My husband and I climbed the Chogoria to Sirimon Route of Mt Kenya to Point Lenana in February and it was the trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend Charles Ngatia or Joshua as guides.

Best sightings of indigenous forests, birds, waterfalls, wild animals and rare flora and fauna species. We had a stay at Camp Sierra which is located within Karoki Ndwiga Ventures.

Mt. Kenya has been good to me again..being the 33rd expedition and the 31st summit to lenana, every time is a different experience..And am not getting tired of you
A wonderful place to go hiking.
The KWS officers at the Sirimon Gate are very frustrating. Too much protocol and lengthly entrance process especially for large groups. Also their rates have doubled and the changes have not been reflected on their website. Rude shock. The Park is well taken care of and a beautiful unforgettable experience awaits.
Here youll have a chance to climb Mt. Kenya the highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest in Africa. 4days mountain climbing Kshs 32000 PP

One of the most beautiful places in Kenya to hike and relax with friends.
This is a place I wanna visit again, the scenery, the peak view but you got to be at view point before 10am or you might miss the peak. Oh I dress warmly... You dont wanna miss the experience
A very good place that misd after visit. ..Awesome and unforgettable experience
A wonderful place to spend your weekends with family and friends with all sorts of animals and birds.
A very pretty park. It might be the most approachable high mountain outside Europe that I ever visited. The geological formations, and the fauna and flora are thoroughly spectacular. Its very easy to ascend too quickly and get altitude sickness, so a two days stop around 3500m is very much recommended. The accommodation on the way is basic but very helpful and is recommended. Weather can go from -10c at the peaks to very warm at the lower parts, and it often rains, so good outdoor equipment is essential. Sun radiation is super strong due to the combination of altitude and equator. Overall very much recommended.
The best seasons to climb Mt Kenya are the dry seasons: January to Mid March is an excellent time. The skies are clear and the morning are filled with golden light. However, there is a catch. During the dry season, the mountain has scotching hot days and bitterly bitterly cold nights. The heavy rains resume Mid March and continue through April. At this time, you want to be armed with proper rain gear. During the rainy season, the mountain has cool days and warmer-ish nights compared to the dry seasons. The exception here is July - this is regarded as the Cold and Wet season. In most mountains around the world, a man can look down from the base camps and see some civilization but on Mount Kenya, a man is alone.Youll need a guide for the trails especially going to the summit at night lest you get seriously lost. The highest peaks Batian and Nelion require a healthy amount of technical climbing knowledge to have a slight chance of making it to the top. Loose rocks, ice falls(the little that is leftand rapid changes in weather are key contributors to failure to summit. My favorite camping spots are Lakes Ellis and Lake Michelson. Theres simply nothing that compared to these spots in the entire country.Ive climbed this great mountain plenty of times over the years. Mount Kenya is a mountain that has a close relevance to my heart.Having grown up in Nanyuki Town, I saw the mountain every single day. it was always standing majestic and covered in snow from January to December. Gradually, the snow retreated towards the top due to climate change and the weather patterns have never been the same ever since.NEVER underestimate this mountain by going under-prepared or under-dressed. This mountain has the ability to pull your pants down, rough you up and send you on your way if you dont humble yourself. Happy trails!
Through Timau area you get the best view of the Mountain. If you are not a hiker but you love quality pictures come to Timau. If hiking is your area,Timau again got you covered via Sirimon gate.Timau is located some 20Km East of Nanyuki town as you head to Meru Town.A very cool mountain climate.
Best place to visit when one needs to interact with wildlife. A very good experience
Went for a day hike. Reached the first base point. Such a beautiful green place. If you are a fan of nature Id definitely recommend.
Getting what your really have been yearning for on terms of beautiful sceneries, hiking, camping, mountaineering and many more as far as tourism is concerned, is found here.
Its a great place. Well worth the effort of getting there. Its a little heavy on the bank balance.
Good for pro/amateur hiking expeditions, love every bit of it. Armed rangers available, open places at the castle for team building etc.
Great hike, went via Chogoria side to the summit and was there 5 days. Lots of scenic diversity - so much to see and do! Equatorial star were the company and they were great. Highly recommend visiting this place!
Hiking Mount Kenya was an Interesting experience. I used the Chogoria Route ... I got to Lake Ellis and Michaelson... Its a hard task and the nights were so cold since It rained and the winds were strong. Daytime was sunny but dont the sun fool you, its quite cold.We hiked it with six other friends and I was the guide having done it before. #letsguide.
Went there for aclimatization prior to climbing Kibo in Tanzania. Bottom line this part of the tour was much nicer than Kibo itself. This applies to landscape and people. Really loved my time there.
Perfect place for getaway with no cellphone reception, no shopping centre. Wooden cabins can get very cold.
