot of physical ability. Get in a workout, or just get some fresh air, either way it was fun for me and the family.
MoreSuper nice and easy paved trail with view of big rocks, architecture and the city view. Really a nice walk! Even though it’s cloudy on Saturday but it’s still so crowded. Definitely worth a visit!!
MoreI love this hike! Great work out up and down hill with beautiful views to the city. Paved walking path with options to walk on unpaved areas around the mountain!
MoreNice place to go for a walk. Anyone can enjoy this trail. Even your 4 legged friends. It is paved all the way to the top and you will have views of the cities around the park. It is sad to see graffiti on the rocks, thank you to the people that maintain the park and try to keep it beautiful for everyone.
MoreI come and walk every Tuesday! Friendly people and fresh and exciting experience every time. I bring my cold water and head to the top. I you like photography like I do the scenes are beautiful with a full 360 degree view. Hope to see you there!
MoreGreat place to hike, walk, jog, or run! It gets hot but there is shade here and there to take cover under; my favorite shade was found under a few bridges over the trial. You can jog in the dirt next to the paved route most of the way. Great view to be had at the top!
MoreEasy hike.. You can choose to walk on pavement or take the short cut which is kind of dusty path.. At the top are amazing structures of a big cross, bridges and towers.. Lots of stories about those structures.. There are benches if you get tired and look at the awesome view.. Very nice place to hike.. You can take your kids and pets and you can bike.. 👍
MoreA good challenge if youve never hiked uphill but simple as well. Benches positioned throughout the hike for resting that each come with a beautiful view. If you make it to the top where our nations flag waves or a beautiful monument of a cross sits you may get emotional. Its definitely worth the sweat!
MorePlace is great have been going over 20 years. Experience not so amazing anymore but nice workout. If you go with a big group dont block the entire trail be considered.
MoreThe trail is neither difficult nor shady. It can be really hot during the summer time. Because there is no parking lot, finding a parking space on the side of the street in the neighborhood can be challenging. There is no entrance fee either. The view on th top is pretty amazing.
MoreBeautiful place for hiking with family, husband or friends. Very accessible and safe. We went for a relaxing walk and enjoy the view :)
MoreWe actually drive out of our way to come here. My kids call it, "the good park". Unfortunately there are always a lot of people here, and most of the time there are many older kids here, who are probably past their park prime. Kids on their skateboards loudly cursing, playing loud inappropriate music, and sometimes just sitting in the way on the playground. While most are completely unaware of the younger ones trying to get past them to get to the slide. My youngest has gotten bowled over by older kids many times. This is definitely the kind of park you have to stay constantly vigilant.
MoreGreat trails, nice incline, beautiful mix of nature and city scenary with occasional shady spots to cool off or take a break. Moderately busy with people in the mornings but less than 5% are creeps and theyre easy to lose on the trails so its okay. There are usually vendors on weekend mornings which is cool.
MoreMount Robidoux its one of the best hinkings trail in Riverside county, I enjoy coming here very early in the morning, it also has the best views of the city. Im definitely going back and do the 3 mile hike again.
MoreLovely walk. You can take a few different routes to the top. The views are great from every path. Nice photo op at the end with the cross. Great for a family hiking day out.
MoreGreat place to hike with several trails ranging from moderate to difficult. You can also bike up the mountain if you have a properly equipped bicycle. there is free parking at the ball park across the street. Bring plenty of water.
MoreParking here is great! Plenty of it so dont worry about it. The best hiking trail in Riverside! So much to see and admire. Different routes and people are very friendly! Enjoy this place!
MoreGreat place to hike, not hard at all to climb if youre in average to good shape. Best way to get a workout is to run it up and down a couple of times.
MoreWe found this hike while on the way to another park. It was just too tempting for us to not meet the challenge. We saw lots of other people on the trail to the top as well.It was a good hike and well worth it when we reached the top!We parked down by the dog 🐕 park, but be aware parking is limited. Their are several ways to the top, some far more strenuous than others. Be aware there are some trails that do take you back down to the bottom of the hike in different locations, so make sure you are taking the trails to the top and not down. Unfortunately, there are not many signs on the way up.I look forward to doing this again!!!
MoreWe took our whole family (and puppyon a hike. It was about 3.5 miles for the round trip. Everyone had fun. There are plenty of places to sit, stop and rest along the way for the little ones. The scenes are breathtaking. Everyone jogging, running, walking and biking are respectful of each other.
MoreDecent hike, wear appropriate shoes. Allow yourself over an hour for this hike if youre not in the greatest shape. Great views of riverside, this is a nice addition after seeing the mission inn. This is totally worth doing if youre in the area and want to burn off some brunch calories!
MoreThis is SUCH a great hike. Its a steady incline, but doable. The paths are pretty much paved the whole way and the views are spectacular. Theres a beautiful cross at the top and a cool amphitheater. I loved the castle looking bridge too that you see on one side of the path. A friend and I, both slightly out of shape, did the loop in less than an hour and a half with picture stops, could probably be done in 45 minutes. Theres free parking in neighborhoods near trail entrances. A must do when in Riverside!
MoreAwesome place for hiking! It takes about 20-30 minutes to climb up to the top.It took me 20 minutes to run down the hill. It’s pretty easy hiking spot. It is my second time here and not the last one for sure. There’s a lot of people with small kids and strollers.Nature is gorgeous here!
MoreThe trail was easy, but had beautiful views of the city. All of the stops along the way for photos were easily accessible, and the trail was mostly paved. The trail had an incline almost the whole way, so it may require a stop or two (at least I didif youre not prepared. Regardless, it was a lovely trail with a beautiful tower and bridge at the top, and lovely views of the city and surrounding areas.
MoreWhat a beautiful place to hike. There are many paths to take depending on how much you want to walk. While there is a gradual climb going up there mountain, it isnt very difficult. There were many families with smaller kids walking and even older people. Therefore, is a great walk regardless of age.
