Staying in Tauranga for a holiday this week and we had the chance to visit quite a few food hospo places. I have to say I was very impressed with the Tuesday special at Mount Mellicks. There is a special everyday on the menu which I think is a great promotional idea. Always gets the Punters in the door. The food that we received was great with good presentation and the service was excellent. I would happily recommend this pub for a drink and a good feed if you are in the area.

Below Avg food. took 1.5 hrs just to get our drinks 2hrs to get the food.Wont be back to this pub ever again.

Nice to have lunch

I went there and I loved the fish and chips but my friend Chen complained that it was too small and totally ruined the day for me so now we are no longer friends.

Mondays are $20 for an entire whole rack of bbq ribs on top of a mount of fat fries. Chips. Sorry. Chips. They give you bowls of water and lemon to wash your fingers too. I love NZ.

Stopped in for a couple of beers and some dinner, upon ordering and paying for 2nd round, told we couldnt order anything due to a private function having priority over the kitchen between 6pm and 7.30, couldnt even buy a bag of chips. This should have been explained when we arrived. Very disappointing. The staff and service was good though.

So funny. Good music, i went in with a few friends, bought a beer and went outside. And literally in 2 minutes decided to go inside to the toilet. The security didnt let me in anymore 😂😂

Tasty beer-battered fish and crispy chips with salad and mayo. Dine inside or outside. Good decor and a number of TV screens for live sports action!

Managers are on edge because of red light blah blah. We had young girls check our pass on entry then noticed they didnt for some 🤔 I will give 5 stars after this stupid traffic light system

Monday night is worth going to Mount Mellik to enjoy the biggest board of pork spare ribs & chips, & when & if you can eat it all, the next lot of ribs & chips is on the table in front of you, the food is never ending.

Only tried one Guinness and left. Awful, bubbly, fizzy and metallic tasting. An Irish bar should be doing better.*this was Friday 4th Feb in the late Afternoon. I should have taken a picture of it. Not disputing that you probably sell a lot of Guinness. Just the pint I had was very bad.

Steak, chips, salad and mushroom sauce was amazing. The steak was thick as hell, perfectly cooked ans worth the $32.Absolutely disappointed I never took a photo!The staff are amazing, very observant and ask if you need a drink when you are low which is helpful when youre on a roll. They bring the eftpos machine to you as well which is dope.

Manager was very rude and we will definitely not be dining there ever again. Being visitors to Mt Maunganui we were unaware we had dined at the wrong venue until it came time to pay the bill. The First Table booking on my mobile was shown to the barman on arrival and we were shown to a table yet on paying when we were leaving he said he did not hear what I said although my party of 3 heard me quite clearly say First Table booking which allows 50 percent off the meal. The manager stated that it was something that only 18 year olds would come up with. We are all over 70!!!!!

Really quite terrible service here. It’s also quite obvious from my experience and now reading the review responses here how bad the management is at dealing with anything but perfect situations. The management here constantly blames every customer instead of giving a simple apology and working to improve. They do not care, whatsoever, about the health and safety of their guests.

Really good place, amenities super and cost effective. Only 4 stars as some of the staff didnt know what they were selling, beer, specials and what happy hour sales were.Recommend, its a super good night out.

Last Friday night, 20 plus of my workmates gathered at the Mellick for a farewell party. What a great venue. Its a small but comfortable 2 storey building on Maunganui Road (the mount), that serves up the most delicious meals at an affordable price. I had the sirloin steak & veges, washed down with a icy cold corona or 2 or 3. The atmosphere is friendly orientated emphasized by the smiling and helpful bar staff. Theres plenty of tables inside cozy enough to suit all group numbers and a sidewalk lean tables and stools. The only negatives theres NO heating outside and the tables close to the road cant be used after 9pm Something about council rates and rules. My answer to both keep your punters warm and pay the council fee to so theyll stay and enjoy the band that kicks off till late. A place that has it all. 🍻

The staff were smiling and friendly when we arrived place very clean.I was very disappointed at my meal $24 for this gnocchi with spinach sauce and seasonal veggies. It was horrible the veggie were not fully cooked and I couldnt find the gnocchi in this thick overload of sauce. I left my plate to the side while my family ate their dinner. The wait staff walked by 3 times and ignored the fact I wasnt eating. When she came to clear the plates still didnt ask if everything was OK with my meal which was still a full plate. I said sorry I couldnt eat my meal. She replied I wouldnt know I only eat meat"laughed and walked off. No resolution to me not eating. Anyways when I went to pay at the Bar I believe she was the manager asked how my meal was I explained she was very nice and apologised and refunded me my meal and said she would of got me something else to eat had she known.My husband and kids enjoyed their meal but shame about veggie option.Good Guinness as well

First ever time there, although I live locally. Quiet, but to be expected given it is Wednesday. Staff friendly & pleasant.ONE improvement could be they play well known, or authentic Irish music. Other establishments throughout NZ do. Maybe it was "just the night". This NOT a criticism, but more of constructive feedback which will enlighten the atmosphere.Great place. Will be there again. BUT, Ill look forward to Irish music as a background. Go well. ☝

Enjoyed St Patricks day with friends at Mount Mellick. The atmosphere was fantastic with a live band. Awesome! I had the mussels to eat, absolutely delicious. The staff were very warm & welcoming great service. Will go back

Great service and atmosphere. The food is absolutely gorgeous! They have a nice area out back with a little playhouse for the kids. Such a cool space. We will definitely be back with friends and family

What a great experience! The vibe, the food, and the service = all top notch.I enjoyed the steak and chip lunch deal with a side salad: perfect portion sizes and really good quality meat, crispy chips, and fresh salad.Would definitely go back there!

We went for dinner on Labour Weekend (no surcharge). Great, friendly service and the food was quick and delicious. Huge sized meals, good value for money. My husband had the all you can eat ribs and he loved them. The kids meals were huge and tasty too. Would go again.

Mount Mellick.. they have dinner meals here every night, came here sunday for the $10 steak n chips for lunch, was a good deal n happy with what we got.. came back on tuesday night for 2 for 1 dinner, was two steak n chip meals n two bottles of beer or soft drinks in glasses for $30.. the only difference was the steak cuts n the extra drink sides.. upstairs is chill with a pool table n darts upstairs outdoor aera also.. a heap of signed rugby player tops hanging n other cool stuff to check out.. go see mellick over at the mount.. cheers

Probably one of the best burgers I had ever! Quite good menu. You can choose a lot of different drinks and food. There sits inside and outside. Suggest to visit once you are close to it!

Great Place and Friendly Service!A great Selection of Beers on tap and the food was very good. Went there for our Christmas Work Do and really enjoyed the vibe and the band that was playing.....

Very good venue. A shame they only have one pool table with one pool cue.
